Okay so she got her boxing training done for today but that did not mean that the third year was done. She had gone outside to practice her quirk. The special paper for permission from her homeroom teacher was in her bag that was on the side of her training area as well as her sweater, a little towel and a bottle of water. Rowan had decided what her future would hold and that she was going to try and tackle it as best as she could, that meant that she would study hard on being able to take over the hotels from her father and to work very well on the other stuff that she promised to fix well; hero work. She was being an apprentice of course, and with Igarashi-sensei and Murakami-sensei it seemed to be going fine as well. It just did not feel like enough. She was getting a taste of the outside world but she wasn't there yet. Last year was all about letting go and working on establishing herself, becoming better, doing better and most of all stop to fear her quirk.
That was going fine now, the limits of the fire were still things that she tried to learn, if only she could make it not hurt others directly, that would be great but Rowan did not have that power and thus she had to learn how to deal with the explosions in any ways that she could. Her molecules had gone and worked better for her, although her hands become hot, she was sure that her endless training in boxing became better. She heaved up her hand now though, boxing helped her to stop trembling in her arms when she carried the six tennis balls on just her wrist and well a little bit on her forearm. This new part of her hero outfit was quite amazing, she liked it a lot but that did mean that she would have to practice and make her aim better. Shooting at the targets that were actually for archery made her miss the centre, her goal but hit enough of the surrounding and making the loud sounds of explosions that it was hard to miss that she was training. She took a deep breath and just closed her eyes, it was okay. She would just have to learn this and give it time, she should stop being so hard for herself. She felt like she learned so much already, and she should reward herself with that. Maybe buy ice cream later... or something alike.
Rowan was so focused that she had no attention for anyone else on the grass training area, it was easy to go and stand next to her and give her a jump scare by talking. This was normal for Rowan though, focus was her everything.

With a slight furrowed brow Archibald found his way to the training area. His black hair frozen more then normal. He did not often practice his quirk for fighting. He felt it was dangerous and beyond reckless to do that with someone else around however. He was getting confident in his control, but he was still rather hesitant to call it 'fully under control'. He started to jog in place as he entered, getting his blood pumping and the thin veil of water that emitted itself from him froze into a mist that would be a severe cold. With a small twitch from his fingers the mist collected onto his skin. For the first time in a long time without gloves. He stepped onto the field with long strides as he felt the frozen mist cling to his skin. His normal skin of 10 degrees cooling down to a lower temperature as he stretched his fingers. While it wasn't needed to use his quirk, he felt it was easier to control and focus on his quirk with the use of his fingers to move the ice. He looked at the field and realized another person had found their way to the training area. He walked up to her, forgetting for a second that he was very cold, he placed a calm hand on the girls shoulder.
"I am sorry, I would like to use the training area as well. Will that be ok?"
He smiled as he took a step back and thin strands of water emitted from the man, barely visible they posed no real thread. He took another small step to the side as he smiled, kindly and warm to the girl. He didn't try to scare her but realized that the silent approach may have done so.
"I am Archibald, I'm so sorry if a scared you. Class 1A, I am known as Therma-Frost. It is a pleasure to meet you."
He used a rather formal manner of speaking, realizing the girl was likely older then him and wished not to be rude. He felt he might have seen her around school, but he could be wrong about that. It only took a moment before he realized he should bow and did so with a slight stiff posture.

Rowan kept moving, well she was standing still on her spot but trying to use her new hero outfit to use the pitchers on her arms to collect the small green tennis ball and shoot it. Touch her finger shortly, which was still a difficult thing to do in such a few seconds before making it explode at the target. Sometimes, as she has not enough patience, she grunted, she wanted to pull the bouncing ball, that she had in a pocket on her hip, out and throw at the target to make it crumble and; okay calm down there, cowboy. But that only meant that her focus was on her, her hand movement and the dummy on the other side of the field to test her range. It was because of that, that Rowan had no idea of someone approaching her, touching her warm skin (that came because of her quirk) with something that was fantastically cold~
"Wow!" She jumped forward and turned around with an arrogant, offended look on her face. The heck! But it was not someone hitting her with a snowball or something alike it was a person, a person smiling at her and just what did he say? She had not paid attention. Her mean face immediately dropped and she looked just a little bewildered. She tried to, therefore, calm down a little as he introduced herself and shivered, her skin turning her shoulder a little warmer, forgetting the cold. "I am sorry," Obviously he scared her, but well it was a lesson to learn, to be aware of her surroundings. But well, she should keep this conversation going, "Nice to meet you. I am Rowan, I am in class 3-a eh 3-B." Having been in class A for two years made it that she said it wrong every time someone asked her now, and it was also stupid. But well now this happened. "So you wanted to train with the dummies too?" She thumbed up the things behind her that she used, she should not take everything for herself but he suddenly bowed to her and she blushed. Stupid. She looked shortly away, pouting, she wasn't used to this whole thing... senpai thing maybe. Kumoko luckily never had bowed to her, Isaac had called her senpai to tease her and that was about it. "I am sorry I took the whole field, got too focused." It was a start and she turned to look at Archibald again.

