Yang
Choices, what were Yang's food choices again? She sighed, it looked like the salad bar was her only option. Of course that was her only option. Of course she would have made herself a bento but she wasn't in her room where she had her supplies to make her a decent lunch style bento. Instead she had to eat rabbit food while the others ate whatever. Then again when she thought about it, Mizuki was also eating a salad as well. It gave Yang some comfort that she wouldn't be doing this alone.
However it wasn't long into their lunch when Berker attempted to make Yang a part of the conversation. She paused and realized this entire time she was silent. But of course she played the role of a mute. Well it wasn't a role she had particularly wanted to take but it was forced on her. One day maybe she could be normal and talk with ease but until then she would rather seem rude than have to explain her story. She sighed. Berker seemed to be a good friend of the Haymakers. Maybe it would only be right to tell him that she couldn't speak?
As she began to search for something to write on because she wasn't sure if Berker would understand sign language or not, Mizuki was the one who spoke up. It was quite simple. All she stated was that Yang was mute. This felt oddly familiar didn't it? Yang thought about it briefly and remembered when Desmoshi did the same for the other people she had met earlier on in this school year. One of which was definitely a spit fire. She couldn't help but smile at the memory but at the same time felt weird that another Haymaker was standing up for her. Of course it quickly answered the fact of why Yang was silent this entire time. It wasn't because she found Berker bothersome, just it would be rather awkward for Yang to speak to him. She always felt like this and thought that it was a mental block that kept her from communicating like a normal person.
She quickly shrugged off the awkwardness of this conversation and attempted to eat more of her salad. She sighed heavily. The one thing she hated the most about being a vegetarian was having to eat salads. It was probably one of the things she wished wasn't a part of this life style she chose.

Desmoshi a mouth full of food. "No," he said looking at Berker with a smile. "She's just mute, that's all. But she is cool people. Plus, I am pretty sure she is happy with you being here." Desmoshi continued to chow down through the mountains of food. He had been needing to eat more since starting UA. Mostly because his quirk burned off the calories for him, but he felt there was more to that. Maybe his quirk was developing? Changing? Who knew?
For now, he was going to enjoy his time with friends and the small victory earned. As he looked up at the monitor on the screen, he caught a glimpse of a match that was between Yuuto and Kumoko, with Yuuto being declared the winner. The leaderboard came back up, displaying those who were going to the finals- Desmoshi, Jack, Karen, and Yuuto. Well, this may have gotten harder for him. But either way, he looked at it as a challenge, no matter win or lose.
"Berker," Desmoshi said after taking a swig of his soda. "Why are you becoming a hero? You must have some goal in mind." He didn't want to be too privy, but since there were sharing, why not ask.

Mizuki had wondered if she gave the right answer. Heck, she didn't even know the right answer. When the Sports Festival came, Desmoshi knew exactly what he wanted to do, despite just only training for it for two months. He knew he wanted to compete. He knew what his goals were. What was hers? To her force her father into retirement? No, that was looking like more and more of an excuse than actually doing good in the world. And that was just it. Everyone had the same generic answer to her. They want to do good in the world. They want to bring peace between people. They want this and they want that. But her- what did she want?
She looked up just in enough time to hear Desmoshi ask Berker his question. She had heard Berker's reasoning before she believed, but Desmoshi has not. She looked over to Yang who was quietly eating her food, not saying much. What about Yang? What did she want out of this whole hero business? It seemed as though everyone at the table had a goal they were shooting towards. But for her, the path seem dark and mysterious, her future unclear of which direction to actually take.

"Hmm..." Berker knew she was mute as she already told him that when they met. He was talking about how she did not write anything either. "Oh well..." He was not going to dig that any more.
Berker took his time before answering his question. He was in doubt about his place in this school. It has been a while since the seeds of doubt has started to spread in his heart. Now, they bloomed. He didn't wanted to say he had no reason to be here. Yes, he wanted to save others. The thing he was not sure if he shall be doing it as Hero or something else. Many people who came to this place had dreams and goals yet Berker was devoid all of them. Not only that but he was sure he was missing something. He didn't know what was that yet. To not make others wait any longer he decided to tell a little white lie.
"I always admired the heroes off the old times. You know... the stories. How Sun Wukong became Buddha, how great Hercules was etc. I wanted to be like them. I wanted to distribute justice in whatever form i am capable of. That's why i came here to learn more about my quirk. I think... You can say this is the reason." What he said was not wrong. It was true he looked up to Sun Wukong and many other great heroes. Not only real ones but even fictional ones. The part he left out was the part him doubting himself. No one had to know about this yet. He didn't know what the future would bring for him. Good or bad. "I hope this answered your question. It's not as noble as yours but, it's still something i guess " He smiled.

