Akane Satsuki "A lesson for life; Don't let big-mouthed blondes distract you from your goals." Crimson Hare Trapped in a cage? I’d never even considered such a scenario… Raising her brow and rubbing her chin a little bit as she looked at the dummy that had been placed within the sort of cage one might have expected to see a person moving stock around for a shop or something, while Miss Satsuki had been relatively assured in the previous two tasks this one worried her a bit. Looks like I might need to be a human shield again... Often using her reflexes and agility to move around a problem but the fact that her target was currently on a track made it difficult to employ such a strategy, meaning that whatever she ran into she would have to face head on. That was not a method she was used to, and interestingly the antics of a nearby blonde affirmed that fact really.
Perhaps I lingered a bit too long? Looking over as she set off on her track to see that a familiar golden crest was also undertaking this task on a track not too far away from her own, while so far the redhead had managed to avoid the most intimidating person she had met since her mother, it seemed fate was not kind enough to keep them apart for the whole challenge. Darren Daimon… Feeling shy and awkward and in many ways overwhelmed by the character of class C because of his boisterous and over the top tendencies, while the boy had made quite the impression on Akane from day one, it wasn’t a good one for either of them. Moving along the track steadily as she had been advised by their teacher but her focus not quite as good as it had been before, with the proximity of the blonde, the green eyed girl found herself distracted and it would cost her the first ‘failure’ of this challenge.
“A-Ah!” Shrieking in fright as she was so heavily focused on the young man that when an air soft pellet shot toward her, in spite of the fact that she had made sure to stand in front of her caged casualty to intercept any harm that might have come its way, the fact that she was surprised by the attack threw her off balance and she fell backward, crashing into her cage. I-I knocked him down… Stumbling and falling against the target she was trying to protect, as a force a little firmer than a nudge hit the container she was trying to guard and sent her mannequin crashing against the side of it, Miss Satsuki knew she had messed up and let out a sigh of disappointment as she did so.
Just… Focus on what you’re doing. Don’t let him distract you! Hanging her head in a sagging fashion as she returned to the start of the course as per the instructions of her teacher, the young woman took a few slow and deep breaths to try and focus herself before beginning again, knowing at least this time she would be ready for the first obstacle. Be ready for it, don’t let it hurt the casualty… Wiling herself to ignore the track on which the blonde haired buffoon was performing and focusing her attention fully on what was to come, as her air-powered adversary popped up again, this time the redhead was ready for the strike and reflexively assumed her rabbit-like form as soon as she saw it.
You’ve been hit by these before, they aren’t all that! Launching herself forward in her speedy lagomorph form in order to make herself a much easier target than the cage behind her, while Akane reckoned she could easily hop over the line of fire it possessed that would only mean that her ‘partner’ took the blow which would mean another failure, so as a pellet shot toward her the aspiring hero took it head on. “Nnnnggg!” The soft practice bullet burying itself into the braced bicep of the girl as she launched herself toward the target and tried to ignore the feeling of discomfort that it inflicted, once the shot had been taken it was the turn of the scarlet haired student to reply and she did so simply but effectively.
Sensei didn’t say whether we should take these targets out but it seems the best way to get them to stop attacking! Driving the fist of her unaffected arm hard into the pop up and sending it right back down from where it had come from, reasoning that a floored attacker in a real rescue would be far less of a threat than one left to their own devices. Letting out a sigh of relief as her ‘enemy’ sank to the ground, Miss Satsuki immediately deactivated her quirk so as to not drain her stamina too much with it and then returned to the cage that she had left a few meters behind her.
Looks like he’s safe, and hopefully I can deal with whatever lays ahead in a similar manner? Stumbling at this first ‘checkpoint’ but achieving a small victory when she had tried again, with a little more assurance in her heart that she could get through this, Akane marched forward to meet what else this course might hold for her. Expecting more guns and a little bit surprised when a bat wielding adversary popped up for her next, now that she was getting used to the threats that these challenges would present, the redhead found herself far less rattled by them. Gasping a little bit as the baton wielding baddie popped up by squaring her stance to absorb the blow that was levied her way before returning one of her own, the ‘educated feet’ of the fiery haired femme saw her though this challenge and the two similar ones that followed after until she found herself confronted by yet another gunner.
I can save my quirk for the really tricky challenges, and take these enemies on with ‘myself’ alone! This time not forcing that transformation into a rabbit-like form upon her and instead opting to battle the shooting target with only her regular strength, Miss Satsuki raised her arms up in front of herself like a boxers shield and dashed forward, wincing a little as her slower pace meant she suffered a couple of sharp stings in her forearms from her daring charge but shrugged them off to deliver a mean thrusting kick. I'm glad that they don't sting as much as Yumi's shots, that's for sure! Shaking her arms out before continuing and repeating the process in the next ‘round’, while it left her throbbing a bit between the wrists and elbows to endure punishment like this the scarlet haired student felt happy that she was toughing this out. Oddly, there was something macho about the way she handled things and that made her feel a little more confident in what she was doing.
Out of the way, please! Finally rounding out her route by delivering a punch she wound up a little to take down the last of her enemies, as she blasted a batter out of her way, with her arms sore and heart racing a little despite the sedate and cautious pace she had kept while pulling the café along, Akane finally reached the end point of this third challenge and sank to her knees in relief as she completed her course. It hurts a lot, but feels weirdly good as well! A little more confident in what she was doing now and despite the simplicity feeling that the experience had opened her eyes to dangers she might not have expected, while more outspoken members of the class saw the need to shoot their mouths off at the end, the redhead chose to simply slip away and see what else she could be taught today… 1306 Words • @tag • NOTES

Mari Yakobu Class 1-C || Code Name || Heavy Breather Mari looked at the cage and inwardly cried. It was like the school wanted her to die. She reached into her leg holster and pulled out her inhaler. The green metal device looked like the standard rescue inhaler for normal asthma patients. But the difference came with the metal cylinder that contained the medicine. It was almost like a pouch more than a canister. After inserting it with a click, She leaned against a nearby wall and started tin inhale with her lips around the mouth piece. The silver pouch crinkled inward as the medicine atomized in her mouth and entered her airways. Once the pouch had been reduced to a single yen size, she removed it from her mouth and held her breath for a few seconds. Her fingers placing the device back in her leg pouch.
