"Ladiiiiiiies and gentlemeeeeen!~" The announcer's voice as enthusiastic as ever boomed over the audience and the field. The students had been seperated into their pairs at opposite sides of the arena, allowed to change into their hero gear before coming out onto the field, with a lone hero pulled in to help control the fight standing ready in the arena. The bombastic announcer himself continued with his introductions as the rowdy crowd began to quiet down, realizing the event was about to start. "Welcome to the latest event of the day, the tag teeeeeam baaaattle!~ Today 4 students will team up into pairs and do battle to show their skills and their ability to cover eachother's weaknesses on the fly. Have these students ever worked together before? Who knows!? Maybe we'll see the work of great training, or the grand skills of improv! Now let's meet our competitors! Coming in from the red corner we have the power Echo hero Redeux and the healing blizzard Arcticade! AAAAAAAAAND in the blue corner! The gem powered Luminous lord, and the vector master hero, Chase!~"With the young heroes allowed to walk out towards the arena, they'd find the majority of the arena was a sandy plain, devoid of obstacles or anything of clear note. By design, of course, as the hero standing in the center of the arena would be able to use this to his advantage. A being made of firm orange rock, arms crossed tightly across his chest... and perhaps not the happiest to be playing babysitter to a squad of kids playfight. "'Aight... I dunno what you kids are expecting but just make sure to keep it clean. The fight'll go on for 10 minutes (OOCly, 7 rounds) and then we'll call it. We ain't lookin' for a winner here but... eh. I doubt that's gonna stop ya from gunnin' for it. Remember, the eyes of the heroes you'll be workin' with are on ya, so just make sure ya don't embaress yerselves. Jus' remember. Either of ya lot get the upper hand, I'm here to level the playin' field..."Waiting for the two teams to get any introductions done, the rocky hero Ragna-Rock took a slow breath, and nodded to the announcer booth looking over the arena, before turning on his heels to walk to the edge of the arena. "Alright... shake hands, make good, and head to your own sides. We'll start once you're all settled."

Post by Yuhiko Yuzuki on Mar 11, 2021 11:12:56 GMT -4
♔Standing in silence, Yuhiko waited for the event to begin. So much was going through his head right now. His father would be watching, seeing if the Yuzuki heir had kept his end of their deal. There was a lot at stake for him. Failure here meant getting disowned and thrown to the streets like a plebeian, which could never be allowed to happen. Losing was not an option. A mediocre victory was not an option either. No, the only acceptable outcome today was nothing less than total and absolute victory for Yuhiko. He had to rise up above all others, no matter what. He could not allow mere commoners to drag him down into obscurity with the rest of them.
Despite this, despite all these things in mind, Yuhiko was not nervous or worried. He knew how to keep a cool head. He was determined to let absolutely nothing faze him. He had done his absolute best this year to both keep himself at the top of his game and stop anyone in class 1-B from slacking off as class president. He had done everything he could and more. Now all that was left for Yuhiko to do was show everyone watching just how superior he was to the rest of the lazy commoner scum who didn't take their time in the hero school anywhere near as seriously as he did.
Yuhiko's hero outfit was finally ready, and just in time for the event. It consisted of a lightweight silver armor that resembled something royalty would wear in combat, with gloves to hide and protect the gems that grew on his hands whenever his quirk was active. He also had a detachable emerald green cape, an emerald green helmet that was shaped like a king's crown at the top, and a silver visor that let Yuhiko see clearly without needing to put on his glasses. On the forehead area of the helmet was what looked to be an embedded diamond. Overall, the costume seemed regal and heroic while still remaining practical for a real-life combat scenario. Quite fitting for one with the title of Luminous Lord.
Speaking of which, Yuhiko raised an eyebrow upon listening to the announcer's words. His face remained as impassive and expressionless as always, but his inner monologue seemed to suggest a hint of annoyance. Gem powered? Gem powered?! Why would you even say that out loud, you dolt? I made it a point to always hide the true nature of my quirk. It's why my alias doesn't immediately give away anything about what I can really do! I don't need these troglodytes to know anything more about me than what I specifically allow. Especially so if it turns out that some of these moron students watching drop out like the delinquents that they are and turn to villainy. But it was too late to do anything about it. So Yuhiko merely kept this thought to himself, pretending to remain indifferent as he walked to the arena with the others.
Yuhiko merely nodded once upon listening to the hero's words. It was a good thing that Yuhiko had gloves on, as he would have a very difficult time shaking anyone's hand otherwise. To his opponents and partner, Yuhiko only had one thing to say. "May the elite hero team stand triumphant in the end. Do try your best to perform adequately. It would be a shame if any of you held back in any capacity." There was no point in making a whole speech. Actions would speak louder than words. The only thing Yuhiko wanted in this fight was for everyone to try their absolute hardest. After all, battles were only fun if the opposition tried their very hardest to take him down. It made crushing them beneath his feet all the more satisfying. A challenge was far more interesting than a curbstomp.
With the pleasantries out of the way, it was time to get started. If Yuhiko's partner had anything to say to him, then he would grant them the luxury of not actually being ignored. Otherwise, he would just walk to his team's side of the arena, cross his arms, and silently wait for the start of the match to be declared.

