Post by Principal Kobayashi Touma on Apr 29, 2018 17:09:22 GMT -4
Kobayashi Touma was drinking his coffee in his office. He was looking over paperwork about the three classes that would constitute the first generation of UA students. The name of the academy was chosen because it sounded like the reversed pronunciation of “hero” in Japanese. The officials said it was a PR move. Touma didn’t care. His most important job as principal was to oversee the students’ education.
It was a cool morning outside. It was the first day of school and it was time for the entrance ceremony, and then they would have their first class. It was for this reason that Kobayashi Touma was standing on the PE field as the students gathered and sat on the ground. The tone was given from the entrance ceremony. Their principal was dressed in what they would soon know as his immutable black suit and tie. He has a serious look on his face that was soon to be known in similar terms. He was standing on a wooden military crate of which was bordered by two other crates. Once the students assembled and quieted down, he addressed them.
“Good morning everyone. As you all know, this is not only your first but ours as well, including myself. As your school principal, I will be doing my best to ensure you all receive a proper education and training to face the dangers of the life which you have destined yourselves to. As such, I ask for your cooperation so that we may all enjoy a productive school year. Welcome to UA.”
With this dry and short, to-the-point speech, the principal hopped off the crate and the entrance ceremony was over. He didn’t like the long, pompous affairs that took place every time a superior or a politician saw fit to award him this or that medal. It was time to get on with the serious business.
“Now without further ado, we will begin the first physical education class of the year. Grab the uniforms in the boxes behind me. They are tailor-made according to the measurements that were taken during the medical exam. You will find the packaging labeled with your name, organized in alphabetical order from top to bottom. You have ten minutes to grab your uniforms, change in the rooms designated for this purpose, head for the athletics field and do a hundred laps. Tardiness will be punished with more laps. This is a PE class, after all."
He said that with a deep voice, relaxed but commanding. He was fully expecting protests. It was a good way to get an understanding of the recrui--students personality.

Haruuhi had been up bright and early that morning, not that she really wanted too, in preparation of her first official day at U.A Highschool. This was it... Her first actual term at a school, having been home schooled by her caretaker her whole life as well as having just learned as much as she could from various educational programs she had been able to download online and study using her quirk. This was going to be... nerve racking to say the least... she was finally on her own, out of the orphanage and pushed into real life... She stayed in the dorms, and was working towards finding herself a job so that she could actually take care of herself.... This life was going to suck... but this is what her caretaker wanted for her... no, this is what they both wanted from her. She hurriedly ate her breakfast, planning out her day and timing everything down to the minute. She didn't speak to anyone, just went about her day as planned until she wound up at the entrance ceremony. She was dressed like every other student, in the provided school uniforms. Even though the uniform was new, Haruuhi still somehow looked ragged. Her eyes made her look like she hadn't slept in days, there was already dirt somehow covering parts of her uniform and it was crinkled from having been shoved in a corner all night after being washed. She would sit down quietly, a light sigh escaping her lips as she fully expected the principal to go on and on about the school, what it stood for, and what the expectations of it's student's were. She'd seen it countless times in movies.... but to her surprise, he kept it short and efficient.... something that was already throwing her schedule out of whack. 'What the...'
She thought to herself curiously, her eyes travelling over to the box of packaged clothing the principal then asked them to change into. She raised an eyebrow, not too sure what it was she had been expecting anymore but getting up and walking over whenever he'd given them a time limit. She was quick to the punch, getting there first and easily sifting through to her school uniform thanks to the ease of their organization. "A hundred laps of the whole field..?"
Haruuhi repeated out loud as she looked around her at the length of the track, her eyes seeming to analyze every bit of it as she roughly calculated how long it was. If they only had 10 minutes to do all of that and head to the field... then there was no way they would make it there in time. She looked to her fellow students before heading off at a run towards the athletics field. She didn't bother going to the change rooms, instead she started striping out of her uniform once she reached the track. She tossed her clothes aside and slipped on the UA tracksuit. This was more efficient with her time... there was no point in wasting it going to a stupid change room. With that said, she'd spend a single minute doing various stretches with her legs, warming them up properly before she would take off at a steady paced job. There was no need to wear herself out right off the bat. If she had 100 of these to do, she could take it easy until the end. She already had a head start...
Ability: Tae Kwon Do Thanks to her previous training, she knows how to properly manage her body to not immediately exhaust herself here