As she started to slowly exhale at her usual rate, she watched as the other students picked their doors. The first to attempt it was Darren. He had to almost immediately reset. But he had an easy time afterwards. Next was Alexander, the Shadow Mage Akane followed suit and had to repeat herself. It seemed that these three strong students were having issues themselves. With albuterol running through her system, the Heavy Breather moved to a cage and looked at it. Her lips muttered out the cage’s measurments and approximate density. She gave the cage a light nudge to see how much force it would take to roll down the track. While it took a bit of effort. It could be pulled from the side. Nodding to herself, she walked in front of Moukei-kun and placed her back on the bars, She then moved her hands behind her and gripped the steel. One foot push later, she was off on a slow and steady track.
The first one to pop up was a gun weilder. Instantly she inhaled and took a B.B. to the chest. Without letting go, she kicked the villain and moved on. A meter away was a bat weilder who came to the left. She moved quickly into Utthita Parsvakonasana position. Her right hand came through the cage bars. Her right leg shot out creating a perfect line with her arm as her left leg bent in a ninety degree angle. With her hand at the impact site, she clenched down and luckily caught the bat, tossing it away and sending the cardboard nemesis down to the ground. She took her time getting back to a regular posture before trudging along. Though after a few steps she stopped. She couldn’t rely on that luck holding out. Looking ahead, she scanned the area for any clues where her opponents could be. After a few moments, she spotted the slits in the walls and floor her opponent’s could be coming out of.
With a smile she moved to the left side of the cage and gripped the side bars. She stepped into it and started the slow crawl. If it was one thing she knew was how to take her time. Her eyes kept watch on the slit in the wall. Half expecting it to actually come from the other side. Nope, right on cue and target, the villain popped out and swung the bat. Because she was able to deduce where the opponent would be, she was in the path just moving along. Though she took a bat to the rear. After a couple steps, she let go and quick stepped to the other side so she could keep the cage moving and not have to get it going again.
From the right this time, a cardboard villain came down at them. Just her position wasn’t going to be enough from an overhead strike, so she took aim and blew upwards. The cardboard didn’t survive the jetstream of air, but the metal pole and foam covered bat did. Both of them returned harshly into the wall without making contact with the cage.
Next in the pattern were two slits, one on the floor and one on the ceiling. So she moved back up front. With a deep size doubling inhalation, she completely shielded the cage as she walked on. The one from the floor came out and shot at her, bouncing off her chest again. She didn’t even bother kicking it down this time as it receded. The one uptop was different. A Sniper was targeting the victum. This was the type of shot that would really do damage and she couldn’t relay on it not being able to pierce her. It was however in range. With a massive exhale she started to blow directly at the sniper. When it didn’t retreat and still took the shot the small B.B never emerged. It was stuck in the chamber and jammed up.
The last enemy was right by the exit. She was not expecting the bat to come down like a club in an old cartoon and whacking her on the top of her head. This caused her to fall to her knees holding her aching head. But the bat retreated and she could unlock Mokei-kun from the cage. The goose egg on her skull a friendly reminder of this day.

phantom grip Rescue operations, huh?
That did sound like something very close to hero work. "I'm excited...!" The girl mumbled happily to herself, wearing an amused grin to further prove how truly grateful she was to be able to learn how to go when saving others.
As per requested, Mira would be sporting the typical gym uniform, additionally covering her pale hands with her more than usual white gloves. Truthfully, the reason as to why she kept on bringing them to classes and wherever else was due to her own quirk limitations. Not many people know that, and thinking about it, they probably strongly believe that it's merely fashion. Well, it is, but it's more so one which was forced ever since she found out about that such limit.
Very focused on the lesson at hand, she was unable to interact that much with her classmates. Then again, it's not like there was a chance to actually do so, especially once the exercise commenced. At least she made sure to listen to every single word shared by the teacher himself, to understand and indulge better into what they were about to do. Or well, what she was about to do.
With the technique on how to carry the mannequin properly memorized in her head, the late teenager walks alongside the others to the side which held those very same dolls. It didn't matter which one she chose, they were all the same, weren't they? Hopefully there wasn't the case of one being more prone to break than the others due to having been more used. That always happens when it's about using school equipment. Perhaps it's different with U.A. I mean, it's U.A we are talking about here. Surely they are more careful about such situations.
"Up you go..." Mira chooses her own mannequin, hoisting it up in the proper way and ultimately holding it over her shoulders. "... Oh..." She was surprised at how light they felt, if she had to be brutally honest. The girl thought she was going to have trouble lifting them up, yet that didn't appear to have been the case.
Finally, she moves through the course finessely, having little to no trouble when walking around the walls, carefully going up and down the ramps and ducking down as well as stepping over any obstacle. It's not like she's a stranger to any sort of physical exertion. Even before U.A, Mira was already trained by her mother in martial arts, which included having to do some taxing things.
"Oof... I finished, sensei!" The brown-eyed teen would announce amusingly, inhaling and exhaling a few times, recovering energy. This surely couldn't be their only course, right? A class this short just couldn't make much sense.
After the rest of her classmates would have finished, it was time for another scene. This time it included having to move a cage which held another mannequin inside, this one injured. There were a lot of losing conditions, ones which truthfully scared her a little. Not only did she have to be attentive for any sudden villain attacks, though she also had to make sure that the doll inside the cage wouldn't be bumping around, realistically only harming them more.
The course before was super easy, if she had to admit. The more and more they do, the harder it gets. This was a challenge though. Mira thrives in challenge.