Post by Dajh Amare Zane Yun on Mar 12, 2021 13:11:15 GMT -4
This was it. It was time for the sports tournament that so many people seemed to be waiting and expecting. Personally Amare had always heard of the festival from gossip amongst the other students but never actually attended one. Yet here he was not only attending but also participating. Out of all the events the one he seemed most attuned to was the tag team fight. Perhaps it was because he felt his quirk was more suited to battling others, or because it was a faint reminder, a ever distant connection to the one student who as others would put it "ruined his life." His time with Colt was memorable and painful though Amare could not seem to completely forget it. So that was why he was here, not to show off his skills, not to impress Heroes who would look to hire him in the future, or to make a name for himself. It was to desperately hold onto a fading memory of someone who he cherished but was too naïve to realize that they did not share the similar feelings towards him. Was it selfish to not care about the outcome of such an influential tournament, yes though being selfish was the one thing Colt had actually taught Amare to be during their time together. Selfish people always get what they want in the end. Wearing a quickly thrown together heroic-ish outfit made by some support students in their spare time Amare walked onto the arena his hair and outfit a shining beacon in contrast to his skin. He did not believe it at first when he saw the match ups. Of all the students he could of ended up facing in this of course it would end up being him. The one student in Amare's entire grade that grated his gears to no end, despite Amare's comically desperate attempts to better their relationship. Yuhiko Yuzuki. Or as the announcer had introduced him Luminous Lord. Even his hero name was pretentious and made Amare cringe. Thinking back Amare was not really sure what Yuhiko's quirk was nor how it really worked. Perhaps it was something with lights? Or maybe beams? If it was anything ranged, Amare knew he would run into several issues due to his own quirk being rather close ranged. But then again winning or losing was not really his goal now was it? Glancing at the ground and the crowd Amare did not feel the sensations he did when he was with Colt. The feel was all wrong. When they faced Yumi things had a more grave feeling towards them, a more "life or death" vibe that enveloped the young teens. This...this seemed more like a show. A performance that would be rated and graded and stopped if things got too far. That was not how the real world worked...at least from Amare's experience in thievery the real world held no quarter to those who risked it all. You either won or lost everything, there was no safety net. The memory of his last heist flooded his mind as a slow grin grew on his face. She never saw him coming, her screams were not what he first heard nor the last thing he heard. The soft crunch of the garlic bread however...that would be something he would never forget. And then there he was. At the center of the arena with his partner, facing off against their opponents. Yuhiko Amare immediately recognized and would attempt goad as he usually would when they were in class together. The other student Amare did not know and would definitely not focus on. Piecing things together in his head Amare would create a game plan on how to act selfishly enough to get what he wanted out of this entire performance and leave with the knowledge that it was not a waste of effort. He would provoke and egg Yuhiko on enough that it would get him mad. So mad that he would have no choice but to attack Amare with genuine ill content, so much that it would recreate the sensations he felt during his tag team match against Yumi, bringing Amare mentally and emotionally closer... to Colt.

Post by Krahno Kalo on Mar 13, 2021 15:40:32 GMT -4
Slowly but surely Krahno made his way to the arena as everyone was cheering for this event. Thing was this was not his first time in front of a big crowd but it was the first time he had moved to become part of the Sports Festival. True Krahno was not one to sign up for fighting matches often but as he grew along with his quirk he had started to grow more confident in himself and his abilities as a hero in training. How would he match up to this other team however? He saved those thoughts for later as he paced in with a different sort of outfit he would wear than normal. It was a light blue jumpsuit with different patterns of blue on it, over the jumpsuit and worn over his torso was his signature white coat that he always wore, his usual purple gloves replaced with some light blue ones to fit the theme of his hero costume. The name Arcticade was spelled out on the chest area on the jumpsuit itself. For a hero costume it looked pretty standard, well at least in Krahno's point of view. The white coat did go well with the theme of ice and snow since the blue jumpsuit looked mostly blue in color for each part of the suit. Looking over to the crowd as they roared in excitement brought him to a small bit of renewed spirit. Thing was he originally signed up for this tag team match since he knew he could perform his quirk for battle as well as healing. As the announcer took to giving out his hero name that he made up to the crowd, he didn't feel any sort of anger towards his name being announced. 'The healing blizzard huh? That could work quite well.' he thought to himself as he looked over toward his partner for this thing. They seemed to be concentrating on other things as of now. Not blaming his partner for that Krahno did however notice by following his gaze that he seemed to be focused on a particular opponent. The one that the announcer called the Luminous Lord. 'Does my partner have some sort of affiliation with this one? Well it seems that I'll find out eventually.' Krahno once again thought to himself as he heard that he had to shake hands with his opponents before making to do so. Moving to shake hands with the Luminous Lord as he was announced as Krahno's grip was very light but had a noticeable chill when he shook his opponent's hand. If it was not obvious before Krahno used ice and he intended to make this a good showing for the crowd, though he was not always a people pleaser like some other students he found himself socially awkward most of the time actually but this time he felt calm and ready to try to test his skills against his opponents. Having a healing quirk could prove useful in a tag match right? Well healing and attacking really. It was a multi-purpose quirk of sorts. Thus then name Arcticade, it meant Arctic Aid like his quirk name. It can do quite a bit with it. "Likewise. I'll be sure to give it my best shot so you do the same." Krahno said simply as he would go to shake his hand. "Also I would like to say that no matter who wins we can say we gave it our best." Krahno could tell from that guy's tone of voice that he may have some inkling to want to win no matter what. It was just a guess though as Krahno could not read minds or anything. But from the way he said it kind of made Krahno's experiences as a doctor figure out that their had to be some other reason for wanting to be here. 'The healing blizzard Arcticade. I really like how that sounds. It makes me sound cool.' Krahno once again thought to himself as he put away the thoughts of his opponent out of his mind. Moving back over toward where his partner was Krahno looked over to him with a slight grin. "You give it your best too okay?" Krahno said to his partner. Not sure if the guy even heard him. All that did matter was how they communicate in battle.

