❛❛Hehehe, bow before your future ruler! Me! Grand Witch Majolica! Hehehehe! |
HISTORY Grand Witch Majolica is the future evil ruler of the entire world! Or, at least that’s what she would tell you. In actuality, Barbie Wainwright AKA Grand Witch Majolica is fun-loving albeit bratty girl with a penchant for mischief. At best, Grand Witch Majolica would be considered “moderately troublesome” or really more of a chaotic force in the world than a truly evil villain. Barbie is the child of two American villains that were among the earlier generations of villains. Due to the lack of knowledge and defense against quirk-users in the early years, Majolica’s parents were very successful in their villainous practices having used their abilities subtlety to get ahead in life. Meeting when they both tried to rob the same convenience store, the pair instantly fell in love and began working together as a Bonny and Clyde-esque team of villains. Eventually, the pair married and were among the first husband and wife villain teams. Coincidentally, both of Barbie’s parents use electricity-based quirks. Majolica’s mother, villain name “Witchspark” used her emitter quirk’s ability to interfere with and control electronics by manipulating static electricity. Her father, villain name “Grand Zeus”, conjured bolts of electricity and worked as the muscle of the team. Though the Husband and Wife pair were villains, one thing that set them apart from others was there adherence to a strict moral code. The foremost rule the pair lived by was that killing was only acceptable as a final option in self defense or in protection of one-another. Though the pair did use their quirks for villainy, they thought of themselves more as noble villains or phantom thieves as opposed to monsters. The second rule the pair followed was how much could be stolen. In most cases, the couple only stole what they needed… plus a little extra for insurance. The idea behind this was simply that if they began amassing large sums of money from nowhere, they would be seen as more suspicious. By keeping their earnings moderate, they were more readily able to hide their villain alter-egos. Thanks to these efforts the pair did quite well for themselves, and after having accumulated enough wealth to live comfortably the pair left their home nation of America to retire from crime in Japan. After the move, the couple used legal means to invest their money smartly giving them an upper-middle class income in a safe suburban area with good schools and friendly neighbors. It was in this environment, to two doting “lovey-dovey” parents that Barbie was born. Being the child of two electrically-based quirk users, Barbie also inherited an electrical based quirk. Though, unlike her parents hers was not an emitter type but a mutation. Due to Majolica’s mutation, her body constantly generates a powerful positively-charged electrical field. Because of the dangerous nature of her quirk, Majolica is home-schooled by her parents for fear that if her mutation discharged it could injure or even kill. As in infant, Majolica had little to no control over her quirk and caused great deals of damage to her home and family's electronics. Thankfully, as her parents were also users of electrical quirks, her electrical discharges did no harm to either them. Even so, the couple worked tirelessly to keep baby Barbie’s body electrically grounded while teaching her to control her power. Though she was forced to grow up in a cloistered environment, Barbie had a happy childhood. From early on, Barbie loved being told stories and read to. Her parents often regaled her with tales from their glory days as villains. Barbie’s eyes would light up excitedly no matter how many times she heard about the time her father caused a block-wide electrical blackout that caught the authorities by surprise and allowed himself and Barbie’s mother to escape. Apart from villain stories, Barbie also loved fairy tales. Attracted to the villains in the tales, and also in large part due her mother’s villain name, Majolica grew exceptionally fond of fairy tale witches. It is no small wonder then that Barbie’s own villain name takes heavily from her parent’s villain days. “Grand” from her father’s “Grand Zeus”, “Witch” from her love of witches and her mother’s “Witchspark”, and Majolica for two major reasons. First, Mrs. Wainwright has been a ceramic hobbyist for years, and has called Barbie “my Majolica” since birth due to her being “cute and colorful.” Additionally, Majolica contains the japanese word for witch, “majo” which also pleases Barbie. Since she first began putting together sentences, Barbie has dreamed of being a villain just like her parents. Though at first her parents were dismayed (and maybe a little proud) that Barbie wanted to follow in the footsteps, they eventually decided that if that was her desire then they would support her. From a very young age, Barbie was trained by her mother and father how to use her quirk, while also instilling into her the moralistic code they followed in their days as a villain. Now, Majolica has set out on her own journey to simultaneously become the ruler of the world and greatest villain the world has ever known, with her parents supporting and cheering her on every step of the way. |
