Perhaps it was the absence of others that had pressured him along thus far to be so willing with her prodding questions and alluding comments. He knew where it would end up if it continued unchecked. Certainly she did as well, right? It would be rude of him to project his own desires upon him, that alone would be a strange dynamic to be involved with, but it wasn't like it stopped him before. Besides, he wasn't anyone's boss anymore. He was just a man, who used to own it all, now, he was reduced to just a man with a fortune, who lived with a few strange and interesting people, in replacement of the family he once had. But, perhaps, they were his family too. They were just a byproduct of circumstance. Who was to say they weren't also part of the same invisible bonds that kept them together? It may not have been blood, but what was the difference? Though, for some reason the simple act of licking lips, to cure whatever dry or chapness, was captivating. His eyes locked on, watched until it receded back into her mouth. Her blue eyes assessing him, until she passed her own judgement, and a call was made. A simple one that he would have to respect. Right. It was just a simple matter over coffee. A discussion perhaps, or whatever it was. Something to help her wind down after a long day of work. Something to help him deal with his own burden. A mutually beneficial agreement. The pair continued, Sato still taking small steps in the direction of the promised location. Again, a simple question that would get a simple answer, except when it was asked of Sato. "Unfortunately, I wouldn't know much about the subject." he would say with a bit of nervous laughter, "When you have money, it's almost natural to be distrustful of other's intentions, or question if they were genuine." He admitted to his small sob story, something that wasn't actually asked of him. "Empathy is because you care. Caring isn't always an easy thing to do." he would speak, calmly, trying to control himself. "Forgive me for being honest I suppose." he would say, confessing to his story, but not yet his feelings about the female before him. "My father wasn't a kind man, and my mother was nice, when she was there at least." He smiled ans shrugged off the next thought. "I was just the next step in keeping the family legacy. I ended up falling for someone they actually approved of, but she didn't feel the same. After we had our daughter I just..." He waved his hand around, as if to dust the air from his clouded mind. ". . .She wasn't happy. So I told her to just leave. I offered her financial support, and I haven't seen her to this day."He caught himself in midthought as he looked back over to Sophie, only to realize what he was doing again. "Shit. Sorry for unloading this all on you. I just don't get to t-... Well, let's go get that coffee..."~ 514 ~

The sublimely sinful seduction of science~
❝ “ T-There’s nothing wrong with empathy, or honesty, for that matter?” The knot that had formed in the brow of the blonde beauty growing larger as it seemed that Sato felt his feelings and thoughts were the type of business he should need to apologize for, Miss Sequoia shook her head and shone those big blue eyes toward him sympathetically when he seemed to seek her forgiveness for sharing just a little of what burdened him, and hoped that her refusal to accept such things convinced him it might be better to open up than hold things in. Certainly not enjoying the idea that the ill effects of a misguided parent could make even a commanding figure like this clam up so very much and feel so very ashamed of what he experienced internally, though she knew that she was being naïve and overly idealistic she couldn’t help but refute the idea that everyone should be so very guarded, because honestly that was something she tried to avoid. “At least that’s what I think? That the world would be a much better place if people could be more exposed in terms of their emotions and ideals, without fear of judgement or reprisal?” Keeping her secrets like any woman of course but usually one of the most up front people one might meet, that would readily be evidenced by Sophie’s earlier confession on the mildly embarrassing things she had been looking up earlier, and she hoped also would stand as evidence that sometimes one could be vulnerable without it being an issue. After all, even this cynical figure hadn’t ever sought to take advantage of her or the issues she had brought to him, now had he? So maybe it was an easy fact to prove not everyone was that awful. “O-Oh, I see…” A little surprised when she found Sato speaking of his wife for a number of reasons, even though the gaze of the girl might have brightened just that little bit at the recognition Miss Sequoia chose not to focus too much on the slight way in which her heart seemed to leap when he hinted a confirmation of his single status and instead tried to digest what she was being told, and once again found herself frowning because of this. “Heh, I didn’t even know you were married, really? I suppose it made sense since your daughter and such, but no one ever mentioned your wife and such?” Perhaps most surprised by the fact that she had never guessed that the man would have a bride waiting for him somewhere but unsure of whether that was because of a simple matter of ignorance or some twisted form of optimism, the blue eyed beauty rubbed the back of her head as she admitted her lack of awareness and even called attention to how silly her lack of assumption had been in light of other facts, all while trying to avoid letting her hopes and ambitions lift a little in light of this new information. “Y-Yes, if you still want to, of course?” That little moment of closeness, compassion and perhaps something more than that almost having made Sophie forget entirely about where the two of them had been heading however, she found herself almost gasping as she was reminded of their destination and her own obligation toward it, and yet despite that latter fact found that she felt it was better not to pressure him to continue toward it if he didn’t feel up to it. “I’d understand if you had better things to do than put up with me wittering away, so if you wanted a raincheck, that could be fine too? We’ll just say I owe you one for another time~?” Managing to gauge his condition both physically and mentally a little better in the interim and guessing that he might not be all that excited about a public appearance in light of both the wounds she now recognised and the fraying state of his mental health, even though the blonde biologist had every intention of making up the debt that she felt she owed the fellow for her mistake earlier she also wanted to be that bit more considerate toward his condition now she understood it better, and left the decision in his hands alone. Happy to follow whatever choice he made.