Iida Katsumi wasn’t paying attention to the others in the field of battle at first. She was busy searching the audience for someone. Her eyes quickly scanned the crowds, hoping to catch a glance of anyone resembling her only family in hopes of it actually being her grandfather. She’d been expecting him to take some time off to watch her fight but he might have not made it. When she couldn’t find in the crowd her eyes drifted over to back to her partner and the opposing team. She sighed deeply in disappointment as she approached the gathering of participants. She’d wanted to show him her prowess.
These were the students that were going to be showcasing their capabilities alongside her this day. They were her juniors schoolwise, so she didn’t know who they were until they’d been introduced by the referee for the match, Ragnarock. On the side she thought the hero’s name was imposing and clever, she found that she liked his name.
She was wearing a variation on her usual attire. A white button up shirt, jeans , a black coat closed up almost all the way, combat boots, and a visor to protect her face. It was what she could come up with for her costume and probably wasn’t a permanent thing. She might change it again for something more fitting soon. She crossed her arms as she took in the other’s appearances and hero codenames.
“Redeux, Articade, Luminous Lord, I am Hero Codename: Chase.” She began, looking at each person when she said their name and nodding. “I do not speak much, so pardon the briefness of my words.” She bowed respectfully in their general direction. “I will not mince words. This is not just a fight but a display of personal and group capability. A show of potential. Show that you made it in the Hero Course for a reason.” She uncrossed her arms.
”As a competitor, I will come at you with the intent to win, as is to be expected, as a fellow student, I’ll try my best to make sure that your capability is seen. That is all.” Her piece said she moved to return to her side of the ring. “Luminous Lord,” She spoke softly to her partner. “I’d like you to act first, in the interests of displaying your capability” She paused. “Though if you’d prefer, I could act first between the two of us and you could follow up with your own thing.”

Ragnarock looked between the two sides that had presented themselves for the fight and once again lamented the fact he was here being a glorified babysitter for some kids playing wrestling. A low sigh rumbled through his gravely lips and he stepped back from the designated fighting area, an arm raised into the air.
"Okay, simple as is. Anyone can feel free to tap out at any time, any yells of 'i give up' or anything similar will be taken as serious, no fake outs on that ya got me? Beyond that... I ain't gonna be like one of you kid's teachers and say 'have fun'. This is serious business. Impress the audience, best foot forward..."
He looked between the two sides, and suddenly dropped his arm.
"FIGHT!"

Post by Yuhiko Yuzuki on Mar 22, 2021 20:24:36 GMT -4
♔In all honesty, Yuhiko was a bit surprised at the lack of talk from Amare. From what little Yuhiko had seen of him in the chatroom, he had expected his classmate to say something ridiculous before the start of the match. But no matter. As class president, Yuhiko had made it very clear many times that he would be willing to offer help and assistance to those who need it. If Amare had no interest in wanting to improve himself by approaching Yuhiko, then Yuhiko wasn't going to force him to. Thus the lack of care or concern. If Amare had his own plan for success, then wonderful. But if not, then Yuhiko couldn't care less if his classmate decided to screw up.
As for his other opponent, Yuhiko didn't know the other one particularly well. Still, several things were made clear. First, this person seemed to be more... well Yuhiko was not a fan of puns, but if he were, he would say that the blue-skinned student was more chill, more cool-headed than Amare. Second, the announcer himself called this student the 'healing blizzard Arcticade'. This was rather illuminating, as this implied that this guy had an ice quirk and some form of healing capability. How interesting, Yuhiko thought to himself. I'll be sure to keep my eye on you. Of course, he would keep an eye on both of his opponents. The last thing Yuhiko wanted was to leave himself open to one because he was too focused on the other.
And then there was his own partner. This one seemed blunt and preferred to get straight to the point. Yuhiko approved of this, as he was never a fan of wasting time. He gave a small nod of approval upon hearing her words. This was precisely the entire point of the Sports Festival in Yuhiko's mind: To show off which students stood above the rest, and which ones were so mediocre that they deserved to be culled from the hero school.
After those words, the girl had more words to give. However, this time, it was exclusively for Yuhiko himself. He listened and then gave his short and concise reply. "Very well." It made no difference to him at the end of the day. Attacking before or after his ally did was ultimately irrelevant. In the end, Yuhiko's goal was the same: A swift and decisive victory for his team.
The announcer had a few more things to say, but it was nothing noteworthy. Yuhiko had no intention of giving up. Enduring and fighting till the very end was the way the Yuzuki heir operated. That was not going to change, now or ever. It was time to start the battle. It was time to move.
As soon as the match begun, Yuhiko would activate his quirk immediately. The ruby and sapphire gemstones grew out on each of his palms, and the emerald appeared on his forehead. Naturally, these would all be concealed by the gloves and helmet Yuhiko was wearing. Wouldn't want to give his opponents a free target to aim for, after all. For his specific plan of attack, Yuhiko would activate the ruby and sapphire. After all, he would need both power and range. For now, the emerald would not be activated. This was to help conserve energy, as Yuhiko certainly did not possess limitless stamina or energy.
As soon as he was ready, Yuhiko would create a basketball-sized sphere of fluid-like energy. While it was normally blue, this mass of energy would glow with a faint red light as it was currently infused with the power of his ruby. Ready to fire, Yuhiko began to sprint sideways, hoping to get a clear shot at his target. That target? The healing blizzard Arcticade, of course. Basic strategy would dictate that the healer should be targeted first.
But why would Yuhiko choose to sprint sideways rather than directly at his target? It was simple. He was not just keeping an eye on Krahno, but Amare as well. Yuhiko had no idea what his classmate was planning. Would he try to protect Krahno, or would Amare try and go after Yuhiko himself? Either way, Yuhiko wanted to be ready to blast someone. And frankly, he couldn't care less which of the two he hit.
