A big smile spread across Luna's face as Danica asked how someone can even practice a skill like tracking. It was a question with a lot of parts to it by default, but Luna was actually pretty well-versed on the subject as her father took her hunting to hone those skills. But a hero would probably do it better, but it meant she wasn't totally out of the loop on it! "I'm kind of cheating because my senses are well-tuned to track, but just cause you have the senses for it doesn't mean you can do it on a whim. It takes knowing what to look for above all else." she would let out a confident 'hmph' as she crossed her arms in victory. But she had more to say on the subject.
"Anything you do leaves a trace unless you're really careful or have some way to remove that trace. Knowing your terrain, how to maneuver through it, and what to look for are all very important in tracking. I think anyone can get good at it... just some of us have shortcuts." she giggled a bit as she really was cheating in that sense. She had a massive shortcut over people who didn't have these senses.
Once everything was actually settled, and they moved to be seated, Luna took note of Danica scanning around which caused the dog-girl to tilt her head curiously. "You lookin' for somethin'? I can look for it with you if you need assistance!" she would chuckle a bit and rub the back of her head. She couldn't help but offer a hand to assist even when out with a friend like this, but it seemed there was more to talk about anyways.
Danica brought up their spare time, which caused Luna to think deeply, her hand cupping her chin in thought. "Hmmm, well, a lot of my hobbies actually help me towards that. I used to go on small hunting trips with my dad since he thought it was a good way to cultivate my skills, though I haven't actually gotten a chance to go on one since I'd need a pretty long break for that." she paused for a moment to put more thought into what she wanted to say, as she had quite a few downtime activities she liked to do. "I also love going on jogs throughout Musutafu, it keeps me active and helps me meet all sorts of people as I go around the city!" she would let out a soft, excited giggle at the prospect. It wasn't exactly untrue either, though a lot of her recent run-ins with others when out running weren't exactly natural, like when she bumped into the boy on the skateboard.
Other than those two things... she was actually pretty boring. She sat around talking on different chatting applications, playing games if she had the mood to do any, or focused on her studying. She certainly felt like she needed new hobbies, but she wasn't quite sure what she wanted to get into. "What about you? Anything you like to do?" she would smile shooting the question back again so Danica wouldn't be left out of her own topic.
When the gentleman came to ask them for their drink order, Luna looked up to the ceiling in thought before smiling. "I'll just have a jasmine tea if you guys can make that. If not... any type of tea is fine~" she grinned at the man for a moment before flicking her attention out the window next to them. She was still curious as to what exactly Danica was looking for earlier, but she actually didn't have any idea as to what it was. Maybe she just saw a rat or something, that could be cause for concern outside of a business like this.
Trying to take a second to snap out of it, Luna shook her head and looked back to Danica with a grin. "It feels so nice to be here with you. I know it hasn't been too long since we've met, but to be able to sit down and just get a cup of tea with you and chat like this makes me really happy. Nobody has gone out like this with me before so I guess it feels a bit... new. I dunno, that's probably a bit weird." she would giggle softly, rubbing the back of her head. She felt a bit weird saying it all, but it wasn't untrue. She had made a lot of really nice acquaintances but nobody had wanted to hang out with her like this yet. It was a fun change of pace, it showed her that she didn't fail at making friends.

Danica thought about what Luna said, it made sense to her, it still seemed difficult, like the sort of thing that you either could do with ease or it was hopeless. A Thought found its way to the surface as she considered What Luna mentioned after. “does that mean you have to watch what you eat, or how powerful of a scent is around, or else you aren’t able to be ready? Because that seems exhausting.” She would mention before opening the door ~~~~
Once they had ordered and sat down at the table near the corner, Danica quickly scanned the area outside the window for the curious black cat she had ran into the last time she was here, but she was quickly called out on it, of course it would be the last time she was going to actively look, but the feeling of being caught mixed with a sense of shame from her own thoughts made for a deer in the headlights look. As Danica looked back at Luna with her eyes wide, she glanced down to the table, while trying to think of a reasonable excuse or if it was better to come clean. Opting to come clean, due to it being a new friendship and she didn’t want Luna to feel she was keeping secrets from her, “ Oh, no I’m , well um, I think its fine.” she would pull her right hand up and pull her bangs back over her ear before cupping the back of her neck. Knowing well that an ramble like that would need some explanation, “ last time I was here, I seen a cat out in the patio and I was trying to see if it was out there again or if it was a fluke last time” she said with as much honesty she could muster without being too offensive, or ignorant towards Luna. But she chose not to expose her true reason, due to the fact it was rooted in blatant bigotry and she didn’t want Luna to view her in that light.
