PERSONALITY POSITIVE ✔ quick-witted, loyal, strong-willed, protective, humorous, brave NEGATIVE ✖ competitive, sarcastic, quarrelsome, blunt, reckless, impulsive LIKES ✔ a good fight, red meat, dogs, turn-based games, working out, shonen XDISLIKES ✖ fish, grape jelly, pools, L I T T E R I N G, heights, losing PERSONALITY Miguel, in short, could be best described as a very flawed hero. He's very competitive and quarrelsome. The slightest hint of a challenge would lead to Miguel favoring the path that would bring about the rumored conflict which could really end up endangering lives one day. Other than this he's also very reckless and impulsive which makes the before mentioned traits harder to control. Miguel has a habit of entering battle without thinking the situation all the way through. Still, he does his best to achieve victory (as he hates losing) though his methods are really unorthodox sometimes and very reckless. Now, most of these traits mainly apply to physical confrontations, but even in a verbal conflict, Miguel can be just as bad. He's sarcastic and blunt meaning that he usually has some kind of sharp response to whatever is said to him that possesses some kind of negative connotation, even if he doesn't mean to. This usually causes a situation to elevate to more than it really needs to be, Miguel usually being the one at fault for the escalation. In a more positive light though, there are various positive things that can be said in regards to Miguel. He's certainly very brave seeing as to how difference in strength has never scared him, and quite frankly, it never will. He could be facing Superman and he still wouldn't back down. This combined with his strong will often allow him to prosper in situations that most teenagers his age cannot. But you spend the first 8 years of your life like Miguel did and these traits are second nature. Another trait developed as a result of his past, Miguel is very protective of those he builds a strong enough bond with. Even if that person is stronger or more capable than he is, if he and that person are close enough, he’d have no problem at all protecting them from possible injury for if they were to get hurt, he’d only blame himself. One last trait developed from his past is his quick wit. In most situations, Miguel has a tendency to whip up a counter or rebuttal that aren’t always interstellar or anything but they get the job done. The last two traits that are actually abnormal when looking at Miguel and all he’s been through is his sense of humor which lets him joke and flirt and such even when in the toughest of situations. This and his undying loyalty to his own ideals and promises of which he wouldn’t even dream of abandoning. | APPEARANCE HEIGHT: 1.727 meters. WEIGHT: 68.492 kg. HAIR/STYLE: Brown hair; combed and brushed in a hair-down style (may tie his hair into a ponytail if he finds he needs to be serious in order to keep it out the way). SKIN/SCARS: Light skin; small, faded scars across his arms and torso. EYES: Normally shaped eyes; light pink color. NOTABLES: He has an X branded to his forehead, a result of his terrible childhood. Miguel is an extremely fit half Mexican, part Chinese and part Japanese teenage boy. He stands at 1.727 meters (5’8) and weighs in at 68.492 kilograms (151 pounds), a lot of which is muscle. The fat in his body has been greatly toned thanks to constant intense training, though he still sports a rather slender body type. His skin is very light in tone and his eyes are an extremely light shade of pink, an eye color brought about by the genetics of his mother. Also like his mother, Miguel has long hair that has moved beyond his shoulders and is extremely close to his hips in length (He's actually very sensitive about his hair, messing it up is NOT your best course of action). On his forehead he has an X which his father branded to his head as a symbol of Miguel’s involuntary undying loyalty. |

HISTORY Miguel was born to a Mexican father and a half Japanese, half Chinese mother in the city of Monterrey, Mexico. Unfortunately, he only got to grow up with one of these parents. Soon after giving birth to Miguel, his mother died on the spot, leaving him to be raised by his father. At first, his grandparents, who were also options for custody, let Miguel’s father take full custody without any kind of rebuttal. He had seemed to be a good man. But little did they know, he was not what he had seemed to be at all. Miguel's father was actually a huge drug dealer with loads of profit. It'd be hard to buy a house in the mountains of Monterrey otherwise. However, as the years had gone on, half of all the world's youth was estimated to have a quirk and soon enough, quirks had become the new craze and with Miguel’s generation, their importance in society had seemingly peaked. People with quirks were starting to be able to join forces with the law as official Heroes, though many quirkers were still Vigilantes and Villains. Drugs were practically a lost business at this point all because of the rise of quirks. Knowing this, Miguel's father was able to find a disgusting and a bit vengeful way to make a just as large (or even larger) profit through illegal methods once again. A fighting ring for quirkers. Who didn't love seeing superpowered beings slug it it out in a no holds barred match? That's why not too soon after Miguel was born, Miguel’s father was able to easily bring the idea of an underground ring where people with quirks, young and old, were forced to duke it out by Miguel's father and his gang. They kidnapped anyone with a quirk from all over Mexico and brought