'Shit... shit shit shit shit shit...!'
Luzia's chest heaved as her lungs struggled for every breath. It was the absolute dead of night, and even as nights went in a city, it was darker than usual. No moon and clouds meant that the only light in the world was whatever lights had the good grace to work in the shitty part of town. The city was NOT quiet, though; there were so many voices, all coming from nowhere, all saying different things.
"Hi Luzia!" "Keep running!" "Just give in, idiot!" "It's getting closer, hurry!"
The fucking voices were so loud, but Luzia couldn't cover her ears, they were busy clutching her chest, hurting for a whole lot more reasons than running. A red spot was growing in her shirt, but she didn't notice it; hell, she barely noticed the pain, not when her adrenaline was so high, not when her heart was pounding so loud it was almost drowning all the voices.
She ran down the sidewalk, running as fast as she could, which was, unfortunately for her, a hell of a lot slower than she used to run... in fact, it was maybe only slightly faster than most people could run! It wasn't like she was in the mindset to really think about that sort of thing, though! She dived to the side, around the corner, and for a moment she just rested, catching her breath just a little peek before peeking back around the corner. She was practically wheezing still, but... it was quiet.... Her eyes darted between the darkness and the light, looking for movement that she really, really hoped wasn't there. And, for a moment... she didn't see anything, but she didn't dare relax. A light was flickering behind her, Luzia not even aware that her shadow was cast well into the street. It was more sickly than the others, but it said, in a much deeper voice, one word that sent a chill down her spine.
"Run."
The word jolted through her like a bolt, and she followed its advice, shooting off like a rocket, and she knew why it said it; shadow fell over the lights, each one screaming as it moved past them. It still had her scent, it was still following her! "GACK!" She suddenly let out a scream as she tripped, her foot catching the edge of the sidewalk and sending her facefirst into the pavement. More pain rocked through her, but she had to power through; she was being chased, goddamnit, she couldn't stop just because her face or her chest hurt! She groaned, but she slowly forced to stand back up, rubbing her face as she forced herself to move.
She could feel the thing's shadow follow her; the lights flicked, shutting off for a moment before flicking back on, and it chased her up the stairs. It was always so fucking close, anywhere between a few dozen meters to just a fucking few, always fucking taunting her, getting nice and close without actually coming in! It was such a fucking bastard! Suddenly, Luzia froze; did she just feel its wings?! No, no, no, just the beat of its wings, FUCK! FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK!
Up the stairs she went, and more flickering lights... half of them didn't work, half of this shitty platform's lights didn't fucking work. It was here, it was in the shadows, SHE KNEW IT WAS THERE! IT WAS SO CLOSE AND SHE COULD FEEL ITS EYES ON THE BACK OF HER FUCKING SKULL! She looked away from where she knew it was; she couldn't look at it, one word and she was fucking dead! She held her hand up, hiding her face and dashing for the train; it almost closed on her, but she could grab the doors, and even though it made the red spot in her chest grow bigger, she could force the doors open, enough to push herself inside, falling to the floor. She fell on her back, but she instinctively covered her face with her hands; she knew that's what it needed, but she couldn't give it to it; her life depended on it!
She barely even relaxed when, after what felt like an hour, the train started moving. It didn't matter; it was still on her heels, she knew it. She rolled onto her hands and knees, pulling out her phone. She was still gasping; she wanted to throw up so fucking bad, but she couldn't, not now; she was still running! She could barely see in her panic, her fingers frantically typing at the phone to the first person she could find.
SweetPainter@Verdure: HEKPLP SweetPainter@Verdure: IYS CHASILKG ME SweetPainter@Verdure: GONNA DIE SweetPainter@Verdure: OI DOPNT WAANNA DIE
She flinched as she heard something, but she didn't follow the urge to look over her shoulder, she just clamored up, clutching her chest as she moved towards the next car.

The years at Saint Marta's, off and on with various eco-terror groups, followed by the time she'd spent in Kabukicho made Kado into a hair-trigger sleeper most nights. When the phone began to buzz, her immediate waking reaction had been to draw the knife she kept by her side and scan the room immediately for an intruder or attacker before realising it was just the phone. The red head sighed and sheathed the blade back into its hidden pouch, as she reached over for the device to check the messages.
"I swear, if this is Sonya or Marcie disturbing my sleep for a midnight booty call, I'm going to be having them licking my boots..." she grumbled, unlocking the device and checking the sender. Her eyes widened as she read the screen, a series of messages sent to her from SweetPainter which was Luzia's online name in the villain chat group. Kado began to quickly get dressed whilst she sent a reply to Luzia.
