UPDATING FROM . . . . KOZUE ITO QUIRK INFORMATION Quirk Shut Down Type: Mutation Rank: E Description: Born with a metallic body with a curious effect not only on his flesh and bone, but vocal chords as well. Though Kozue's body isn't by any means the same sturdiness as a strong metal at this time, it's certainly more durable to physical damage from initial impact, but the strength behind said impact will ultimately determine the level of damage he takes before showing signs of injury such as bruising or drawing blood outside of internal damage. Tapping an object with some sort of metal within it against his flesh will allow him to turn off near by objects with some sort of on off function that are presently running/on. Now, if he taps his skin with a metallic object before making physical contact with someone and speaking to them, it will cause a feeling of disorientation in which the afflicted will have difficulty with their accuracy for three turns. ( PLEASE NOTE!!! for anything regarding disorientation, I'll be running it by my fellow RPers to see whether or not they'll be comfortable with it as well as the extent of influence as well to make sure we're all on the same page.) Benefits - Durability
- Disorientation
- "Hacking" (Focuses purely on turning objects with a power on/off function off)
Exhaustion and Weakness: Disorientation won't happen if he doesn't jump through the hoops of tapping his skin and verbally speaking before making physical contact. There is also the fact that he needs to have this intention of disorienting an individual in mind while speaking for his vocal chords to have that disorienting effect, otherwise it doesn't work out like that. Though his body is more durable than the average human, he can still feel pain and be hindered by it. Kozue needs to wait three turns to disorient an individual again after being successful, if he tries for an encore before that, he'll struggle to speak coherently due to excessive coughing and start hacking up a strange black goo, possibly even vomit up the strange goo. Not being able to hear Kozue will make it impossible to disorient an individual to a heavy extent, it'll be a minor nuisance in that case. It's also important to note that he is limited to effecting those he can make physical contact with as well, so even though he can cause this ailment on multiple people at a time, presently, it's strictly reliant on him making physical contact with his body rather than poking someone with a stick/pole or chucking stuff he touched at someone. When it comes to physical strength, he falls short in terms of being about average despite his durability being pretty high. Presently, he can't turn devices on, only off and even then, they require a switch, button, ignition, dial, something that powers the object on and off of some kind for that fragment of his quirk to effect it. Even though he's not terrible with stealth, he has to make some sort of noise to cause disorientation to an individual or even turn objects off. Consuming too much salt causes him to slow down and being sprayed with salt water is the absolute worst for him. Even though he doesn't necessarily rust in a traditional sense, it causes inflammation for about two turns at the very least. Bodies of waters, such as pools and hot tubs, give him a bit of anxiety due to how easily he can drown. In fact, shoving him in deep water that he can't find a way to climb out of will cause Kozue to drown because his body lacks the proper buoyancy to float or swim. Another unfortunate drawback of his metallic body is that when there are physical injuries and wounds, such as a cut or broken bones, require a different approach to aid in the healing process. If he doesn't treat it with heat frequently, it'll take quite some time to heal and it does hurt a lot to mend his wounds. When using Hitting High Notes with an instrument made of wood, it'll break apart right after and turn into a one use object for him. COMBAT ABILITIES Range Rank: F Effect: For up to and within 7 meters (a little over 22 feet), Shut Off will have disorient in effect (as long as prior criteria was met) and objects with some sort of on/off switch/button.
Hitting High Notes Rank: F Effect: Within range, he can let out a loud pitched screech that'll break apart wood. He can also utilize an instrument that hits higher notes of the woodwind and brasswind family, such as a flute, to hit those wild high notes

If he doesn't treat it with heat frequently, it'll take quite some time to heal and it does hurt a lot to mend his wounds.
(PLEASE NOTE!!! for anything regarding disorientation, I'll be running it by my fellow RPers to see whether or not they'll be comfortable with it as well as the extent of influence as well to make sure we're all on the same page.)
Benefits
[ol type="decimal"][li]Durability [/li][li]Disorientation[/li][li]"Hacking" (Focuses purely on turning objects with a power on/off function off)[/li][/ol] Exhaustion and Weakness: Disorientation won't happen if he doesn't jump through the hoops of tapping his skin and verbally speaking before making physical contact.
STEP TWO, THE FC UPDATE AND DESCRIPTION AMENDMENT! FIRST THE ORIGINALKOZUE ITO BASIC INFORMATION Hero/Vigilante/Villain alias: Blackout Player Name: ♥ Captain UwU ♠ Faceclaim/Series: Scaramouche from Samurai Jack Age: 30 Gender: Masculine Affiliation: Villain Height: 1.9812 Meters (6'6") Weight: 158.76 Kilos (350lbs) Hair/Style: n/a Skin/Scars: Metallic flesh with no notable scars Eyes: Light blue Notables: Kozue's eyes are more like lights and though they function as organic eyes would, they emote a little differently. Another strange thing to note about him is he lacks fingerprints, yet he still likes wearing gloves all the same. Even though he can get a bit salty, he doesn't really like salt much.