Noticing he had scared the girl, Archibald took a second to take another step back. He knew he likely went overboard with his polite mannerisms, but he much preferred being overly polite compared to being rude. He looked at her with a set of eyes that were both intrigued and trying to measure up how he should behave. He found it still to be rather difficult to find the balance between his direct communication from his upbringing, and the polite culture of the country. He did realize he went too far and with a flair of hesitation he saw the girl explain herself. For a second he let his mind flair up to the thought that perhaps he had been rude in his approach. Making his presence known more would have been easy with his quirk. He shook his head slightly as he opened his eyes, realizing he had closed them for a second. He composed himself as he let a warm smile flow across his face, well meant as he answered her;"The pleasure is all mine. I am sorry to have scared you. I would be happy to share the range with you, so don't feel bad about it please. You seemed to be warm, is that part of your quirk? If its a demerit I could try cooling the air some more to make it more manageable if that helps?"He did not know if hes quirk could help her in that manner, or even if he was able to do that in the first place while practicing. He did however twitch his fingers and feel the frost on his uniform freeze up into a thicker layer. He wore his gym suit, having not received his hero suit yet. Instead he fashioned a look that he felt would fit with the power. A long icy layer of thin interlocking frozen hoops formed a cloak that he could release his focus off and remain frozen. It allowed him to have a defense in case of emergency, and it was one of the few finess things he was exceptionally proud of. "I would love to see your training as well Sen... eh Rowan... that is ok if I call you that right?"With a slight smile he turned his head to her as he spoke and later turned it to the dummy. He would often make his attacks shorter range, this way he would feel safer with his attacks. But with the apparent explosive nature of the person he shared his court with, he wanted to try something new. He opened his right hand, aiming its palm to the dummy as he conjured a shard of ice the size of a small bullet. Its shot straight, but the inpact from it minimal. Looking rather disappointed he stared at his hands. It was a first he had felt that his powers did not match up with his perception on how they would work when doing something. "I am sorry... how do you eh... do you think you could show me how you make those balls explode?"

Seriously, what a hero she was? Being so damn scared about just a pat on her back? It only proved she had to open her ears and eyes. She had done that rather well if she said so herself during the whole prison break and now this kid, made her jump almost through the roof while she was at U.A.? Okay maybe she could explain it to herself a little with the ice cold tingling feeling that was now in her shoulder but still; hello awareness, sup buddy. The snob thought to herself and mostly negative of herself, she needed to focus and see if it would go well. She watched him curiously, quite straight forward person, she got used to not only Japanese students here since day one... Let's not think too much about day one anymore and she herself was half Japanese, half British, though raised here in Tokyo. She managed to compose herself, introduce herself and her class, albeit wrong at first before simply continuing to step aside to see if Archibald wanted to train with the dummies as well. "Oh, yea it is. I explode things, that makes my skin warm. It isn't painful for me though, it just happens and I try to learn how to get a little further on without immediately feeling like a walking flame." She said a little silly to not show how such a boring person she could be. "If it's too warm for you, you can try? I don't mind, I am not entirely a fan of the cold, as you might have noticed but that is because of my quirk." but every year again she survived the winter so she would survive a little like his quirk as well, and if that made it easier for him to stand by her side she did not mind.
For a second she was surprised she was immediately called by her first name but again that was something she learned over the years too and she nodded, "Sure." It did not do well to dwell on strange things anyway, this made it easier to communicate and she had not said her surname anyway. She would throw another of the tennis balls and smirk at the idea that the accuracy of her arm and the canon like structure Charlie made for her was a perfect combination. She looked up again from her little victory when Archibald asked if she could show him. "Ehm, well it's not something I really can show but I can explain how it works and then show you because it's not visible." But she held up a tennis ball, "My quirk quickly moves the molecules in an item and that creates friction in a matter of seconds which makes the molecules explode. I can do this with touch, so in this case I just use easy tennis balls or something like ammunition and one of the support classes made the little holders on my hero outfit." And after that she pumped out one of those tennis balls from the holster, with her free hand and touched it just barely and let it explode right before the dummy. Exactly as planned. She threw up the tennis ball she had in her hand, "And that's all the science I know."

