And Jasmine... Jasmine's case was entirely different. Her life had been cruel and unrelenting, kicking her in the teeth with every chance it got, no matter if she was up on her feet or down on her knees. She would roam the streets, trying to find for food to satiate her rumbling stomach. She would watch TV through the glass window outside of a supermarket, dreaming of better days. The world, albeit evil, was open to her. She had the freedom to do what she wanted so long as she fought for it. And now, ever since moving to Yuuei, her world felt like it had closed down around itself. People were afraid of her, and those who knew her were wary of her because of how damaged she was. While she had friends back home, all of them had left her in one way or another. She likely came across as something of a lone wolf to her supposed peers now.

And as much as she tried to fight it, standing in front of a mirror every morning to prepare her fake smile for the day, she would be lying if she said it was easy to deal with.

The blonde lioness, often seeming like a shell of her former confident and boisterous self, tried to stay away from campus as much as possible without it seeming suspicious. Occasionally she'd hit up the gym, other times she'd stay in the garage to tinker with things. She'd stay in her room to draw whenever Rin wasn't around, and when the girl came by the two of them would watch a movie or play a game or two before Jaz often went out on her evening jog, trying to clear her head from the feelings she couldn't possibly begin to understand.

Feeling an uneasy heaviness in her chest, Jaz boarded the first train to Tokyo she could find. Why? She couldn't tell you. Musutafu had been difficult to live in these past couple of days. Tokyo just seemed like such a faraway land as compared to that little town. It was just so different, sprawling with all kinds of different life that she could get lost in. The arcade, the park, some library, maybe even a rock climbing range... heck, on an off day she could even go to a bar - she looked old enough, and with a certain sway of her hips she could easily make sure the bouncers didn't even bother asking her for an ID. Honestly talking to strangers had been easier than people she supposedly knew.

Thus she found herself wandering the streets of Tokyo, her destination unknown as she walked towards nowhere in particular. As per usual, her clothing consisted of calf-high sweatpants, a hoodie and some sneakers. Jogging gear, mostly. She likely would've dressed differently, but then she'd had to explain where she was going. The pretense of exercise was so much easier to lie about considering it was something common to her.

Within several hours the lioness found herself in Tokyo Park, aimlessly walking around the many pathways covered in green foliage. Looking into the trees, she had to cover her eyes from the rays of sun shining through the gaps between the leaves. It was nice here; a little cooler and much, much more relaxing.

For once Jaz hadn't brought her earphones. And, honestly? That didn't even feel all too bad. Sometimes getting in touch with her noisy surroundings wasn't such a bad thing. In which case, it helped her hear a voice. Somewhat familiar, yet not entirely so. Glancing to her side with a raised brow, she saw a familiar figure. A smaller girl, blonde with bright green eyes. She was talking to herself. Where had Jaz seen her before? Yuuei? Likely.

"You, uh... you alright there?" She asked, acting against her better judgment. Honestly she didn't want to meet anyone from Yuuei there but, if somebody needed her help with something, she couldn't exactly push them away.

Suspicious person? The beach? What? When did she...

Then it clicked.

The beach! That's where she had seen her! Sure she'd seen the girl at Yuuei as well but the beach was the most prominent memory she could think of. She remembered; she was out on a jog, one that had gotten a little too long as she had lost herself in her own thoughts. Listening to music, she ran, she ran, and she ran, her burning calves not even a problem for the lioness to deal with. Then she had found herself at the beach, watching MMA videos and trying to learn and replicate. Meeting Ryuusei there had been a little out of the blue but she'd have been lying if she said she hadn't appreciated the male's company. Then the shark dude. Or was it the squid dude? Wait, yeah. It was the squid dude and he was pulling a fucking shark out of the ocean. That was one fantastic fucking day.

She remembered seeing the girl there. Smiling and waving. Huh. It was a wonder how randomly you could meet people.

"Yeah, that was me," Jaz said, giving the girl a short smile. A smile that quickly turned into one of suspicion, "Why? Have you seen him anywhere recently? Is he dragging sharks out the ocean again? Ugh. Some people."

Laughing, Jaz waved her off, "Nah, don't worry about it. I've seen plenty weird around town and this is hardly that," she said, trying to seem friendly. "I'm Jasmine, by the way. Feel free to call me Jaz. I've seen you around at Yuuei... I think. You a student there?"

