The U.A. Culture Festival! [ A fun festival mini-event for people to enjoy! ]
So, as most of you know, Japanese high schools generally have whats called a Culture Festival around October/November, which is usually a bunch of school-run stalls, events and decorations that invite the public to come in and see whats going on around the school. Usually it's used for fundraising for clubs and for the school in general but for the most part it's a community event.
These stalls are almost entirely student or faculty-run but are very much open to the public.
Yumi and I are looking to make this Culture Festival as a more social, calm event for people to have some fun with, and to also give the impression that not every event needs to be a big fight and world changing battle, we can give our members rewards for their own social fun!~ We want to make sure those who don't necessarily want have some mad fisticuffs can still earn some EP and enjoy being a part of the wider community!
The threads we have planned are-
Event A - Game threads. Players will go through multiple carnival games with weighted rolls! Most of the time these rolls are stacked in favour of the school so you either gotta be really lucky, really skilled, or really sneaky with your Quirk use!
Event B - Taste tester! Members can apply to run their own stalls or just be there to taste the food, either way, each round an ST will invent some new, fun, silly, or exotic carnival food for the players to try. Members who cook can also offer to host these threads.
Event C - Social gatherings! If at least 4 members organize their own thread and reach 7 rounds, they will be eligible for EP, or perhaps a lesser reward of 100 exp(?). This is to hopefully encourage people to join who don't feel comfortable in either theme. Keep in mind these threads should still be sticking to the general theme, such as buying toffee apples together, watching one of the shows or just exploring the various stalls.
Event D - Self submitted events! Of course, a Culture Festival would be nothing without class or club participation! Often classes or clubs will group together and organize their own little stalls or events in their classroom, like maid cafe's, pop-up restaurants, art galleries or even hiring out the gym for a performance of some kind (theatrical or musical)! Using the template below any member can submit to hose their own event thread. They (and potentially one-two other members) can choose to host their own stall / classroom event. Once submitted, it will be added to the event sign up list. If a minimum of two non-host members sign up for one of these threads, it will be made official, and be awarded EP upon hitting 7 rounds.
Due to this, there will be a 3 day period where people can submit their own class stalls before anyone is allowed to apply for any event thread. Any hosts or sign-up members who did not meet the minimum requirements will have help finding other threads they're comfortable with.
Title: What is the title of your thread! Class/Hosts: What class (or cross class students) are hosting this stall / classroom event? A class can hold multiple events with separate hosts, so don't worry about 'deciding your entire classes theme on your own'. Event description: Please put here a description of the event your hosting. A maid cafe? A pro wrestling show? High end dining experience? Whatever you can come up with. Bare in mind these events should include both those hosting the event, and those experiencing it (audience / diners etc) Participation limit: As you are applying to host an event, what is your hosting limit? This will include yourselves (If your limit is 4, that is yourself, another host, and 2 other members)
We will also make several, 1-2 post only open threads, such as receiving a random fortune, a goofy pageant contest, and of course, once some time has passed, an open thread of a small firework display at one of the training areas to allow people to round off the events of their night!
There could also be a little hidden competition at the end for some silly fun! Like a 'Best Dressed' prize, or a 'Best Food' prize!
The only consequence I can forsee is perhaps eating too much food, especially candy. Might give you a tummy ache. Eat healthy!
Event Runners - Myself (Rebecca) - Yumi - Any STs who want to goof around and have a laugh
In general, we think this mini-event would be a fun little thing for members to enjoy, so we wanted to submit it for staff and ST approval. We will need STs but for the most part it should be pretty light work, depends on how into it the STs want to get! It should be fun for them too, after all! Yumi says if needed she can also take care of the ST work!
A sign-up thread will be created after the 3-day submission period, as it will need to be adjusted based on those submissions!
