"No, no I mean, I appreciate it but it's really not necessary." She tried to argue on the telephone as she stared outside. She felt like she was that delicate daisy that she did not want to be. "That was just an accident. No, I appreciate it very much Tomio but-" He cut her off again and simply seemed to be very worried for her safety and she did want to say it... but she was already in Musutafu and the outside looked very... very something. She bit her lip, wondering what to say and when it felt silent because he asked her where she was, she took a firmer grip on the bag over her shoulder. "M-Musutafu." And she heard him say her name like he was upset and she rolled her eyes as she closed the eye closest to the ear with her cellphone. "I went to train at the gym, I am doing fine."
She took ad deep breath, again waiting till he was done rattling on about what she should do and what not to do and then he stopped, she had missed what he said and carefully asked his name while taking a step back from the exit of the gym. "No wait, no don't send someone to protect me, I will get a cab and go home, okay, nothing to fear." people that stood up from their graves, well she had not been here much longer than 9 months so no one of her dear family would stand up from their graves, they were not even dead yet, but if they were oh god she would want to be a part of it. But that was now not the case if she could go back to Tokyo, but Tomio told her she could not and that she should try to get to U.A. and she felt her mind go crazy again, she did not want to go there, nah-ah! No way in hell would she go to that hero school and she just made up the fake lie that she did not even know how to get there from here and it would mean she had to go outside. She tried to see if anyone else was watching what was going on and if the gym would close the doors to protect the people that were inside. Why was she in Musutafu at this point? It was stupid.
Her partner, or more like fake-friend but he did not know that; the minister of Defense contacted the PSC that they should send a hero to protect his secretary. Considering she had been taken hostage during the Fuchu riots, he wanted to make sure that she was safe. She had to stay put until someone would pick her up and bring her to safety, so that was right now. She would huff and puff and just watch, sitting down on one of the lounge chairs in the gym and she would see, this was a strange thing. Oh, if only she was in Barbados, nothing of this sorts would work there.

define "know" THE MISSION WAS A SURPRISE— Tobias was usually kept out of these sorts of “shit hits the fan” scenarios because the last place the Public Safety Commission wanted him was in the thick of things. It was not the niche that he occupied, anyways—he was the “brain” of most endeavors, not the “brawn”.
But, lo and behold, while Tobias was lounging on the couch in linen pajama bottoms, watching events unfold both over the news and on his laptop. Gertrude was asleep on the back of the couch, Alice splayed across his lap. Tobias had a week’s worth of goods (at least) stashed for catastrophes of any sort, so he figured he would just… ride this month’s disaster out from the safety of his home…
But then the PSC called.
He was to babysit a dignitary. Great.
And there was no arguing with the PSC when they assigned you to a mission. You got your butt off of the couch, put on your hero gear, and waited for the transport.
And today, he was not operating as "The Informant", but as "Scoria”, a low-level sidekick who was just getting his start in the field of heroism. Had a phony profile online ad everything.
Tobias dressed in simple attire—a button-down shirt, slacks, and glasses—and waited until his ride arrived before walking outside. His ride was the kind of car that presidents were transported in—black and nondescript but secretly armored like a tank. These barely saw action, but… well, it was nondescript but well-equipped for mowing-down zombies. Thus, it was Tobias’s carriage. En route, he read the dossier for the mission.
The foreign dignitary was an ambassador by the name of Narcissa King. She was currently trapped inside of a gym and in need of protecting. Something about the name tickled the back of Tobias’s mind… where did he know that name… it had to be the news. With the amount of information he was constantly taking-in, he had to hear about the ambassador from somewhere. Anyways, she was at the gym, and he was to protect her until this whole thing blew over.
The car pushed forward, periodically stopping when necessary, accelerating through hoards of the undead at others. Tobias placed his cell-phone in his pocket and sighed, leaning back and closing his eyes.
He must have drifted-off, for he awoke to someone hitting the side of the car, and the terse shouts of the driver.
“I’m with the PSC, and it is of the upmost importance that you let me in!” the driver insisted, “There is a dignitary in need of protecting, and if you don’t allow this hero and I through, we’ll arrest you on the threat of obstruction of justice.”
A terse exchange followed, but finally the car was permitted into the parking garage of the building, banking up the ramp. Tobias sat-up, retrieving a baseball bat from the adjoining seat. It was… admittedly crude, but he couldn’t risk burning down the gym or burning the dignitary by activating his quirk.
They parked near the elevators, and Tobias stepped-out, straightening his tie.
“Keep the car running,” he insisted, tucking the bat beneath his arm while he put the bone-mic into his ear, “I’ll be in-touch if I need further assistance.”
“Yes, sir.”
With that, Tobias set-off towards the elevator, entering the business through the back door. Some patrons jumped at his entrance, but when they noticed that he wasn’t lurching along and snarling, they relaxed marginally. And when Tobias flashed his badge, they agreed to show him to the front desk.
Ten minutes after his arrival, an announcement went-out over the speakers of the gym.
“Pardon the interruption. King-san, Narcissa King-san, please come to the front desk,” a smooth, female voice trailed, “King-san, your party is waiting. Thank you.”
The microphone clicked into silence again.
As soon as she arrived, she would see a redheaded gentleman, unusually well-dressed, leaning on the counter, the baseball bat still dangling casually from his hand. The last they’d seen one another, Tobias had been in obsidian mode—so the redhead before her now would be, at the very least, unfamiliar by sight alone.

