"Well well well. You are Ingrid Fabbri...odd. i thought you'd be older."
A figure was dangling from an open window, clad in leather and purple clothes. The steel tipped boots were left up on the window frame as the young male let his presence known the moment the young egineer entered her room.
"You have made me wait, didn't you? Still tinkering away in your little cove down there?" He would taunt, pointing at her garage. He would turn to the outside and look at the dusk sky quickly turning night time. If he had to guess, he was waiting there for about an hour. Turning back over to her, he would casually pluck the air and pull an invisible string, causing the door to her room behind her to disappear. "I am Weaver. Pleasure to meet you." He would continue, unfazed, playing with something that was not there, an imaginary string wrapped around his hand. "Though you don't know who I am, understandable. Why don't you sit down all nice and quiet like a good girl?"
He motioned to her bed and casually raised his left arm to show what he was holding. It loomed like a gun, probably a .45, suppressed. "I would really hate to cut our little business talk short. I am here to offer you an exciting job to do."

| ◀ | Prezioso fascio di gioia ❤ Ingrid yawned. Despite how easy the smart girl made it look, engineering was no easy task. Working on building and upgrading tech all day was tiring. Still very fun for the girl, but definitely tiring. Having been hard at work all day, Ingrid just wanted to go to her bad and collapse on top of it. Perhaps lie down for a few hours before finishing things up. A nap sounded pretty nice right about now. So that's what the girl decided to do. She smiled, being very eager to rest her great mind and body.
That was until an unfamiliar voice addressed her by name upon opening her bedroom door and stepping inside.
Ugh, really?
Ingrid went from tired but cheerful to very annoyed in no time. Who the hell was this guy? How does he know her name? And how the hell did he manage to make his way over here completely undetected? Ingrid was sure that the security system was on and functioning normally. And where the hell was Beta? If someone could somehow find a way to bypass the security system, then Ingrid would think that her robot bodyguard would at least be competent enough to keep a sharp eye out for any possible intruders. Where the hell is Beta? I swear, when I find that digital dummy...
But before worrying about her companion, Ingrid needed to address the uninvited guest here. "Ooh, so you know who I am, do you? I guess I should feel flattered since you chose to come here in person. You know, most people would just call my number, or send me a text, or email me or something if they wanted to get in touch with me. Or hell, just ring the doorbell or knock on the front door if you want my attention. Was this whole breaking in through my bedroom window thing really necessary?" This was one very dedicated stalker. Oh, I made you wait? Ingrid rolled her eyes as she thought to herself. Sorry for somehow not knowing that someone I had literally never seen or met before in my life wanted to see me. Jeez buddy, you certainly put the usual stalkers to shame!
If this wasn't a stalker, then this guy was someone who knew very well the true nature of this not so innocent young lady's profession. Though that raised the question of how the hell this guy even found her. Ingrid was absolutely sure that she had erased all traces of her underground activities. No one should know that In-Grid and Ingrid Fabbri were one and the same. No one should have any reason to visit the Fabbri household for any reason that wasn't innocent. And yet...
It quickly became clear that this was no ordinary guy. Ingrid had half a mind to just ignore this guy and walk out of her room, perhaps shouting to get Beta over here. But before that thought could even cross her mind, Ingrid noticed the door disappearing. What the... how... how did... where did the door... I have so many questions! It was clear from the girl's expression that she was very confused, and definitely a bit unsettled. For now, she remained silent as the guy introduced himself. No point in returning the introductions, as this guy obviously knew who she was.
It also quickly became clear that this was no pleasant business meeting. Ingrid's eyes shot to the gun on the guy's hand. Seriously, where the hell was Beta right now? Though to be fair, if this guy could somehow force doors to straight up disappear, then it was doubtful that the robot bodyguard could do much to protect its master even if it was here in the room with her. Ingrid sighed as she sat down on her bed. She spoke, all the usual sweetness and joy gone from her voice. The girl sounded uncharacteristically cold and serious. "Alright, you have my attention. What do you want?" Despite being scared, Ingrid did her best to not make it obvious, doing her best to seem calm, composed, almost bored.
Ingrid listened to Weaver's words. Apparently, he wanted to offer her an 'exciting' job. Normally, whenever anyone described a job as 'exciting', it was anything but. Still, it was clear that there wasn't exactly any room for negotiation here. It didn't take a genius to guess what would happen if the girl tried to refuse. So she wouldn't even bother asking such a foolish question. Instead, it would be wiser to get all the details and learn just what exactly she was about to get herself into. "What kind of job?" |