Yang
Yang was quiet. Maybe a bit too quiet. Maybe she was attempted to stomach this awful salad for lunch. Of course she was always a quiet person even when things weren't the way the were. She just enjoyed the conversation. Until Desmoshi had asked Berker the question that always gets mixed responses. Something along the lines of why that person wants to be a hero. Of course this seems to be a conversation starter for Desmoshi. But he genuinely wanted to know why people wanted to become a hero. He had a very righteous reason of why he wanted to become one. His path was basically laid out for him since he knew what he wanted to do.
After listening to Berker's answer. It was a bit interesting. He sounded more like a vigilante than a hero. He wanted to save the day like a hero but in his terms which is why it sounded like a vigilante. Of course being a vigilante was illegal so this was probably the safest bet for Berker. Become a student in this hero school, internship under pro-heroes, become a side kick, then hopefully just hopefully become a pro-hero. Of course Yang felt like she was missing steps but she wasn't sure where. She shrugged it off fairly quickly when it became obvious that Desmoshi's question was also directed towards Yang and Mizuki even though he didn't say their names. He didn't have too. He asked the question for Berker and it would only be fair if Mizuki and Yang chimed in with their response. But Yang couldn't. She simply couldn't.
This was about as awkward as the tea party she had. Every moment of that tea party was awkward. But she did meet new people in her own special way. She sighed and pondered for a while. What was her reason of becoming a hero? Because her daddy said so? Or was there something more? Obviously she couldn't follow the mysterious path that her father walked nor could she travel anyone else. It was her path that she was walking and she walked it alone. Yang was so deep in thought that she actually stopped eating the salad trying to think of an answer to the lingering question. Why did she want to become a hero? If she had to answer truthfully right now it would be because she was forced to in a sense. She sighed and hoped that she could continue to munch on this salad in silence.

Desmoshi sat back and listened to Berker's answers. When he and Mizuki were raised, they were told about stories like that. Especially about Amaterasu, Susanoo, and Tsukiyomi. His mom would always call him Ame for short, saying that he was bright as the sun and as energetic as the Sun God himself. A lot of his boxing moves was model after him. And now to be here, living his dream to become a hero, felt like being in one of those stories. He finally got a chance to make a mark on history. The question was: Could he do it?
"It doesn't matter who's goal is the noblest one," Desmoshi said, leaning back in his chair. His plate was clean and he looked up towards the sky. "What is important is that you strive towards the goal and become what you always wanted to be. Sometimes, you may fail. But you just get up and try again. At least, that's what I think." Desmoshi got up from the table and dusted off the crumbs from his clothes. It felt good to eat after this round, mainly because he wasn't put in a hospital this time. "Well, we better get back to it. Ready whenever you are sis."

Everyone at the table seemed to have a goal or something in mind to aim for. But what about her? What about what she wanted? Did she really want to be like her parents? Maybe more like her mother when came in terms of discipline. However, when it came to martial arts, she only took up Muay Thai to please her mother. She had a passion for swordsmanship and she wanted to apply that instead. But was she moving away from her mother's legacy? Her mother who taught her, but she didn't want to disappoint her by doing something different. As much as she wanted to escape her parent's shadow, she felt a small part of her still wanted to be like her mother.
"Desmoshi is right, Berker," Mizuki said quietly. "You don't have to prove to anyone how noble your goal is and it doesn't define you as a hero. You set what you want to do." Mizuki sat there thinking if she should take her own advice. She just didn't where she fit in at all of this. Was she even capable of being a hero for the people that need it? She wasn't too sure but hopefully, she would find out soon.
