Pretty simple and straightforward thread, about a colour of a usergroup on site, for which I find I dislike despite the fact it doesn't significantly affect me?
Basically, I feel like in terms of site color scheme green is the wrong colour for third year students?
Like if you look at the way the colours flow between usergroups, you have civilians and vigilante's in green (unlicensed guys), then pro heroes (fully licensed guys) in blue. Are you with me so far, cause this is where we delve into the real complicated 'colour poetry' aspect...
I think it makes sense to students but blue as well as heroes since they're a 'connected' character group, but to me having the most experienced and closest to full hero status students in green seems counter-intuitive? Surely, if the colours follow a progressive theme, the people becoming more 'hero-like' as they progress through school, it seems almost like a visual throwback to suddenly have them in some rich green colour again? Like the progression is backwards?
I have a couple of suggestions to solve this;
#1) Flip it. Have the new first years be the 'greenest' colour group since they are the greenest group of heroes, both in terms of experience in the hero program and the fact that they are the nearest of all the student colour groups to civilian, so they haven't been fully 'dyed' in hero colours; the process is ongoing.
#2) Make all students the same colour. While I appreciate that there are probably reasons each year of students have their own usergroup, such as for mailing all and all that, do we really need separate colours for them? A student is a student at the end of the day, they're not a licensed pro so they do need defining from that group and from civilians, but separating them from each other seems a bit excessive perhaps?
I'ma add a poll if anyone is interested enough in this topic to vote in it (I doubt it), since we now have polling rights in the suggestion area apparently, however that's my piece on the issue as I see it... Feel free to comment on it if you feel it's necessary, or ignore it entirely as I expect most will do.
And... if you have bothered to read this far into one of my rants I thank you. It's nice to know my opinion on something as trivial as this holds enough weight with you that you're willing to do that.