It wasn't wrong for him to unload his feelings. It was however, perhaps rude to assume she was ready to carry the burden. They may have been familiar, that alone may have been the reason for him to unpack his feelings. Maybe another contributing factor was the emotions he felt around her. He felt compelled to be honest, yet it was the truth he still was very aware was the problem. He was ashamed of not who he was, but his methods of how he became. All of that evil underhanded moves over people just to get ahead of them. All of those tactics. School left unfinished just to get a grasp of the realities of the workplace. Now he stood a retired executive with a reputation built on lies and deceit. Now, he was a man who was on his way to coffee while he was wrapped in self inflicted wounds. A man who was reduced to nothing after all of his travels. His legacy reduced to just a household name, an honor he would not lose when he was dethroned. Something he was both thankful for, and ashamed of. His father, was just as corrupt as he was. Even Sato could see that much. He was just like his father. Perhaps if he was an honest man from the start the weight on his heart would have been much lighter. Even so, to ease his burden would only make the pain of losing his daughter that much harder. To lose her, and wonder how much more he could have done. Now, he had paid the price of his soul, but he could live knowing he tried everything he possibly could to save her. That was a fact he could live with. It was a choice he had to live with. "If you could call it that." he would say. "Our families would never accept divorce. It was the only way for us to be happy, and to please the parents." Perhaps it wasn't wisest to admit to his marriage, but even so, it was the truth. "No one enjoys speaking about an ex." It was perhaps, the easiest way to explain the truth. Given the circumstances, he would continue his walk. "well, regardless, I think I could use the peace. And if willing, I'll treat you to it, seeing how I've now burdened you with my life's problems." A shy smile, knowing what horrors he had undone to himself. He was just a man who was trying to find his way back to his original path, all while he was lost in his own void. There might not have been a way back, but he would search for any place had more light than where he was. And like a moth to a flame, Miss Sequoia was the brightest light to be found. He was more than captivated, he was infatuated with her. There was no longer a lust in his soul but that lingering feeling he thought he once knew. What was it called again? ~ 501 ~

The sublimely sinful seduction of science~
❝ “Don’t you ever… Do something just because you want to?” Tilting her head as she spotted a pattern in the way that Sato seemed to speak and act that she really couldn’t help but point out, even though it probably wasn’t her place to comment on the life of a man who was likely beyond millionaire level and for all intents and purposes her boss as well, Miss Sequoia couldn’t help but crease her brow for a moment as he mentioned pleasing his parents again and point out that these stories always seemed to have one common denominator among all of them; he was going out of his way to ensure others were satisfied without seeming to consider his own. “Heheheh, forgive me for saying so, but it seems like you’re always worried about pleasing someone or other with your actions, but it never sounds like it’s you?” Certainly doubting that this commanding figure had lived anything other than what most folk would have seen as a luxurious and privileged lifestyle, at the same time he seemed to give off an air that almost felt like he had forced himself into martyrdom in order to achieve that, and the blonde couldn’t help but wonder if he might have been a lot happier without his money but with his own sense of drive and direction toward whatever it was he desired. If there was anything other than being the good son and dutiful husband, of course. “Oh, well that’s great~!” Smiling when it seemed that she would not be without her dashing date for the coffee trip after all, while Sophie would have well understood if he had found himself feeling too unwell for one reason or another to take the lifeline she offered to him she felt overjoyed that he was willing to indulge her, and hoped that her company for the course of a drink might just be enough to lift him a little ways out of the melancholy that he felt. “No no, this is my treat for you!” Protesting quickly however when it seemed that the man wanted to be the one who provided for her, the blue eyed beauty shook her head and even went so far as to stamp her heel into the ground as well as she denied him, and didn’t mind one little bit that she perhaps looked a little childish for doing so at the age of twenty six years old. “You think I’m a welsher? I promised you a cup of coffee and a sweet treat of your own choice, and that’s what I intend to deliver~” Wagging her finger as she made sure that there were to be no misunderstandings between the pair of them about her desire to uphold her integrity, while it was generous of Sato to offer to pay and given the money he had Miss Sequoia guessed whatever cost would be like a drop of a drop