She swore everything was there, the proof to provide her innocence was there. To be honest everything for her was a blur but that did not mean she did not have to say a word. No, she needed to trust the Japanese government that this was going to be done alright and was only for the sake of the government showing that they cared and were doing the right thing towards Barbados. She would stand trial for homicide against Cadeus Griffith... which looked like an accident and to be honest she wasn't even sure if it wasn't. She did not want him dead, and yet she did. He was her best friend before she left Barbados, her job, everything and now they both were dead. After all... Narcissa could never return, if there had been some idle hope before, that was murdered as well. Her parents send an assassin and yet here she was feeling the consequences of it. She couldn't talk to Kozue, his alibi and his status were separated from being her friend, she was lucky to have him as a friend. After all, he had been there to get the footage and yet he managed to sneak his way through so much more, it was... there were no words for it. Her lawyer, which she got because Tomio demanded it, also told her she should not speak to Antonio. If they were acquaintances then they should not show that they mingled and could get a story that fitted them together. She had to trust him to be adaptable and smooth about it and to hope that Giovanni if they asked him, would fit in that plan so soon. Had it only been a week? How many days since it happened? Why did they get the process fastened? Only because she was the brand new secretary of the state of Defense? Really? You would think she would do better but she didn't and what were they going to do with Barbados? They send a hit-man!
She could not think about that, it would go terribly wrong but Tomio said it was just formalities and she did not have to be afraid. Ha, that's what they said last time and look at her now: banished. Was she going to be banished? Could they do that if she was not from this country? She did not have an official Japanese citizenship, yes well, she sorta had it now because of her job but they were still arranging stuff, they did not know she was banished from Barbados and...
The track of her thoughts went on a loop like that, there were no ways out, they would all know. They would know her previous job, they would know she was banished and they would know she got here and killed people only to be able to stay. She was scared, where would she go and why would she not want to be alone again, she was sure as hell that no one was going to move with her to whatever shit country she would pick next. It was lonely and she felt very alone at this point while pacing back and forth for the trial to start. No one to speak to, no one to recognize or know when she was in the stands herself, she should just shut her mouth, listen to her lawyer and imagine that Tomio was right. And by god she prayed he was right, even though the man upstairs had betrayed her on several occasions, there was nothing to do about it anymore, not now... not ever.
Eventually the trial would start and she would enter the room once called, take a seat at one of the desks in the court room and just wait for the judge to arrive. At least Japan understood how lay-low this should be, there were no three judges, there was one judge and although they used civilians as lay-judges, they only used two today that would help with the judge. Only three on the opposite side of the room, still scary but less scary then nine or so. She took a deep breath and fumbled with the hem of her blouse, she looked neatly if she could say so, but also very tired. There were obvious dark circles underneath her eye and although her hair was braided it had little loose fitting parts that she hated and her nails were cut short after she had broken two already. She looked broken.
Alright here is some info:
- Japan has no Jury system but uses support judges apparently called lay judges, I think normally there would be nine but I bullshit my way out of it to avoid you having to play 9 people at once, so its up to three, main judge most important part and the prosecutor. You can come up with names for yourself.
Okay so Kozue and Antonio will stand in as witnesses but they will explain their relationship to Narcissa, that's obviously a set of lies that panned out or well not lies at all, they barely know each other at all ;-;
Last the synopsis of the story:
What happened at first is that a man from Barbados arrived at Japan without a visa or proper papers and because he was from Barbados they assumed he needed to see Narcissa King, former ambassador of Barbados and now Secretary to the Minster of Defense (Tomio).
When she arrived they had a really short talk before the man named Cadeus tried to kill her by slashing her neck, she was also poisoned and taken into the hospital, might potentially use the nurse as a witness too but I don't want to drag it on. After three hours in the hospital she pleaded to get out, saying it was for the sake of the country that she needed to warn Tomio that there was someone making an attempt on her life, possibly his.
Cadeus had called her and she went to the spot where he told her to meet, she had a short talk before he "stumbled" off the stairs after she pushed him and broke his neck and died. There is no further evidence then a broken neck and other wounds from falling of the stairs. Narcissa was with Antonio at this point and broke out in a mental breakdown. In the end they will consider that she accidentally killed him by defending herself and that she reacted stupidly because of being in a high emotional rollercoaster as it was someone from her country who used to be her best friend and someone she knew that made an attempt on her life. Little is known why he came here and Japan would like to consider that Barbados had no idea about it all.
If you have any other questions let me know!