APPEARANCE AND PERSONALITY Appearance: When drifting about among his peers, he doesn't bother covering up his peculiar appearance and seems almost proud of how he looks in the way Kozue doesn't make it a point to cover his face. Without the ability to grow hair like a normal person, it doesn't bother him at all since that gives him an excuse to have a wig collection of various colors when the metal man feels like having a head of hair in some form or another to go with an outfit. Kozue's fashion sense tends to fall under wearing hats, coats, vests, pants and suits finished off with heeled boots of some sort. Some may say that he tends to look almost like a classic mobster among the crowd of normal citizens, as though the guy's ready for a business meeting or fancy dinner. Beneath the coat, he prefers to go with a button up, long sleeve shirt of some kind that's loose enough to roll those sleeves up on warmer days. Sometimes, he'll throw a scarf in the mix and leans toward a preference of ties.
While he's out doing those odd jobs in the crime department, however, he wears an outfit that some may grow to call a tad bit extra. On top of taking the time to conceal his face with bandages beneath, he'll wear not only a balaclava, but finish that off with a pair of mirrored goggles to make it a little more challenging to figure out the identity of the man who goes by the name of Blackout. Upon the top of his head will be a black, conical hat and around his neck is an orange scarf. Adorning most of his form is a deep purple coat, accented by hints of lavender and an interior lined with a dark pink rose tinted fabric which is finished off by a thick belt fastened around his waist. The outfit beneath may vary to something more akin to his casual attire where the sleeves are rolled up beneath his coat, but his brick red heeled boots accented by orange are part of the staple to his look.
On his person, he'll generally have a dagger or knife concealed and is quite partial to carrying around a flute of some kind.
POSITIVE ✔ Friendly ✔ Enthusiastic ✔ Creative NEGATIVE ✖ Aloof ✖ Vindictive ✖ Questionable Mental Stability LIKES ✔ Money ✔ Gambling ✔ Relaxing DISLIKES ✖ Difficult jobs ✖ Beaches and pools ✖ Folks who take things way too seriously
Personality: Kozue Ito is a rather interesting fellow since he can find himself in a lighthearted mood where he's just enjoying life in the here and now, not bothering to bog himself down with formalities. Though this fellow can have a sense of humor and doesn't always come off as the most serious individual out there, he's certainly got a darker aspect to him beneath all the smiles and laughter. An urge to cause harm when someone crosses him or gets in the way isn't necessarily easy to brush off, that is when his bitterness finds a twisted sense of joy in figuring out how the game of revenge shall play out. Sure, he can be nice and quite polite, but he isn't above passive aggressive tendencies or even underhanded threats. Ah, but some of the words that sprawl out of this man's mouth tend to be rather questionable...
Is it a joke or was he serious?
That's a question some may ask themselves when they speak with him since his upbeat attitude tends to leave his intentions swimming about in murky waters. Speaking of murky waters, Kozue has a believes there's a special place in hell for scumbags who push folks into pools and laugh about how it's just a prank, even when the one they pushed is drowning. This isn't to say he views himself as a good person, oh no no no, he absolutely understands that his actions as Blackout are questionable in the eyes of those with a proper moral compass. Personally, he likes money enough to pave his way in life that if someone is willing to pay him the right amount, he doesn't mind getting his hands dirty. It's all about having the right offer, otherwise it won't be worth his time.
Certainly money is the love of his life, but Kozue's open to various trades with a sense of value to him and his time. As long as something piques his interest, he'll at the very least give others the time of day in weighing things out for whether or not a job is worth it. One of the other important aspects to consider is will this be entertaining enough to make it fun for him? Baiting reactions out of others is something he'll get a kick out of more often than not, but it's mostly playful rather than completely vindictive, especially with those he's on good terms with. Quite frankly, the guy's a social butterfly and enjoys being around folks more often than not, even more when they're enjoyable sorts!
Especially in more casual settings, when it comes to his alter-ego, it's rare that he'll find himself working with someone else or even a group. Which gets a little boring at times, so he just gets a little creative with his approaches to keep from getting bored. When dealing with those who get too serious for his liking, he'll try breaking the ice and lighten the mood...as long as he's not mad. Kozue has a knack for pushing the envelope until he feels like things may escalate in a way that'll end poorly for him. When he feels more threatened, he tends to either ease up or egg someone on playfully...really depends on his mood at the time.
When it comes to his moral ground on not harming the elderly, women or children, there's a solid chance that it won't really effect how he plans on handling someone. See, this guy won't discriminate and a target's a target...more so if they have a quirk. That's right, he isn't going to go easy on a student from U.A or even an elderly pro hero if they get in his way. Not to mention he doesn't look down upon women, he knows they're capable of being strong and not as weak, delicate flowers. He's not above trying to give someone the opportunity to leave him to his job and go away, but he has a limited time frame of patience and when he says a warning is his last, he means it.