A generic question it was but, heck, she was actually curious to find out what class she was from. She also wondered if she was one of the ones who would shy away from her the second she found out her name. Most did. The notoriety of her fights and her PTSD had turned her into a freak in school. The rumor mill was a dangerous place; not that the lioness minded. If people decided to avoid her because of things they didn't understand - more power to them. That was just one less thing on her mind and fewer people trying to annoy her with one thing or another. Frankly it was a win-win situation for her, she thought.

But, at the same time, she knew she was lying to herself.

"Oh? I was, wasn't I?" Jaz replied, clearly a little amused as shown by the small smirk on her face. It was kind of weird, really. To be praised like that. Normally she was used to getting scolded, especially by Rin. Her more... 'heroic' actions being labeled as reckless and unnecessary. On some level they were, but when it came down to it, Jaz always did what she thought was right. And if that meant attacking somebody that she couldn't hope to beat, she'd probably do it anyway if it meant she'd be protecting somebody who needed it. And in the case of the beach... well, a squid dude eating sharks on a public shore-line where kids often played wasn't something that was exactly legal by any standards.

"Class B, eh? I haven't heard much about B. Mostly deal with C since that doofus Darren always tries to prove some kind of point. I think he's just insecure with his masculinity. Oh, I'm 1A myself. The, uhh... weirdo class, I guess you could say. Yeah, we're pretty messed up, but we're trying," the blonde replied, rubbing the back of her head and chuckling somewhat sheepishly.

"So, Miku. What's brought you here today? It's a nice place, don't get me wrong. I'm just not used to seeing a lot of Yuuei students in Tokyo, y'know?"

"Under control? I didn't even know what the fuck was going on, really. Just went with my gut," the blonde explain, chuckling a little sheepishly. Honestly that particular time was such a random shit show. All she knew was that something iffy was going wrong and, despite Ryuusei's reluctance, she was adamant to stop the guy from scaring people off, or, well, doing something much, much worse, which she thought would've been incredibly likely. Call it idiocy, but Jaz always had a knack for getting herself into dumb situations because of what she believe in.

"Tokyo, eh? I'm from New York, myself. Only stayed in Japan for like... what, four, five months now? It's a pretty cool place. Though Musutafu can get quite boring. I often come over to Tokyo just to chill at arcades and stuff. Especially when the dorm room starts getting stuffy, y'know?" The blonde explained, sighing, "I live with Rin Kurama? Y'know, 1-A's class prez? We're roommates and I love her, but... let's just say things can get a little difficult at times."

"Anyway, you said your quirk wouldn't be much help? Why's that?" She asked, genuinely curious. In Jasmine's case, she had always been praised that her quirk was one that provided insane combat advantages. And, well, going by how many fights she's been through, that wasn't wrong.

"Really?" Jaz asked, blinking with a little surprise. Sure, when she first came into the dorm she had the room all to herself. Nobody had told her she could have a roommate either. But, well, the room was clearly too big for her own lonesome self. That made her remember how she hated that room before Rin had moved in. A solemn look temporarily painted itself on the blonde lioness' face. Oh how much she avoided spending time there way back when, only going back to her den to sleep and then leaving first thing the next morning. It was funny how much of a contrast the room from then had from the room from now. It was almost inspiring, in a way. How one person was capable of changing the scenery and atmosphere of a place so drastically. Or maybe that was just the effect Rin had on people. She couldn't really tell.

But when the situation presented itself, Jaz acted without thinking. Rin had... saved her? That was probably the appropriate term despite the fact that the situation wasn't as dire as that made it sound. A couple of hundred bee stings were pretty painful but she still, to this day, wouldn't consider them life-threatening. Then Rin found her, passed out in front of the school. Drug her to her room, injured herself getting medicine, and treated the lioness until she was able to properly fend for herself. How ironic was it that the injured also found the scars of the savior and offered her a home. From that point on, everything was like clockwork. A request to move in approved within hours, Rin, with her humble box of practically nothing, had now brought life into a room that had previously seemed barren. The thought made Jaz smile; now Rin's box definitely wouldn't be empty, would it?

"Yeah, it's possible. You just gotta put in a request with the board and they'll find you one right away provided anyone else is looking for one," the blonde explained, giving the other girl a small smile. "And Rin's the class prez of 1-A. She's kinda dense but she's cool."

"Plants, huh?" Jaz asked, suddenly interested. Looking around, she grinned, "Well, there's no sand here. So how about you take a go at it? Sure, we're not allowed to use our quirks in public but I'm pretty sure nobody's around, yeah?"