Following the entire explanation, she moves over to her own cage. A little following push was enough to get it going, as there was a track to be used. "A-Ah...! I can't move it on my own?" The youngster grumbled to herself, almost taken off guard by the mechanisms of the course. The fact that there were going to be villains popping up randomly and the fact that she couldn't move the cage wherever she pleased was rather concerning. It seems like she'll either have to be fast or slow. Or both at the same time.
Mira moves at her own pace though, a mixture of both of the ones mentioned. The first villain would pop up though, seemingly raising what appeared to be a bat. A few seconds would take for her to escape its trajectory, the girl only speeding up a tad as the bat would swing right behind her back. "That was close...!" It was very close, indeed. It almost brushed against her uniform, matter of fact. Not long afterwards, the second villain would pop up, a bit more distant than the other, but now with a gun in hand. "Oohh-woahh!" She ducked down and once more sped up. She couldn't let them touch the cage. Not even the bullets could. This was going to be rather difficult.
In the end, it's once more a close call, Mira luckily and successfully managing to move past it. "I should be able to hit them as well though... Maybe change their trajectory...!" It was a thought she had. It's true that the cage can't go away from its own path, though she can for sure, all the while still carrying it. Another villain would then pop up, another carrying a gun of sorts. This time, she tries to rush in, stopping the cage midway if she could or at least slowing it down enough to rapidly approach the cardboard doll and attempt to slap the gun out of its hand. It wouldn't immediately fly off, yet the moment it fired its shots, instead they would be shot in another direction, vastly away from the cage.
"Alright...! If I keep doing this, the rest should be a piece of cake."
The rest of the villains would be stopped, one-by-one, with Mira using her expertise in martial arts to take them down while carefully moving the cage at her own pace. Knowing that she could do the former, she didn't even need to speed up anymore. That only meant she'd probably be one of the last to complete the course or at least would take quite some considerable time.
Ultimately, the late teenager reaches the finish, grinning wide once more, satisfied, filled with such a strong vibe of accomplishment. "Heehee~! He's right, sensei!" She announced aloud, mentioning what Darren had said. "I'm ready for more challenges! Bring it on... Ooossu!" She punched the air in the end in karate-esque fashion, huffing out with excitement.16 y/o | 167 cm 1059 words @class

i wonder how many wishes a star can give He didn't question the odds of ever pushing a caged innocent through a coordinated ambush. This class intended to feed them a repertoire of responses to whatever challenges they encountered, which meant a healthy suspension of disbelief would help them stretch their creative muscles and apply their techniques in ways they hadn't tried before. After the other students finished their rounds, Kutsu forced himself back onto his feet, feeling a bit of strength return to his body after the short-lived break. "We're up!"He steadied himself in front the rolling cage. Firm hands gripped the bars to get a feel for its weight. With a quiet grunt and strong pull, they went forward, accelerating no better than a snail. Sir Hopsalot stationed himself atop the steel box, eyes and ears alert for any sign of danger. Not soon after they got moving, a cardboard silhouette popped into his side view and swung at his head. He threw an arm up to block the attack and winced at the blunt impact. The automata wound back for a second try, so the armoured rabbit sprung over the boy and sank its teeth through the enemy's flat shoulder, literally and figuratively disarming the aggressor. "Wait, that's a great idea!" Kutsu bent low to inspect the dummy for damage before picking up the dropped bat. This would spare him so many bruises. Satisfied, the crew re-embarked. One hand held the scavenged weapon up high as a precaution while the other tugged the cage along, barely maintaining its crawl. Apprehension wormed its way into his thoughts. When he was observing the others, his focus had been on the ones in the spotlight, not the antagonists of the show. The order of enemy appearances flew over his head, and this was the price to pay. So when a gunman jumped out and fired at the crew, he yelped and waved his bat blindly and without effect. The pellet ricocheted off a metal rung, and sweat congregated on his forehead. A centimeter off position and it would've been back to the start. Equally startled, Sir Hopsalot elected to chomp off the enemy's legs, toppling the cardboard cutout. His eyes widened. High off an innovative fervor, the blue-haired student abandoned the bat and substituted it with the fallen cardboard scrap. He pressed it against the cage, placed himself at the back corner, and started to push instead of pull. "Do that again, Hops!" he exclaimed. "And take the blind spot on the other side." Excitement motivated him to pick up the pace, just slightly. Bats were easy. They were bulky, a little slow, and within kicking range. Guns, on the other hand, were sneaky. These weapons could afford to be placed farther away from the rails, and his plushie simply wasn't fast enough to take them down before they got a few shots in. All it took to restart was one hit. But with corrugated corpses acting as shields, Kutsu could afford to ignore the long-ranged enemies, since pellets don't carry enough momentum to jostle the transport setup too badly. Though he was able to hold the remains of the cardboard villain up to shield the figurine within, the other side of the cage was still completely vulnerable, and he'd already withdrawn enough luck from his reserve of close calls with that first pellet striking the metal between the gaps. So when the second gunman's attack was thwarted by the makeshift shield, he threw a celebratory punch into the air. It worked! Following orders, Sir Hopsalot munched off the legs again and nudged the severed half closer to his creator. Here, Kutsu stood confounded. His wingspan wasn't long enough to hold two pieces of cardboard and push the cage. Utilizing his battle bunny was an option, but then who'd take out the bat guys? Then came a second stroke of ingenuity. He halted their movements and waited. Looks like they weren't going to trigger another villain here, but he couldn't waste another second. The boy unzipped his track jacket and pulled it off his torso. Scrambling, he zipped it back up and did his best to seal off the openings with unskilled knots. He spent more time struggling to tie off the neck and waist holes than he'd have liked, but after enough sweat and labour, he'd hacked together an incredibly ugly, jacket-shaped soldier. Without stuffing, his creation couldn't properly support itself, but he was able to spritz it with the last of his tears, officially depleting his reserve, and wrapped it around the cardboard and metal. "Hold this here. Okay, er, Gymmie?" An improvised name for an improvised maneuver. The power trio sailed smoothly through the rest of the onslaught with Gymmie defending port, Kutsu covering starboard, and Sir Hopsalot above as the mast-mounted cannon. At the finish line, their blue-haired captain rewarded his crew with another circle of high-fives. "We should work on that more later," he panted, wiping away the sweat on his face with the edge of his T-shirt. The only reason his track jacket contraption succeeded was thanks to this training environment, but in a legitimate rescue scenario, he couldn't have afforded the time to pull it off. But with some modifications, there was potential to use his quirk in a new way.