Verdure@SweetPainter: Where are you Imouto? Verdure@SweetPainter: What's chasing you? Verdure@SweetPainter: Are you alright?
Kado hoped that the use of the word Imouto would help in some way with calming the poor girls nerves. As far as she was aware, Luzia was still meant to be recovering from her injury and with the amount of drugs she was no doubt on... Whether or not something was genuinely chasing her was a question for after Kado found her. Right now though she had to actually find the girl, and then deal with the situation as it developed.
Kado glanced over towards Tsune's room, and was glad that she had managed to convince him to try staying with Qiara tonight. There was no way that she would have been willing to take a small child on this Luzia hunt. No telling what the situation might be... She began to leave her apartment in Musutafu above her shop, and grabbed hold of her motorcycle and helmet. Kado rested the phone in front of her, waiting for Luzia's reply that was hopefully coming.

She breathed heavily, but quietly, slowly and deeply through her nose. She had a chance to catch her breath, but she had to do it quietly; she couldn't give this... thing a chance to hear her! She could hear its footsteps, she could hear it walking along the top of the cars... did it even feel the speed?! This wasn't a bullet train, but it was still a train! It was still fucking following her, even into the next car... did it know she was there?! Could it see her through the ceiling?!
Suddenly, fingers curled over the edge of the windows, and Luzia squeaked; it was fucking looking inside! Expertly, without even a breath between that realization and her movement, she dived down, pulling her coat over her head to hide her. She couldn't see it, but she could sense it, somehow; it was looking inside, it was scanning every inch of the fucking car. It wouldn't see her, though, she was too low! ...Even so, she still held her breath, just in case, until she heard a weird, heavy flapping. She couldn't see it, but she feel it pulling away, she could hear it launching off of the cat.
Buzz buzz.
Luzia went wide-eyed, her heart freezing in her chest, almost giving her a heart attack, suddenly clamoring for her phone. For a second, she was angry at whoever messaged her, but then she sighed in relief; thank fuck her phone was on silent, or else she would have a problem. She waited for a few moments, then slowly lifted herself up, keeping her face down, just in case. She blinked at the surprise of who was messaging her; Verdure? Was that who she messaged? Her heart was easing a little, she was a little calmer now, so it was easier to type.
SweetPainter@Verdure: fucking fucking fuck SweetPainter@Verdure: i think ig ot away SweetPainter@Verdure: dont even know were i am
That was a fucking good question. She pushed herself off the ground, being careful to not look around, just in case, and walked into the next car, this one having a map. Huh, she was...
SweetPainter@Verdure: hey im headed right to musutafu SweetPainter@Verdure: im on the Aoyata Line heading into it
She moved on to the next car, the last car right before the front where the driver was. She was starting to feel better about herself, she got away, she was safe, she-
Shit.
That wasn't a train driver. The light was out for some reason, and the whole front car was covered in shadow. It was there. She could barely see it, but she knew it was that thing. It was there, driving the fucking train, even wearing the stupid hat! SHIT!
SweetPainter@Verdure: SHIT I DIDN'T GET RID OF IT!
Luzia turned around, running to the next car back, but this time, she stopped between the cars. She knew most of the city like the back of her hand, the trains were a part of the city. She grabbed the emergency brake rope and pulled on it hard. Suddenly the world was just screeching; the brakes activated, and Luzia was nearly thrown back into the car. Normally she might have been able to jump off even when it was still moving, but... her chest hurt... it really hurt... she could barely make it onto the track even when it came to almost a complete stop. But she made sure to put her coat over her head as she left. It couldn't see her face. That was all it needed to kill her.
SweetPainter@Verdure: itsstill ahcasing me SweetPainter@Verdure: its still ahas me fuck fuck fuck fcuk SweetPainter@Verdure: gottagkeep running

Kado groaned and sighed. Of course she didn't know where she was... Although a few moments later that notion was dispelled. The Aoyata line heading into Musutafu... She ran through the mental map in her head and nodded as she figured where the pink haired girl might be at this time of night on that line. As she was about to reply though, Luzia's panicked text reached her first.
Verdure@SweetPainter: Try to stay calm, I'm on my way.
