The pavement was cracked, splitting down the middle of the road. Broken vehicles and trucks litter the so-called streets of the training area. Glass and metal debris litter the sidewalk, removed their places in the buildings of the destroyed area. Speaking of buildings, it look they seen better days. Almost nearly all the windows were gone and some buildings were missing an entire front. The area seem like something feral rampage through here, taking as many things with in its destructive path. Desmoshi was surprised to see that UA took the time to make something like this. A building design to test a young hero and give them tips on how to be better. Fort Slog had a lot a floors to it, but, according to Aquatine-sensei, they would have to only go through one floor which was combined with the second. The goal was to make to the end in seven minutes and avoid traps. That's all the combat instructor said as the victory conditions for this. And with Mizuki and Yang here this will be a breeze. As usual, Desmoshi was prepared to go full speed ahead into the training area at top speed, no questions ask. But something stop the impulse from doing so. He looked around the area and something clicked in his mind. Whether this was maturity talking to him for the first time or usual street sense saving him, it was keeping him from doing his usual thing. 'Why would a combat instructor lend her own quirk to help us through a training area that should only take seven minutes?' Desmoshi thought to himself. 'What are you talking about? Just smash everything!!' Ame yelled in the back in his mind. Desmoshi was tempted at first but there was something telling him to actually think about this. 'Seems like a good plan. But I think Aquatine-sensei what us to think of this like a real situation. Not something to just randomly do without regard.' "We need to do this differently," Desmoshi said, probably getting surprised looks from his sister, Yang, maybe even his teachers and peers. "Why would Aquatine-sensei allow us to use her quirk to power through something in seven minutes? Most of should be able to do that without her quirk. And yes, there are traps, but it wouldn't slow us down that much." Desmoshi looked around the destroyed area. "There is more to this lesson."Desmoshi turned to his sister. "You have been in a real-life disaster situation before," he said to his twin with a confident smile. "You should take the lead on this one. You have a better head on your shoulders than I do and you can see the situation a lot better than I can." Desmoshi wasn't giving up because he couldn't do it. He figure that the best chance to get through this exercise is allowing someone who had experience in this area come up with the plans.
Mizuki's POV
Mizuki had been in this scenario before. It was when Redhorn went on her rampage through Tokyo City. Buildings and property were damaged. People were angered and outraged about how easy she got off. The government was in a disarray about how heroes control themselves and conducted in front of the community. Thankfully, not too many people got hurt and some of the buildings were repaired with no problems. However, she knew this incident wasn't going away quietly and the heroine was probably going to face a few legal issues along with the rest of the quirk community. During that time, Mizuki felt helpless and felt like she couldn't do anything right. However, she prevailed somehow and made it through.
But that was not here nor now as Mizuki analyzed the training area. She looked around to find if anything was out of the ordinary... besides the normal amount of damage of course. "Hmm," Mizuki mused quietly. "It would seem the test is set up like a natural disaster. I'm not sure what is-" Before she could finish her thought, her brother attempted to race ahead of her and Yang. 'Oh crap,' Mizuki thought to herself. Her brother was charging for a usual. There goes their grade!
However, she was surprised when Desmoshi stopped and turned back around. 'Am I missing something here?' Mizuki thought to herself. 'No,' Tsuki piped up in the back of her mind. 'Your brother is finally getting it.' Mizuki did a mental "pfft" sound in her mind. But Tsuki was right. Desmoshi turned around and asked Mizuki to take the lead. He even pointed out some things about the exercise and how it was structured, making solid points about them. She was used to her brother charging forward, but maybe this whole class president thing was making him think a little more.
"Umm..." Mizuki responded still surprised by her brother. Was this is a trick or something? This was a whole new level for her. She shook her head and continued. "The first thing we need to understand is that we only have about seven minutes to pull this off. We need to treat this as if it was a real situation. That means looking for any survivors and keeping an eye out for any traps until we make it to the end." She turned to her brother. "Desmoshi, you are more durable than Yang and me. Plus, you can bulldoze us through any problems that we might run into. Go in the front to provide us some protection." She looked at Yang next. "Yang, you go in the middle. Your quirk and swordsmanship would protect our sides. I will go in the back and guard your rear, keeping an eye out for anything coming from behind."
When Mizuki finished explaining everything, she looked at her teammates. "If we run into trouble, don't separate. Stay together and fight as one. I rather we finish late than doing it incorrectly." Once everyone, had gotten into their positions, Mizuki said with a little bit of confidence, "Let's do this."