Sometimes the only pay-off for having any faith Is when it's tested again and again everyday I'm still comparing your past to my future It might be your wound but they're my sutures As the explanation of the third course was taking place, Naoru tilted his head to the side lightly in deep thought. If his assumptions were correct, bodily speed was little help on this next installment, unless a student was intending to block every possible attack with their own body while pushing the cage toward the finish line. He frowned. A steady pace and reaction time was what was needed, but the fact the student had to move the cage and also keep an eye out and block attacks was making it yet more complicated. He realized he wouldn’t be able to just pick up the cage and do the same maneuvers he did before, unless he wanted to restart for injuring the civilian he was carrying. ‘Looks like it is time to be a human shield again.’He was kind of getting used to it. With a deep breath, he walked to the cage when there was no other student on the course he set his eyes on, and readied his Aura. The white substance spread out toward the sides of the cage, creating a makeshift shielding system, but he had to thin it out as much as possible to be able to cover both sides and his own back as well. He knew he wouldn’t be able to keep this stance up for the whole length of the course, but for the start, it is best to be as cautious as possible until he can ascertain a pattern and come up with a better strategy. Not long after he started pushing the cage and he was on his way, a villain popped up toward his right, with a bat in hand. With a short delay, after he noticed it, it raised its weapon to smash at the cage, but Naoru was ready to intercept by that time. Without even moving from his place behind the cage, his Aura thickened and reached out, knocking the cut-out back down on the ground. The Aura spread out again, taking its previous position to cover the side of the cage. Naoru grit his teeth. He was right, he wouldn’t be able to keep this up for too long, While keeping his Aura in a set form was easy, changing the form and hardening it was tiring his mind, and he could already feel his concentration wavering. Pushing forward with a steady pace, he noticed the next attack coming from his right, but this time, the weapon seemed to be a gun, not unlike the turrets from the course before. He hardened his thin Aura and lowered its sensitivity when he could feel the pellets hitting it, then as soon as the barrage stopped, he knocked it down with another attack of his own. Long and short range as well. He wasn’t sure if the appearances of the villains were random, and he wasn’t sure if there was a chance for two popping up at the same time, but that probably wasn’t the point. As the third villain appeared, wielding a gun yet again, Naoru was more than seventy-five percent positive that the course was entirely random. Searching a pattern was meaningless, he concluded, as the pellets were blocked, and the villain knocked flat yet again. He winced when the aftershock of the barrage sent a jolt of pain through him from where his Aura was hit, but after assessing the damage, it seemed there were no cracks in the white shroud for now. If he took it slow, and only reached with his Aura when he saw the attack coming, he will be able to reserve energy. He pulled his Quirk back to his body, letting it form a cape-like cloak around him that would be quick enough in movement. He had to keep its hardness as low as possible to have the necessary speed to reach for the attacks. He will have to up his defense only when the attack was coming in. The downside was that he might not have enough time to down his sensitivity as well, but he will worry about pain when the time comes. He pushed the cage, and when the next villain popped up with a bat, he stopped and moved to the side, closer to it. The bat was swung and came down, but Naoru blocked it with his left hand before it would reach the bars of the cage. A well timed punch from his right was enough to neutralize it and send it back down to the ground. With a nod, he assured that it would indeed work. There was no need to keep shielding the whole cage, as his dexterity was enough to get in position in time and block only where it was necessary. He kept pushing. The cage was not yet touched by the opponents, and with the careful pace he was setting, the mannequin wasn’t trashing inside either. In a certain way, it is lucky he wasn’t the speedy type – he could take his time without getting impatient. Looking back and forward to measure the length of the course, it seemed he was already past the halfway line with four opponent taken care of. That meant there were at most four more villains ahead. He couldn’t be hasty now. From the corner of his eyes, he saw a villain appear with a turret in “hand”, and he was ready to intercept. Stepping to the side he sent the edge of his “cape” forward, following it and hardening it to block the gunfire. Grunting as the pellets hit him, he cursed himself for being too slow at lowering his sensitivity in turn. While his Aura was durable and could block an airsoft gun’s attacks, it was as if his own skin was bombarded without any protection. He could take the hit, but the pain was still there, and in his case, pain was more dangerous. A kick was enough to get the villain out of the way, and Naoru returned to push the cage, taking a deep breath. The pain wasn’t big, but as he tried to concentrate on control, he could see blotches of shadows in his line of sight, and he had to shake his head to clear it. It would be bad to let himself spiral into panic right in the middle of a class assignment, so instead he returned his focus onto the route ahead. The bat-wielding villain that popped up was defeated quickly as he stepped toward it and knocked it down, not letting it connecting a hit at the cage. He did not care of the cracks in his white cape at all. The finish was near. The next villain, the last one, earned a yelp of pain and a frustrated punch to the face for the pellets it sent toward the cage and Naoru. Reaching the end, he opened the cage and set the civilian free from the confines. Why was it inside a cage at all? Getting it out and escaping with only the civilian would have been much more logical. ‘Oh right. Class rules.’He shook his head to clear it again, making sure that his mind was still in the present. There were cracks in his Aura. It must have been weird seeing these web-like cracks on a substance that looked more like cloth right now. Were there still more tasks to take care of, he wondered. It was time for the final round and Cian was happy to see the different way his students handled each course. He could see them becoming more creative and exploring the limits of what they could do with their quirks and how that was going to prepare them for the real deal. So handed things in different ways and didn't even use their quirks at all. Others relied on their heavily and made short work of what was set up. What was most important of all, though, was that they took the lessons they learned from the classes and practiced them, even outside of class. This techniques and situations were going to come back in the future and it could mean the difference between life or death. Cian's job was to prepare the students for this and hope that they would recall what was taught to them to save as many people as possible. Even this last lesson was going to be an important one. He stepped over to the final course and pointed over to the mannequin's spread out in the area. There was one for each of the students. However, unlike the other mannequins, these were equipped with quite a few accessories.
