Musutafu at night had always made Sora feel something. The lights of the city against the backdrop of the night’s darkness, people bustling to and fro trying to squeeze in more moments of their day before it ended. While it wasn’t breathtaking, it was somewhat inspiring, almost enough to make her want to join. But she wouldn’t be able to right now, she had a job to do. Sora, prowled through the dark nooks and crannies of Musutafu, making her way to her destination. She stopped in a secluded alley to pull out her phone to check her map to make sure she was headed the right way. Her finger swiped off the map and brought up the details of her current job she’d written down in a word document. She mumbled the details to herself as she read her notes then slipped her phone back into her pocket and continued to move. She was almost at her destination.
She took a few more turns through the maze of cramped spaces before she finally emerged in a dimly lit alley. The shady place was illuminated by the light coming from businesses and street lights across from it. Her eyes scanned the area, her eyes laying their sight upon a fire exit attached to the side of the building. “Perfect, secluded and high up enough.” She climbed back down and quickly got to work. She pulled out another phone from her pocket, a phone provided by her client. It was set up to be able to be left behind after the job was done, it’s purpose was to stream the target’s actions over to the client, whatever happened to the phone after that didn’t matter. She set up the phone on a phone holder with a bendy arm and attached it to the fire exit. Sora fiddled with the phone to make sure it had a good view of the chaos that was about to go down before starting the stream..
“Time to go to work.” Her hand reached inside her coat and pulled out a white mask with slanted oval holes cut into it for her eyes and a black curved line marking a wide smile. She put the mask on, tied her hair into a ponytail to not get in the way, pulled her coat tighter to her body, and opened the fire exit door open, just in case she needed to duck inside. Finally she willed her Quirk into action, energy flooding out of her and forming a sniper rifle in her hands, attached to it was a scope and a suppressor. The familiar weight of a firearm in her arms gave her a feeling of assurance. As she aimed down the alley and into the lit poetry cafe that stood across the street.
She peered through the scope and lined up her shot. Tonight’s target was the Pro Hero Angel, though it felt wrong using the word ‘target’ in the job’s context. “Let’s make this quick. Sorry miss but it’s time for a hair cut.” Her aim adjusted to make sure she missed the woman who was with Angel by a hair’s width, essentially to shoot off a few threads of hair, before pulling the trigger. Immediately after she aimed the rifle at the cafe’s door, and shot the door knob, destroying the mechanisms that allowed it to turn before snapping her aim back to the cafe proper and letting loose a few more shots to graze the other patrons of the cafe. Best to keep up the pressure, and she wasn’t going to run out of bullets any time soon.
The evening’s chaos was heralded by the thundering cracks of gunfire.