in the ocean she upheld her desire to offer him something, partly out of her own sense of pride and independence but also because she doubted that the figure opposite her often tended to be given little indulgences like this. At least not without the expectation of something in return, that was. “It’s not too far now anyway, just around the corner~” Turning on her heel again and feeling a bit better about the worries she had felt about what she been told by the titan behind her now that she had a chance to do something nice for him, the sapphire eyed siren carried such a spring in her step now that she was practically skipping as she moved off and then neared the bend that would lead them to the nice quiet spot she had in mind for them to drink and bond, and hopefully come away from this impromptu get together feeling a whole lot better afterward as well…

"Well, I'm talking to you, aren't I?" His father had long passed. His mother was not around. He was passed being the perfect son, yet he still acted as such. Always something to prove to someone. Everything done to preserve a legacy. It was how he was. His life was his own, and thus was not worth his interest. He focused on pleasing others before himself. His mind racing on how to make people happy. It was the foundation of The Corporation. The Best You. He did everything to help others, and make them whole, while he was in pieces. It wasn't about him, it was about them. Maybe she was right, because well, she was. He was always trying to please others, and in doing so, had to make hard choices. To pick years of friendship over his own blood, might have been his greatest regret, but there was no other option. Nothing he did could save his soul. IF she was a hero, she would break free, until, well, she didn't. His arms held her body in those moments after. There was no final words, there was no final moment. There was only regrets and what ifs. Maybe if he had focused more on himself, and not others, maybe he wouldn't have been in this mess. Just maybe. "Sophie, this time spent, is a treat. Besides, it wasn't like it was hot anyways." The coffee. Not like the coffee was hot. Warm maybe, but not hot. The same couldn't be said for the rest. Besides, where the hell was that place? But with the stomping, he couldn't help but smile so wide his eyes closed. He would laugh, "I wish I held onto my youth. I can't help but feel like an old man." He would hunch over and let out a small disgruntled groan as he would pretend to be an elderly man for a moment. He would rise again, laughing, hoping to be on the way there. "Alright, fine." he would finally give in with a shrug. But he wasn't done fighting for it. He never agreed with others paying for him, especially when he knew the wealth that dwarfed them compared to him. But even so, it was something he would have to live with. Sometimes pennies from the poor meant more than the millions from the wealthy. Well, or something like that. "You'll pay for the coffee this time, i'll pay for the dinner next time."~ 405 ~

The sublimely sinful seduction of science~
❝ “Heeheehee, well… If I’m your ‘doing it for Sato alone’ type treat we’ll have to make a regular event of this, no?” Almost wanting to gasp when the dashing figure nearby seemed to declare his time with her as something he was doing only for himself but finding herself giggling instead, Miss Sequoia couldn’t help but feel really rather flattered that of all the things that had happened to him he considered this talk and trail to the coffee house to be something special and significant, and even if she tended to assume he was making a bit of a joke in that assessment still smiled because of what he said. “I’d hate to think I was making you miss out on doing something… ‘Sensibly Selfish’, shall we say?” Eager to suggest the fact maybe this kind of event or at the very least the opportunity for them to relax and vent a little stress should not be something of a one off, even though the blonde knew that she was proposing making their meetings a little more regular in no small part because of that lingering feeling of attraction to the man right now she hardly cared for such an admission of influence, and as he continued to speak found her worries on such a matter melting away even more. “Ohhhh, a treat you say~? Gosh, you certainly sound like kind of a smooth talker when you put things that way~? Is that what you’re like in the boardroom, buying up businesses~?” The blue eyes of the beauty widening as he seemed to affirm the fact that he considered his time with her something of an indulgence and honestly the more vain side of the given certainly appreciating that, while the show of confidence seemed to falter a little bit when his woes seemed to reassert themselves upon the man, Sophie was more than happy to help brush them away in her own special and slightly salacious manner as she paused in place and cocked her head as she responded to him with coy coquetry and then took things a step further to really try and lift that lacking esteem that little bit more. “Heeheehee, now what’s wrong with a little age and distinction, hm~? I honestly think… An older man can be quite sexy~?” The experience of the educated enchantress telling her that there