A number of pines lined the seams of the mannequin, mostly around important areas that a people would need to grab in order to move a mannequin. And once the mannequin was lifted off the ground, it would start to automatically twist and turn to break the grip of the people that were carrying them. The mannequin was designed to be a painful nuisance that was hard to handle and carry. "Not everyone will jump into your arms when you are there to rescue them. Some will fight back against you, or even be the villain you were just fighting. They might want to stay to accept their fate or to continue to try and save someone that is beyond saving. It is here that you as a hero will have to make hard and important decisions. You'll have to rescue them against their will and they will fight back. This will simulate that." He then pointed his other hand toward the first course. "I'd like each of you to take an extra troublesome mannequin through the very first course. Please do well to fight through the pain and hassle to save their lives."

Post by Akane Satsuki on Aug 22, 2018 20:42:12 GMT -4
Akane Satsuki "It's... Like a load off my shoulders!" Crimson Hare Resisting assistance? I suppose it’s possible if they’re disorientated or panicked… Frowning a little as their teacher described the reasoning behind their final round of casualty handling, Akane Satsuki lifted her hand up and twisted a finger up as she considered the information she had been given carefully. Initially assuming that if one was in trouble that they’d welcome a helping hand wherever it was offered, now that the notion was challenged the redhead could see a certain pragmatic logic in the words of their masked teacher, but was a little shocked by what she had said next.
Rescuing criminals? I… Hadn’t even considered that! Blinking in surprise as Cian-sensei also noted that the most likely people to resist the rescue process were the folk who had caused it, the young rabbit realized that for all of her desire to become a hero she had never even considered the fate of wrongdoers once their machinations were undone. Leaving someone to die or something does seem like something a ‘bad guy’ would do… I’m ashamed I had never thought of helping out yesterday’s enemies... Not particularly battle minded but even then having that kind of childish mentality that assumed that once an enemy was vanquished they somehow ceased to exist, Akane found her world being shaken by the viewpoint and not in a good way.
If we’re not better than the criminals, we can’t call ourselves heroes! Feeling now that she had treated the role of a hero in a frivolous and callous manner, whilst it was a little worrying to realize the reckless disregard she had shown, the green eyed girl did something she had gradually begun to pick up while studying at UA. Taking a situation where she disappointed herself and using it as a reason to make herself stronger both in body and mind, the young rabbit found a strong urge within her to do better in future and made a mental note to try and be more open minded in her actions. After all, wasn’t the reason some turned to crime because society didn’t treat them like people in the first place? How could she stand up one day as an example of heroism and be so lacking in compassion? Principles and tolerance were things Miss Satsuki clearly also needed to train.
The do look rather uncomfortable to carry, I hope those barbs don’t hurt too much… Shuffling over to the ‘upgraded’ mannequins as she considered the ignorant attitude she had shown and sizing up the challenge that lay before her, with a slightly reluctant hand Akane reached forward and lightly pawed the barbs to see how much they might hurt her. Not too bad, I might be able to manage… Touching the spiny areas with her fingers gently and happy to discover they didn’t seem quite sharp enough to prickle any more than a house cactus by her reckoning, the scarlet haired student nodded and crouched down in order to pick up the training dummy, knowing she would be uncomfortable but could tolerate it for the few minutes it would hopefully take for her to complete the course. However, as she tugged her ‘passenger’ upward, she wasn’t expecting it to fight back. “K-KYAHH!” Letting out a shriek as the moment she took the mannequin into the air that it began to flail like it was filled with snakes or eels or something that loved to thrash and wiggle around, with the unexpected momentum and the fright she received Miss Satsuki toppled backward, landing on her rear with rather a red face. Looking around herself sheepishly and filled with embarrassment to have let out both her cry and been floored by a writhing dummy, after taking a moment to steady her breathing and her nerves the young woman moved back into a squatting position and took a second attempt at the task and this time managed to wrestle the wriggling object across her shoulders.
Those spines feel a lot worse when they’re moving, digging into you… Grimacing at the feeling of having something prickly and animated flailing around her shoulders as she pushed herself back into a standing position, the crimson haired teen winced a couple of times as the movement of the dummy made its spines jab into her neck most prominently but attempted to tough things out as best she could. Just try to bear with it as best you can… Shifting her grip and forced to use both arms in order to steady the protesting passenger to stop it from falling off her shoulders as she set off toward the course at a wobbling and uneven pace, because of the spines every few steps Akane found she was forced to shift the position of the thrashing dummy in order to provide her with a temporary discomfort but it didn’t help much as the feeling always seemed to return.
At least I know my way around this one… Moving in an on and off fashion toward the first challenge in the course and finding herself glad not to be presented this time by armed obstacles and instead a simple wall, in a way something that was familiar to her felt like a relief to Miss Satsuki and she took a deep breath before plunging into the zig-zagging labyrinth. However, the tight environment seemed a bit of a challenge to her this time around. “O-Oh!” Slipping into the series of walls as she tried to restrain the dummy on her arms and losing her focus for a moment, after automatically turning as one would when faced with a wall the jerky nature of her movement and the flailing of the dummy led to disaster as she lost her balance slightly and clonked the head of her mannequin against one of the surfaces accidentally.