So as soon as there was an opening, Yuhiko would fire the red blast towards Krahno. If, however, he saw Amare try to get in the way (either by getting in between Yuhiko and Krahno, or by trying to charge at Yuhiko directly), then Amare would become the new target for Yuhiko's attack.
Regardless of who ends up being the target of Yuhiko's attack, it was clear that he was not going to waste any time. He wished to cause damage as quickly as he could manage. A strong and decisive first strike. That was Yuhiko's opening move. Now to see how the opposition would respond, and how his partner would capitalize on his attack.

Post by Dajh Amare Zane Yun on Mar 23, 2021 21:50:02 GMT -4
The fight could not start fast enough with all the players introducing themselves and trying to make small talk. Amare's own partner mentioned something about working giving it their best but in Amare's mind it was translated to a mix of white noise and elevator music. He already knew what he wanted to do and what he had to do in order for it to be accomplished. Glaring at Yuhiko or...Luminious Lord? Whatever it was Yuhiko. Starring at Yuhiko as the class president seemed to nod as if agreeing with something his partner said, Amare would get ready. From what the announcer said his own partner was some sort of healer...It was as if the sisters of fate were tempting him today. Colt was also a healer. Was this some sort of divine situation? Last time they tried hard to work together against one opponent and Amare was not able to land a shot. So this time he would do the opposite and charge them both in hopes of drawing their attention completely on him.
As the Hero Ragnarock gave the go ahead, Yuhiko got the jump on Amare and split using his quirk to fire off a fairly large sized blast at Articaide. This would be the perfect chance for Amare to charge the other opponent, the ice hero probably capable of handling a blast like that. If worst came to worse he would just heal himself right? Leaving Amare enough time to decimate this other hero in training and leaving Yuhiko for last. He had a plan and he needed to stick to it.
Just as the blast neared the two allies, Amare would slide into the trajectory of the blast taking in onto himself. The way his quirk worked as that Amare would be allowed to take on hits of various kinds and then send them back at an equal force or sometimes stronger towards its owner, or another target entirely. This made him the perfect type of tank capable of holding down a specific location. Despite what his head wanted to do, his body knew what was the best course of action. That was the basic result of hours and hours of training after all.
"Stay within reach of me. I can take their attacks. If healing is your quirk then they're going to go for you first."
Amare would say to his partner as discreetly as he could. The red energy that Yuhiko fired would of met Amare's fist square on only to be absorbed into the boys body. The energy then would travel down his arm, across his chest and into his opposite fist to which he would aim at Yuhiko's partner and fire off towards her. The blast that Yuhiko had hit him with felt strong however Amare while redirecting it sensed he could add a bit more power into it. So just before it left his hands the blast would grow slightly larger. Similar to that of a bowling ball as it launched towards "Chase" at a speed comparable to what Yuhiko had launched at him initially.
"You'll have to try harder than that Yuhiko. Nothing half assed is going to hurt me, or get passed me. Your going to have to try much much harder."
Aiming to antagonize Yuhiko, Amare knew that the class president was a bit uptight. So by showing him that his plan(Whatever it was) would not work Amare would force the boy to think of something else. By keeping Yuhiko on his toes, Amare would keep showing up either blocking his path or revealing that the plan he has thought of would not work. In the long run this would hopefully cause Yuhiko to get frustrated enough to come at Amare as if he was going to kill them.
Then and only then...

As the announcer Ragnarock begun the match the one he was shaking hands before the fight must have determined that he can heal so of course by natural selection would decide to pick him off first. Very good strategy for most situations but there was one minor flaw to this tactic, he could fight back as well. Moving his self to a battle position at the ready he would get ready to use his quirk to fight back, however his partner must have assumed the same thing and got in front of him at that moment. "Wait what are you...." Krahno said before the blast hit Amare straight on and miraculously not only was he not hurt by the attack but he fired it right back at Luminous Lord with extra power.
"Hmm impressive." he mused aloud before taking Amare's suggest to stay close to him. If the other two assumed he could only heal that would put them at a huge disadvantage for this fight so naturally as a hero in training he would not reveal to his opponents everything he could do right off the bat. However this didn't mean he was going to do nothing at all. He would keep pace with Amare in the fight and ready his quirk for healing should it be needed, however keeping his guard up just in case as well.
"Thanks. I didn't know you could do that. Let me know if it gets to be too much then I will heal you." Krahno said before looking at both of his opponents. Luminous Lord seemed to indeed have some sort of connection with his tag partner it seemed. After all they knew each other by name and it seemed Amare knew how to goad him on. Not always the right strategy of course but being able to outsmart your opponent was always an option to consider.
For now it would look like a fight of two against one with a backup for healing. The crowd and his opponents would be pretty surprised when he did reveal the other part of his quirk but of course surprise attacks only work once so he would have to time this perfectly. At this point he would just focus on healing and leave it at that. If his partner knew of this part of his quirk he might give it away with his taunting like he had done a bit earlier, still he needed to let him know he could do more than just heal to better strengthen their teamwork.
"Redeux right? Just know that there is more than meets the eye with me." he was close enough in distance to say that to Amare without giving away his plan. That was enough to give him a hint about what his quirk could do without telling him directly about it. Because if any of his opponents overheard him they would already figure it out. With this vague description he could help his partner without hindering the team's advantage.
(TLDR: Krahno prepares to intercept the blow meant for him before Amare takes said blast. Krahno prepares his quirk for healing as he stays close to Amare. Krahno vaguely informs his partner that he can do more with his quirk than what he sees.)