This fire in my head's got me on edge Faded on a thread, don't know what's next This guy wasn't serious, was he? Shit, he probably was.
Jasmine's day had started off pleasantly enough. She had a good night's sleep, woke up extra early without an alarm clock (which she rounded off to being a little nervous), went to town and bought some essential stuff for class, and then went back to Yuuei just in time for the opening ceremony. The fiasco that happened at the front gate was still fresh in her memory, as was the feeling of being slightly out of it. She was having trouble adjusting to this new environment, mostly due to the fact that said environment was much too different from what she was used to. But she was getting there. At least she didn't want to punch that pervert anymore, even though he probably deserved it.
All of that went straight into the box titled things Jasmine gives too few shits about as soon as she heard the principal's speech. Well, or lack thereof, really, but then again she didn't mind him not overinflating his words. What she did mind, though, was being told to run a hundred goddamn laps on the first hecking day of school.
A quiet groan escaped her as she rubbed her temples, contemplating this entire situation. She quickly realized that there was really no point to argue since the principal seemed like the type who'd either: a) give you more laps for bitching or b) give you even more laps for bitching. Right or wrong, Jasmine wasn't about to test that theory out.
Following the lead of some other students, Jasmine quickly dove into the boxes, retrieving her uniform relatively quickly. They had ten minutes to go over to the training field, so she'd have to hustle if she wanted to make it. Without a second thought she exploded into a sprint, taking off her blazer as she ran towards the changing room.
As soon as she was there, she kicked open a locker and proceeded to undress. The fact that she was the only one there was a bit of a relieving thought, but she was sure people were right behind her. It didn't take her long to change into Yuuei's training gear, the girl surprised at how well it fit her; it was tailor made to fit her measurements while remaining slightly baggy - just loose enough so it didn't constrict her movements. She quickly rolled up her sleeves and ran out to the training field.
Her lilac gaze came upon a girl who was already there, going through her stretches. She raised a brow; did she change outside? Jasmine was pretty sure she was the first one in and out of the dressing rooms. Huh. Bold. The girl took off running as soon as Jasmine got there and, while Jasmine definitely wanted to compete, she knew she'd pull something if she began running a hundred hecking laps without any warming up. Thus, she took a minute or two to go through her own stretching routine before shifting gears and running at a relatively stable jogging pace.
This is going to be a long day, isn't it?

I often feel like a butterfly with broken wings The day was the first of the school year. The class the first one that all of the new students were having: physical education, and the professor was no other than the own Yuuei's Principal. His name was Kobayashi Tomura. Ryuusei had heard somethings about the man when it was announced that he would be the one assuming such position. From what the media said, he had been in the military and was Quirkless. A weird decision, but one that made him respect the man if true. A Quirkless man the first principal of the first ever Hero School. It gave Ryuu hope. Hope that, if his sister ever woke up, maybe she could also do what that able had accomplished.
Ryuusei remained silent, sitting on the floor while the Principal talked. When the man welcomed everyone to the school, he nodded. A welcome that would soon reveal itself to be a cold one.
Boxes; U.A. training uniforms; changing rooms; 100 laps... 100 laps?! The boy's face froze a little bit when he listened to such number come out of the teacher's mouth. It wasn't because after he was surprised: it was a Hero School, so of course P.E. classes would be harder. But that was the first they had, and right after the welcoming ceremony. It was't normal, at least in Ryuu's mind.
However, like a good soldier, he got up and made his way to the locker rooms, but not before grabbing the suit that had his name tag on it. It was a confortable and looked nice. It also fitted quite well. There must be really big money involved if they were able to mass produce all of those training uniforms with custom made lenght to each student - and he wasn't even counting with the regular Yuuei School Uniform.
Once dressed, he went back to the training field. He wasn't late, but he also wasn't very quick, being that there were people already running the track.
It's quite big..., Ryuu thought of the area, imagining how troublesome it would be doing one hundred laps on such a big field.
At his previous school, Physical Education was is worst class. It was funny to see straight A's in everything but, when it came to that class, seeing a C... and he was almost sure that such grade was more for pity than anything else. In reality, it should've been D. Hell, even a F could've been fair if well argued for. There wasn't going to be any excuses or pity this time around though, especially not with a former military man in command.
Having that in mind - and being already in place - he started to run. Well, not much running. It was more like walking in a fast pace. His stamina was horrible, his running form equally bad. If he wanted to make 100 laps, the slowest possible had to be his rhythm. That and he also didn't like running - a lazy, unmotivated and depressed 15 year old and physical activites aren't things that go well with each other.
And so, at his own, slow pace - the one of a student who really didn't feel like being there - he started doing what he was instructed.
Maybe he wasn't that good of a soldier afterall.
Notes: Ryuu and exercise are two things that do not fit. Words: 550.

