» Job System
The Job System allows regular players to engage in the creation of 'Job threads' much similar in nature to site sponsored events without the necessary need of Staff/Storyteller involvement. Job threads are another avenue to earn a little more experience on the side while furthering a character's personal plots and working towards their next big goal. While they necessitate of an objective and a post count, many of the story elements are left in the player's hands to decide and shape as they wish.
Job threads can be completed solo or with up to 3 other participants:
Job threads can be completed solo or with up to 3 other participants:
- When you enter a Job thread with another player, the other player's posts will count towards your required post count.
All Job threads must have a desired ending. You need to achieve this ending to be entitled for the reward. That means, even if you have the requisite post count towards your Job thread, if you haven’t accomplished its goal, then you must continue until you have.
- Example 1: Fred’s Job tread is to stop a drug smuggling ring. Fred’s player makes posts where Fred investigates the criminals, fights the drug dealers, etc, but never has Fred bust the smuggling ring. Until the player has Fred finally bringing the criminals to justice, the Job's objective is not complete.
[/ul]Job threads have no individual cooldown, but a character may be in no more than 3 total job threads in one week.
- In the event that a thread becomes stalled before it is complete due to another member going inactive or another unusual reason, then you may write up a final summary of the thread (in the thread itself) depicting what progress your character has made in the thread. While this isn’t the most fun way to end a thread, it’s an unfortunate reality of any roleplay site. You may continue your thread on your own once you’ve provided the summary, or submit it for grading if it is complete.
[li]If you overestimated your goal in the Job thread and want to revise it, simply message the staff member who graded your Job thread and ask if your goal can be revised. Sometimes we take on more than we can chew, and accomplish a lot less than we were hoping for. The staff remember will change the goal of your saga, and you can then proceed to finish it, or turn it in. [/li][/ul]

Master Plan
A Master Plan is unlike anything seen before and is to be considered a massive undertaking on a scale so grandiose that nothing else could ever rival its complexity, risks and impact on the world. This type of job thread is sure to cause widespread change and will most likely involve casualties of some kind. Master Plans not only make the news, but are straight up remembered in history. Expect Jobs of this caliber to take several months to literal years to come to fruition.
Example of a Master Plan: Civil Conflict, World War, Coup d'etat.
Due to the potential impact these jobs can have on the site as a whole, further restrictions apply:
- Any Master Plan requires a total of 4 threads of 40 posts minimum to be considered archievable and rewards a total of 20.000 XP to all the original participants if successful.
- All of the requisite threads (which we will call "Preparation Phases" for ease) need to be on par with International Operations in both scope/complexity and must all be successful for the Master Plan to have a chance to succeed.
- Each Phase thread needs to link to the previous one and be used as a stepping stone for the next Phase of the plan. Example: Become politician -> Become Senate member -> manipulate the Status quo -> Become the President.
- Only one of the requisite four Phase threads can be undertaken per month.
- All of the threads must be Death Enabled and require a Storyteller present to direct the story.
- Furthermore, players of opposing factions have the ability to invade the thread and actively hinder your progress if they so choose. If they succeed in stopping you, the Phase thread will be considered incomplete and your master plan will fail.
If all four phases of a Master Plan are deemed succesful, the Master Plan's main objective becomes archievable. Upon approval of the final Phase, a staff managed site wide event will take place where you will take center stage: the culminating finale of your master plan. The opposing faction will have one last chance to launch a final assault to bring you down. If they fail, congrats! You have archieved something only few in the world of True Path will ever be able to set their eyes on.
What happens if you fail?
In the event of the opposition succeeding in stopping your Master Plan dead in its tracks, you and your collaborators will still be rewarded 2000 XP per successfully completed Phase. The opposition will instead recieve 2000 XP per Phase thread they twarthed or actively prevented.
In the case the opposition manages to stop the Master Plan during the Site Event they will earn a bonus of 2000 XP on top of event rewards.
Be advised that Master Plans are no easy feat. By submitting a Master Plan for approval or taking part in one, you automatically agree that your character may die or face serious ripercussions as direct concequence of your actions.