“Combat, start.” Katsumi whispered, mostly to herself, to get into the mindset she needed for active combat and quickly shifted her stance into a combat ready one. Ideally she would have either rushed the enemy combatants with an assortment of maneuvers, but she didn’t. She’d promised that she would do her best to let everyone’s talents shine in the fight. Instead she waited for the others to make their move before she’d make her own. Her own partner started things off as she’d said, launching a blast at the opposing pair. Mentally she applauded her partner’s lack of wordiness, she was never a fan of idle conversation or inane namings. She watched as the blast got absorbed by Redeux who then sent a blast aimed at her in retaliation. She nodded respectfully at his attempt in attacking and sidestepped the blast to the left by using her Quirk to quickly move her out of the way.
“Commendable.” She commented, cracking her knuckles as she briefly stared down their opponents through her visor. From what she could tell the combat was set up to be a defender and a healer against two attackers, the attackers being her team. Though it seemed like there was a connection between her partner, Luminous Lord, and Redeux. She could only hope that it wasn’t something bad or worse, exploitable.
Redeux looked wholly capable of taking hits and hitting back. Meanwhile she still didn’t know anything about his partner beyond what his name suggested, something cold or icey and aid. That left two questions in her mind: ‘How much could Redeux take before he stopped hitting back?’ and ‘What can Articade do with his Quirk?’. She couldn’t wait to find out.
“Now let me show you how it goes.” Having let everyone do their thing, it was finally time for her to show how serious she was when she said ‘I will come at you with intent to win’. She tensed for a moment as she fired her Quirk into the sand a bit of a distance beside her. “Try not to swallow.” Was all the warning she gave before two small waves of violently moving sand rose and surged. The sand waves were light, there wasn’t much sand in each wave but enough to be noticeable, and they were moving quickly, the left wave going for Articade and the right going for Redeux. Though the attacks were as fast as she could make them, she didn’t pack them with her full power. It wouldn’t be sporting of her to immediately send off her standard powered attacks in the tag team right off the bat.
She planned to make her next move stronger.

♔It was no surprise that Yuhiko's blast would fail. He had expected Amare to cover for his ally. It wasn't a shock that his opponent would try to cover his comrade. What would have been surprising was if the attack had actually landed. In hindsight, perhaps it wasn't the best idea to use an enhanced blast like that and ultimately waste more energy than was necessary. Then again, there was always the possibility that the blast could have hit its target, in which case it wouldn't have been a good idea to only inflict minimal damage.
Still, this was fine. Yuhiko would at least be able to get a general idea on how Amare's quirk worked. There were still some questions that needed answering, such as whether his opponent could absorb attacks from any point in his body or just his hands, and whether he could absorb physical blows as well as energy blasts. Yuhiko figured that the answer would reveal itself in time. All he needed to do was keep on firing and watch Amare show how his quirk functioned. All while being careful not to let himself run out of energy too quickly.
Yuhiko simply blinked once upon hearing Amare's words. What is this idiot think he's doing? Does he really think that mere words are going to be enough to distract me? It was hard to resist the urge to smirk, though Yuhiko still managed to somehow do so. If that's your pathetic idea of a strategy, then I can see right through you. Yuhiko had been through far worse. There was no way that he would lose his cool through something as foolish as a commoner's babble. It wasn't even worth an actual reaction. All the boy would get from Yuhiko was silence and a slightly raised eyebrow. But if Amare wanted to try in vain to rile up Yuhiko instead of actually focusing on trying to win, then Yuhiko would by all means allow his classmate to waste his time.
There was no need for Yuhiko to worry about his partner. She seemed competent enough, and Yuhiko was willing to try and trust in her capability to take care of herself. He was willing to let Chase do her own thing and not worry for her safety. And if for some reason things went downhill quickly, then Yuhiko did have a trick up his sleeve. After a certain event, Yuhiko found out that he was able to pass on his body's regenerative properties to others whenever his sapphire was active. Or in simpler terms, he could heal. However, this was something that Yuhiko decided was more prudent to keep hidden. After all, it would be quite the treat to see the looks of horror on his opponents if they managed to somehow injure his comrade, only to get her injuries healed up so she could fight again. Though in truth, Yuhiko hoped that this would not need to happen. He didn't want to expend more energy than was necessary, nor did he want anyone to learn of his healing capabilities. He was not in the mood to be badgered by anyone.
In a similar vein, Yuhiko also did not want to activate his emerald just yet. The longer he held off on using it, the better. Sure, the ability to fly and move faster could prove to be invaluable, but it was best to not reveal those abilities too soon. Back in that whole zombie fiasco, his classmate Kyouko had seen his flight in action. Yuhiko had always found that girl to be annoying, someone who didn't know when to shut up. It wouldn't surprise Yuhiko if she had decided to talk about the details of that night to anyone in class, and it also wouldn't be surprising if Amare were one of those people. After all, annoying plebeians tended to stick together. On the bright side, even if Amare knew of the exact details of Yuhiko's quirk, the enhanced speed would still be a surprise as Yuhiko did not have have that capability back then.
So with his unwillingness to reveal his healing or speed capabilities just yet (and flight if Amare didn't know about that already), there was really only one option left for Yuhiko at the moment. Continue to do what he had already been doing. Target the opposing team's healer as much as possible, all while doing his best to not let his classmate get in the way too much. If Amare wanted to try and be an obstacle, then Yuhiko would simply try and find a way to circumvent said obstacle. There was already a very easy way for him to do so, but not yet. Save that surprise for later....