was nothing like the attention of a younger woman to make a man feel that bit more youthful and honestly part of the thrill she felt for this figure sourced from the somewhat significant difference in their ages, the scientist turned full on siren as she not only stepped deep into the personal space of the man with a sudden sense of assertion to look into his eyes, but also let her bravado get the better of her as she lifted a delicate finger to match her devilish words and brushed toyed with the silvery plume that seemed to adorn his hair so spectacularly. “D-Dinner…?” Still somewhat bowled over however when it seemed that Sato had suggested the two of them grabbing what might just have amounted to a daring little date together, the blonde blushed a little as she pictured the pair of them in some fancy restaurant eating fine food, and probably making those kind of eyes and expressions at one another as they did so. “Wow… Well, I can hardly say no when you’re turning on the charm like this, huh~?” In all honesty rarely the romantic sort but in this case the promise of ‘more’ with this man giving a rather strong sense of temptation to Miss Sequoia to indulge that little crush she had been nursing all this time, while she doubted that the two of them were going to end up with some epic ever after and really did not wish to head that way she couldn’t help but agree to the idea with a guilty little smirk on her face, feeling incredibly flattered by his attention and even more excited by where it might lead them to. God, even after all the turmoil between the two this felt so much more satisfying than picking up studs on the net, didn’t it…?

"Well, Sato does a lot of things. For himself." All of it was left to chance. From a small coffee spill, to just crossing paths once more. Perhaps it would be more than it seemed, or it simply was just a small gathering over a warm drink. Only time could tell. With her next words he would simply shrug and smile. Perhaps everything he did was for himself. Maybe everything was to further his own life and powers. But maybe just this little thing was just for his pleasure, nothing to gain other than his pure enjoyment. Perhaps if it went well, it would be a reoccurring activity for the both of them. It would have looked bad otherwise. A weekly meeting, dates with your boss? Well, Sato was no longer the man in charge, and as such, there was no harm done in taking the moment to himself. His complicated life would have to wait. "What happens in the boardroom, stays in the boardroom." He couldn't help but laugh at the idea of it. But was he laughing because of the words being amusing to him, or was he simply enamored with his company? The reason would be irrelevant, only the fact that at the core, it was Miss Sequoia who had been the cause of it. Though, the mention of him being sexy did cause him to raise a brow. Perhaps something witty could be said, but he would save that moment for later. He didn't always agree with the idea of older men staying with the more youthful females for a chance to relive their prime. It was a strange fantasy he couldn't get behind. A gross fetishization of youth. That being said, while he was attracted her to her, she was still a decade or so younger than him. Even if mentally she may have exceeded him in maturity, it was something that lingered in the back of his mind. "Well, I mean, I'm not going to cook for you. That's something saved for at least the fourth date." He would smile, continuing on his path to his replacement coffee. But part of him wondered if it was the coffee he was looking for, or just her time. If it were the latter of the two, wouldn't he have settled for something cheaper, fresher, and easier? She was going home anyways. What was stopping him from getting a brew freshly made at home? ~ 407 ~

The sublimely sinful seduction of science~
❝ “Ohhhhh~? Sounds interesting~” The brows of the blonde lifting as Sato corrected her opinion that she was the only thing in his life that he seemed to enjoy purely for his own self-interest, though she had been largely joking when she made such an assertion about him, suddenly Miss Sequoia couldn’t help but wonder what other things the man might do to keep himself entertained. “What does a man like you do to enjoy himself, huh~?” Smiling and tilting her head when she broached the subject rather boldly, while the attempt of the academic angel to learn more about him was largely born from her own intrigue she also hoped that talking about some of his hobbies might have helped him forget his dour mood that bit better, but largely the attempt was aimed at finding out spicy details and the like. Though the reason why she hoped to hear a little bit about a wilder side to him was probably better left to the imagination. “Heheheheh, oh really, sworn to secrecy huh? Sounds exciting…” Once again finding herself fascinated when he laid out another playfully cryptic comment toward her and this one about the meetings between himself and the upper management, now that things were getting relaxed and just a little bit frisky between them Sophie couldn’t help but think of the kind of devilish activities those with wealth and influence might indulge, and only half attempted to hide