The landscape is consumed in chaos as a band of heroes stands upon a platform, surrounded by molten rock. Before the party stands Ifrit, a primal of fire and fury. His followers, the lizard-like Beastmen tribe from the deserts of Thanalan, the Amalj'ama summoned the primal using stolen crystal from the nearby mines. It was up to Scions of the Seventh Dawn to bring the primal down before the sky becomes a blazing crimson and hellfire razed all they knew to the ground. A Hyur gladiator rushes in gathering aggro. Discord, an Au Ra ninja rushes in soon after, rushing through a series of kicks, dagger swipes, and various elemental attacks. However in the third phase the party of mages, bards, and monks were wiped, the gladiator and Discord the ninja followed soon after...the mission failed....
A blue haired young girl shrieks in fury and tosses her headset off her head at a pile of boxes. She screams in rage and lets out a series of explicit words targeted at her party for failing their 4th run before slumping in her chair. Just as she rubs her eyes, ready to clean up and try the duty again, knuckles rapport against her door. She yelps in confusion and goes to answer the door, quickly putting on her hoodie. When she opened her door she saw the face of an elderly man, her grandfather, who was giving her a look of disappointment. "You stayed up all night playing games...again" her grandfather stated the question, his hoarse voice laid a heavy weight on her heart. "Did you...at least finish packing Rave?"
Rave rubbed the back of her neck "A-ah yes. Yes! Uh...I'm done...sort of...kinda. It's just a couple things and my computer. I promise! It'll be done quick. I'm sorry"
"You understand that once you move into the dorms, you will no longer have your family to watch over you."
"I know but"
"But nothing. You were the one who wanted this granddaughter. Therefore you need to take responsibility for your actions"
"I..I...yes grandfather" Rave's face fell as she accepted that she just continued messing up. Her grandfather's heart twinged with regret for just a moment, and he moved to pat her on the head but he changed his mind mid-course and instead let out a grunt and moved away, his footsteps barely heard on the tatami mat flooring. Rave moved into her room upon her departure and saw that she was kicked from the party. Rubbing her sore tired eyes, she just shook her head and went ahead to finish packing up her things, her body moving at a sluggish pace.
A couple of hours later Rave placed the last of her packed boxes in her room as the moving company left, her grandfather having departed long ago. As Rave laid on the ground, soaked in sweat she wondered what she was to do now she was in Yuuei, and their dorms at that. Not only was she accepted, but she also didn't know what department or year. She doubted she would be put in with the second years despite turning 16 soon but more than likely she would have to start off at the lowest hierarchy in school. Her place within this domain further determined by what department, but those questions won't be answered until later. Instead, she focused on the future, specifically how she was to managed to be a late transfer student into the department. Although it was not unheard of to transfer during the summer break, it was rare, and more than likely, unheard of for Yuuei, as the school was pretty much in its infancy, has not been even a few years old. Would she stand out? Of course, she would. She only hoped it wouldn't be too negatively. Maybe...maybe her therapist was wrong, maybe this was a mistake, she wasn't ready for school, much fewer people. She missed home, she missed her room, she missed just shutting out the world.
'I don't know how I am going to make it here.'
