APPEARANCE AND PERSONALITY
Appearance:
Since primary school that Yukio has been someone that, by looks alone, people would fall in love with easily. Conventionally attractive, defined features and a well conditioned body were always characteristics associated with the boy. However, one would also almost immediately be somewhat thrown off by the constant serious expression and firm stature of the boy.
In terms of clothing, Yukio can often be seen wearing the recognizable outfit worn by all students of Tokyo Central High: an asymmetrical, black coloured with a purple undertone, high collared, golden pinned uniform that, to his demise, often catches the eye of most people in the streets. When not going to or out of school, there's not much to be said of the boy's style - simple, plain, no accessories, something that just makes him merge in crowds without standing out.
POSITIVE
✔ Genuine, Intuitive, Astute, Reliable, Diligent
NEGATIVE
✖ Distant, Obstinate, Blunt, Anxious, Timid
LIKES
✔ Volleyball, Working, Routines
DISLIKES
✖ Surprises, Disloyalty, Quitting
Personality:
Others often define Yukio along the lines of "someone who will always be there even when you think he isn't going to". He is very mature for his age, which more often than not makes young people around him think that he is way too serious or always occupied with something. On the other side this trait also creates an aura around him of someone to be respected and followed - a sort of king that didn't choose his crown.
To the few that get close to him - especially his teammates - it is easy to see that there is innocence in his deep eyes: helping without questioning, ready without doubts, moving without hesitance. If there is anxiety then he hides it to himself - to the outside there must only be the security that nothing can go wrong. And if it does? Then it is in the past and it can only get better.

HISTORY
Ayase Kami was a painter, a really good and somewhat known one in the country's art scene. Hiroshi Hayami was a professor in the department of Physics in the Faculty of Science of Tokyo University and still is, but Yukio never met him - the man left while his wife was pregnant and, because of that, it was always just the boy and his mother.
They lived in the city of Sendai, prefecture of Tohoku, their home a small, traditional japanese house that Ayase inherited from her parents after they passed away. She had the money to buy a better, more modern one, but as she often said: "Some things can't be replaced".
As a child, Yukio was forced to grow up quicker than most other kids his age. While some went to the park, he cleaned the house; while some played video games, he went shopping; while some went to each others' homes, he helped his mom with her work. The neighbours always complimented him when they saw him on streets, but, in the midst of such kind words, gossip about Ayase's condition spread and spread. The words about her getting worst, about what would happen to her little kid. The doctor - an old friend of Ayase's parents - that erased Yukio's status as a Quirker from his medical records and told him to hide it with the purpose of not worrying his mother.
But what could he do? He was a child, he didn't really understand what all of that meant - to him, his mother was just fine.
However, slowly but surely, his mom became worse and worse... and he was forced to take notice. The days she spent in bed, how she had a hard time leaving the house, how tired she always was, the shaking of her hands, the paleness of her skin, the redness of her eyes. At the same time he took care of her, he played volleyball - a request from Ayase herself, that wanted her son to make friends and find something he loved for she knew what close future awaited him.
And then, during his last year of middle school, Ayase passed away. To everyone else, Yukio took the event surprisingly well, but he knew how it felt. How it sometimes still feels. Throwing himself fully into volleyball he was realizing his potential and quickly became one of the top talents in the country, which propped his coach to suggest a move to Tokyo Central High, one of the best programmes in the country and a transfer that could be facilitated due to the fact that Yukio's father resides in the capital.
Yukio refused to talk to his father, but coach acted as a bridge between both. So, Yukio Kami now lives alone in a tiny Tokyo apartment which one half is payed by his father and the other half is payed by him through what he earns as a part-time employee at a nearby karaoke place, something he made a point out of doing. He is also enrolled at Tokyo Central High and, as one of the top prospects in the country, he is the current starting setter for the school's famous volleybal team, known as the Foxes.