that line of thinking as she probed this issue as well. “Maybe I’ll have to sneak into the boardroom with you sometime, huh~?” Smirking and even going as far as to add a suggestive little lip bite as she offered her accompaniment to this event in a manner that was a mix of coyness and coquetry, though by and large she used this flirtatious innuendo for their common entertainment the blue eyed biologist couldn’t help but picture the two of them with a bit of privacy and a nice big table to exploit, and naturally those sorts of fantasies lef to a place which might have just sent a little shiver up her spine as well. “Heeheehee, cooking huh? That sounds pretty nice…” Gigging once more when Sato next seemed to make a little joke about making her wait to sample his culinary skills and honestly enjoying the idea of him serving up something delicious in a pristine white apron, though the notion entertained Miss Sequoia for a moment, as she turned his line over in her head she couldn’t help but stiffen up just a little bit and find just a little bit of her amusement vanishing as he recalled previous ‘dates’ and the like. “But um, speaking of dates, I should warn you… I’m uh… Not wholly conventional when it comes to relationships…? People seem to expect girls to be ‘clingier’ shall we say, than I tend to be…?” Shaking her head from side to side as she felt that heat inside her grow that little bit colder when she recalled how some had responded to her when they discovered she wasn’t much for the game of courtship, given the fact that she had these sour experiences she couldn’t help give a soft sigh and explain the fact that while she enjoyed a spot of ‘fun’ with a man or even a woman as much as any other, unfortunately her proclivities meant that she was not one for a supposed happy ever after. She was married to her work, and anything that happened with anyone would unfortunately be like an affair to most people; exciting, but usually also relatively fleeting…

Perhaps the excitement of something new was too much for him to bear. Perhaps it was the flood of different emotions he could explore without judgement. Maybe it was just the reason that he no longer needed to uphold a name. He was retired. Any washed out celebrity turned into background noise after some time. Cameras faded away until they disappeared. All of his annoyances, the reasons to drive in secret unmarked cars removed. He could freely be the man he wanted to be. He was just a former owner if anything. There was no longer a price on his head, if their was anything. Anyone he had wronged, had been dealt with. Any left out, well, they would become someone else's problem. "I suppose reading. Been finding a lot of open books in my hands." It wasn't something he enjoyed doing at first, but given time, it was something he had been doing quite often. Perhaps it was the example led by the others, or the fact he owned a library and never read from it. Either way, it was something he didn't actively hate to do. There was no harm in reading. "During a meeting, or afterwards?" a curious question, one he would say and not realize the implications until a great deal later. He would not grasp if it was the discussion she wanted to hear, or the seats she wanted to see. Either way, it sounded much more like a nighttime offer to be had in private, given a view of the city. "I do warn, I'm not an award chef. But, I do own a few pretty good cookbooks, and I'm really good at following directions." A bit of the schoolboy in him. He didn't often outright question orders, nor stray far from the path. If it was given to him, he would follow it to the letter. Perhaps after his first attempt he would make small adjustments to the recipe given he could understand the ingredients and their importance to the meal as a whole. But that would be saved for another time. "Trust me, I understand that all too well." he would say. He knew what it was like to busy yourself with other things. He wasn't one for a relationship, but it didn't mean he didn't find company for the night from time to time. A prisoner in his own home, he would find any other bed than his own to sleep in. Perhaps part of him longed for a happy story, a family to go home to. Instead, everyone he chased out, including the only one that wanted to stay there. "I would expect nothing from you, other than yourself." He would speak with a smile. Maybe it was off to a great start. Or maybe it would crash and burn like everything else in his life. Either way, this was going to be his turning point. He had to change as a person. "Besides, it was always my dream to be the stay-at-home one." a smile on his face. Maybe too soon for a joke. ". . . Though I guess that's the benefits of retiring young I suppose."~ 525 ~

The sublimely sinful seduction of science~
