She was nice, and kind and most importantly of all. She was able to keep up with melody's constant mood swings and rampages, it was nice to always have someone there who didn't run when she had an outburst. She had invited Charlie to the hot-spring for some private time between the two after all at the moment Charlie was her best friend~! surely she wouldn't decline! Especially when Melody just told her to show up and then didnt reply to any of the other messages to make sure charlie came!
Melody showed up to the hot-springs changing room and waited for charlie outside of it. She couldn't get in without charlie already being there! Besides she remembered learning in Japanese culture it was proper form for them to scrub each other's backs and hair and stuff...well how would that work with charlie? She didn't have hair...more so...antennas..melody sat there outside pondering as she clutched her purse in both of her hands letting it lay on knees. She told charlie around this time, but she wasn't sure if charlie was the type to show up right on time, early, or fashionably late... She had to teach herself patience so she decided to not check her phone just yet. [attr="class","addy"] addy

i could even learn how to love like you IT WAS DEFINITELY AN ODD REQUEST—a private spa, with Melody? In a way, it was almost more daunting than the public spring. If a conversation went awkwardly in the group spring, you could just say you wanted to “say hi to someone else” and leave. But… man, in a private spring, it was just… you and the other person. There was no escape. And that, on its own, was ominous.
Sure, it was Melody, and they were roommates and all, but… well, at least one of their roommates was already weird about Charlotte? Without her even having done anything? The last thing she needed was to make things awkward with the only other girl that she got along with in the Frat House, especially now that Hye was moving-out…
That was so weird to think about…
The prawn had been reluctant to join Melody, and this manifested in an absentmindedness as she prepared to go down to the springs once again. She forgot the soap she was supposed to wash-off with before the springs, had to go back for that, decided to change into board-shorts upstairs in case Melody wanted to use the private spring while clothed… then trekked back down.
Charlotte arrived at the meeting spot with residual franticness, garbed in her usual tank top and surgical mask. When she spotted Melody, she waved.
“Sorry to keep you waiting,” Charlotte said, bowing slightly at the waist, “I… forgot my stuff.”

I wasnt waiting for long so don't worry about it~" she said with a small smile on her face. "Are you ready to head in? I heard this one has a really pretty outdoor view. but it's high up so no worries about peeping toms." She said interlocking her fingers in front of her as she had thought of everything that could give charlie any anxieties or worries. She gestured for Charlie to follow and lead the girl to the changing rooms. She paused for a second, her face turning red a bit she was still kind of uncomfortable with removing her clothes. She knew charlie was Melody began to put away her clothes into the cupboards that were provided for the students, she folded them neatly.[break][break] She was kind of excited yet shy about the whole kind of...revealing themselves bare so melody quickly broke the silence and used her quirk "WOW THE STEAMS ROLLING IN REAL FAST HUH?" she said as a cloud of steam came and condensed itself around her body like piece of cotton "We need to hurry and get maximum time in the water! No dilly dally!" she said as she was obviously trying to fill the awkward silence that would fall upon the too and keep her quirk active. She completely forgot she could just transform and shape shift her bits away. She went over to the showering area and pulled up one of those little stools that were commonly found and began to scrub herself. "Hey charlie?" she asked curiously as some nervousness's began to show in her voice "Wo-would you mind scrubbing my back for me?" she said as she passed charlie a wash cloth. Melody pulled her hair to the side and some of the steam moved out of the way mysteriously as she spoke, allowing Charlie to see her tattoo. Her back was marked with a singlet Water droplet tattoo that was drawn in a tribal manner. If Charlie didn't ask about it melody would just hum to herself instead to keep the steam from letting charlie see very much of melody's body. She was very shy about this all after all but wanted the authentic Japanese experience. "If you want I can scrub yours too so it's fair? I'm sure there's spots you have a hard time reaching." she said as she finished spraying her hair with water to rinse out the shampoo the Spa had provided.[break][break] After they were done cleaning their bodies Melody walked into the water and immediately sunk into the water, it was so warm and calming. This water did feel a bit different compared to the water back home or even at the beach, she guessed it was just from the minerals. "Wow this water sure feels nice~" Melody said to charlie as she went over the edge and then gestured for charlie to come follow her. "Look! you can see the mountain side at night! It's really pretty!" she said as night had fallen over the too, the lamps nearby lit up the view and allowed the pair to see the beautiful view of the nearby town.[break][break] [attr="class","addy"] addy