Demon Machine i no longer fear ending my hell Right after the ceremony, the first class was to take place. All three hero classes were grouped together for their first physical education course. The principal of Yuuei was the one heading the course, which seemed odd considering principals were more like managers compared to the teachers that were to teach. However, given the school's age and circumstances, this was one of the many things that were going to surprise Nyke as the first year played out. Like the rest of the students, they were presented with the school's gym uniforms they were to wear for the class. They weren't your typical Japanese uniforms that certain schools seemed so fond of portraying. Instead, the classes were presented with unflattering sweats that represented the school they were attending. The classes were asked to change and then run a hundred laps around the school's field.
Like many of the other students, Nyle turned her head to see what they would be running. It was a large area to cover with just a single lap. It seemed ridiculous to even ask for something that outrageous. However, it was the task they were given and they were on the hero course. They were going to be the measuring stick for the following classes that were going to be attending the school. Some students had no shame and changed on the spot. Some ran to the changing rooms right away, while others took their time. Nyke was one of those that took her time. She wasn't one to rush, especially given her quirk. It took her time to speed up and slow down without hurting someone or breaking something. Inside that little body of hers was triple the weight one would expect, so Nyke learned to be careful. She moved to the table to grab the uniform marked for her and then walked to the changing room. Inside, she unbagged the thing to check it first.
Nyke's quirk was a mutation, and part of that mutation was her tail. Her clothes had to be designed with that tail in mind. So when she received a gift of clothing, it was always the first thing she checked. Sure enough, her bottoms had an opening for her to slide her tail through. Not only that, but the back of her top had a small slit in the middle at the bottom where it would overlap her tail. They accommodated her needs for comfort, which was a good thing. Once she was dressed, she exited the changing room and made her way to the field in question. Some students were already making their way around at different paces.
Nyke wasn't really going for speed here. She already knew she wasn't the fastest runner. And with her weight, she knew she could tire herself out very easily if she rushed. So she started with a steady walk and slowly moved into a jog. That was a fast as she was going to go. This wasn't a race or a sprint, but an endurance test and that was what she was going to do. However, as she started, she turned to look the principal in the eyes and spoke before she jogged off.
"Quite the education in this I guess," She remarked, questioning what exactly she was going to learn through jogging around. Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ

It was early morning and it was the first day of class. His mother made him promise that he would be on time on the first day at least, so he was. He yawned on his way to school. Darren wasn’t used to waking up this early in the morning, and his hair was a mess.
A lazy Darren deprived of his usual energy sat through the opening ceremony. Perfect, he thought. That would last long enough to allow him to get some more sleep, so he closed his eyes.
To his disappointment, the speech was short. To his shock, the principal who was also their PE teacher told them to run a hundred laps.
Worse, he wasn’t kidding. Darren dragged himself towards the boxes, grabbed his uniform and went to change.
Soon after Darren was out, and with a final yawn began running. Unbeknowst to him, the exercise was exactly what he needed to wake up. From a mild annoyance, this hundred laps thing turned into a great warm-up.
He soon spied a girl in front of him. She had long blonde hair and began running a little before he did, and while seeing her from behind had its benefits too, his competitiveness soon woke up, probably driven by the hefty cocktail of hormones brewing in all the teenagers present. Right now, it was telling Darren that the view was nice but he couldn’t let a girl in front of him.
There was a good quart of adrenaline in there as well, so Darren started accelerating and soon was running by the girl’s side. He had a cocky smile. He said: “See you later, blondie !” and then he accelerated again, intending to leave her in his dust. No one was getting in front of Darren.