Cian-sensei didn’t mention whether or not we had to redo things if we bumped our dummy this time, is it OK to just continue? Freezing in place as she realized what she had done and looking toward the path that extended before her for several seconds as she wondered what she might do, in the moment the redhead reasoned that the explanation was vague enough that it left a lot open to interpretation. Tempted to continue on as if nothing had happened since the challenge here seemed to be more handling the struggling person rather than someone who might be further injured, Akane wondered if she was OK bending the rules this once given how much the task was hurting her shoulders and arms where she gripped the dummy.
If it was a real situation, I couldn’t just ignore a mistake. Perhaps affected a bit by the humbling moment earlier on in the descriptive phase of the exercise, though it was frustrating the scarlet haired student decided that even if it was something that might be OK with the lesson plan it wasn’t OK with her own sense of integrity. This writhing companion she was carrying almost like the weight of her ignorant sin earlier on, with a sigh Miss Satsuki turned back toward the starting point of the course and began again. She wasn’t sure what their masked mentor might make of her action, but to her this seemed the honest course of action.
Here we go again! The return to the starting point a little easier because it felt OK to hold the mannequin a little more sloppily as she shuffled back to the beginning, after steadying her position and letting out a long sigh the girl set off once more, feeling more determined than ever to succeed. Slowly, carefully. Even if it’s just one step at a time. It hurts but don’t rush it! Reaching the series of walls this time a little bit faster, despite the fact that her neck, shoulders and the lower part of her arms were aching because of repeated jabs and stings from the dummy, Akane mentally reminded herself not to move too hastily as it would only result in another do-over. Taking the message in her head to heart and stepping squarely with each foot, making sure her weight and balance was ready for any of those wriggling motions, she took a very sedate pace through the overlapping surfaces and emerged in a speed that might have made a tortoise blush. However, she was focused on the next challenge.
I needed my quirk for this last time, so… Letting out a low sigh as she shifted her appearance into that of a girl with tall white ears and a fluffy tail, as the White Rabbit quirk she possessed asserted itself and her legs felt stronger she set off, but unlike the first round not in a sprint. I’m not sure if I’ll be able to keep my balance if I run, I’ll have to proceed steadily but strongly! Taking advantage of her longer gait while in her bunny form and also those powerful muscles to drive herself up the incline one step at a time, Miss Satsuki let out slow breaths as she moved to try and ease the discomfort and the resulting anxiety she felt from it. Unsure of how much longer she might be able to last carrying this ornery object given how sore she was getting from its prickly spines, she chose to focus on moving one step at a time and though she was panting by the time that she reached her ‘summit’ the girl neither stopped nor let her quirk melt away either.
I’m not sure how much more stamina I have in this form, but these strong legs help with a ‘person’ on my shoulders that acts like this… Groaning a little as she forced herself to keep up the form she had already used so many times before today, despite the fact that she had a few minutes between each use to recover the stress of repeated uses was starting to catch up with her and seeming to only add to her discomfort. One wrong move and I could slip… Downhill isn’t as easy like this. Ignoring this as best she could however, she took advantage of the power and stability her lower limbs offered in order to make it down the other side.
Now the under-over… It might be better to be a little smaller for this, anyway… Wobbling as she moved but finally reaching a level path again, she released her quirk and hoped she wouldn’t need it for the rest of the challenge that lay ahead of her, knowing what to expect from her previous attempt. Still, with the way it’s wriggling, this is pretty tight overhead… Eyeing the opening under which she would have to pass with a little anxiety as she knew how tricky she had found the task when her petulant passenger was far more placid, Akane stood in place for a second or two to gather herself before ducking as low as she could.
I’ll have to keep him as steady as possible, otherwise there’s no way to make it through! Leaning forward as she kept her knees bent with her rear practically dragging along the ground as she moved, Miss Satsuki shifted the position of her arms so as to firmly trap the arms and legs of her mannequin as best she could before proceeding. Naturally the tightness of her grip meaning that the barbs on her ‘buddy’ dug into her harder than ever, the redhead let out a groan as she moved forward and this pressure brought small beads of tears to the corners of her eyes. Barely even wanting to move the tiny space she needed to breathe as she slipped underneath the obstacle and let out a large gasp of relief when she finally cleared it.
“W-Whoa!” This feeling of liberation seeming to make her body relax enough just to let her body to be overwhelmed slightly by the endlessly struggling dummy which straddled her shoulders, she stumbled forwards in an off balance manner and almost fell over. That was close! Tripping but managing to use the obstacle that next presented itself like a hand rail as she stumbled and ended up on her knees with her left hand resting on the wall she was meant to climb over, Akane was glad to see that while she had not performed the most graceful of recoveries she had managed to avoid dropping her mannequin and in an odd manner that pushed her to complete this challenge with gusto.
“Let’s do this.” Nodding and letting out one last heavy breath as she straightened herself out with her flailing companion still trying to resist the process, once again Miss Satsuki rested her rear on the wall and one by one lifted her now weak legs over the obstacle to finally completely the course. Standing up and walking toward the drop off point for her dummy on legs that were a little bowed, the breath of the green eyed beauty was short as she slumped back down onto her knees and dropped her mannequin off, feeling almost a hint of peace as she watched its movements die down and become still as it was laid on the floor.
“Unnngggg…” Groaning as she pushed off the ground and stood up with her shoulders and thighs throbbing from the cumulative stress they had been put through, Akane grimaced slightly as she rubbed the area around her neck as she felt the discomfort there but at the same time found that her body felt lighter than it ever had before. Taking a slow path through that last challenge with something heavy and awkward but experiencing an uplifting feeling in her success, even this subdued girl couldn’t help but smile at the result she had achieved. Sure it had only been a simple practice really but a sense of achievement filling her, while she expected that she hadn’t been the best performer in the class, all the same the young woman felt a little stronger and a little wiser for what she had done today. She also felt like she hadn’t been the worst student here either, which felt like a step up from the last challenge Cian-sensei had offered… 2366 Words • @tag • NOTES

The American had simmered down by the time Glave-sensei was finished explaining the last exercise and regained his composure for the most part. Getting hit really grinded his gears, though, and it was something he would have to work on in the future if he wanted to be a Pro Hero. Anybody who lost their shit after just being smacked around a couple of times would be worthless in a fight against an actual villain, so he needed to get used to it in order to improve.