❝ “During…?” The sapphire stare seeming to widen at the apparently accidental implication that the dark and dashing man seemed to give her, the mind of Miss Sequoia couldn’t help but dart in a direction that was daring and devilish, and which sounded rather a lot of fun if she was honest with herself. Enough so that her cheeks grew a little pinker just thinking about it. “Oh my, Mr Sato, how will make a woman like me blush~” That latter fact something she wasn’t wholly unaware of either as she felt her face flood with warmth that seemed to even overwhelm the lingering summer heat around them, the blonde smiled and shook her head before coyly pointing out the redness she wore as a result of the fantasy which had been provided to her, and probably helping the ignorant man to realize the route he had been driving her toward. “Heeheheee, oh really~?” Feeling ever more comfortable now that she could flaunt the more salacious side to her person around her boss without feeling all that self-conscious about it, even though this enticing executive was talking in a manner that seemed rather wholesome Sophie couldn’t help but linger on the licentious images he had inspired within her, and because of that found the information she garnered coloured by further carnal imagery. “You seem more the type disposed toward giving the directions, if you ask me~” Smirking and perhaps even showing a little of her ‘hand’ when it came to her own tastes as she laid out a few more tantalizing undertones in the form of a joke, the golden haired girl grinned as she pointed out the contrast between what fine fellow had said and the image that she held of him, and maybe hoped that it would help him to better understand the tastes she hinted at as well. “Heeheehee, cooking, staying at home… Maybe you missed your calling a house-husband~?” All in all a little bit touched when next he seemed to show a rare sense of insight and acceptance of a subject about her that she found a little bit sensitive, Miss Sequoia smiled at the acknowledgement and sympathy that she was shown on this matter and honestly felt all the more attracted to him because of it really, even if she masked that fact behind a playful veneer initially. “But… I appreciate the understanding. I don’t mean to be like that, to seem obsessive, workaholic, unromantic, it’s just… How I am? So it means a lot that I can be myself with you?” Unable to fully conceal those wounds she had suffered in the past when it came to exploring her desires for companionship and the setbacks that she had suffered when showing her unusual approach, the blonde gave a softer smile and tucked her bangs behind her ear again as she offered Sato thanks for the support that she showed her and was moved enough by the gesture to even show a little affection of her own as she stepped around to wrap her arms around his and even attempted to weave their fingers together, offering a humble display of her fondness for him the likes of which few of those fools on her phone would ever have the chance to see from her…

He wasn't the wisest man, but even so he had his moments. He had prided himself on his cunning nature, only to fall face first when it came to actually stringing cohesive thoughts together. With her cheeks turning pink, it was rather obvious to know that his unintentional words had made their mark. There was no taking what he had said back. It had been done. Now it was a matter of clearing the air, or simply running with it. He would smile, trying to brush past the topic, neither confirming or denying his intentions. "Well I don't think myself commanding-." He spoke, thinking only how one could bark orders in a kitchen setting, though his mind drifted over the implied statement from under one's bedsheets. Like before, it would take a short while before he could catch what was spoken. When the time came where he understood, his face would grow bare of emotion has he tried to peg the woman's interests. Was it really going to be a meeting over coffee at a shop, or was this going to turn into a house call? "I still have time to be that. Benefits of being retired." House-husband, stay-at-home boyfriend. It was all the same in the end. He would be the one waiting at home, while another would he would welcome upon return. Not that they would be the sole breadwinner. They could do as they pleased, living on his fortune, and doing just as they intended, without worry of a paycheck. But with her touch extended, he would welcome her grasp with his own interlocked fingers. "Well, then I'm glad I bumped into you... or rather, you into me." A smile upon his face as he would look towards the woman, "Though, at this rate, I don't think we're going to stay long at the cafe, if at all. Besides, home brewed always tastes better."~ 310 ~

The sublimely sinful seduction of science~
❝ “Heeheeheehee, I daresay you’re more than a shade younger and more dashing than the average japanese retiree~?” The blue eyes of the young biologist darting once more to that alabaster plume which sprouted from the head of her cool companion as he mentioned his employment status, while she could have certainly pointed out the fact that the man seemed to spend an awful lot of time in work for one who was currently enjoying his retirement, instead she opted to offer a compliment to him and smiled as she did so. “Though I suppose that does mean you can probably enjoy the delights it offered much more fully than most men could~? Really make the most of it~” Remembering all too well those remarks by philosophers of ages past who seemed to think that youth was wasted on those who were young, even though she tended to be something of a workaholic Sophie had to