Getting situated teaching at UA was a monumental effort. Her days quickly turned into a blur of naps, lectures and lessons. When she wasn't dozed off in the staff lounge she was either teaching her homeroom or grading various assignments and tests. Though on the rare occasion she was neither tired or busy with the obligations of her job she was typically preoccupied looking ahead in the students curriculum and suggesting changes to make it conform to more realistic expectations. After all, with more or less thirty years of experience in the field she knew that things weren't the sunshine and rainbows that UA marketed, even if many of the teachers didn't enforce those beliefs.
So it was to no surprise that eventually in those small windows of clueless freedom she'd busy herself with self-assigned administrative duties. While she wasn't a 3rd year teacher, she knew she had a lot of tools to assist the graduating classes in their search for work, hero agencies and government contacts to build a reliable network to be their best selves out on the field. After all, even before she was pulled in by the government as a Professional Hero she was a vigilante with a couple key contacts that did their best to cover for her battles in favor of some semblance of justice. Without the information she'd gotten from leads and the resources provided by support agencies she'd be in much worse shape than she was today.
So sitting in not the teachers lounge but rather a medium sized office with two couches facing one another and a desk facing both of them and away from the window she'd have a page in her hand to review the people she'd be calling in. The curtains had been kept open this time around, as the orange glow from the departing day meant she didn't need to worry about the brightness being too much for her to comfortable live with. The sun was well over the horizon line, but nearing it as fluffy clouds rolled by outside.
As she reviewed the printed pages in her hands that she'd pulled from the clipboard she pondered the kinds of educations they had received at UA. She was a new teacher introduced well into one of their semesters, so it wasn't difficult to dig into the very unstable roots of UAs management and faculty. It was to be expected of any project as ambitious as this, taking chaos and trying to filter it into some kind of order. The teachers that staffed the place were almost unanimously criminals to varying degrees, she'd be lying if she said she hadn't done a Villain or two in with big hits in the past, her colleagues may very well be the same. So it was no surprise that having former criminals run an educational movement such as this would have some hiccups, but they were the best the world had at the moment. The students of today would be the teachers of tomorrow, so one could only hope things got better with each iteration.
Which is why she wanted to make sure the first generation of trained Pro Heroes would be going out onto the field with the mindset and tools they needed to remain calm, collected and cool to their admirers and the media alike. Which brought Mega to this list. Many UA students filled the sheets, all 3rd years. Some of them had unfortunately dropped out, others were struggling with their studies, but their were a good chunk that were lined up to graduate.
Which meant they'd be the easiest to meet with first, and among those students was an Angelica Surami.
Taking out a special phone, fully suited up as per usual Mega would open up the student chat.
'Mega: I will be conducting meetings with 3rd year students leading up to the end of your semester and graduation. You can expect an email within the week arranging a time that best suits your schedule. Understand that these meetings are purely optional, but are recommended to ensure a structured and healthy transition into the functions and responsibilities of a Pro Hero out on the field.
If you would like to opt out of the meeting, when you get an email from me simply respond by saying you're unavailable.'
And it would just so happen that Angel was first on the list, first to get an email, and be slotted into the first available timeslot. Which was... The day of, if she had time, of course. The teacher whether or not Angel arrived would spend her free time efficiently. Either doing her job as a teacher, or snoozing away to the middle of the night.

| W ell this friday afternoon was going to be a rather interesting one that was for sure! Angel had managed to finish both her classes and her work out for the day before going back to her dorm room to change. As she was deciding what to wear however she recieved a rather odd message from one of the newest teacher's at U.A. simply known as Ms.Mega saying that she would be holding meetings to meet the soon to be graduating third years to help them prepare for their lives out in the real world as heroes. Seeing this message helped Angel quickly decide that she needed to wear something that truly represented her when she wasn't working, and that showed off her softer side as well as her ideals. The young future pro put on her favorite pride inspired outfit with her engadgement ring around her neck and her favorite hooded trench coat which she used to hide her wings despite it having wing holes as her wings rested flat against her back. Once she was ready the young hero quickly made her way down toward Mega's new office while doing her best to not use her super speed to do so as she often had to remind herself not to. The same was said for when she finally reached the door as she lightly knocked on it politely so that she didn't accidently knock it down with a single knock. Once she knocked she waited for a moment. "It's Angel Surami ma'me! May I come in?"Once she was told she was allowed to come in Angel entered and slid her wings through the wing holes in the back of her trench coat, and used her left one like a cape in a princely bow before sitting down on one of the couches after a single eye raise at her teacher's appearancein the metal suit. Angel knew nothing of this teacher, but she could easily guess that the suit was something quirk related though its exact purpose be it to hinder or help was unknown. As she sat down Angel rested her wings flat against her back and the back of her trench coat as she gave the teacher her trademark hearing aid to hearing aid grin. "It's nice to officially meet you Ms.Mega. Welcome to U.A. officially. If I may ask you said in your brief message that you wanted to meet with us third years to help us prepare for graduation, what does that mean exactly?"Angel saw the pile of papers of the teacher's desk and raised her eyebrow once more this time of her right eye which housed the jagged vertical scar that went halfway down her cheek under her eye. "How..How much do you know of me already? If that's not a rude question? What would you like to know?" |

"Yes, please, come in."