A female shriek caught his attention and made him freeze for a second as his red gaze turned to the source, which turned out to be the cute rabbit quirked redhead he didn’t catch the name of before. He caught the tail end of the fall and was a little disappointed he didn’t get a rear view of that incident before turning back to his own mannequin. Rabbit girl had an insanely good quirk for stuff like this, so she would likely finish before him even if she was kind of a wimp. She was super cute, though, so he made a mental note to talk to her after class to see if he could get to know her a little bit better.
But now wasn’t the time for that. Now was the time to pick up this damned mannequin and complete the course again. Karmic justice came to the delinquent almost immediately, however, because in his first attempt to pick up the mannequin the little shit squirmed right out of his grasp and fall back to the ground. ”All right you little shit.” he muttered under his breath as he took a step back and used his own shadow to create what amounted to an inky appendage to both pick up and restrain the mannequin. The appendage was strengthened with the shadow from the mannequin itself when it was picked up from the ground to ensure that the little bastard couldn’t wiggle its way out of his quirk.
He would just rely on his quirk entirely for this last exercise, fuck it. He hadn’t used it an awful lot in the last few exercises, at least in terms of weight of matter created. The boy could probably sustain his quirk for the entirety of this course if he made it snappy. Using the nearby shadows of his classmates, he conjured another skateboard and skated to the start of the course while holding the struggling mannequin up with his shadow appendage behind him about six inches off the ground. The turns in the first part of the section were extremely sharp, but he knew they were coming and slowed down to a complete stop and reformed the skateboard with nearby shadows at every turn. It was fast and easy going, but between the exhaustion from before and relying on his quirk this heavily his body started to feel strangely colder in a way he couldn’t really explain.
The next obstacles was just the stairs, and he jogged at a brisk pace up and down it in an effort to get some heat back in his limbs, but instead the feeling of being strangely cold and still tired never went away. This was the slowest part of the course by far because he couldn’t use his quirk to make this easier in any real way, so he had to just use his worn out legs like a normal person. His breathing got noticeably worse during this point because of the extended time it took and the fact that he had nothing except how long the staircase was both ways and the struggling mannequin behind him to really distract himself from just now tired he was becoming.
Oh well, it was time for the next obstacle. The walls that forced you to go under and then over. With a struggling mannequin the harder one of the two would be going under, so Alex stopped right in front of the obstacle and strengthened the construct appendage around the mannequin until it was more like a cocoon just small enough to fit through the opening and rolled it through with his actual hands before lying down on the skateboard and pushing himself through as well by paddling with his hands on the ground. Once he was past it, he made sure to get rid of the excess shadows around the mannequin, so it was more of a constructed appendage that allowed a bit of wiggle room instead of an unnecessary cocoon.
The one going over was easy enough, and he just let his skateboard dissipate as he used the shadow of the wall itself to create steps for him to just walk straight up and down over the obstacle. The damn mannequin struggling forced a lot of concentration from the boy so his constructs weren’t quite as neat as they normally were. The odd feeling of being cold intensified to the point where it honestly started to worry him. He was starting to shiver, and that was completely and utterly unnatural after being engaged in exercise for so long. This wasn’t normal.
For the last stretch of the course, he rematerialized his skateboard from the other end of the wall’s shadow and just kicked with his foot until he was at the end of the course and gently put the still struggling mannequin down at the finish line as he struggled to control the shivers running through his body. He touched his face and felt it was unnaturally cold, and that really started to freak him out a bit. There was sweat there, which was normally there to cool your body down when it overheated right? Then why in God’s name was he freezing at the end of this course? It didn’t make sense! He crouched down as he waited for the others to finish trying to rub some feeling and warmth back into his legs with limited success. His hands didn’t have much feeling in them either due to them being ice-cold as well for whatever reason, so he didn’t exactly have much success on that front and mostly just kind of continued shivering in the corner while he awaited further instruction.

Mari Yakobu Class 1-C || Code Name || Heavy Breather Mari walked over to her mannequin after the explaination and started to size it up. There seemed to be small spikes along the seams. The seams weren't even that well sewn on. A single stitch, for roughly used fabric? Oh come on now. Hearing Miss Satsuki yell out, after picking up hers and then seeing Mr. DeRaine struggle with his, Mari had to measure her approach. Her foot came up on the neck of her dummy and lifted it up a little. No squirming. The moment it's shoulders came off the ground though it started to writhe. Good to know.
After the mannequin fell off her toe, she walked around and lifted the legs. Nothing. The waist came up fine. It was when the torso came off the ground when it came alive. Seemed the sensors were in the chest cavity. Made sense. She positioned herself between the mannequin's legs, back towards it and bent down. Her hands moving the ankles of her partner up and under her biceps held in place by her chest and hands. She kept low so the torso didn't come off the ground as she started walking. They were not told how to take this one through it. Probably figuring most students would try the fireman's carry again. As she walked, she was passed by the others again. But she just kept going as a smile.
The turns were wider with her trailer behind her, making sure it didn't hit the walls as it was dragged. She was trying to think where she saw this before as she came around the last curve. Moving towards the ramp, it finally struck her. This was how grandpa used to get her to bed when she was younger and she wanted to stay up and read with grandma. She was usually kicking and screaming the entire way there. Moving up the ramp brought the first sudden surprise. There was a moment when the torso lifted off the ground because the level of the ground changed. This caused the body to thrash around. However, instead of digging in with pressure, the spines of the mannequin dragged quickly across the sensative skin under her arms and caused her to laugh uncontrollably. Her feet loosing traction causing her to fall back to the bottom.