Principal Kobayashi Touma was rather surprised to see the students go on about getting changed and running a hundred laps with little more protest than the occasional grumbling. It was a pleasant surprise. Perhaps they were more aware of what was expected of them than he thought.
Soon enough, most students got changed, and our principal began to survey the student's personalities. He had the same frowning expression. It seemed to be his natural state. He was holding a notepad with the student's files in there. The files were organized by alphabetical order.
One student by the name of Nyke Nora made a remark that sounded sarcastic to him. If it was bootcamp, he would have scolded the recruit, but he reminded himself he was a teacher in a high school. As such, he glanced at the girl in answer and was soon back to his notepad.
The good runners were soon in the lead. Other students, like Ryuusei Igarashi, were less physically apt and lagged behind, Most showed proper pacing and decent physical ability, even if he suspected the blonde kind who just overtook Jasmine Noir may have gassed out if they were to go for the full hundred.
That wasn’t his plan, however. Once most students had run about twenty laps, he blew his whistle and signaled the students to walk for a minute. He then dryly announced that the next exercise was pushups. One student asked him how many. He looked at him in the eye and said in a commanding tone: “Until I say stop."

Haruuhi wasn't out to race... besides, by the time the other students had gotten changed and come out she was already quite a few laps ahead of them. She wondered if anyone was actually counting how many she had done beyond herself? Hopefully the teacher wouldn't immediately assume she had been cheating when she was done before the rest... However, she didn't manage to get over 30 laps before the principal blew the whistle on them and called them over.
With a raised eyebrow, Haruuhi would slow to a stop, sucking in a deep breath to steady her lungs. Now that she wasn't going at a steady pace, her lungs had to adjust to the rapid heart rate and lack of movement. It would take her a minute to adjust, but the principal didn't seem keen to give them that. Instead he immediately ordered them to do push ups to which one student complained and asked how many before getting a rather blunt answer.
Was this really what she sighed up for? a glorified martial arts class that tried to drive you into the ground? What did this really have to do with being a hero anyways? She already knew how to fight, how to face herself...
'I'm still not sold on the idea that this really right for me... I want to be able to save people but... isn't this taking away from that...' She would think to herself, still not used to the idea of school and how it was a necessity. Again, she would take initiative and drop down into full and proper push ups whenever the teacher ordered them too.
'complaining wont get me anywhere... just do it and analyze the situation later...' She thought to herself, completely distracted by her own thoughts as she moved seemingly effortlessly into her push ups. It helped that music was constantly playing in her mind, keeping her motivated to keep going...

This fire in my head's got me on edge Faded on a thread, don't know what's next Jogging rather casually at her own pace, Jasmine paced her breathing; if they were actually going to be running a hundred laps each, it didn't make sense to waste any excess energy. They'd just burn out way too quickly and would end up sprawled out on the ground without even being able to finish the exercise. Hell, she figured she'd have a lot of trouble with the hundred even if she remained calm.
Her eyes drifted towards the principal as she ran, mind wandering a little as her body ran on auto-pilot, as it so often does when she goes out for her evening jogs. She couldn't help but think how much this reminded her of some sort of boot camp. There were several friends back from NYC who went to boot camp. Some came back, some didn't. But the ones that did painted to her a very similar picture to the one she was currently in. Unreasonable routines with high expectations and no room for hurt feelings, those who complained often getting the short end of the stick and being tortured even more.
Then again it made sense, really. Jasmine had considered the position she was in the moment she signed the paperwork to enter Yuuei. The first ever hero school of its kind. The expectations on their shoulders as the first ever class of heroes educated and trained in the hero program was undoubtedly enormous. Thus she wasn't really surprised that the training that followed would be bone shattering. This particular one was an introduction - something to weed out the people readily unprepared. She was expecting something more, and was sure she'd be getting it.
Interrupting her train of thought was a voice. A slightly irritating one, at that. Glancing at the unknown male to her side, she quirked an eyebrow as he overtook her. The smug look on his face made her want to catch up and leave the guy in the dust but the blonde composed herself. Yes, she was competitive to a fault, but with the principal's eyes watching them she didn't want to get gassed the moment he decided to switch gears on them.
As if on cue, they were told to stop the moment they hit the twenty lap mark. Jasmine herself had finished a little over that number. She had built up some sweat, but overall the girl felt fine as she walked out the initial fatigue, feeling a little burn in her calves. Hopping in place several times, the blonde set her gaze on the principal, humming to herself when he addressed one of the complaining students. So that's how it is, she thought, not entirely surprised.
Walking to an area a little less crowded, Jasmine noticed the guy who had overtaken her during the run. Walking by him, she poked his leg with her foot, "Burns, doesn't it, bush-for-brows?" She said with a smug smirk as she walked by, stopping a dozen or so feet from him.
Diving onto the ground, Ember began doing the push ups at a controlled pace once again, keeping a level-head while expecting harsher training to come.