With that sent, she flipped down the visor of her helmet and sped out into the streets of Musutafu, making as much of a beeline as she could for the train station. Kado just hoped that Luzia didn't try to do anything stupid in her current condition. What the hell was she doing out of her bed anyway? Where the fuck was Niso? Or that doctor she was apparently meant to be staying with?
She didn't care how invulnerable or immortal that sack of shape-shifting shit was, when Kado next sees Niso in person, not online, in person, she was going to give him a right hook across his jaw. And a well-placed boot in his crotch for good measure! Kado was almost at the train station when she saw the warning lights on the rail line. "Luzia what have you done?" she asked herself, glancing to the phone to check the messages.
Sure enough Luzia mentioned that she had to keep running, which meant she had gotten off of the train before it had reached the station. And with those warning lights up, that meant the train had come to an emergency stop for some reason. If there really was something chasing her, then Kado had to get to her. Now.
She throttled the engine and sped alongside the train line, trying to find someway to get up onto it. She didn't want to risk summoning Thorn just in case whoever or whatever was chasing Luzia was real and could then become more desperate and violent to catch her. Kado continued to drive alongside the line, before pulling over for a moment to send a message to Luzia.
Verdure@SweetPainter: I'm driving next to the train line now on my motorbike. Will be flashing my lights as I go.

Somewhere far away, Luzia's phone buzzed. Somewhere, in someone else's pocket, someone was trying to warn her, to help her, to bring her back home safely. Somewhere out there, someone was yelling for Luzia, so far away that she didn't hear them. She saw no help, no peace, no calmness, all she knew were lungs that ached, a heart that pounded, a mind that panicked with drug-fueled energy that had nowhere to go except to create this hideous and terrible situation.
Luzia did what she had already been doing, the same thing that her body was now protesting against, the same thing that her mind was forcing it to do for its own survival, percieved or otherwise: run. She ran away from the train, away from the danger, running to the station, over it, and down the steps back to street level, all while hiding her face in her hood. That was all she clould do; run. It was how she survived, now just from death itself, but on the streets, and it wasn't like the fight option was available against death itself, right?
Street level, Luzia kept running; it was all she could do as she gasped and heaved. She didn't even bother looking right, she just turned left from the stairs and ran down the street. She didn't know where she was or where she was going, but she was long since past caring; she had to get away, away, away. It was still after her, it was still stalking her, she had lost it for the moment but it was clear she wasn't getting away from it that easily!
She ran for an hour, or two, or maybe it was a couple minutes, she didn't know; she turned left, right, right, left, and right again, so many turns! But she stayed under the tracks of the rails, helping to hide her from sight. Buildings got smaller, turning into stuff like storage units, bars, and parking lots. Eventually she just had to stop; her body was finally giving up, it was running for so long, she finally collapsed, falling to her hands and knees, panting heavily. She had ran for so long, so, so long, she was dizzy, she couldn't breathe, she couldn't see! Everything hurt, they hurt so much... her legs were screaming, her chest was burning... she was so, so, so scared, her mind was still screaming at her to run, but she just... she just couldn't anymore.
Luzia gasped, she panted, she wheezed, she almost threw up... but, slowly, she recovered, not calming down, but recovering, until finally, she could look up again, and when she did, she gasped. Her heart froze in her chest, and suddenly the breath that she was trying to catch was gone. Her blood froze in her veins, and suddenly she felt nothing but one thing; no terror anymore, no panic, no pain, just one thing... terror.
It was standing in front of her, taller than any man she had ever seen, gray skin, spikey hair, and skin-tight clothes. But it wasn't a human... even if its monsterous appearance wasn't a giveaway, there was an air around it, something that seeped way deeper than your skin, an aura that told you that it was nothing but death itself... it was doom. Luzia stared up at it, she didn't even think she had a chance... she was staring right at it, and it was staring back; it saw her face. This was it. The end.
Her body moved. It was tired, she was tired, but instinct moved her body like a puppet. Before she knew what she was doing, she had picked up a tire iron and swung it hard, smacking the monster that had been chasing her all night across the cheek. Without a single thought going through her head, she hit it again across the other side of its head. Before she knew what she was doing, she was hitting it over and over and over again, until it fell to the ground, and she was still beating it over and over and over again. She didn't feel her usual angry; even when blood splattered over her face, even as she watched its skull it crushed in, she didn't feel the fury or rage that she felt when she killed... she just felt fear, terror for her life.
