Everything was happening so fast, in one instant, the world was a blur of red and hate and anger. The next, her mind had begun to recoil from the excessive emotions. Ishtar staggered, looking down at the mask on the ground at her feet. Her wife's blackened ashes drifting away on the wind currents. She sniffed. Kafka wasn't coming. Of course he wasn't. The wretched creature had no intention of ever keeping his promise. She bit her lip. Fine. She'd burn her quirk at full power until it killed her. She'd burn it all night until she got her hands on that twisted bastard Loki. Then she'd make him hurt. He wouldn't die. No. He would suffer for as long as she breathed and for an eternity after that.
She bore her teeth just as Loki launched into his own salvo, she sneered at him. He didn't understand the agreement between them. What Kafka had claimed to expect from her. Not hat it mattered when the bug didn't show. She'd do it herself then, fine, she wiped some mercury from beneath her eyes and reached down, pulling the respirator over her mouth and taking a deep breath of ultrapurified air. She staggered, savoring it, before flicking her eyes toward Thunder Shock. Toward ... that girl ... she looked like. Miku? Wait no she was older looking. Who the hell? The next few moments were a blur, chaos breaking out as soldiers began to pour in. She took a step back, considering her next step.
She slipped back into her mind. Parsing through the scenario. Something was wrong with the second fix. There was a reaction in him. He was carrying a girl-Miku-the actual Miku. She hadn't agreed to protect the girl but a part of herself couldn't bring herself to ignore her plight. That said, she couldn't kill the second fix. The real Fix had made sure they shared the same name for the others protection, that meant they were important to one another. That was too valuable of information to gloss over, killing that person would not only be wasteful but could destroy whatever headway she'd made. Her quirked mind spun faster, working through variables, details, plans, vantage points. She needed an angle.
Each and every goddamn plan said one thing. If she was to benefit in the long term, if she survived past these next few nights. If somehow she found a cure. Ignoring all else and gunning for Loki would be the worst move she could make. She looked down at the blackened dust at her feet and closed her eyes, hard, as the soldiers poured in around her. Fix barreled in next to her, shouting at her, demanding she attack Loki. She snorted at his remark, looking up at the back of the retreating beast before flicking a warning look at Thunder Shock. His orders were out of selfishness, not logic, she took a breath and analyzed. She'd obey, but only because it coincided with her own strategy. She glanced over at Fix.
"A UA Third Year? Awfully specific," She mused at him playfully, resting her hand on her hip as the soldiers pointed guns at them. "You know, you're about the right height for-" The soldier shouted at them to surrender. Thunder barked more orders and ... damn near hurled Fix! She snarled at Thunder; "THAT BOY IS UNDER MY PROT-" He landed close enough to her and she snorted, looking up at the soldiers and rolling her neck.
"Fine," She hissed through her respirator, holding her head up high as a pale white glow enveloped her. One bullet tore through the air and impacted the radiation. It flash froze, cracking and shattering like glass on impact to the growing halo. More gunfire, more shards of blackened glass. She raised her hands up and like an angry glowing angel, ribbons of white light erupted from her, wrapping around limbs and throats and wrists and heads. Screams punctuated the scene, skin bubbled and turned black, bodies crunched, arms and legs were ripped asunder. She concentrated hard on the space behind her, gritting her teeth. Mercury built in her veins again as her heart pounded oxygen through her body.
A platform of light formed to Fix' immediate left, then another just a bit higher, and another, and another, a staircase of hard light took shape leading toward the roof of a nearby building.
"GO!" She howled, "If you do not want to die as these men, then go! I will catch up! Get your friend! We're leaving!" She cried, putting every ounce of strength into holding together the hard light and keeping up her horrific attack on the soldiers.
...yes, focus on me. They need to escape, I made a promise. She hoped Kado was faring better than she was, though. If the mercury built up too much her halo might give out. She had to work fast. "THURISAZ! THAT BIG TREE! CAN YOU USE IT TO BLOCK THEIR PATH?!" She shouted, whipping her hand up and snatching a man who charged her with a bayonet. The weapon dissolved just as her fingers tightened around his throat. She lifted him off the ground and drove her right hand into his chest, forcing it out the other side. His body began to turn black immediately.
"I need more materials! I cannot make a strategy without tools!"

So the plan had partially worked. Although instead of reuniting Miku with her parents for safety in this situation, she was now being carried away by the goat boy in the leather mask. Either way, she was secure and unable to be used as Loki's personal bargaining chip. Everything seemed to be going according to plan and this undead bastard would be put to rest soon enough...