With an impressed look on his face the boy witnessed the girl. She seemed to be a friendly person so far, if perhaps a bit too focused. A problem he would love to have. He did realize she was proud of the explanation and her quirk. Something that made him interested to see if he could do something similar. "I see... so a combustible state of matter leaves an explosion as the only option... I wonder if I could do something similar with pressure... eh like... this?"As he spoke he formed a very tiny ball in his hand. The ball then, with a bit of focus straining his face, grew spikes, followed by a shell. Soon after the ball was 3 times its size now that it housed the core and the needles, and the shell opened up holes with the pin's of the needles sticking out. He threw it in his hand a few times and let the focus go off the whole. Instead focusing on the core as he tossed it at a dummy. The core visible in his mine he expanded the ball to fill up the space within its shell and violently push the needles out. A soft creaking was heard as the needles, way more fierceful then desired, exited the ball. Sticking most of them into the ground and the dummy. Leaving a few to be flung in the direction of the two students. Luckily the majority of speed and danger was avoided as it had not gathered enough speed to pierce any skin, but it showed the boy he still needed practice. "Eh... yea lets not do that one again... But your quirk did bring me some awesome idea... OH NO, are you ok? I am so sorry, I hope you didn't get hurt?"As he spoke he realized he had not looked at the girl yet, to see if she was ok. He looked at her with a worried expression as he felt guilty for trying to show off while still not in control.

Rowan had given a demonstration of her quirk and for a second her eyes were glued on Archibald's hand as he made the ice take shape. That's what Lady did. Stop. Thinking. Stupid. Things. She told herself. The woman was gone, somewhere off with the little shit like Nick and she wouldn't be back, Rowan beat her ass and this was a first year student and above all.. it was a guy. But the idea just made her afraid, she finally managed to shrug it off and watched Archibald throw his handiwork at the dummy. Managing a quick small explosion from her own marble, which was in the pouch on her left hip, to explode or more like melt the needles that were coming their way. "Sort of." She said with a little tease. At least she learned she had a quick reaction.
She looked up at him and shook her head, "Don't worry. I once stood in a blizzard as I thought it would cool down my burning hands." She gave a goofy expression by sticking out her tongue. Okay, Rowan, relax. "I do think it's a good intention and as a third year, I can tell you I practised a lot before I was able to know exactly how my explosions worked or how not to turn everything in a detonator. It was quite the work." And that should encourage him, not the opposite effect, alright, she could do that. She should do better and she would look at him. "Why not try it again or show me the other idea you have. Maybe as now a pro explosion maker, I can help." Besides that was probably more fun than always doing things on her own. How did she want to find other people to join her little project if she did not speak to people apart from Miku? Hm.

With a small chuckle the young man looked at the girl. She seemed to be unharmed and with her manner of acting, he felt she was a good person to hang around with. He nodded to her proposal of trying it again. He looked at her and mumbled something under his breath. Thinking that the fact it could only work so poorly as a result of malfunctioning, was because the idea didn't work as well as he hoped. He then looked at the dummy, needles sticking out of it. While shallow it would have to be a sign it was a dangerous weapon and quite potent. He grinned as he said; "A fun side effect of my quirk is that I can control it right... so what if I simply try this..."As he spoke he made a collection of three more balls, adding them all to his hands as he altered his direction. He turned so he could aim at the furthest away dummy. He threw the first ball and as he did he forced it to expand, seeing the image in his mind so vividly he realized the needles spewed out fiercely and omnidirectional for the first time. The needles flung his way however were all caught in midair with his mind focusing on his vision of them turning to water. The ones going in his direction and the girl's were still enough to spray a good few droplets on them. Still not certain of how much he liked it he looked at the girl."So far... I mean better... it doesn't help it takes so much focus... if you want to throw one, feel free too."With a smile he offered one of the balls. If she took it he would try to do the same thing again before thinking out loud; "I wonder if I can imagine a wall around me that isn't penetrable by that ice... if that is enough to have it stop from piercing me..."