Yes, he may be a bit on the friendlier side outside of that darker side of his life, but it won't stop him from attaining his goals. When it comes to loyalty, quite frankly, that's a serious case by case scenario. If he manages to develop a strong, positive bond or connection with someone, he can be considered reliable. Friends are a rarity in his life and he'll do what he can to be there for them to some capacity or another, possibly even protect them or keep them safe when it's within his power to do so. Losing his mother and father had an array of effects on him, one of which was to cherish the strong, worthwhile bonds that come into his life when someone is proven to deserve it.
Betrayal is a topic he doesn't handle very well with a low tolerance to such tomfoolery, that's what we like to call some bitterly thin ice which one is not recommended to tread upon. The more upset Kozue is, the more dangerous he becomes since he's out for that sweet, sweet revenge.
HISTORY Kozue Ito didn't have what one would call some sort of tragic or sad background. Quite the opposite, really! He actually had a loving and supportive family who didn't laugh or mock his aspirations toward doing something a little more artistic one day. Once upon a time, he wanted to become a famous artist or fashion designer, but he didn't luck out too well and managed to fail art with flying colors somehow. At least he had fun while taking drama and being a flutist during those short lived band days! His quirk flourishing further made things a little confusing, more so since he was born into this world looking more normal at first. With how people were viewing quirks around the time he was born, his parents felt as though it was better to protect him before it was too late.
Besides, to them, it was also quite the blessing...his delightful parents saw that he could be rather useful in their lucrative family business and pulled him out of school to educate him at home.
On the surface, it was just an innocent little business where dear ol' mom and dad took on contracting in which they would make and manage filing systems for an array of companies. They had honest clients, but they also had shady individuals who should most likely be put behind bars with ties to the black market. This didn't bother Kozue since his parents were always wonderful people in his book! The fact that they could trust him to help meant a great deal, especially since they've been there for him when he needed their support and kept him safe when he showed noticeable signs of having a quirk. So now, it was his turn to repay them for all they've done over the years! When they asked for his help to get in the good graces of a shadier client, he'd be right there at their side to make things a little easier on them since unlike him, they didn't have quirks themselves in the slightest.
After all, it meant more money and quirks were a somewhat rare sight to behold at the time.
Things went south one day and it just so happened to be some lunatic claiming to be a hero. He struggled to do much at the time, but his parents didn't make it out alive when they got caught up in that mess. Was it all his fault? Or maybe his parents brought it upon themselves? Kozue didn't think so, it was the fault of this idiot claiming to be some sort of hero! Hell, they couldn't even be arsed to spare his parents. So he had to escape so he could live another day to execute his revenge for their recklessness. From what he remembered of comics, cartoons and movies, real heroes didn't usually take a blood ridden path...
Well, it was a good thing he didn't see himself as a hero, because he didn't dismiss the option called murder to solve his problems when he deemed it fit. At least he didn't bother lying to himself, pretending to be someone or something he wasn't. To protect himself, he closed down the family business and kept a few business contacts handy prior to moving away in an effort to give him another start. The move, of course, didn't happen until he tied the loose ends of that false hero. It was only then could he find himself pushing forward to a new future in every moment, one of which he hoped would be brighter than past he'd leave behind.
Nothing would be the same without the lights of his life, that was certain...but he knew they would want him to keep moving on as much as possible, make things better for himself when it's within his power to do so...
Now, he's paving his life and moving forward to make his future a better place for himself and finding a delightful distraction with what happiness money will buy.

Though his body has shifted and changed to actually give him a head of medium length hair that can be dyed, he still has his collection of wigs he can rock with different outfits.
However, sometimes he'll change it up, especially since he's made a name for himself as a fashion designer and likes to test out his various experimental fabrics.
On his person, he'll generally have a dagger or knife concealed and is quite partial to carrying around a flute of some kind.

[/div] [div style="color:#FFFBF9;font-family:Verdana;font-size:14px;margin:-5px;margin-right:18px!important;letter-spacing:3px;font-weight:900px;text-shadow:-1px -1px 0 #121212,1px -1px 0 #121212,-1px 1px 0 #121212,1px 1px 0 #121212;" align="right"]HISTORY[/div] [div style="width:460px!important;background-color:#fefefe;border:solid 2px #121212;padding:10px;text-align:justify;margin:0px auto;font-size:12px;font-family:Futura,Trebuchet MS,Arial,sans-serif;"] Kozue Ito didn't have what one would call some sort of tragic or sad background. Quite the opposite, really! He actually had a loving and supportive family who didn't laugh or mock his aspirations toward doing something a little more artistic one day.
