APPEARANCE AND PERSONALITY
Appearance:
Scrawny and unassuming are two words often used to describe Akira. His pale white skin would be beautiful if it weren't for the frequency of which he found himself with bags under his eyes for his poor sleeping habits. Even on first glance it's not hard to tell he doesn't much care for his own appearance. Not that he dislikes how he looks per se, he just couldn't be bothered putting any effort into it. He allows his long hair to just hang down, very rarely if ever tying it up, though he always makes sure to brush it at least. Apart from that, his eyes almost pupil-less empty looking eyes constantly give off a tired energy and his the blank expression he wears doesn't help matters.
He dresses rather casually. Usually what you might expect someone who ran frequently might wear, though he isn't one for physical activity. Despite being quite cold and insular it isn't uncommon for Akira to end up wearing bright colours, since he doesn't take much notice of what he puts on every morning. He is fond of expensive running shoes for some reason, he justifies it as needing them for his quirk but really it's just one of the few things hes fond of.

Personality:
Akira is well and truly a loner, a fact he is more than happy to accept. He simply doesn't understand people. To him, it's incredibly stressful trying to determine what someone might truly be thinking or feeling, which is why he chooses not to think about it all that much. Similarly, he doesn't like making decisions for the same reason, he panics if he thinks he might be making the wrong choice. Because of this he's developed a rather troubling habit of believing people if they sound convincing enough since it's much easier than trying to figure it out himself. It makes him easy prey for sales people but not so easy to make friends with. He also doesn't quite understand himself and doesn't really know what he wants out of life nowadays. For now he is simply existing as best he can.
He also frequently forgets things, like what he might have to do on a certain day and rarely if ever can remember a persons name. He tends not to go out during the day much since he has trouble sleeping, causing him to be quite narcoleptic. He's a nocturnal kind of guy... Plus it means he doesn't have to interact with people as much as he does when its bright outside.
It was only recently that Akira found out he can put his talents and his quirk to use making his life easier. At one point he might have cared about stealing or breaking into people businesses and homes, but now it doesn't really phase him, he doesn't think about it, he doesn't have to think about it and that's all he cares about.

HISTORY
Akira wasn't always like this. In fact, he had a normal childhood, all things considered. He took after his mother, appearance-wise. The same woman who unfortunately passed away during his birth, but his father never held it against him. Never blamed him for it, not even once. Not even in private. The man truly loved his son and wanted nothing but the best for him. He wasn't particularly wealthy but he worked as hard as he could to provide Akira with everything he needed. Unfortunately this meant they rarely got to spend time together with the young male being passed around from babysitter to babysitter but this just meant any and all time they had was cherished.
His father was a software engineer at a company Akira had long forgotten the name and purpose of. What he hadn't forgotten however was the second-hand knowledge he'd picked up from reading the various notebooks and journals his father had kept about his projects and his day to day life working there. He was only 11 years old when he had started following after his fathers footsteps, he had an uncanny aptitude for it, it baffled the man but made him feel proud as punch his little boy was so interested in what he did. It wasn't until Akira had started having chest pains that they would start to understand why.
It turned out he was a rather late bloomer. While both his parents were quirkless Akira had begun manifesting his. X-rays of his chest showed his heart and indeed much of his body wasn't like a normal persons. In the center of his chest lied something more like a battery, connected to all the muscles in his body and his brain. It was extremely unsettling for his father and baffling to the doctors who couldn't understand how his body kept functioning as it did. The people in charge of him leaped at the chance to run tests on him. It seemed the electrical activity in his body flared up when he touched anything containing electricity itself. It could've all been psychological, but Akira felt drawn towards computers and anything automated, he understood how they work at a fundamental level, he could feel what made them tick. It certainly explained his affinity for technology. In any case, his father was just happy he was healthy, even if he didn't understand completely.
The next year passed uneventfully. Well, as uneventfully as finding out your child was a mutant. Though of course his dad hadn't thought of him in that way. With a new promotion in the company came more time to spend with his son and the two of them spent most of their time experimenting with Akiras quirk to see what he could do, the tales of vigilantes being a fun thing for them to latch on to. They never got further than what the already knew but that wasn't really what it was about. It didn't matter.
Those memories would be one of the few things Akira managed to hang on to. When he was around 14 years old, he was pulled out of school