Yang Yang was excited to do a group training with Mizuki and Desmoshi. The goal of Fort Slog was to attempt to make it out of this room. However, it was a disaster area that was probably laced with hidden dangers. She thought she was ready but almost as soon as they entered the building and the scenario played out of in front of her, it was obvious she was not ready.
A disaster area was probably the polite way to explain their current scenario. It was pure hell. A hero was supposed to handle this…right? Why couldn’t Yang? She just couldn’t and it was so hard for her not to reference her traumatic past. Losing her parents, losing her sister, accidentally killing those doctors, and purposely exacting her revenge. All of those memories flooded to her and it was just too much.
Red sighed. “When the hell are you supposed to accept your past? This will always be a part of you.” She sounded harsh but it got Yang’s attention. Yang gritted her teeth. Of course Red wanted her to accept this part of her so she could have more control. That’s all she ever wanted. She just wanted control of their body. But it was just so hard, who could accept everything that has happened in their life that has happened in Yang’s and expect to be completely okay with this fact? The background of what Mizuki and Desmoshi’s conversation was heard by Yang but at the time she didn’t respond. She was too busy in her mental realm currently arguing with her other self. But time was definitely ticking. If they were going to do anything, Yang needed to pull herself together and do it quickly.
Red finally lost her temper. “You will never be a Hero if you can’t even help out in a fake encounter.” As much as Yang hated it, Red was right. She couldn’t stay paralyzed in her fears forever. But she just couldn’t do this. It was so much for her. Luckily she had the quirk regulators on. It was such a relief that her quirk wasn’t responding to her emotions as of right now.
Yang took deep breathes attempting to calm herself. She needed to be a part of the plan Mizuki had devised earlier and she couldn’t do in her current state. But how does one person expect her to suddenly get better during a high stress situation? How does she expect to ever be a Hero if she couldn’t save people?
Heroes would always be in high stress situations and somehow manage to not only save the people but to save the day. Could Yang ever do this? The answer as of right now is no. But Red could. Yang gritted her teeth. She hated the fact she needed to rely on her other personality but she didn’t have a choice. Red smiled. Finally sometime in the physical realm and not the mental. The switch was almost instantaneous but Mizuki would notice the difference almost immediately. This wouldn’t be the first time she has encountered this side of Yang. Maybe Desmoshi’s first time but he probably would accept it considering what the goal was. Red walked closer to Mizuki and Desmoshi. Luckily she was paying attention to the plan. “I think this is a great plan. Let’s go ahead and start.”
Now hopefully if Mizuki's plan pans out, they should be able to do their objective. It wasn't to clear the area, realistically speaking that would be the easiest thing to do but since this was a disaster area that mean there are survivors. Most likely the teacher that put this scenario together wanted to test their priorities. Rather they thought about the survivors and how to logically navigate through this area that had hidden dangers all around it. Luckily Mizuki had did something like this and it was probably the best that she leaded the group. She had the most experience out of them on how to be a Hero in this situation. Red was hopefully ready for anything but of course she needed to activate her quirk, she would just need to figure out when as they attempted to progress in this area.