But before she could quip back at her grandmother, she felt an agonizing and searing pain surge through her arms. As Thorn cried out in agony from the necrotic and decaying effects wrought upon the draconic beast by Loki, so too did his mistress who fell to her knees from the pain she felt coming from her Summon. As the decay spread through Thorn, she felt it in kind throughout her own body.
She was barely aware of the soldiers making their grand entrance, Thorn having retreated to Kado's side for the time being to protect the pained red-head. She was barely aware of Loki starting to make his escape through the same portal technique that had let him arrive in the first place. All she could feel and think about right now was the sensation of something eating away at her flesh, even though her own body was perfectly fine.
The gunfire erupted around her, and Thorn did his best to shield Kado from the soldiers weapons, the great draconic plant beast swinging out with what remained of its claws and vines at the troops. She could hear Thundershock trying to give them all some kind of orders, a bit late for him to try and take command of the situation. Kado grit her teeth and looked up as Sonya... no, Ishtar, yelled towards her. Something about a tree?
The tree! "From... destruction... comes life..." she hissed out, reaching out with her hand towards the collossal tree. The gargantuan tree itself was out of her Quirk's reach, and quite honestly was far too massive in of itself for her to use... But, a tree of that size had to have far reaching roots in order to support its weight and size. With that in mind, Kado placed her hand onto the ground and concentrated, searching for the tell-tale trace of plant-life beneath the concrete surface of civilisation.
"Found... it... BRACE!" she warned Ishtar and Mashu who she realised now was beside her, before roaring through the pain of decay she could feel in Thorn, that she could pseudo-feel in her own flesh, and in a heartbeats moment caused Thorn to erupt into a whirlwind of sakura blossoms that served as a smoke screen for the villains still inside the building. The ground beneath them shook akin to a small earthquake as the root she found shook and tore itself apart, as it erupted to the surface in another cascade of plant-matter before reforming into a new and revitilised Thorn!
This was the third time today she had called Thorn forth, and it was definitely starting to drain her stamina a great deal. But for now she had to press on. "Get on." said Kado to the two women, the pain she had felt from the necrosis now fading with Thorn's new body. The giant tree had now lost two of its roots, so it should maybe start tipping slightly... But that wouldn't be enough for Ishtar's plan.
Kado quickly climbed up onto the back of her draconic beast, and would wait for Ishtar and Mashu to hopefully get on before initiating the next stage of her own plan. "Bury and escape." she ordered Thorn, the plant-born wyvern roaring as it began to take to the air, its vines snapping out around them to the remaining portions of the ceiling and walls of the building. The plan was to try and bury the soldiers in the rubble of the building, or at the very least distract them from making any more moves directly against them.
The real issue however lay with the helicoptors above them... Although there was a possible solution to that situation as well. "Make for the tree Thorn. Let's see how well their rotors handle the thick branches and dense foliage." Kado commanded, the draconic beast nodding in agreement as he made his way in that direction as fast as he could. She just hoped the damned things didn't have missile launchers strapped to them, or this was going to be a very short escape...

The beat of heavy wings was drowned out by the helicopters until the last moment. Like a bolt of lightning from clear sky, a bobbing shadow crashed through the opening in the roof left by the soldiers. It was man-sized, draped in a ragged detective’s coat, with four wiry arms--some mix of insect and human, brown chitin covered in a hundred scars. Smoke boiled off its body and wings, and then suddenly, the smell of burning insects filled the store. It seemed like it had been recently electrified, probably by one of the soldiers outside, but it was injured, it didn’t seem to show it. It dove with a singular purpose at the fleeing Lich. “Ever-ambitious, Ishtar! A great honor in sacrifice!” It called out, a moment before it struck. Its voice was oddly jolly--booming, russian-accented Japanese. “Loki! Do not be leaving without me!” When man hit, it was with direct, unsubtle violence. Its two upper arms slammed into the liches chest with a crunch of bones, while one of the bottom arms reached around the other villain, holding them together in an morbid embrace. Meanwhile, Loki got in a counter-attack--it was hard to see under the cloak and coat, but there was a crunch of breaking chitin. From the sound, it was entirely possible the Lich had drove a skeletal hand into the bug-man’s hand. “Bonds will be severed, the woman cast aside upon my return--I will drag this wretch to you, kicking and screaming!” The bug coughed, sounding like the Lich’s hand might have been in his lung. “Now, Loki, undying against deathless, shall we dance again! Ha! It is good to be back in Japan.” And with that, the two of them tumbled through Loki’s portal.