them back to a side street alley on the westside of Monterrey under an abandoned church where the ring was located. Miguel's father normally kept his life in the underground separate from his life raising Miguel. This lead Miguel to believe That his Father was his one true hero growing up. In his eyes, his father was all alone and yet he still managed to keep such a large house, pay for such nice things, live in such a beautiful area, and even raise a child despite a wife to help. This image of his father lasted until Miguel manifested his quirk during what began as an innocent game of catch at the age of 5. As Miguel made a throwing motion, a small piece of earth ripped outwards, obviously unnaturally. At first, Miguel's father did not believe his eyes. Miguel hadn't even noticed. When his father caught the ball, he threw it back once again, just to make sure that the cause was Miguel. Miguel jumped to catch it, but this time a piece of earth erupted once again, this time from under him which launched him higher into the air. When the boy came back down and faceplates, he laughed it off and rolled over in the mountain grass only to see his father with a facial expression that wasn't very fatherly at all. He had just become consumed by the desire for profit and a personal vendetta against quirkers who had ruined his business by simply existing…and that was the last thing he saw before he woke up in his new life. Searing hot water hit him hard, causing him to jump up with a scream. He was naked, yet unmarked (except for a swollen eye, which was the result of his father knocking him out). Shivering of fear, he looked around him, only to see that he was surrounded by other children who were in the exact same predicament, stuffed in a room that was inexplicably dirty. The steel door, the only entrance to the room, flung open. There stood Miguel’s father who had a judging and stern look in his eye as he glanced across the room which fell silent. Everyone was stunned with fear. Everyone except Miguel, naive 4 year old Miguel who still thought of this man as his dad rather than just his father. His first of many mistakes in this hellhole. He ran to his father who kicked him in the face as a response, sending the boy tumbling backwards. Miguel’s father then invited in a few of his lackeys. That’s when the marking began, starting with Miguel who was pinned down and branded with a giant x to his forehead. The first taste of such immense pain at the age of 4. It’s a wonder how Miguel still laughs and smiles so often in the present. Within hours, Miguel found himself in the pit itself, forced to fight like an imprisoned animal. His first year was a terrible wreck. He was constantly beaten down to near death, abused verbally and physically, and his lack of control over his quirk only made it worse. His opponents hated him, the audience hated him, and his da--his father? He most likely hated him too. He was a huge disappointment. That was until one day, against a frequent opponent who was the source of the many gashes and marks now on his body, Miguel’s quirk showed itself once again, this time Miguel was able to use it in more successful methods. This is where his record began. With that win, he had managed to defeat the underground’s youth division’s strongest fighter at the end of his first year of competition. Though, the trauma of the constant defeat and beatdowns were permanently scarring. Sometimes when Miguel finds himself in a pickle, he can lose it, letting his quirk run rampant. Years went on and Miguel taught himself an abundance of things while observing others to help him out. By the time he was eight years old, Miguel had become a more hardened warrior and fighter than most adults. He was raised in battle, denied of his childhood. His father slowly became impressed with Miguel despite the fact that Miguel had returned the favor of not regarding him as family long ago. Unfortunately for Miguel’s father, he had seemed to have forgotten about the determined fire within the spirit of Miguel’s grandparents who were very much excited to see Miguel and be involved in his life. Though, they interfered quite late. Whenever they had called, Miguel’s father had always brushed them off and said that they couldn’t visit. This stopped the two grandparents from being grandparents only for so long. Eventually, they just came in person to see their grandson who was...absolutely no where to be found. Not even the mountain home itself. This raised concern within Miguel’s parents, causing them to get the authorities involved. Eventually, the ring was busted by Mexico’s first licensed hero and some police back up. The fighting prisoners were released and returned to their families. Miguel, however, had to leave with his Grandparents. His father had, of course, been arrested. This meant that he had to live with his two grandparents who he hadn’t seen since he was a newborn which meant he was much too young to even fathom their existence before. It was like meeting them for the actual first time at the age of 8. Soon after everything had died down, Miguel’s grandparents took him back home to their home in Japan. There they helped him catch up and get a proper education. They even helped him hone his hand to hand combat skills. Unfortunately though, his grandparents definitely could not help him hone his skill with the quirk. Most of that was self-taught and no one could deny that Miguel had done a good job training himself all those years. However, when he hit 16, he and his grandparents were more than sure that the new school, Yuuei, would help him better. |