Speaking lightly, the teacher figured Angelica was likely one of the safer bets for the first of her meetings. She seemed like a student that went above and beyond, so if she could rely on anyone to arrive on short notice it was her; a good quality for Hero work no doubt. Seeing the student opening the door, Mega would lightly lean forward much to the inconvenience of the couch she was sitting on. The wooden base creaked trying to support her. When Angel sat down and smiled towards the teacher, Mega couldn't help but feel a slight pit in her gut. She knew the government was ushering a brand friendly line of heroic justice, but she could only hope that smile was honest and genuine and not just a habit to seem cheery and excited. Mega had seen enough of that kind of thing, so she was always a pessimist when it came to the happiness of others.
That being said, when the student began to speak Mega instead of starting the conversation decided to listen for a few moments. In response to her words, she gave a slight nod and went to respond to her first question. Arguably these meetings were fairly flexible in their contents, it depended on what Mega deduced each student needed in order to allow a smooth transition into Hero work proper, where they'd need to support themselves- the more legal side of the job. After all, sweeping the streets was one thing, but having a stable foundation to function off of allowed for far more efficient performance. She could easily reflect back on her Vigilante days to understand that.
"Well, not necessarily to prepare you for graduation, rather to prepare you for what comes afterwards. No doubt your education has provided a lot of the necessary tools, but from my perspective the fact that I was transferred in near the end of the semester means UA among no doubt other Hero schools are still adjusting to formally teaching quirkers. I figured it would do no harm to go through all of the essentials you'll need to check off in order to kickstart your career efficiently. Just walking out of the doors and wandering the streets after graduating wouldn't be a long term way to approach it. So I'm going to be offering connections with the government, some Hero Agencies I know, even some now abandoned properties that would be a cost efficient first purchase if any of the students are wealthy enough to want to try kickstarting their own Hero Agency. In addition, I might be able to coordinate you as a sidekick to a Hero you have synergy with, or the opposite if you're confident that you want to take the lead right off of the bat. It depends on your needs, what you know and what you're not confident with."
With that being said, the other thing Angel had brought up was the Pro Heroes knowledge of her. Looking down with an index finger she pushed a few other student files aside and tugged out Angels in particular. Largely the contents on that page depended entirely on how much Angel gave out over her life. If she ever had her quirk registered, how much was discovered about the quirk, name, relatives, but at a certain point for educational purposes there wouldn't be any excessively personal information if such was even available. Likely just close contacts for if she was ever hurt, that kind of thing.
"Well, like most students UA holds files in order to have a foundation to build up your capabilities from and to have contacts in hand should you ever be injured out on internships or something that. Of course, I'm not necessarily a believer in the ability to write down who and what a person is capable of on a sheet of paper, generally we're more in depth than that."
With that out of the way she pushed the page aside and sat upright, causing the wood base of the couch to creak further. Bringing a thumb and index finger to the metallic nose covering her real one, with a metal twang as her fingers closed around it she'd rub the bridge of her... Not even real nose, it was a weird tick, but ones she had nonetheless.
"With that being said, I think a summary of your education over the passed three years would be a great first step to determine how I can help. Has UA met your expectations and what you were told when you first arrived? And if it hasn't, are there things you expected to learn that you haven't. I'm sure you're excited to be one of the first entirely legal Pro Heroes that has gone through formal schooling to do your job, but you can imagine from an administrative perspective it's quite a stressful time. The things we teach you- and don't teach you will go on to be passed down and become the new normal. If society is going down this path, I'd rather do my part to at least make sure it's done right.