Yuhiko was pleased to see his partner already on the offensive. Chase used her quirk to create two waves of sand, directing one wave towards each of their opponents. This was excellent. Amare would no doubt try and protect Arcticade again, most likely get in front so he could try and intercept both sand waves. If that was the case, then Yuhiko could quickly move to the side and try to fire another blast while Amare was busy dealing with the sand waves. And if Amare couldn't protect Arcticade in time and remained separated from his comrade, then Yuhiko would be able to aim a blast without his annoying classmate getting in the way.
Regardless of the outcome, Yuhiko was ready to act. Soon after Chase launched her attack, Yuhiko began to move. Once again, he ran off to the side to try and get a clear shot at Arcticade. Creating another red ball of energy, Yuhiko fired it towards his target. At the same time, he would try to keep an eye on both of his opponents. It was wise to see how his target would react to two attacks heading his way, but also watch to see if Arcticade's 'knight in shining armor' would try and come save him again. Would he even be able to do so? After all, he did have an attack from Chase to deal with. But even if Amare could somehow avoid that attack and protect his comrade and try to impede Yuhiko's attempts again, that was perfectly fine. It would just leave that fool open to another attack by Chase. Assuming of course that she was swift enough to capitalize on that opening should it happen.
In any case, Yuhiko was not worried at all. In fact, he was calm. This was all like a puzzle that needed to be solved, a game of chess that needed to be won with care and precision. There was no need to rush. In fact, being hasty could prove costly. No, Yuhiko would remain calm and observant. He would wait for an opening in the opposing team's defense. Then and only then would he charge in, ready to deliver a decisive strike. For now, however, patience was key. Just keep up the pressure and wait for the moment to strike hard.

The dust had barely settled from his last attack and the opposing enemies were already on the offensive again. No matter. Nothing they did would get through Amare. He was a wall. A shield that with the right tempering would be able to withstand even the strongest attack. It was in this he would reveal to his opponents just that, no words about his abilities but just action. A quick movement that seemed momentarily unnatural? to a boxer's trained eye Amare watched Chase dodge the blast he had earlier redirected. Her attack of choice was a blast of sand. Or rather waves, two being sent towards both himself and Articade. They were quick but Amare knew that he could not allow his focus to solely be on them. He had initially thought to meet them head on but as the sand continued to move it was made clear that she meant to attack them both.
So changing plans, Amare would try and find an angle that allowed both sand waves to hit him simultaneously. Taking both attacks at the same time would be difficult but that was what the suit was for. Taking a second to do the measurements and then run full speed into position, Amare would take a solid stance as both sand blasts hit him. The force of waves made Amare remember a type of training he did where he would put tree logs on a string and swing them at his body. He would stand still and try not to be moved by the momentum gained by the swinging pendulum like creation. This was like 10 of those hitting him at the same time. Milliseconds before contact he would grit his teeth as the concussive blows hit him and rocked his body and caused his bones to ache.
He would of felt that and made a mental note of the total body soreness he was going to feel in the morning...scratch that, immediately after this fight. But with those hits his quirk was charged. Without losing a second he would use the energy and channel it to his fist. If earlier was any example to how the fight was going to go, Amare figured Yuhiko would go for Articade again. If anything was for sure, Amare knew that you always take out the healer first. However something about what his teammate said made the dark-skinned teen think that there was something more to what his quirk was capable of doing. When it came to Yuhiko, Amare figured it was all about stamina, just like his own quirk forcing him to outlast the damage he takes from attacks to keep going, Yuhiko would eventually "run out" of energy blasts. And that would be when Amare would win.
Wait...why did he care if he won? This was not about winning...
"How's this for your plans Yuhiko!"
From his fist, Amare would punch the ground in front of him. In his head the imagery of several larger pieces of concrete launching up would act as a shield against whatever Yuhiko was planning on shooting at them during the time Amare was dealing with Chase. Although imagery was not exactly the only thing that was needed for something like this to be successful. As he hit the ground and released the energy, the arena ground of dirt and sand would not break apart like he had hoped. Instead it would crack severally and cause large amounts of dust to shoot upwards. The dust would be launched in a 5m radius covering both him and Articade from vision. This dust would probably swallow Yuhiko and Chase in it as well, depending on how far they had taken up their respective stances away from the dynamic duo.

As Amare would defend him once more by taking both sand waves to his body Krahno could tell this was wearing him out. But that was not to be the case right now as he made sure to not reveal too much of what he could do right away. But it seems he was kind of just holding Amare back with how he hadn't used his quirk yet to do anything as of yet. That was going to change right now, Krahno began to use his quirk on Amare while they had dust as a cover. This was a two-fold plan of course because they would not be able to see how he healed and what surprises he had up his sleeve. "This may sting a bit but your injuries are not too bad so they should heal pretty easily with my quirk." Krahno then got up close to Amare and applied the medical fluid from his hands onto any places he saw damage the most as the fluid turned into ice to act like a patch or cast.
Thing was this was only one aspect of his quirk but it also acted as protection in some ways. "The ice will melt away when your injuries heal so please try to endure the cold for now. I didn't make this ice very cold though so it should be fine." Krahno then moved away from Amare and used this chance to attack Yuhiko while the dust was still acting as cover. 'My turn. Time to show them what I am made of.' Krahno thought to himself as he built up his speed a bit as he built up the ice around the palms of his hands and made it shoot outward toward both Luminous Lord and Chase.
His surprise attack should be enough to throw them off as the ice was now being used under the cover of the dust cloud and he shot out icicles from his hands towards the two. Krahno smirked a bit as he was going to try for something a little flashy compared to what he was used to doing. As the Icicles shot out from the dust cloud with quite a few fired out at both of his opponents Krahno then would build up ice around his feet before making his own ice propel him forward out of the dust cloud. "Time I go on the offensive." he said out loud as he propelled himself forward with his ice manipulation. This would give pretty much everyone the surprise that he was not just some useless healer.
