APPEARANCE AND PERSONALITY
Appearance:
The first and most striking thing about Akiko's appearance is her bright pink hair, most of which is very fluffed up and poofy, due to a by-product of her quirk. One of her abilities requires changes in her own body, and it has changed her natural pigment. A similar by-product has changed her eye colour, but not permanently. Her natural colour is brown, but reflecting the colour associated with healing, they turn green upon quirk use. Clothing wise, Akiko prefers very casual wear, such as a grey vest and baggy trousers when she performs more mechanical work, and a more traditional white coat over that when working with chemical output, possibly with a clip on tie, to try and at least maintain some form of professionalism. During school hours, she usually drapes the U.A blazer over her shoulders, or ties it round her waist, and rolls up the sleeves on her shirt, usually stained with soot from work in support.

Personality:
Akiko is, first and foremost, a scientist. A modern alchemist, she has access to what a lot of people in ancient times would have only dreamed of, and with more advanced materials to access, not to mention the advantages of the current state of applied physics and chemistry, she has a lot of ability. This, as a result, makes her very excitable, able to talk for hours on end about her work, which she has a massive passion for. Her optimistic and bubbly personality is only matched by her unwavering love for the art of 'applied alchemy' as she calls it. A smart girl, she knows her own limits inside and out, and rather boisterous because of her brains. However, this intelligence only really covers the more book-smarts approach to things. Akiko often dawdles on minor details, and doesn't really have a sense of practical thinking in terms of her environment, and study of other humans. In other words, she's a bit of an idiot when it comes to more common areas. She also demonstrates quite a lack of restraint, as being able to craft what she likes (within reason) has resulted in her creative juices taking over without regard for safety, or any kind of legal problems, even going so far as to make things that could be downright villainous in the wrong hands. This is all for the sake of her peers, however, wanting to try and impress upper classes at school and the teachers who give her the materials she needs.

HISTORY
Akiko Kinamori-Seng was born on the 8th of July, 2060. When she was very young Akiko did not discover she had a quirk, but rather her parents did, seeing that their daughter would often cry when given a metal rattle, as she would accidentally change it's atomic structure, and make it heavier, meaning she was unable to shake it. At first, they considered it nice to have a quirker child simply for the joy of seeing her grow into a fine member of society. However, her mother took into account her heritage, and the one that had been passed down from her to Akiko.
Miss Mari Kinamori-Seng is from a long line of women, who were descendants of a 10th century Chinese woman, Keng Hsien-Seng, considered to be a master of the alchemical arts during her time. While possibly unrelated, she felt that her daughter had inherited the will of alchemy from her line, and was desperate to try and see what she could do. As a result, Akiko was trained by her mother with what she knew from passed down tales, and told to practice with what ability she could. Her father, on the other hand, was a much more practical thinker, and asked that she pursue the scientific as opposed to the spiritual. Taking both her parent's thoughts to heart, Akiko would utilise her quirk more effectively in both mechanical and taoist form, creating what she would then refer to as 'Applied Alchemy'.
Growing up, Akiko studied hard, achieving good grades and impressing her peers in her class, but would constantly push the envelope. Akiko had quite the chip on her shoulder, and as such constantly tries to go further to, 'push humanity forwards', acting more like a mad scientist then a benevolent force. This caused her creativity to be rather stifled by the authority with her education, and instead was placed towards a different outlet – towards an education at U.A, as a support student. With high hopes and a mind filled with new ideas that some deem too far, Akiko is ready to bring her special brand of Applied Alchemy to the school, and impress both students and teachers alike.