Swapping topics she would ask what she didn’t in her spare time, it was a simple question but they both understood the Sheer amount of Work, schooling and training that they did to achieve even the slightest bit of progress, and in that schedule it was very difficult to find time to do other activities, it was hard to just enjoy anything knowing you had more things to do all the time.
Luna explained that she used to go on hunting trips with her father, which brought a smile to her face, secretly jealously, swirled just behind her warm smile. The thought of being able to do things like that in her spare time was something that Danica never had a chance to try, most of her life had been Geared towards becoming a pro hero for her families sake. That did not leave a lot of Extra time for fun, or trips. “ do you plan to head home for A hunting trip during the break?” she asked, referring to the break between semesters or the study week, which this school may or may not have, Danica didn’t really look that far ahead in the semester agenda. Danica did well to hide her truly ugly feelings, and at the mention of jogging she would nod “ I do my fair share of jogging here too, I wonder if the residents get sick of teenagers running rampant through their town or if its considered a good thing.
The question was returned on her and she would shrug slightly, as she considered how to word it best, without sounding pathetic or sad. “I spend most of my spare time, studying, training and visiting spots like this, to do either.” She didn’t reveal nearly enough about herself then she intended to so she tried to elaborate now with no mental Script. “ well I guess I just don’t get enough time in one session to do things I might want to, I’m not huge into the online scene, I like to read, but I tend to use that effort to continue learning, beside I don’t want to fall behind, I can find hobbies when I don’t have to do all the schooling and lessons.” She reasoned.
After the man approached and asked if they wanted anything to drink, she looked at Luna for a second having not been prepared to answer a question of that nature quite yet. Letting Luna answer first, Danica had a second to think, and after getting tea last time she decided to get a coffee. “ id like a coffee please, with milk please, no sugar” she would order.
The man Nodded after jotting down a few notes on a note pad “ ill look in the back and check if we have it, and then ill be back in a jiffy” he would turn on his toes and head towards the kitchen with purpose. Disappearing behind a swinging door that blocked most of the view of the kitchen.
Danica would turn her attention from the door as it closed to Luna, who seemed to pop back into reality again after such a disconnect, though Danica was ready for the bomb of a heartfelt stamen that came about abruptly. Danica listened as she tilted her head slightly. She felt honoured to be viewed in such a good way. Dancia always struggled to keep friends, either because she declined a lot of theirinvitations, was too prideful about small issues or she just didn’t fit in well. But Luna seemed happy or at least she said she was. “ im very honored to hear you say that, I worry constantly about being too offensive. I know im not the easiest to get along with at times, but I’m very lucky to have a Friend like you, besides I owed you a tea that didn’t make you cringe” she said as her smile turned into a smirk and she chuckled a bit leaning back against the bench seat and crossing her arms up behind her head. playing it off like it was nothing.

Luna titled her head to the side out of curiosity as Danica started to stumble through a sentence a bit, only to go on to explain herself. It seemed that there was a cat around here last time, causing Danica to look a bit excited. "Aww, really? I hope it's safe if it was a stray or something." Luna commented before glancing back outside the window. It was probably alright, there was no reason for something to have happened to it if this was a recent occurrence that Danica saw it around here. "Well maybe we'll see it next time!" she then grinned as she mused about there being a next time in general, before trying to settle down for what was next.
When she was asked about if she would head home for a hunting trip during the break, Luna looked down for a moment in thought. "I don't know, really. I guess I'll have to see. At the very least I'll go see dad but I don't know about a trip." she would leave it at that, as she didn't really have any more knowledge on what would happen beyond that. Maybe her dad would take her on a trip but she doubted if she actually would have enough free time to go about it.
She also couldn't help but nod about spending a lot of time studying and training. That was pretty much the gist of it for her when she wasn't doing the actual jogging or talking with people. There just wasn't enough time in a day to do everything and keep up with what you needed to strive for it seemed. But that was fine with her, she was happy with where she was at that time and wouldn't trade it for the world.
Luna watched the waiter disappear back into the kitchen after he had taken their order, happy with her order even if they didn't have anything for her. It was really good to just sit here and have a nice time even if she didn't get exactly the drink she was after.
What Danica said next about Luna's little heart-to-heart caused her to giggle softly, a grin on her face afterwards as she just looked across at her friend. "Honestly, it was worth it no matter how much it made me reel." she chuckled a bit as honestly, she valued the connection with another person far more than the idea of having a good cup of tea. That would be silly anyway, losing a friend over a bad cup of tea. Though she still had more to touch on, in regards to Danica. "Offensive, though? I guess I wouldn't really know what you mean, but you seem great to me." she kept on smiling at her friend, trying to do her best to drive a nail through that idea. Maybe it was just a side that Luna didn't have to see yet, given they hadn't done everything together. But at least in the parts they shared, Danica didn't seem all too hard to get along with, nor did she seem all that offensive. That wasn't something that Luna could guarantee though, but she was more than happy to accommodate should there be a couple of bad parts. Nobody was perfect in every situation.