Rowan knew as much about control or learning about your quirk as any other. She couldn't believe that two years ago she arrived here in her first year and would now finish this third one to graduate and become a hero. So much has changed, coming here simply because she did want to learn to control her firepower. Simply to learn so much about it that she would not hurt anyone else. She did not feel that way anymore, it would be to a point later but at this point, she would just wait, she would just see how the future would go and she would take as much in from the apprenticeship. "Even if you can control it now, you need to learn bigger and better control, bigger and better power. That's what the power of a pro-hero eventually will be." If you looked at Redhorn or Hellhound, Witch Doctor. It were people that would inspire them all and she would get to that point.
She watched him closely though, if they were going to work together in the quirk albeit very opposite elements, she should see what she could do. She would just cross her arms and watched Archibald and the snowballs that expended and hit the dummy in the back. She held up her hand again to make it hot in their area when the needles turned to water and fell to the ground. She threw the one bouncing ball she had in her own hand. "Maybe you don't need needles, maybe you need just the flurry or the snow to expend and make it cold. That would already work enough for the normal human system to freeze and just hesitate in a next move. Eh not freeze shiver I mean." Not immediately meaning the extreme version but just something else.
and she would take his snowball and look at it, tossed it up and she threw it, it exploded into the snow and she couldn't help but laugh. "I mean defence like that sounds good? Want to try?"

The snow that collected itself upon his body, began to solidify more, creating a thin armor around his body that allowed him to move around freely. As he made it he had to let go of the control of it and feel the weight upon his joints. As he looked at the ball he threw and heard the reply from Rowan, he realized she was right. Offence was easy, but not if there is a factor like holding back."Hmm... I mean that is a lot easier. I can make walls and the likes relatively easily. It is just harder with the multiple different 'orders' at the same time... but a blizzard bomb is not that hard... maybe this is better."Ashe said that he pointed at the shards of ice that laid on the ground. As he did they seemed to split into multiple new shards and within seconds a thick layer of thin shards laid on the ground, and as he smiled at the girl, his eyes not on the shards, they dissipated into snow and started to push themselves upwards, cooling the air between them as a blizzard was created on the spot. Using one another's movement and thin connections between them when needed for lift, to create so much cool air the two would get a wave of air thrown their way that matched a few degrees above zero. "Oh that is always so refreshing... I can't wait for winter... ah ehm... yea this would stop people if they are inside it no? I can solidify them too... but then it eh... yea becomes dangerous." He smiled as thought about how happy he was that he had someone to train with as well as having her so pro-active with it. His hair now fully covered with cold ice and his armor covering with small icicles.

Rowan listened to what the first-year boy had to say and thought about it for a second. She wasn't sure if she had to say anything, if she could actually give advice or if that was even something Archibald wanted to hear. "So do you plan on focusing on that? Rescue? Defence for civilians so to say?" What were their plans, first-years that is, because when she was a first-year, she had absolutely no idea, that only came later. She would suggest the idea of what her quirk could do but then with the snow that he seems to control. She shivered without realizing, it did make the atmosphere colder than she liked but she wasn't going to push someone out of her area of comfort just for that.
She looked at him when she shivered again as the winter hit her, "Some agree with you, I personally like summer enough." She said casually because she did not want to be that snob anymore and telling him that he was wrong. It were just opinions, Rowan, people were entitled to them. "It worth to test, the idea of a hero is delaying someone long enough for the task force to be there to arrest them, sometimes that means taking harsh measures." But she herself was definitely not a fan of that, she had no choice with her quirk but in the past she now has used it as a distraction, a warning feature so to say and to break rubble down to block off roads for villains, it was something and it was nothing at the same time. But she smiled at Archibald because he did not seem to mind it now and that was just, nice, maybe even calming in its own way.
"Funny how such opposite quirks as ours still can have the same features." She said with a smile and she wrapped her arms around herself, instantly warming up. "So anything else you want to try, I kinda already did what I came for and I got quite the control over my quirk the past few years, you seem to do quite well with yours already, saves you extra control training." She tried as a jester, but Rowan wasn't really good at joking.