admit that she was rather intrigued by the idea of how a man this wealthy might live the life of leisure, and especially so about the sort of things he might get up to during it. However, it seemed she would be offered a rather frank insight rather quickly. “Gosh, it almost sounds like you’re wanting to skip the coffee and go straight for something else instead there, Mr Sato~! All of a sudden I’m not sure what to say when you put it that way…” The two of them having danced so long by this point and yet such a bold assumption still seeming to be something that brought a blush to the cheeks of the blonde when it was finally brought to her, given how they had toyed with one another in such a coy fashion thus far it seemed obvious what the implication was here, and yet while part of Miss Sequoia felt tempted to jump on the offer she was given she also felt just a hint of reluctance. Should I…? It’s pretty tempting by this point~ It no secret that she had been searching for something new and exciting and different and this little offer feeling like it might have everything she had wanted rolled into it, without even considering the little crush she had on the man before her either, despite all this she felt just an ounce of intimidation at the idea of throwing in with her boss, but thankfully it didn’t seem to last all that long. “How long does it take to get to your place…?” Instead that want she had felt since the first time she had been interviewed by the man feeling like it had the strength to overpower anything else, and was only invigorated further by the rush of naughtiness which seemed inherent to their connection as well, the colour in the face of the fair femme grew heavier as she pushed away her reservations and offered a definite implication of her own agreement to his suggestion, but didn’t stop there. You’re a bad, bad girl, Sophie… Leaning in close to man and drinking in his musk as she threw caution to the wind and closed her eyes, in a moment the minx was lunging on instinct to suckle on his lips because it felt just a little bit too naughty on her account to go home with a man she hadn’t kissed yet, and as she did so felt all sorts of things stirring up within her and a shiver shooting up her spine. Maybe she was going to feel bad about doing this tomorrow, or maybe not, but whatever happened they had plenty of night left before that happened…

All he could offer was a laugh at the mention of his early retirement. It was less by choice, and more circumstantial, but he was set for life. Until the final day when he died, he was going to be taken care of. Even if the Kobayashi Clan wouldn't extend their hand to help the aging man, he had his own organization to care for him. He was just the man who had the name. With no kin, no significant other, there was nothing to leave behind to anyone. All he could do, was live his life truthfully, and enjoy each moment blissfully. "Wasn't that the point of it all? Why work and enjoy the small moments, when you can work hard and enjoy it all? Rather difficult to see the world in a walker..." The thoughts of traveling as a decrepit old man didn't seen enjoyable. Sticking his nose to the grindstone so to speak for a decade of hard and extraneous work seemed much more appealing. Live out his years as a man, rather than an elderly. No need to plan out vacation times or people to cover your shift. He was free. But now, he was bound by his secret, and the illness that followed. Perhaps he could have given all of his work to prevent the loss of youth to other lifetimes. But for now, he would learn to enjoy the few things he did set in motion, and the few that would benefit from his work. Progress was a world where people didn't have to slave away just to enjoy their time. With her next words, was silence. His mind drifting to all of the mysteries and secrecies of his own palace. Perhaps it would be something well enjoyed at his own domain. But the risk of her seeing a familiar face, one that would raise questions. Either be it one of the staff, or perhaps one of the members that lived there. Or the question of why so many people lived in his house. No, he needed to navigate around the issue. It was one topic he was going to have to avoid for now. But the promise of company under the guise of night until the next day was enticing. It was not one he was going to simply let pass over. "How about you take me to yours, and we'll see about how I can treat you to breakfast tomorrow too." He would say with a smile. With her small movement towards him, he would step towards her. His arm extended to reach out and bring her closer. It was what he wanted. It was what he desired. Perhaps a few years back he would have taken it already, but he was a new man. If she had shown any sign of discomfort he would just walk away. But with this, he would move until he was told not to. As she leaned in, his other hand would softly hold the side of her face, guiding her lips to meet his. "What say you?"~ 505 ~

The sublimely sinful seduction of science~