Though it would give away a crucial secret that he had been trying to keep for quite a bit of time. This was being broadcast worldwide too so him showing this off was pretty stupid in some regards, strategy had always been one of his strong suits but right now he did not want to risk losing, even though he did not really need to win to gain approval from the audience and the pro heroes. But doing this was better than just waiting out their attacks right? It felt less cowardly at least. Maybe he should have waited a little longer? 'A surprise attack only works once. I better use this chance while I have it.' Krahno thought to himself as he propelled himself upward using his ice like a ramp. Next he would try something different, a move he just made up on the spot. Well no not really, it was more of a improvised move he had once used in the Brawl a year or so back but more refined with his training.
Forming a large ball of ice in his hands he would toss it in the air as the basketball shaped ice orb started to descend toward the ground near Luminous Lord and Chase the ball then split apart over their heads. "Special Improvised Move; Icicle Rain!" he said out loud. He definitely sounded like such a dork when he said that out loud, almost like a comic book character announcing his special attack in a way. As the name suggested the ball of ice began to split apart into multiple raining icicles that poured down specifically over his opponents from the basketball sized orb of ice Krahno threw into the air and right after the icicles he had launched at them from the dust cloud as a surprise attack. 'A two-fold icicle barrage attack!' he thought in his head.
They would need to do something about that in response that was for sure. After launching said attack Krahno propelled himself back near Amare where he would use this chance to rest a bit. He did after all just use a lot of quirk all at once just then. "Cover me while I rest, I have a feeling it's about to get tougher now that you guys know what I can do." Krahno said with a bit of a tired sigh. He was not normally trained for this sort of thing as he was often the healer, something of which everyone assumed that was the only thing he could do normally.
Well now the secret was out. Krahno was more than meets the eye like he had said to Amare earlier but would it be enough to take down his opponents? Well he only showed one aspect of the offensiveness of his quirk, well that and that he could propel himself forward with it too. His quirk could do so much more and that would be the true surprise right?

Katsumi raised an eyebrow behind her visor as she watched the other participants of the tag team battle move into action. Her partner had quickly taken another opportunity to let off another blast with his Quirk. Redeux moved to intercept her first wave of attacks, presumably to fuel his own Quirk. Then he swung for the arena floor, rupturing the battleground with his fist and causing sand and dust to conceal them. “Dust cloud, how droll.” She commented, watching the concealing cloud of sand and dust from her spot. She’d moved to dodge the earlier attack and was just near her team’s starting position, not having moved closer.
Then came Arcticade, shooting out of the dust cloud covering them to rain down his own attacks at them. It came in the form of a rain of sharp icicles that split from an ice ball. Though the attack was sudden she was composed enough to respond to it her own way. Lifting her head to look at the icicles making their way down to them she tensed momentarily. Her Quirk blasted a wave of direction altering energy into the ice as they continued their descent. A small push with her Quirk had sent the projectiles coming at her off their intended course or colliding and interfering with each other’s path, she trusted that her partner could handle dodging them but just in case she’d also slowed down the rest for him to easier dodge. The battleground was now littered with Arcticade’s ice and she let out a breath. It looked like this was what Arcticade could do with his work, the making of and usage of ice.
She sucked in a breath with a hiss as she felt a few icicles graze her shoulder and sides. She’d apparently missed some icicles heading for her and it had allowed Arcticade to score a hit on her.
“Of course, an interesting maneuver.” She said as she continued eyeing the dust cloud. If she wanted to, she could do a lot with a dust cloud. It would be easy for her to use their cover to her advantage. Turn their maneuver against them by using it to attack them. Add some speed to the dust and turn it into an impromptu dust devil, scatter the cloud with a fierce blow, or use bits of the cloud to punch through their cover were a few thoughts that came to mind, but she decided not to do that, yet. That would be unsportsmanlike of her to do so. Instead she gave her partner a look. “Then I suppose we should start doing things together as well. I’m open to suggestions after my move, hang on.”
She mulled over her options in her head to keep their opponents busy as she and her partner schemed. ‘Nothing too intense…’ Deciding on one and and with her lips sealed shut in a stoic line she slowly raised her foot. Her foot came crashing down on to the ground, her Quirk acting on the air beneath and making it look like she’d minorly cracked the ground with her foot. Immediately after that she exerted her Quirk on debris that she’d made with her groundbreaking foot and sent a moderate amount of it flying at the dust cloud. “Alright now we may discuss.”

Post by Yuhiko Yuzuki on Apr 13, 2021 0:14:35 GMT -4
♔How predictable. It was more of the same. Yuhiko was almost getting bored seeing Amare act once more as his partner's shield. It was certainly annoying, but not necessarily a bad thing. After all, Amare was only human. He was far from immovable. Given enough pressure and force, he would fall like any other person. It was only a matter of when. Perhaps I could use that to my advantage, Yuhiko thought to himself. If this plebeian wishes to take the same actions over and over again...
But as it would turn out, Amare was not exactly a one trick pony. Yuhiko watched as his opponent punched the ground with considerable force, creating a cloud of dust and chunks of rock. Yuhiko was only just barely out of range, which was fortunate as it meant that he would not have to deal with dust getting in the way of his vision. How curious. Yuhiko wondered if Amare was simply that strong naturally, or if this was some function of his quirk. Did he always punch that hard, or was there a condition that needed to be achieved first? Perhaps tanking those attacks from earlier might have something to do with it? Could he absorb and use energy directed at him? All Yuhiko could do was try to observe and deduce how Amare's quirk functioned. If he could figure it out, then Yuhiko might be able to think of a way to use it against his opponent.