I often feel like a butterfly with broken wings Holy... I-I'm not used to this...
He was talking, but at such a low sound that no one else would hear him. Besides, even if someone was close enough to him, the sound of Ryuu loudly gasping for air would interfere with anyone that would try to understand what the fifteen year old Yuuei student was saying.
He ran at a small pace, but he was already sweating a lot; already way too tired. However, he didn't even ran half of the 100 laps. At around the 20th, the teacher blew his whistle, which made Ryuu to stop in the first place. They began to walk in order to calm down and let the body settle in. For that one minute, Ryuusei was able to start controlling his breathing, but his body hurt like hell. He wasn't that skinny, but he was clearly in a bad physical shape in terms of stamina. That and having no motivation also didn't help at all.
It was for those reasons that he internally screamed once the Principal told all the students to start doing push-ups until he told them to stop.
You have to be kidding...
No. He wasn't going to that. Not on that first day. He was smart enough to know that if the Principal lied about the 100 laps then he wasn't going to make them do push-ups for that long. But what would he demand next? And after that? That wasn't the military, he couldn't just speak and hide the truth as it pleased him.
The Principal was with his back turned, his attention centered on the ones already doing the push-ups. That was it. That was the chance. Ripping a hole inside of his uniform left pocket, he touched his underwear. Then the rest of the uniform, inclunding socks and shoes; then his skin. All activated and ready to go.
Yeah, I'm boucing.
Holding his breath, Ryuusei Igarashi vanished, heading quietly but quickly to the locker rooms in order to get changed and then, once again, go inivisible in order to leave the Training Grounds unnoticed.
The teacher would probably notice it later on. ANd, since he was the principal, Ryuu was expecting to be called up to his office on the upcoming days. But, at that moment, it didn't matter.
Ryuusei wanted to go way and knew how to do it - and so he did it.

Demon Machine i no longer fear ending my hell Nyke continued at her slow pace until she heard the whistle from the principal. She was already in her own little world and ready to continue, but it seemed as though they weren't going to do the full one hundred as all. Next, he wanted them to do push-ups until he said to stop. Again, it was just exercising rather than actual physical education. Nyke wasn't really learning anything at all, so what was the purpose of this activity. Was it just to get them in shape? Nyke couldn't say that she was athletic, but of the majority of the students here, she was just as stronger or stronger than most of them. What she lacked in speed, Nyke made up for in strength and resistance. She was a heavy metal tank, but that wasn't purely the results of her muscles. The idea of bulking up didn't sit well with her, however, so she wasn't too keen on doing all of this.
However, she would silently go along and gather with the rest of the students. Some of them went along with it while others disappeared entirely. How useful a quirk that was. Nyke positioned herself on the ground and started to do the push-ups. Her tail hung in the air for a while as she started and then started to sway up and down in motion with her repetitions. Once again, she moved at a slow and steady pace. This one was a lot harder for her given her weight. She wasn't just pushing the weight of some normal teenage girl up and down, but the weight of one with metal bones. It was over double what the others had to do, so Nyke needed to make sure she was careful not to tire herself out. Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ

As the students were pushing away at the ground, fighting against gravity, the principal walked among them with his same hard glare, his file under his arm. He corrected the posture of a few students. Some of them were doing good, pacing themselves right. Other were tiring themselves out needlessly out of a sense of competition. Others yet fled the class. He always had the ability to count people at a glance and knew a few students had sneaked out.
He stopped in front of Nyke Nora. Something was tugging at his mind, so he pulled up her file. The girl with the metal bones. “Nora-san, you may stop now.” Cutting a complaint short, he added: “Metal bones, twice the weight.” They had been pushing non-stop for two minutes, and some students already gave up, laying meekly on the floor.
It might be the first hint the student got that their principal wasn’t entirely crazy. He aimed for this first PE class to be an examination of how the students would react under extreme, unexpected duress. He came from a military background, and boot camp had drilled into him that a defender of peace needed to be ready at all times. A minute later, he told the remaining students to stop.
Shortly after that, it was squats. Then, jumping jacks. Situps. Pull-ups. A battery of physical exercises aimed at draining the students of their energy. None of them were expected to complete it; it was the training regimen of special forces soldiers, after all. In the meantime, he kept scribbling notes.
Principal Kobayashi Touma finally decided to explain the purpose of the exercise to the drained students that he finally allowed to sit and rest. He employed his best diplomatic tone, which could be described as ‘iced coffee’: “Thank you for your cooperation in this first class. To tell you the truth, you are not expected to follow this training regimen. It is the one employed by the JSDF’s special forces. However, as I’m sure you’re well aware of, given that you attend this school, you are gonna find yourselves in trouble during your career. You might need to ferry injured civilians on your back. You might have to hold your breath in toxic fumes. You might need to clear some debris.” “In the future, expect more practical and more tailored exercises, as I get to know all of your… Peculiarities.” He adjusted his tie and continued. “As for those who skipped…”
He smiled in front of the students for the first time. “They’ll get a convocation and supplementary classes, in the interest of fairness.” He shifted back to his usual serious tone. “Now, to conclude this class, I will examine your teamwork.” Without anyone noticing, he’d somehow got himself a soccer ball under his feet. “This is a reinforced soccer ball, so feel free to go wild.” It is a PE class, after all, he felt he had to remind himself.
In a smooth motion, he rolled it in front of him and kicked it with an impressive amount of power for a quirkless individual towards Jasmine Noir, the girl with the explosion quirk, keeping up his explanation all the while. “You will form teams of two. You may handle the ball however you wish to handle it.” He made a motion at the students to follow him, and he led them towards a series of dodgeball fields traced on the ground. “The rule is to not let the ball hit your area, lest the other team score a point. And, just to be entirely clear, you may use all of your abilities.”
Maybe some were starting to note his avoidance of the word ‘Quirk’. Lastly, he added that the teams were to be drawn at random, a practice the students would soon get used to with their principal.
For now, it meant that Daimon Darren and Haruuhi Nakamura were about to dispute a heated tennis/dodgeball match against Nyke Nora and Jasmine Noir. The suit-clad principal would start patrolling the fields, examining the performance of the students. He wished to see how each of them would use their abilities in this match, in spite of the fatigue, and for those whose quirks were poorly adapted to the exercise, how would they compensate.

Indeed, his calves burned, as well as the rest of his body.
One of Darren’s worst flaws was his stubbornness and competitivity. When the blonde girl kicked him in the calve, he took it as a personal challenge. He caught on quickly to what he thought was the principal's intent: seeing who could do the most before he said stop. As such, he set out to do just that.
By the time the jumping jacks came, he was getting short on breath.
When the students were finally allowed to sit down, Darren was winded. He kept doing his best to stay in front of Blondie despite the fatigue, and it had taken its toll on him. He welcomed the rest and what he thought was the end of the class, satisfied with himself, blissfully unaware that what the principal wrote in his file about him was ‘competitive idiot who gasses out too fast’.
But then, he announced one last exercise. The delinquent groaned loudly when he got himself up. Apparently, they were playing tennis with no net with a reinforced soccer ball on dodgeball fields.
Okay.
He was paired randomly with a redhead, although she was more of a carrot-top with big green eyes. Darren towered a good head above her. She had the demeanor of a loner, and he wasn’t too pumped about it.
Once he heard they were up against Blondie, though, he immediately perked up, slapping his cheeks with both hands to fire himself up. “Let’s fucking do this.” He tried taking on a more friendly face, but it was obvious from his earlier behavior he just wanted to out-do the American -- has a half-Australian, he had a built-in radar for those Yankees. “I’m Darren, and I move real quick real fast, what do you do?”