It took her a second to calm down, but what a hiccup. Fortunately you can't drop what is already on the ground. So Mari just had to rise back to her feet and try again. Turning her back to the ramp, she bent over again to grab it's ankles and started to pull it up. This time, when it started wriggling, she was able to move it back to the solid surface and drag it up the ramp. At the top, she readjusted herself. She was back to the medic stretcher drag and moved slowly down the steps. She was laughing the entire time, but it just caused her hand to tighten up. Her legs were wobbly at the bottom as she fell with the legs falling atop of her. Her breathing was starting to get ragged at this point. Laughing was a rapid course of inhaling and exhaling. And she was doing way to much too fast. She had to sit back on the steps to catch her breath. Hand over her heart, she felt it racing like a jetliner.
The next section were the doors. She knew the last one was broken, but the first was a doozy. Pushing herself more, she took the ankles in the grasp again and trudged through to the door. Once there, she had to center herself. Grabbing it's hand, she stepped over it's chest, swung it up and over her shoulder feeling it writhe and thrash around. Her leg swining over and an elbow caught the side of her head as she straddled it, her body falling forward, left knee slamming into the ground. She yelped out in pain before crawling on her knees towards the broken wall and across the finish line. She collpased right at the end face first to the ground.

phantom grip And just as they asked for the teacher to make things a little harder, the next phase was exactly the challenge they had been waiting to crush.
"More of the same, sensei? That's lame! Totally lame!" The girl moaned out, still having no idea that there was a cheeky twist to the following set of mannequins. Of course, the spines running across their seams were eventually noticeable, yet, she gave it all the same expression. An expression of boredom, which was something she quite despised. Doing the same thing, over and over again. It just wasn't her favorite kind of class. Probably the worst, matter of fact.
Unfortunately, she was being fooled.
With the way she walked, slowly and disappointingly, she clearly wasn't going to be the first to start. This made her at least not be caught off guard when hoisting up her own mannequin. Just as one of her classmates had been the one to do it first, her gaze widens and she's shocked for that very brief moment. The moment the doll itself proceeded to twist and turn in an immensely sporadic manner, threatening to escape from whatever grip was kept on them. "Wh-Wha?" Mira was completely bamboozled, having no way of expecting such a thing. She thought the only detail that was different would be the spikes, making it slightly harder to scoop the mannequin. Though, for it to also have a rotating mechanism...
... It was just the challenge she looked for.
"Heh... Haha! Now this is what I'm talking about!"
A kick off the ground was made then, quickly closing the gap with the mannequin of her choosing. "Here we go, here we go..." The teen mumbled to herself in anticipation, scraping her hands together with a glimmer in her eyes which easily hinted at alarmingly growing ecstasy. Finally, her arms carefully come around the mannequin itself, hoisting it up in the same manner which was taught during the first part of the class.
Then it starts! It starts twisting and turning like a madman. "Woaah...! Woaaah!" She wavily voices out, having even trouble keeping her own balance as she is seen hopping from spot to spot, crouching down even and avoiding having the doll touch the ground even once. She was successful, but it took her at least painful long seconds to keep a tight grip. Now came the hardest part. To move through the entire first course once more.
"Oof... This is gonna be a challenge, huh...?! But that's what I like...!" Mira excitedly grumbled, anyone nearby looking at her and probably thinking that she was just even more insane than the mannequin itself. "Thinking about it... I could use my quirk... But, hmm... If this was a real person, it wouldn't work, so it wouldn't make sense for me to use it here either..." Thoughts, thoughts, thoughts. Pondering ways to find the best case scenario. The best process to go about the entire exercise. It was truly a challenge.
"I'll just go...!"
She took the risk, spending more time than usual thinking and already noticing the rest of her classmates already going on ahead. She takes each step cautiously, looking up and down to make sure that she wouldn't somehow slip or stumble on something ahead. If that happened, it would be game over. "Uck... Dang it...!" Sometimes it even slapped her, knee'd her on the face. Though, Mira would stay strong. She wouldn't allow herself to be brought down. The teen obviously took this as seriously as reality.
Eventually, minutes would pass and she was already taking double the time she used to do the first course at the beginning with the normal mannequin. Seeing as she was no prodigy either, there was only a small chance of her being able to do a clean sweep of the class, as in being able to crush every course without even failing once. Repeat after repeat was done. "C'mon, Mira...! Third time's a charm...!" And now it was her third attempt.
Knowing more or less how to do the obstacles she had already gone through before, the girl makes her way through the walls easily, balancing herself when she needed, and mustering the right strength of the grip when it was called for. The ramp and the stairs were more of a challenge though. There were times where she almost stumbled, slipped. Where the doll would come extremely near to falling on the ground. "Yes, yes, yes... Almost down..." Mira already possessed a glistening forehead too, with all the sweat that was built up through the entire exercise. It called for a lot of physical exertion too, and that alone was enough to make her satisfied.
"Calm down, calm down..." It could have been to her as well, though all of that mumbling and whispering was actually aimed at the doll, crazily turning and twisting itself to try and break from Mira's grip. The spikes weren't helping either. They somehow managed to push off the handling she kept upon the wooden humanoid figure, yet at the last second she was still able to regain her composure and keep on going without having to repeat the entire thing.
In the end, the following down and up walls were about as difficult as the ramp and the stairs, something she was able to barely pass through. "Aghh..." She was almost there, she was so close. So cloooose. And upon safely placing down the mannequin, she dropped down herself, panting harshly, with her belly up and gazing wide up at the roof with an exhausted expression.
"Uff... Uff... Aahhh... N-Now that was what I needed, sensei..." Mira announced to the teacher, chuckling some at the end. It was time for some recovery. A very much needed rest, indeed. 16 y/o | 167 cm 962 words @class