After what felt like an hour of beating its whole head into literally mush, Luzia panted, gasping heavily, collapsing on her knees, dropping the tire iron and falling to her side. She smiled, not in victory, but in relief; the monster that was stalking her... it was gone, it was dead...!
SweetPainter@Verdure: I... i didi it SweetPainter@Verdure: i killed a shinigami SweetPainter@Verdure: i dijdf it SweetPainter@Verdure: im safe
Finally, Luzia's exhaustion caught up to her, and darkness enveloped her vision. All she left behind was a now-headless motorist that was changing his tire, both of them in an utterly empty parking lot.

This wasn't good... Luzia hadn't responded to her message yet. It could just be because of her current state of mind, panic and adrenaline mixed with whatever drugs she had been taking... Or this thing if it was in fact real had caught up to her. For now, all Kado could do was keep driving alongside the train line, looking for any sign of the pink haired girl.
"Think Kado think..." the red haired woman muttered to herself as she drove along slowly, her eyes scanning the immediate vicinity. "She stops the train before it reaches the station, she's being chased by something or someone. She's panicking, she's injured... but she doesn't go towards the station. No, she goes along the train line, but wants to get out of sight. But how?" Kado asked herself, scouring the train line before she spotted the emergency stairs.
"Bingo. She'll take the low road, more chances for cover and safety." she said, driving as close as she could to the stairs before getting off of her motorcycle and moving to investigate the area. Kado didn't know what she was even looking for though. She certainly didn't know how to track anyone, and she couldn't make out anything obvious at the moment even with her phone acting like a torch.
"Come on Luzia... give me a sign, anything..." she muttered under her breath before the phone began to buzz away at her. It was a series of messages from Luzia! Kado quickly scanned through them, her concern deepening at the same time as she felt relieved. At that moment she spotted something out of the corner of her eye, a glittering bead of red on the ground.
The red haired woman knelt down and gave it a look over. "Blood... Luzia's?" she wondered aloud, looking around carefully before finding another droplet that looked to be going the opposite direction from the train line stairs. "I really hope this is hers and not some other bastards..." she prayed, before starting to follow the faint trail at a quickened pace.
Eventually she managed to arrive at an empty parking lot... mostly empty, save for a bike that was under repairs, and two bodies lying on the ground. With a pool forming between them. Kado ran over to the pair, noting that the larger one appeared to no longer have a head, whilst the other was a familiar pink haired girl.
Kado quickly began to check the girl for a pulse, her eyes scanning her over for any obvious injuries besides her still recovering one. With a sigh of relief she managed to find a pulse, and carefully worked to pick the girl up into her arms. "Let's get you somewhere warm and safe... I'll kill Niso later for this." she said softly, heading back to her motorcycle and beginning to make the careful trek back to Kado's home.
She wondered for a moment if that former man with the bike had indeed been the one chasing Luzia all night, or if they were just an innocent person who got caught up in whatever drug fueled mania the girl had worked herself into... Only Luzia might know the truth of the matter, but Kado doubted they would ever know for certain.

A reopened chest wound and a wealth of drugs coursing through her, Luzia didn't wake up for hours. Thankfully, though, her injury was not severe; simple redressing her wounds was enough for it; hell, she didn't even lose nearly as much blood as it looked like she did. Lucky, perhaps, but it had also been a fair amount of time since her injury, enough for it to heal over some, enough to pull it out of serious injury territory... though even so, reopening it was a horrible idea. But, at least it wasn't a lethal once... at least when a good friend took you in quick for medical attention.
It was a dreamless sleep; it was exhaustion and blood loss did not make for an easy sleep. Somewhere during the hours, though, she shifted into sleep in the safety and care of her sister, but even then, she didn't dream much; vague shapes and lights, nothing even slightly notably, not that the memory of them stayed any longer than they themselves did. Some of them even looked familiar, but her dreams were nothing more than that. Even when not drug-fueled, her dreams were almost always weird enough that they might as well be.
Eventually, Luzia started to come to; she groaned softly, shifting and squirming a little bit, before finally opening her eyes. She winced at the light, a sudden and powerful headache hitting her so hard so suddenly that she grabbed her head, hissing in pain. It wasn't a headache she was unfamiliar with, though; even though it hurt like a motherfucker, she could suppress it enough to at least get her bearings. She looked around, the clawing at the inside of her skull making it hard, but she could recognize where she was... it was familiar... there was a lot of plants, and there was only one person she knew that would have those....
"Urgh... Nee-chan...? Are you here...?"