One by one Haruuhi went through every exercise with determination. Her martial arts training let her embrace every exercise like it was second nature... though the sheer amount of them was really starting to wear on the girl, even with her prior training. She was sweating, A LOT but not once did she give up. She didn't have a quirk that gave her super strength, or super resistance, but she had a determination to prove that you didn't need it... that even if you had a quirk solely meant for support, you could push yourself through anything.
When they were finally aloud to sit and rest however, Haruuhi let herself fall onto her back as she breathed heavily, every breath causing her chest to rise and fall dramatically as her lungs ached for the air the girl was drawing into them. Just what kind of P.E class was this anyways?? Why was he putting them through special forces training!? It was more than a bit much for day 1!
Well, at least it seemed like further classes would be more tailored to their current skills, which meant Haruuhi could expect something a little lighter in terms of effort... though she felt she needed to learn more about their principal before she went ahead and made that kind of assumption... the first step to that was to snoop through his cellphone...
Just as she started to tap into the Principal's radio signal, she was distracted by a boy who seemed entirely too enthusiastic about their next game... a high intensity game of volleyball against two of their classmates.
"Uhhh..." Haruuhi's face suddenly started to go red when it dawned on her that she was being spoken too. She sat bolt upright suddenly, her muscles screaming at the sudden action that strained them so much. She must have looked like one hell of an idiot sitting there, unsure of what to do or say and just blushing like a younger schoolgirl.
"uhm... uh... I'm Haruuhi... I just... control radio waves..." She would mumble, her voice barely audible as she would slowly push herself back up to her feet. Her quirk was in no way catered to this.

This fire in my head's got me on edge Faded on a thread, don't know what's next Extreme, unexpected duress. That was exactly what she was used to. And exactly how she liked it. It was a welcome change of pace from the dreary 'calm' that her everyday life had turned into ever since coming to Japan.
Jasmine went through her reps at a relatively stable and reasonably fast pace, controlling her breathing every time she went through a push up. Down - inhale. Up - exhale. It had continued for over two minutes, but Jasmine was still feeling fairly fresh. All throughout the next few drills, the blonde refused to give in to the practically palpable aura of competitiveness that the dude who called her 'blondie' was exuding. She wondered what exactly his problem was. But at the same time she figured he'd end up being quite the amusing experience.
She didn't give in. Her gut told her she shouldn't. Based on the way the principal kept throwing drills at them, it was clear that he was trying to weed out the competition - to see who could take how much. And, honestly? Jasmine was almost positive he wouldn't be done until one or two remained standing. Which was made all the more apparent when only four stood and a ball was kicked towards her.
Jasmine caught the ball by bumping it against her chest, gasping very slightly due to the force behind the principal's kick. She figured he wouldn't be a pushover. Maybe it was some kind of muscle enhancing quirk? She couldn't tell. If it wasn't? Well, that was one helluva kick.
She begun bouncing the ball with her knees, occasionally switching to her feet when she lost balance before shifting back to her knees, as she listened to the principal explain their next task. A two versus two. Against bush-for-brows, to boot? Her day was getting better and better by the minute.
Admittedly, Jasmine was pretty tired. Clearly not as tired as she would have been had she given into the blond kid's competitive provocation, but to say that she was in tip-top condition would have been an overstatement of her physical ability. She was strong, sure, but her stamina could've used a little work. Although, she was pretty confident that she'd be able to see this through to the end fairly easily. Considering how tired that dude seemed? This would be a cinch.
Jasmine looked towards her assigned partner, the girl coming across as rather peculiar, yet the blonde noted that she would undeniably be an asset considering what they were supposed to do, "Hi!" She greeted, offering a lazy salute as she kept bouncing the ball with her feet, "I'm Jasmine. Feel free to call me Jaz. Mind if I take the first shot?" Without waiting for an actual answer, Jasmine kicked the ball into the air.
She had played both soccer and basketball quite a lot as a kid. Those were one of the only times she felt like she had an actual childhood - playing with the kids in the neighborhood when the adults were busy being assholes to each other instead of taking it out on them. As such, she decidedly employed her skills, jumping up into the air and kicking the ball as hard as she could as soon as it was within arms reach, sending the ball hurling at bush-for-brow's face at high speeds.