Desmoshi listened closely to Mizuki's explanation and plan about the scenario they were in. This was new for him. Desmoshi always thought to charge headfirst in and taking the blows before anyone else could was the right plan. He thought so in the Sports Festival event. But now seeing things in a different light, he understood that he needed to be more than a shield for people. Besides, there were enemies out there that hit tougher than any of the other students he faced. He needed to think and act at the same time.
He was surprised by Yang's sudden surge of confidence. Usually, she was the quiet one out of the trio but today felt different for some reason. 'I like her attitude,' Ame said in his mental space. 'Straight forward, no fear. The makings of a warrior.' 'Yeah but something is not right. Usually, she is more... recluse,' Desmoshi responded, giving Yang a once over. Well no need to worry about now. They had bigger fish to fry. Mizuki, on the other hand, was kind of worried. She had seen this once before. And now it was happening again. She could only trust that both Yang and Red would work together instead of against each other.
They were stuck in the middle of a disaster and they had seven minutes to navigate it. Well, now it's six minutes! They needed to get moving if they were going to make it to the end of this. Desmoshi took the lead as Mizuki fell in behind along with Yang bringing up the rear.
As they moved through the mock, destroyed buildings, they kept their eyes open for any possible signs of enemies and civilians(dummies) that might be caught in the area. Desmoshi was able to spot out a couple of dummies gather together. "I got a sight on some civilians," Desmoshi responded, pointing to the group of dummies. The group approached cautiously, keeping an eye out for enemies. Desmoshi went forward to pick up the first dummy...
A loud click was heard throughout the battlefield with the sound of whirring gears. It seemed that one of the dummies was sitting on a pressure plate that triggered a trap. The ground shook as they heard rumbling come from behind them as though an earthquake had come about. "PUT DOWN THE HUMAN. COMPLY OR YOU WILL DIE!" Before the students stood a fifteen-foot giant made of metal and gears. It shadowed over the three students, preparing to take them out. "Prepare for a fight!" Desmoshi said as he got into an offensive stance.

Yang / Red Red drew her sword, the metal giant looming over the students. She knew this fight would be tough and it would require the three of them working together. She looked over to Mizuki, watching her prepare a plan in mind. Red thought back to her training with Myrkul when it came to dealing with bigger opponents. Yeah, they were strong, but they had weaknesses. And they were more open than the normal person. 'Are you with me or against me?' Red asked her mental partner.
Yang was still not sure. Was the other being here to help her or hinder her? Was this due to her quirk? Or was the illusion of the mind playing tricks on her? She wasn't sure anymore. But she knew that Red was right. Even if they can't agree on everything, they could agree on two- their survival and protecting Mizuki. Her mind went back to the Fuchu Riots and how they protected each other. They needed to do that again. And that was what she was going to do. 'I'm with you,' Yang answered.
Red smiled. Finally, she and her partner on the same page for once. Yang ran forward first, using her speed and mobility to get in close to the robot. The robot tried to take a few hits at her but she dodged them effortlessly, using her ninja-like reflexes to get under the mighty metal. She took a swipe for the ankles, adding her quirk for the extra damage and slicing

Desmoshi watched closely at his teammate as she swiped at the ankles of the giant robot. It clicked. He knew what she was doing. He turned to Mizuki. "Mizuki, you are faster out of the two of us. Move the civilians to a safer spot and we'll keep the robot busy. Once you have done that come to help us." Desmoshi jumped into the fray with Yang. He knew what his role was. It was the same role he played in the Fuchu Riots and Sports Festival. Be a distraction to the enemy. Let those who are faster take out the weak spots. Victory.
Desmoshi yelled out, "Hey, over here you bucket of bolts!" Desmoshi yelled out to the robot. The robot took notice and sent a giant fist to Desmoshi, making a connection with him, kicking up a large cloud of dust. For a second it seems that the young teen was done for. "I AIN'T DONE YET!" A giant rush of flames rushed from underneath the giant's fist pushing him back, melting off his metal hand. When the fire settled, Desmoshi was cloaked in a flaming boxing robe of fire adorned with a lion on top. He had four arms made of flames complete with roaring lions on the end of each fist. [smear:#e63219]"Fire Breathing! Seventh Form! The Roaring Champion! King Leon Boxer."[/smear:#e69419:0]
Mizuki couldn't believe it! He did it! He did the Haymaker coating twice now! She had seen before at the riots and now it was here again. She put the dummies in a safe spot, away from the chaos. She saw a pad marked green with the words "Safety Zone" on it. Well, that solves that problem at least. She placed the dummies on the green circle and heard the ding, meaning that the civilians were removed from exercise.
When she got back to the fight, a plan had already come to mind. "Desmoshi! You need to knock it down on its back. Yang, drive a sword in his chest. I have an idea." Desmoshi wasn't the only one improving. She had a new element to her arsenal. She could steal use the other four, but the fire was unreliable and earth would do nothing. She was able to ice once let see if she could do it again.