❝ “I think that’s always been the idea?” Tilting her head as she felt a sudden swell of passion from this cool man as he confirmed his enjoyment for the perks of his success and called out others for their own approach, though what this corporate captain had achieved was certainly wonderful in many ways from what she could tell, Sophie couldn’t entirely agree with his sentiment. “But only a lucky few seem to achieve it…?” Not everyone gifted with the connections and capital he had and mere hard work rarely seeming like it was enough to bridge the gap, though she didn’t wish to be contrary the blonde offered a counterpoint to his suggestion, and honestly felt a bit sad even in a moment as intimate as this that so many were missing out on the privilege of a young retirement as well. Not that she expected she’d join them, after all her work was her passion, and even if she didn’t get paid much for it she was going to keep doing it until she couldn’t anymore. “My place then breakfast, hm~? Now Mr Sato, what sort of a girl do you take me for~?” Not too caught up in her optimism that she couldn’t be thoroughly distracted by both the suggestions her senior made and the actions he took as well, Miss Sequoia felt her pulse pick up with even greater intensity when she felt that strong, firm frame squeezing against her thanks to his grasp, and shivered with delight as she pressed her own slender form against it with nothing but want for more. I can’t believe I’m actually doing this, with my boss as well! It… Only makes it hotter! The breath of the blue eyed beauty growing heavier and heavier as her desires seemed to multiply by the moment, in a second she was gasping and throwing her hands into those dark locks to claw at his scalp and draw her dark and dashing ‘date’ into a kiss she had wanted for so very, very long from him, and didn’t even mind the fact that for the moment she was happy to abandon any respect he had for her as an academic in favour of sating her want as a woman instead. “Whatever it is, I fear you are right on the mark~” Because of that only to happy to nod at his request to head back to her place and admit that for all of her coyness she was flooded with wickedness at the very notion of such a thing, the blonde bobbed her brows as she admitted an ounce of just how naughty she was feeling right now, and that was really enough to let that need snowball from her. “Heeheehee, but I hope you don’t mind slumming it… I don’t have my own maids, well, I do have a costume if push comes to shove but one of us will have to be the one wearing it~!” Giggling and shaking her head as she peeled away from him with a note of reluctance but made up for that fact by seizing his hand within hers, the foreign fox was practically purring and hardly even blushing when she suggested a little roleplay as a lark between them, though ultimately was all about the thirst she felt right now and how she could quench it; eagerly scanning for a cab so that they could get back to her place as fast as possible and explore all the devilish little images in her mind which grew exponentially with every single moment that passed…

It was true. Some were given a ladder to stand on so they could already be above the masses. It was up to them to reach the top as fast as they could, so they could help as many others to rise beside them. Unfortunately, not everyone agreed with the idea. People stood alone for they wanted to enjoy their rewards privately. But how could you pride yourself on winnings you never worked for? Was it simply to relish in the prize of your birthright? Or was it the exclusivity that came with the lifestyle? Either way, Sato was not one to agree with it. People needed money, and people were easily bought. Why not lend a few hands, and saw others fight over his pocket change. Those that could rise above his created conflicts would prove to be the best, and soon to be his most loyal allies. That was how he used to think, but now, it was different. Every ally he made, was an enemy he wouldn't have. Sure, they could cross him and betray him, but with so many who owed it to the man for their new fortune, would they not rise to defend him? That was his honor, his legacy. Now, he could live as a man without responsibilities. Those he cared for, would now care for him. The hand that fed the underworld, would now be fed in return. "All the more reason for me to lend a hand."With the woman pulled near, her grasp would meet his head. Their lips would lock and he would see all of his plans finally line up. Perhaps there was the minor hang up of hiding your secret criminal empire under your own home, but that was a problem to sort later. It wasn't like he was a total bad guy. Sure he laundered money and fixed up criminals so the police wouldn't find their medical records. It was all part of his place in the world. He was the wall that protected the light from darkness. He was that gray threshold before a shadow was cast away. It was the reality he knew. "A girl? No, you're a fine woman to be taken."The smile lingered on his face after their exchange. But with her suggestion, he couldn't help but jump on the opportunity. "Well, then if that's what you're into, I suppose I can wear a dress for an evening." He would laugh, only to lift his hand to hail a cab, or any driver that could see them. It wasn't like someone wasn't bound to recognize him. That was the benefit of lackeys. Some limo was bound to arrive. ~ 440 ~
