Meiko could see the girls interest dwindled the moment she said that she'd work for free. Meiko wasnt some rich business mogul that has buckets of money. Meiko then realized why the girl wanted a job when she asked if Meiko was a model
"You flatter me. It means Im doing my job properly~ But sadly no. I'm a beaty guru. I do makeup and fashion vlog videos and give tutorials. I get my pay through ad revenue. I'm almost gonna get my Silver Play Button. Recently I got a good chunk of new subscribers due to one promotion I got. But sadly, Im not a model and I cant employ you. I have money just for myself, I cant afford to employ anyone."
Meiko was 18, she couldnt get a real job. Not yet. She was too young. That is not to say that online jobs arent real jobs. But many adults or old people just didnt recognize it as such. Making videos and staying at home. People didnt count that as a job.

Compliments, even if false or forced, were nice to hear from time to time. With the compliment, she hoped only to move the conversation along. Even if they wanted to talk, Kasey did also want to get to reading the books as soon as she got home. Would be had been a better idea to buy them then sit down with the woman over coffee or some other small treat? How did one invite another to such a thing? "Oh, I see I see." Kasey would nod, pretending to follow along. She really had no clue what the girl was talking about. "I'll most certainly keep you in mind!" Kasey would say to the girl, wondering what kind of advice she would really be able to provide. But that was an interesting word. Vlob. Vlop? Vog? Fog? No no, what did she say it was? "A promotion sounds very good!" Kasey would say to her, still trying to grasp the meat of the conversation. All of it was going over her head. What did the girl really do for work? Was she someone who sold videos of strange things online? How much did people pay to watch her? Was she popular? Should Kasey have recognized her? She seemed proud, was it a normal thing people did, to do those things publicly? The world was strange. ~ Word Count: 225 ~ |

Meiko saw the girl still wasnt interested in anything since she said the girl wouldnt get paid. The way she talked was as if she pretended to listen while not really. Sheesh, thats the problem of being a uTuber, no one takes you seriously
"Well. I'll let you decide what you want, Sugar. But I can see you're itchin to read that book. So I'll leave you be." Meiko said and smiled before taking her leave
It was obvious the two girls wanted to end their conversation asap, so Meiko decided to be the one that ended it. She had places to be. Like home or better yet a bar to drink away the night. So thats what she decided, she started walking away, leaving this place. She waved goodbye to the girl. Not even introducing herself

All of it was strange, but it seemed that the super model wanted to cut things short. Perhaps she had something to display later on. it made sense to Kasey. How could she have time to read if she was changing in and out of outfits constantly? She would begin to part with a small exchange of words, leaving Kasey a bit confused as to why. but if she was famous too, she wasn't going to be one to keep her busy. After all, even famous people have their own lives. "Oh, well goodbye pretty lady." Kasey would say to the girl with a smile, trying to wave with her hands while holding the book. Surely she had somewhere to be, and Kasey would simply just buy her book and make her way back home. Maybe tomorrow she would go and check up on Susumu. That seemed like a good idea. Surely she would go to read the books, and after she had dealt with her own sibling, she would head directly to the Tokyo hospital. With a smile, she parted from the girl to make her way to the register. It was going to be a really good week, she could just feel it. /short thread was short. ~ Word Count: 205 ~ |
