Eli was sitting at ground alpha, bored out of his mind. He tried messaging a couple of people to hang out, but they were all busy. So naturally, he messaged one final person. That person being Meara. The two of them hadn't actually hung out in a while, sure they trained, but no actual catching up. Plus the Irish girl was dating Jack. Which was his 'Best friend' or some shit. So naturally he messaged her to come to ground alpha. While he waited, he obviously trained some more. After all, the licensing exam was coming up and while he had come a long way since being at UA, he could still get better.
So he went over to a secluded area of the room, made a diamond sword and shield, and started slashing away. He started out with a stab to a dummy's right side. Then followed with a slash on its left side. Finally he switched his shield to a sword and cut off the dummy's head. "Might have gone a little overboard." He couldn't help it, he was just so excited to be finished at UA. He could finally get to fight real villains, do real hero work. First though, he needed to talk to Meara, the last time they really talked was a few months ago. With that Eli Left the shattered dummy and sat on a bench, he needed to think.
Honestly the two of them never really talked about the whole thing with Jun. Hell they hadn't even talked about her getting kidnapped and whatnot, or even Melody and whatever happened that had Jack worried. She didn't even know about Eli's dad being Thunder! They really needed to catch up. He felt his phone vibrate and looked at it, Meara had replied confirming that she could be there. So he sat on the bench, waiting.

Meara had randomly gotten a message from Eli asking her to meet at Ground Alpha in a bit. She hesitated for a second before replying, it was strange that he asked her to meet up, given that they had rarely hung out as first years, and over the course of the past year and a half, they weren’t on good terms necessarily. They were definitely better now but she wasn’t expecting him to ask her to hang out one on one. “Maybe he wants to do some one-on-one training before the exam.” She thought she was close by so she decided that she’d go and meet up with him.
After a little bit Meara made her way out of the locker room and slowly walked towards the training ground. She was honestly a little nervous and she didn’t know why. That voice was rumbling in the back of her head, and it wasn’t doing her any favors in dissuading her feelings. “Can it ass” she hissed to herself. This voice was wearing on her last nerve and she really didn’t like how it was becoming more active as of late. Maybe that was why she was on edge and nervous to be around Eli without anyone else there. She didn’t want to drag him into her messy situation, enough were in the muck with her already.
She spotted Eli practicing sword strikes with a dummy off to the side. He looked really into it, enough so that he didn’t seem to notice her. She watched his form before he took the dummies head off. She chuckled as she walked up to him as he went to the bench nearby. “Ye know Eli mate, decapitating the enemy is not very hero like.” She teased as she stretched out. “So What’s up mate? Were you wanting to spar or something?” She asked. He hadn’t mentioned before why he wanted to meet in his message.

Eli lifted his head up as Meara approached. He let his weapons disappear into thin at as he walked over to the blonde girl, a hair color that matched both of their personalities. Eli laughed at Meara's comment, "Yea you're right, I'm just extremely excited! I'm so ready to get out into the real hero world! Do real hero work! Ya know what I mean?" He finished, before answering her question, "Oh yeah, as much as I'd love to spar, especially with the exam coming up. I just figured uh...We haven't talked in a while and should probably catch up. I mean for one, if we're both gonna be heroes we should probably know more about each other in case we ever see each other in the field. More so just stuff since the last time we really talked." Eli stated, not knowing much about Meara.
"Here uh...I'll go first. You probably already know this but I left for America for a few months. My parents replaced me with a brother I didn't know existed, and apparently the guy I thought was my father isn't so there's that." Eli finished his statement before finding a bench to sit on, this was gonna be a long conversation. He could handle it though, naturally. Eli finally realized what he was wearing at the moment, a black Nirvana t-shirt, partially covered by a navy blue jacket that was zipped down with a smash logo on the front. For once, he wore some brown khaki pants aligned with tons of pockets. Black shoes covered his white socks and of course, his iconic headphones were slung around his neck with the cord leading to his phone in his right pocket. Why didn't he have 'red tooth' headphones yet? The world may never know, "Right, so you're turn?"

Meara laughed at the boy’s response to her teasing. “Aye, it’s pretty damn exciting indeed.” She said. Her smile faltered slightly when he said that he wasn’t exactly wanting to spar with her today. “Aww really? Then why did you tell me to meet ya here?” She asked “Not exactly the first place I would have picked to have a conversation.” She said as she sat down next to him on the bench.
“But it’s fine, I’m game to talk. Been a while anyways mate.” She said as she gave him a light punch to the arm. “It’s like you were ignoring me.” She teased. Truth be told Meara had done a lot of avoiding people these past few months. And it was about time she started reconnecting with some of her close friends that were still around. She listened to her friend talk about his few months away back in America. All about his suddenly crazy family life, complete with a replacement son and not being the biological son of the man he had always known as dad. It was rough sounding to say the least. “Shit Eli, I don’t know what to say to that.” She said as she looked off into the distance. “All I got is that yer here now and you got family here, as fucked up as this little family may be.” She said with a smile.
She paused for a moment, and took a deep breath in, knowing that what she was about to say was still hard to talk about. “Well as for me, you probably already know about the whole kidnapping and drugging shite. How I got taken for like a week and… had things… done to me.” She said, her voice growing a little shaky at the end of it. She steadied herself again with another deep breath, slowly exhaling and unclenching her fists. “Sorry, guess it’s still hard to talk about.” She said as she looked back at her friend. “Now I’m a paranoid basket case that’s honestly a little too close to being put in a psych ward.” She said. She let out a light laugh to try to ease the tension in her body. “So that’s one of the big ones out of the way, what else you got?” She asked. “You got any idea who yer real da is? Or did they not tell ya that much?” She asked again, she tried to ask as carefully and mindfully as she could, she knew that it was probably a lot for him to be dealing with.

Eli was happy to have this conversation with Meara after so long, "Yea, who knows maybe we'll get paired with each other. That would be nice for some combo attacks." He said, looking around the room almost as if he would rather be training than conversating. She then asked why they came here for a conversation and Eli already knew his reply, "Well, I figured if there's one place that the both of us were comfortable in, it was a place where we normally spar. Me and you both are heavy into combat and training so it just made sense to me honestly." He finished, a smile on his face thinking of all the spars he'd done here.
As Meara sat down on the bench, she said she was good with the idea of talking, and that it had definitely been a while. She mentioned that it was almost like Eli had been ignoring the girl, and he could understand that. "It wasn't that I was trying to ignore you guys, I mean hell I didn't even hang out with Darren much when he was still here and he was my roommate. Plus again, the whole America thing." She then replied to the whole family spill Eli had, and Eli spoke in response, "Yea, it was shitty. What matters more is I'm here though you're right about that. While we're fucked up, we also stick out for each other, and that's what matters." He finished.
The blonde girl mentioned the whole kidnapping thing, which was a whole situation in and of itself. He once again spoke in response, "Yea I heard from Jack I believe? I'm sorry that happened honestly but as you said, we're a fucked up family but we're here for each other, if you need anything at all... Well you know." Finally she got into the question Eli always dreaded from people when he mentioned the whole family situation, who was his dad. He took a deep breath, if anyone deserved to know it was Meara. "Yea, I do... I'm not sure how true it is but its that big Yakuza boss ThunderShock. I even went to see him with a panel of glass between us. Not my best idea but it's whatever honestly. I'm okay though don't worry, it was just a lot of information to take in at once." He told the female, finishing his statements. He then waited for her response.