But for now, Yuhiko continued to remain stoic and unimpressed with Amare's words. Are you serious? Yuhiko shook his head disapprovingly as he thought to himself some more. You think that a mere dust cloud is enough to thwart my plans? How naive. Don't act as though you've done anything significant, plebeian. It'll take more than that to surprise me.
The timing could not have been more perfect. Just as Yuhiko was about to dismiss Amare as boring and predictable, something not so predictable happened. From the dust cloud, several icicles were shot out. Very soon after that, Arcticade would propel himself upward from the dust cloud to attack again. This time, a sphere of ice flew up and over Yuhiko and Chase, breaking apart into more icicles icicles that threatened to rain down on the two.
...Oh.
The only reason Yuhiko did not immediately groan and facepalm at Arcticade's decision to call out his attack like a child was because he was too preoccupied with observing the actual attack. I can't avoid them all! The icicles were moving pretty quickly, but in theory, Yuhiko could activate his emerald and gain just enough speed to barely keep up with the icicles. In practice, however, the attack's range was simply too great for him to be able to escape completely unscathed. Even if Yuhiko tried to outrun the attack, he simply would not be able to escape its large range in time.
Still, he would try anyway. Chase seemed to be helping him out by slowing down a few of the icicles, so using his speed was now pretty viable. Deactivating his sapphire (as its abilities were not needed right now, and conserving what limited energy he had was vital), Yuhiko would reluctantly activate his emerald. With a burst of speed, he would try his best to immediate move back and try to escape the attack's range as quickly as he could.
Naturally, he would be unable to get out completely unscathed, and thus would get hit by a few of the icicles. Yuhiko grit his teeth in pain, doing his best to ignore the sharp pain. Still, this was not as big of an issue as it could have been. Though he deactivated his sapphire (and thus his ranged and healing capabilities), Yuhiko still had his ruby active. That meant that his physical strength and durability were still enhanced. He could try to swat away some of the falling ice. That combined with his hardened body meant that the ice, while still very damaging, would not deal as much damage to Yuhiko as it could have.
In addition, Yuhiko's natural regeneration was slightly better than the average person's. Plus, he didn't even need to have his quirk activated to benefit from it. This combined with his enhanced durability meant that Yuhiko could slowly but surely recover from this. Still, it was best not to take any more attacks like this if it could be helped. It was clear from the bleeding that his regeneration could not keep up with this kind of damage. It was best to exercise caution.
So you are more than just a healer. That's good to know. Still, don't think for a second that I'm just going to avoid you now. You're still my primary target, Articade.
It was good that Chase was quick on her feet, already launching a counterattack against the opposing team to keep them on their toes. Yuhiko wished to do the same and not allow Arcticade and Amare even a second of rest. But first, it was time to talk strategy. After all, if their opponents were working together to get through this fight, then it only made sense for Yuhiko and Chase to do the same. As much as Yuhiko usually preferred to operate alone, he was willing to set that aside in order to ensure his team's victory. "Very well then. Let's strategize." Naturally, Yuhiko would speak in a quieter voice to avoid any potential nosy opponents from overhearing him. Not that such a thing was likely at the moment, but still. He was still loud enough for Chase to be able to hear him without issue, of course.
"One of our opponents is a tank, with the other being able to heal in addition to attack with ice. Together, they're a troublesome annoyance. The best thing we can do is separate them. I can try and move in, using myself as bait. No doubt that the one I don't attack directly will end up trying to pick me off. You take advantage of that and move in to strike decisively. We'll stop the two from staying together by keeping each of them occupied." It didn't matter which of them went down first. Amare may be a tank, but he has his limits. He won't be able to defend forever, and would crumble eventually. As for Arcticade, even if he can do more than just heal, taking him out is still favorable, since it removes the chance for him to undo any damage inflicted on Amare.
Yuhiko was doing his best to speak as quickly as he could. After all, there wasn't much time before the other team would undoubtedly try to come after them. "If you get injured, we can fall back, and I can use my quirk to heal you. However, my healing is limited at the moment, so it's best to not rely on it too much. Best to save it for an emergency." For now, that was the strategy. Divide and conquer. Yuhiko didn't mind being the bait. After all, a king could never hope to advance if he always cowered behind his subjects. No, Yuhiko was determined to move forward and lead the charge. Even if he got hurt, it wouldn't matter as long as it got the job done.
"What are your thoughts on this? Do you have any suggestions or ideas you want to share?" Though Yuhiko liked to see himself as the leader, the mastermind who plans everything, he was wise enough to know that it was often prudent to listen to his allies for suggestions and ideas. There was always the chance that Chase could actually come up with something interesting. Despite what others may think of him, Yuhiko did indeed take other people's ideas into account. He was stubborn, but not inflexible.
If Chase had anything to say, then Yuhiko would listen. Otherwise, it was time to execute the plan. "Let's go." Yuhiko would begin heading toward the opposing team. However, if either of his opponents were expecting Yuhiko to merely run around them and try yet another blast of energy, then they were in for a surprise. He was more than just a ranged attacker. Generating an air current around his body, Yuhiko began to fly up a few meters. As soon as enough of the dust cloud had cleared for Yuhiko to be able to distinctly see both of his opponents, he would then fly down towards one of them. It didn't matter which one was his target. One of them would soon find himself getting charged at at high speed.
If everything worked out, then Chase would be not far behind, ready to immediately strike down whoever wasn't currently in Yuhiko's path. Divide and conquer. That was the current strategy. Time to find out whether or not it would be enough.