Yang / Red Red nodded her head, preparing her blade to strike. One slash at the exposed wires at its ankles. Two slashes at the other one. Each cut was getting harder and harder to do, but she manages to get through most of them. She wasn't paying attention when a metal hand came and smacked her across the field. "Hnngh!" The metal collided into her, the force propelling her into a nearby car. She took a minute or two to catch her breath and stood up slowly. She looked towards the robot with anger in her eyes.
"Okay," said Red with a battle-hungry smile. "You want to do this the hard way, huh? Let's play." The red in her eyes intensified as she slit her hand opened with her sword. The blood seeped out as she activated her quirk, coating the blade in her blood. It increased in size making a bigger and longer red-flowing katana. "My turn," she said as she sprinted to the robot. She was careful to make sure not to run into Desmoshi, who was holding the robot by its metal hand, as she begin hacking at the robot's ankles, the cuts much deeper than the first attempt. Metal and wires were sent flying as the robot begin to stumble back, losing its balance.

"Yang!" Desmoshi yelled out as the metal hand made contact with the young girl sending her flying across the battlefield. Mizuki tried to run up and help her but something caught her by the ankles. She looked down to see metal tentacles wrapping around her ankles. She didn't know she had stepped on a trap. She panicked. She couldn't do anything. Yang was hurt and in trouble. Desmoshi was trapped in a decision on whether to help Yang or Mizuki. However, he wasn't paying attention when the metal hand came down again. Desmoshi was slammed into the ground, coughing up blood from the blow. "GET. OFF. ME!" Desmoshi yelled, aiming a flaming fist through the hand of the robot. The flames shot through in a flaming column, causing the robot to stumble.
He was heading over to help his sister when she yelled, "Don't worry about me," Mizuki yelled. "Keep going with the plan. I'll get out of this soon." Desmoshi nodded and continued to fight the giant metal before him. Mizuki turned her attention back to the tentacles. "I will not be useless," she said, focusing her quirk. As she did, the tentacles begin to rapidly freeze from the inside out. With one swift motion she broke free and headed to help her brother, who was holding the metal beast by its giant hand while Yang used a giant read blade of blood to slash through the ankles. She focused on her powers again. She had to time this just right.

Yang / Red
Red panicked. Watching Mizuki getting caught in the tentacles was scary. It brought back memories of what happened in the Fuchu Riots. When she was stabbed through the shoulder. Mizuki told her to continue, saying that she was fine. Red was not going to let this happen again. Not for a second time. She ran up to the giant robot, continuing her onslaught of blades swings. She felt her stamina remaining, but she knew she was running out of blood. She needed to end this fast.
She made a larger of her bleeding blade as the metal tentacles tried to slash at her. With each swing of her blade the tentacles fell to the ground, limped and unable to reform. Red wouldn't surrender. She will help her teammates no matter what. She would not watch Mizuki get hurt again... ever! She jumped up on the giant metal and ran up the leg. She slashed at the robot's joint where the leg collected causing it to topple. Desmoshi followed up with a flaming pung to force the bot to the ground. Red plunged her blade into the bot's chest. "Mizuki, you're set!" she yelled to Mizuki as she hopped off, the robot on its back on the ground.

Mizuki focused her energy as she hopped on top of the downed robot. She focused her energy and froze the blade, using it as a conduit to continue freezing the robot inside out. Her plan was simple. Freeze the inner workings of the robot and its joints to keep it from moving. Once the robot was stopped they would be able to complete Fort Slog without too much trouble. But this would be harder to do, as the robot was completely frosted, but still functioning. The tentacles from earlier wrapped around Mizuki and threw her into an adjacent building. Damn, she was close.
That was until she saw Desmoshi falling from the sky, covered in flames. His fist resembled a giant lion as he slammed into the robot. [smear:#e69419]"FIRE BREATHING! NINTH FORM! LEON CANNON!"[/smear:#e63219:0] And like the name suggested, a flaming explosion went off engulfing the robot. The good thing about the Haymakers' quirk is that the elements they made didn't cause them any harm. But Desmoshi knew this needed to be wrapped up and he put all his energy into it. When the flames cleared, what was left was a melted metal husk of a robot, clearly destroyed in the flames. A large crater made underneath the robot, it seems that the fight was over. "Maybe a little less fire next time," Mizuki said as she gathered the dummies with Yang and making their way to the exit.
The teens made it to the exit, completing and passing their first trial in Fort Slog.
