Now I know what you are thinking. What does Alviss think he's actually doing suggesting this? Well I have a lot of ideas right now that I don't want to contain and I think some of these could prove pretty challenging but also a lot of fun for the students at UA. Thing is these challenges are all based on something from the video games series Super Smash Brothers.
1. Hit the Targets: Floating targets are set around a training area to be hit with some sort of blunt force to activate the targets. When hit these targets will power down and then begin their descent back behind where they were setup. This will be a timed challenge for 1 student per session. Students take turns doing this one at a time and attempt to hit the targets as fast and as accurately as possible using any means needed for hitting them. Items of different sorts would lay about the field for those whos quirks are not battle focused can still progress. But they have to be more creative with the items that are strewn about the track than those with battle quirks.
Using these items do NOT deduct any sort of score they would get from this test but it would slow down their time by needing to pick them up and use them. There are exactly 10 targets that need to be hit. They are made from a special alloy that allows these targets to not take much damage upon being hit, this will make fixing them easier for the staff. Once all 10 targets are hit while running along the track the teacher's will judge by scoring their usage of the items or quirks and how fast they hit the targets in the allotted timeframe.
2. Multi-Man Melee: A team of students which will be no more than 4 at a time will take on multiple robots with special hologram technology that makes them look identical to human criminals will all swarm these 4 students attempting to touch the targets on their bodies that are assigned to the students. This is to prevent from the students getting too hurt from the robots' attacks and it makes it more challenging. This plays like the Licensing exam from the anime but instead of balls that hit the targets it's robots that are trying to hit those targets on the body. There are 3 targets that need to be hit by the bots while the bots themselves do not have any but don't take much to defeat. The challenge is to defeat as many bots as possible without them getting a student out.
If a student is considered out they have to watch on the sidelines as the rest of their party have to fight off these bots. But even if a student is considered out this does NOT deduct their score either. The judges will see how well they adapted using their quirks or skills to defeat the bots and how many they could defeat before being placed out of the match. The session is not lost if all the students are considered out as this is but a test to measure endurance against the odds for hero training and how well the students can work together in these odds against them. Items to help with the battle will be placed in the training area too for those with non battle quirks and again they do not deduct points for using them.
There will be different mode settings for this: Easy mode is 10 bots, Medium mode is 20 bots and Hard mode is 30 bots. Depending on how the students do the teacher can choose to raise or lower the difficulty should they need to. Lowering the difficulty will make bots retreat while raising it will make more show up. If all the bots are defeated that only increases the score of the team but does not confirm a passing grade for the team on its own. Like I said before it's about teamwork and versatility against the odds that wins a passing grade for the team.
3. Defeat the Boss: This is a bit different than the previous suggestion, instead of bots they will be facing a Teacher in battle like in the battle training episode. This time however will be different. Defeating the boss entails you hit them in their target areas like from the Multi-Man Melee idea. That's right to defeat the teachers in battle you must hit their targets on their bodies for a passing grade. This sort of combines the previous two exercises into one.
There will be no more than 2 students in this bout and only 1 teacher per set. The challenge is that the teachers have the advantage because while they are both smarter and more powerful than the students the students also have targets the teachers need to hit as well. That's right both teams need to wear targets on their bodies! Judges will determine how they use their teamwork to defeat the teacher in the battle area. This Boss is only defeated if the team manages to hit all the targets on the teacher and the Boss defeats the team if their targets are all hit instead. Even if a loss is issued to the student team they will still learn from the experience and be judged accordingly. Like the other two exercises items are placed among the battle field to ensure the non battle quirk users have a chance as well.
So yeah I think all these ideas could form one huge class in my opinion. They are all meant to be used together in a way and each class could be taught separately in a different thread. Thoughts or concerns on this idea? Please let me know in the comments!