The temptation of going out was high but it seemed many were running or those dead things were there. Her camouflage did not make her untouchable and maybe those dumb brain deads would have no idea what happened, she rather did not risk their filthy touch. She thought about it shortly and hesitated to get up from her chair and get back to the front of the gym and see what she could do by herself. Everyone was told to stay indoors and that they would consider something to do, the doors were probably barricaded so no one could go out or better yet could go in. She wasn't sure if that was a good thing and if someone was there stopping everyone from going out and taking a risk for every one that remained indoors. She came here to train without people watching her, without people knowing her, all those high ministers obviously wouldn't leave Tokyo. It was though obviously better if she would stay here and would wait for the person that was sent to fetch her. It would have been much nicer though if she had not gone to train and was in her penthouse back in Tokyo, several stores above this incident and where she could just pretend nothing like this happened. Huh, the irony.
Why was she always at the wrong place and the wrong time? Or why else was she dragged in all this stuff, she was so done with it if it would continue like this would Tomio find her annoying and would he try to find another secretary? That would be a disaster for her, she had managed to get this job so she would have a future here, that had been her attention all along, she did not need to go higher up or whatever, but she needed something steady as she could never return to Barbados.
Now that she was lost in her thoughts it took her two times before she realized that they called Narcissa King over the speaker. Oh... even worse. "I am here." She quickly lifted up her hand but the woman called her name for a third time before the microphone was shut off and she just had to deal with the person waiting for her. She had no idea who would be waiting for her and just assumed it was the man with the baseball bat, well at least someone with a sense of how to dress, Kozue would appreciate him for sure. "Ehm, hi, are you my escort? I mean I am Narcissa, sorry for the inconvenience." She made a short bow, more fluent in Japanese but still with an accent as before.

define "know" THE GENTLEMAN STOOD IDLY BY the counter, fixing his sleeves, adjusting his glasses—he made polite conversation with the lady at the front desk, doing his upmost to reassure her that, yes, the police officers and heroes alike would get this under control. A crisp voice interrupted the idle chatter, and Tobias lifted his gaze towards the speaker.
Ah—that would explain why he had recognized the name—
Tobias had assumed that he’d simply seen the woman’s name on the news, at one point. Tobias was always watching the news—it was at least partially factual and a great place to start one’s own research. But no—he knew this woman from the botanical garden. A singularly beautiful woman, with whom he’d discussed literature and mythology and flowers. Narcissa. How could he forget that name?
“Ms. King?” Tobias replied. Barbados, her file had said—was that culture more amenable to bowing, or shaking hands? Before Tobias could extend a hand, the woman bowed and introduced herself.
“Yes, ma’am, I’m sidekick Scoria,” Tobias said placidly, returning the bow, “It’s a pleasure to meet you, however dire the circumstances.”
Was it right to say “meet”? They had met before, after all. But it wouldn’t be professional to bring that meeting up. With any luck, she’d forgotten him, and Tobias could spare her the awkwardness that now roiled in his stomach.
“I hope you’ll excuse the baseball bat,” Tobias continued, keeping the implement tucked beneath his arm, “My quirk is rather… incendiary… so I have to make due with other things.”
He waved to the receptionist, thanking her for her help, and gestured ahead of him with an “after you” sort of gesture.
“I have an armored vehicle awaiting in the parking garage, Ms. King,” Tobias insisted, smiling friendlily, “That can take you wherever you desire to go.”

She nodded as she had only introduced her with her first name, right Japan was so focused on honour and politeness and she should have thought about that and maybe she should have been more careful but she was stuck here. She did not want to be stuck, she was tired. She also was sure that they could not understand why in god's name she went to the gym in Musutafu if she could have gone to one in Tokyo but she had wanted to be as far away from potential colleagues to bump into so that was the whole set up but now they were panicking as she had been kidnapped before, well not entirely and yet entirely, it was confusing to explain and she wasn't going to explain it to the goody-guys cuz she did not want to end up in prison herself. She would not make that mistake again and simply bowed in the Japanese manner, she should below them. She should look humble and just like a complete and utter useless woman, wonderful job, very easily done. She hated it.
"nice to meet you." She smiled as he said the same but added the dire circumstances. "Yes, sorry about that. My boss is probably a little paranoid because of the kidnapping last time." She brushed through her caramel coloured hair making this sarcastic hehe sound like a laugh. So that was already step one of her stupid useless woman act. "I am not good at being at the right time and the right place, I am more the other way around." If she was in her office in the government, no one was panicking about her anyway and people could do their job or something like that. She had only never heard of the sidekick Scoria, but then again she wasn't allowed into that system often, she had managed to pick Witch Doctor out of it but that was the only one.
She looked up surprised when he spoke about a baseball bat and looked it and tried to not laugh, she quickly put her hand in front of her mouth. "As long as you have a good swing I think I am fine." She said a little sassy, okay back to step one to look like the useless woman, this wasn't helping, she should do better. She would look at the man named Scoria a little longer, it was just strange to not know real names but she nodded as he made the gesture to move on. "A-armored?" Really she wasn't even sure if they had ever taken her so serious when she was in Barbados and a pro-hero there. "I have to be honest no idea where to go, would it be stupid to go home? I don't know how the road is between Musutafu and Tokyo?" Would it be a waste of his time, cuz then she wondered if she should not ask him to just escort her to the car and just let her be? She wasn't sure, bleh her vehicle would remain here, that meant she needed to take the train another time, ugh. Oh well, for now she would just let this happen and followed to the parking garage.