Still, Luna wanted to keep the conversation moving along so that they didn't have to stay on such a tricky subject. Though there was already something she wanted to ask about in particular. "So you said you came here once before. Can you tell me more about that? You said you found a kitty here and all." her tail swished side to side a bit curiously as she talked, Luna tilting her head in thought. This was her first time at this restaurant, of course, so hearing a bit more about Danica's previous experience would probably help her gauge her expectations. Unless something strange and unusual happened, in which case it was probably not a very helpful thing to learn about.

“ I don’t think it was a stray it seemed well taken care of, but hungry. . . Or greedy i guess” she said putting her index finder to the corner of her own mouth and thought about their interaction. At the same time, she does well to hide the wave of shame that over washed her, she had never felt so foolish, so disrespectful to assume something so silly. Of course, Luna was okay with cats, she was a sweet and kind individual. A slowly growing red tone started in Danica’s face. And when Luna mentioned that maybe they would see it next time Danica nodded as she struggled to find the breath through the lump growing in her throat, but she managed to squeak out “ yep maybe~” she felt the air was unblock all at once as she let the tension she was holding go, she didn’t know how yet but she would make it up to Luna for her bias.
The though that there might be a next time made her feel a little better, though still ashamed. She slowly returned to her naturally pale complexion. She managed to ask a question pertaining to the break, though Luna did not know if she was going hunting or if she was just visiting, which made sense it was hard to know what was going on at home, currently Danica had no idea what her parents or grandfather as up to. And then it was Danica’s turn to talk about her hobbies or lack there of. Her life was fairly busy even for someone without a part time job or extra curricular activities, she didn’t know how anyone could keep up with them and keep up with their training, or perhaps it was more that Danica took a lot longer to improve then she wanted. Which was to an extent true, she really felt like she was spinning her wheels and getting nowhere, but if Luna was to do some training with her, she might feel like she was doing better, it was worth a try, she just hoped it would be beneficial for Luna as well.
After a bit, the shame faded, and she felt the warmth of Luna’s compliment surge through her and replace that embarrassment with a warm and fuzzy feeling that swelled within her stomach. She knew what to say when she got compliments, but she did not know how to process them as well as she would let off. But she opted to be as truthful with Luna as she could be, it was a little sad, but she was at this point her best friend, and they had only hung out a little bit.
Luna questioned her offensive nature. But Danica knew it to be true. “ i try to no be overbearing, but training tends to get to me after a bit.” She would admit semi deflecting the statement. When Danica glanced back towards Luna she noticed the smile she had been holding. Danica flashed a smile back that faded quickly, not to a discontent look, but more to one of thought.
Pulling herself out of her own thoughts as Luna asked her about the cat and the last time she was here. “ ah, well “ she would lean forwards and place her elbows onto the table and rested her chin on top of her clasped hands “ i was here grabbing some more supplies from nearby stores, i was a bit ahead of schedule so i stopped off to have lunch and figured i could cram a study session in at the same time.” She would look out the window before leaning back and then pointing to the table at the far-right corner of the patio. “i was sitting there and got a sandwich with turkey on it. While i was sitting there studying the cat showed up climbed onto the table and laid down on my book, so i fed it some turkey. But it looked well taken care of, and i was uncertain if the cat just scooped out people who sat outside or if he was just being friendly, or i guess i assumed it to be a him. “she would explain before glancing towards the door to the kitchen. The server seemed to be taking his time, not that Danica would say anything like that right now, she didn’t want to bring down the mood. “ do you have a favorite animal?” She asked Luna, it might help her in the future, in the event that she had to get a gift for her, for something like her birthday or maybe just to cheer her up.

Luna stared on with a bit of thought as Danica said training tended to get to her. That was fair, as it was probably what would lead to their entire futures and livelihood. How couldn't you get caught up in it a little bit depending on the kind of person you were. Though at the same time, the dog-girl still couldn't see that kind of person in Danica. But she would reserve her evaluation of it for when they actually train one day. Danica definitely didn't seem like the overbearing type to get like that even in training, but perhaps that was just a side that Luna couldn't ever draw out until she got in the same situation.