So, tell me a bit about yourself and your education slash time at UA. Good, bad? Thorough? Lots of missing information? Do you need contacts? Internship opportunities? Locations? Government networking? Stuff like that, be as long winded or brief as you're comfortable with."
With that, in her bulky metallic gauntlets Mega picked up a tiny pad of sticky notes along with a wee little pen (relative to her hands size) and prepared to jot notes down.

| A ngel listened silently as the mental encased teacher told her that she was there to prepare her for life as a pro hero by helping her form the connections that she would need of various types be it with heroes or the government. This caused Angel to continue to smile. That was until the teacher mentioned her file. This caused Angel's smile to soften, but her eyes to fill with heartbreak for just the briefest of moments as she realized that the new teacher hadn't gotten to the part of her personal file that mentioned her background which left Angel to explain it on her own. "I do appreciate the help Ms.Mega, but I have already started networking on my own and already own a family run business though due to being under age it's not in my name legally yet. I founded, paid for and had built a youth center and orphanage called New Oasis in the Mustafu outskirts. Its purpose is to help children with or without parents quirker or quirkless to hone their talents or learn to control their hard to manage quirks in a safe environment with equipment suited to helping them while also teaching various trades through optional courses. This is to help foster a new sense of unity between quirkers and quirkers, and end bigotry in the next generation."Angel smiled for just a moment longer before Mega asked her to tell her about who she was. This caused Angel to press her fingers to her throat for a moment before they drifted down to the ring hanging around her neck which caused her smile to return. She then thought about all that U.A. had done for her, and how it changed her. It was enough to bring a happy tear to her scarred eye which she quickly wiped away with a chuckle as she looked down for just a brief moment before looking back at Mega. "U.A. is one of the best things that has ever happened to me Ms.Mega. Before U.A. I and my mama had nothing. We were victims of both child and domestic abuse at the hands of the quirkist bigot of a man I am ashamed to call my father Sota Surami. We were literal slaves until I turned 15 and took our freedom, and took the name the Angel of Mercy. The people of U.A. helped me heal and showed me what true strength was. Not the strength that comes from one's body or quirk, but from their heart and convictions. They showed me I could be strong enough to fight for myself and for others, have friends I could count on and could count on me, and most importantly love and be loved in return. They helped me become a strong, confident and proud woman who is unafraid to express who she is. You ask me who I am? I am a great many things! I am a warrior, a loving daughter, niece, sister and cousin, a proud disabled lesbian woman who has a beautiful gothic fiancé who's waiting for her to graduate so we can live together."Once she was finished talking Angel realized she hadn't really answered the real question about the quality of her education. As she thought about how to answer this question Angel tapped her chin before snapping her fingers with an excited grin. "The teachers here are great! I know we aren't supposed to have favorites, but my favorite is and always has been Yellow Jacket. She was the first to see my potential out in the field, and on my first ever patrol in my first year that support gave me the confidence to take down a villain and save a bunch of hostages with the help of two other students Yumi and Feng. If I had to say who the pro hero or teacher I was closest to emotionally though it would be the pro hero Ultra Violet. She and I..We just kinda vibe on the same wave length ya know? A close second would be Red Horn. If she'll have me I would love to become Ultra Violet's personal sidekick until I am allowed to go solo. I don't know if your records show it, but thanks to working with her, Red Horn and Yellow Jacket I have gotten to have a ton of actual field experience. I was even on the front lines during the zombie outbreak and put on the principal's protection detail with Paw Might and a few first years in charge of getting the cure! I know I'm not THE strongest kid in school, but I am proud to say I stand among the top students. You should totally talk to the girl's by the name of Yumi, Risaka, Feng, Tetsuko and Jasmine. They are the other top most skilled students as far as I can tell, and are total bad asses! I will admit however..."Angel blushed a bright pink as she rubbed the back of her head sheepishly with a grin even though her tone of voice was full of both excitement and slight embarrassment. "When it comes to the more scholastic subjects I am just kinda average. Not because I'm not smart or I don't understand the material, but because I've always had a hard time sitting still and paying attention in class. I have a bad attention span if i'm not doing anything physical. I'm also a bad test taker unless it's a more physical test. That's why I'm in the hero course, and not hero support."Once she was done talking Angel out of habit changed her sitting position to where she had her feet up on the couch as she crouched in place in a perched bird like position as she tilted her head to the side. "Is there anything personal you would like to know about me? I'm an open book Ma'me!" |