i could even learn how to love like you THE PRAWN STILL BOWED APOLOGETICALLY to Melody, despite the other girl’s insistence that her tardiness had been no problem at all. In that same moment, Melody smoothed-over any possible concerns over available views or unwanted onlookers, which earned only a mild, “Ah, good to know,” from the prawn. Charlotte would then proceed nonchalantly into the locker room behind the white-haired girl. While the smaller of the two girls seemed riddled with nervous energy (of which the prawn was totally unaware), Charlotte was uncharacteristically unperturbed by the threat of communal nudity. Charlie was already a spectacle anyways, with no boobs or apparent lady-bits to show… so why should she care about covering them up? Out of politeness, however, she did grab a modesty towel on her way into the locker area. Once at the locker, the prawn peeled off her clothes unceremoniously, letting them sit in rumpled wads at the bottom of her locker. Now that the prawn knew she wouldn’t broil alive in the hot springs, she did rather enjoy soaking in them. So the sooner they got to that point, the better. Melody proclaimed something about the steam “rolling in”, to which Charlie simply looked around, finding a Melody in a cloud-suit, and an ambient blanket of not-as-thick-steam… before answering, “Ah… yeah. Super steamy.” The prawn retrieved the small body-soap from the pocket of her discarded shorts, and padded towards the showers moments after Melody had. She worked diligently, using the modesty towel to lather-up. She was… surprisingly nonchalant about the whole endeavor. Just… keep the eyes forward (or closed), soap-down and rinse-off quickly. It helped not having hair… although the washcloth did snag on her spines a few times…
Charlie gave a soft, embarrassed, “Sure” when Melody requested a back-scrub, careful to keep her hand on the washcloth alone (and trying-and failing—to keep her gaze polite). Her assistance was brief… but with a panicky feeling in her stomach the prawn was eager to finish helping Melody.
“I think I’ve got it covered, thank you,” Charlotte said lamely, her face feeling hot. She finished rinsing off, returning her soaps to the locker, and before long, she was again following the water-manipulator out to the tub, lowering herself into the water. Charlie took a place opposite of Melody, slouching against the edge of the tub and sighing.
At first, Charlie only hummed in agreement. It did feel nice… but when Melody remarked about the view, the prawn opened her eyes, sitting up a little.
“It is really pretty,” she agreed. Now if she could just settled down that’d be great. The last thing she needed was to start glowing in the hot springs.

There was a lot of awkward silence once again between the two. It was a strange sensation, melody who liked to talk and Charlie who tended to stay quiet in the conversation. Who'd have ever thought these two would hit it off so well? Most certainly not melody. She wondered though if Charlie could sense her unease? Despite Charlie presenting very masculine, melody was still conscious of the fact that she WAS a girl and melody was AWFUL with other girls. Maybe it was because Charlie WAS masculine acting they got along so well? She thought back to her other interactions with girls, they'd typically bump heads and end up not talking afterwards. But luckily Charlie wasn't like that, she liked to hear melody talk and sing, put up with her swings. [break][break]
But now put that all together in a little box and you pretty much summed up melody. The thought of being in the buff in front of other people was hard enough, BUT IN FRONT OF A ROOM MATE TOO?! Why did she ask her to scrub her back!? Well thankfully Charlie didn't really seem to mind all that much and even told melody that she was fine washing her own back. She wasn't going to argue with her since pushing her to let her would be rather strange in melody's eyes. However she did kind of take note of Charlie's small moments of anxiety, was she just as nervous as melody was? She did a damn good job of covering it up for the most part, that or Melody was just extremely dense. It was probably the latter option.[break][break]
After they got all settled in and relaxed a bit melody laid with her chest against the rocks to keep them covered as she gazed over the beautiful nature the two could see. She was glad that some of the students had worked together to form this trip, after all the drama and danger from U.A and the lists they all desperately needed it. She adjusted her hair a bit, the white towel mixing in with her white hair as she had wrapped it to try and not wet it. "It's nice to be able to have moments like this still. moments of peace." She said "I'm gonna miss this kind of stuff after graduation." She said as her palm clenched a bit onto the rocks. "It'll probably be ten times harder after im a full pro. I'll probably get placed at the port or some port town.." she said sighing a bit. Her worry for the future escaping her mouth as she shared some worries. [break][break]
"But at least I get to spend this time with great company right?" she said turning to Charlie a bit and smiling. "What do you plan for the future Charlie? I don't think I've ever asked you about your plans before." she said as her body moved over to the opposite side of Charlie, it not being exactly clear if melody was using her quirk or just swimming.

i could even learn how to love like you HAVING INSPECTED THE VIEW, and decided it beautiful, Charlotte closed her eyes and craned her head back once again. It was easier to talk to Melody with her eyes closed—then, Charlie could pretend that she was still fully clothed, even if rationally she knew better.
Melody talked of graduation and pro-hero stationing and such, which earned an uncomfortable “hrmph” from Charlie. Thinking about the future always made her nervous—she was neither pro hero material nor a noteworthy mechanic, particularly when one compared her to the other techies in support. Her quirk was phenomenal and eye-catching, but ability-wise… heh. Nothing remarkable.
She could hear Melody move in the water, scooting closer, and the sound of her voice drew nearer to confirm that.
“Yeah,” the prawn agreed, her maxillipeds curling faintly into a smile, “Good company makes it all worthwhile.”
At least she had made some good friends, even if the future held nothing exceptional in it. She’d found some like minds and fellow mutants… dear friends. That was more than could be said about her experience in California.
Her head lolled sideways as Melody asked about Charlie’s future plans, and the prawn’s eyes slid open, regarding Melody curiously.
“Don’t know,” the prawn said simply, “I’m just trying to graduate first. With any luck I’ll get a tech internship that lasts.”
Of course, when you were interested in adaptive tech rather than weapons, people didn’t look too closely at you. There wasn’t as big of a “wow” factor to your wares.
Her hands were folded in her lap, and they wrung themselves together as Charlie spoke.
“Thinking too hard about the future freaks me out,” she confessed, “I just want something… consistent. And ideally in technology. That… doesn’t require me to move.”
The prawn was already ready to put down roots, clearly. She just wasn’t sure where.
“Port town…” she echoed, “So… you’d probably have to move.”
The singer had only just moved-in to the frat house. Of course, that was probably the reality of things—a lot of the current roommates would probably leave once hero work began in earnest. But the thought still made Charlotte wistful.