In the end, it also wasn't a subject that Luna wanted to pursue either. The simple thought of something souring the relationship between the two of them, or Danica putting herself down as someone that wasn't easy to get along with, kind of put Luna in a rough position. She didn't want to fight Danica on those claims and make anything worse, especially given that she had no actual evidence to talk out against it. But she also didn't want to just blindly accept these things. There was no real right way to respond, and it made Luna wrack her brain for a moment before deciding it was best to just smile at her friend, letting the conversation move on to its next point rather than holding it hostage there.
Danica started to talk about her previous visit there, causing Luna to tilt her head curiously. If the cat looked well taken care of, it was probably just a little spoiled and felt friendly around humans enough to hang out at this cafe. Or perhaps it was owned by someone who works there and they just let it hang out outside, she didn't actually know since it was all being told to her rather than her actually experiencing it as Danica had. But that also meant Danica had a friendly aura around her that could draw in the cat rather than pushing it away! Luna felt like she scored one there, Danica was totally pleasant. "Well, that cat sounds like a pleasant little fella. I'm sure it's definitely fine if it appeared taken care of back then!" Luna giggled as she clapped her hands together. It wasn't like anyone was doubting that the cat was okay or anything, but more just Luna's cheerful demeanor tried to shine through as she wished and hoped well for the cat even though she had no actual connection to it herself.
Though the next topic that was brought up sort of threw Luna for a loop. Her favorite animal? There was a bit of bias there, given how much her quirk had actually imprinted on her personality on top of it all. It was such a boring answer but it would be an objective lie if she said she didn't get along the most with other dogs that had a more energetic personality like her own. Sure there were dogs who weren't like that but as a whole the ones who acted like her imprinted immensely. Though if it was picking favorites off of an aesthetic look, she probably liked lizards the most, even the big ones were cute. "Mmmm... I like most animals as long as they aren't being mean at the time. But overall I think dogs are my favorite. The happy energetic ones connect with me so well and I feel so cozy and at home." she would chuckle a bit and rub the back of her head as she gave her honest but still boring answer. At least she felt it was a bit cliche no matter what, given her quirk.
"What about yourself? I'm sure being friends with me gives you an incredible bias towards dogs too~" she would stick her tongue out as she teased, before sitting back in her seat and grinning a bit. "But I'm curious about the actual answer too, jokes aside!~" she would clasp her hands together once more in front of herself, smiling at her friend as she awaited an answer.

When Luna declared the cat the be a pleasant little fella it brought a smile to Danica’s face, it was certainly nice to be around someone so kind and thoughtful, with any luck it would rub off on her a bit. She was very happy that Luna had accepted the invitation to come for tea, and it seemed to be going rather well, of course it had some ups and downs but that was just life.
Danica asked about Luna’s favourite animal, seemingly out of no where, which she agreed was a bit strange, but Danica had her reasons. At first it seemed like she was going to deflect the question, and chalk it up to loving all animals. Danica could not help but feel a little disappointed until Luna threw in a ~ but~ and continued to her initial question, Danica would share into the chuckle as Luna would nervously play it off.
The question was returned in her direction, but it was to be expected at this point, Danica enjoyed that talking to Luna wasn’t like talking to a wall, she was far more complicated that she given her credit for, not that she thought badly of it either way. She joked about having a bias towards dogs and then stuck her lounge out at Danica. Her eyes widened a bit as the comment threw her off her initial answer she had prepared. “ well of course i cant rule that out” she would smirk, “ promise not to laugh, but i think my favourite animal is a turtle” she couldn’t help but grin like a fool as she admitted liking turtles. “i don’t know why but i find them so adorable, they are slow and methodical, but they have no reason to be fast, just floating through life doing whatever they want.” She expanded upon her pick. They were resilient and stubborn. “oh and i guess porcupines for similar reasons” she would say as her attention turned towards the doors into the kitchen, the sound of them swinging had caught her attention. As the server showed up with a tray that had her coffee and the tea that Luna had requested
The man smiled pleasantly as he approached the table and started to speak “sorry about the wait, we just took a quick trip to the tea shop down the road and grabbed you the one you requested.” He would place the small cast iron tea pot down on the saucer dish in front of Luna, and the place a teacup down. “enjoy~ your meal will be out in the next few minutes” he would say before turning on his heel and moving towards the counter again.
Danica smiled towards the man as he placed down the beverages, and then nodded towards him in thanks. Taking this time to quickly prepare her next set of questions, she thought the animal question was a little too off topic and that is why it likely brought some confusion. She had to avoid talking about school, as it seemed to make Luna sad sometimes. She had to quickly figure out a different topic.
She would open up again with” do you have a favorite meal?” She asked before picking up her coffee and bring it up to her mouth taking the time to smell it before placing it back down and picking up the milk and pour a splash into the coffee and then bringing it back up to take a sip.
