Through Fire and Flames with a heart set ablaze by justice Right now he sucked!
It was so annoying to realize how much worse he got after his coma and rehabilitation, it was like he had lost YEARS of progress and was back to a terrible amateur level. His body wasn't reacting the way it used to be, he lacked the speed, the finesse, the power and even the instincts. It felt almost like his body and mind were numb. He would scoff in frustration as he sparred under the supervision of the owner of the academy, Aioria, who was currently just outside of the ring as Seiya sparred with another boy, carefully analyzing his every move. "Come on, boy! Move your body! You are idling too much!" he shout as he carefully coached his star pupil.
The silver haired boy nodded and just tried to tap into the knowledge he still had, trying to make his body work in the way it used to, but he failed and let himself open to a hook to his gut. "Ugh!" he grunted as his body doubled in pain. He gritted his teeth momentarily, almost not being able to dodge the upcoming jab to his face, which grazed by his nose, making his eyes become watered, but luckily he wasn't knocked by the attack. "You are thinking too much, boy! Let your body move on its own! Follow your instincts!" Aioria said, leaning towards the ring, watching him like a papa hawk.
The whole place was full with people as today was the one day of the month they opened the doors of the academy to anyone who was willing to take an experimental class.
Seiya was improving a bit and as soon as he saw a breach in the guard of his sparring partner, he quickly closed in and hit him with a hard and fast jab with his right arm, followed by a cross-punch with his left arm that took the other boy to the ground, knocked out.
As he saw his opponent falling, he managed to crack a smile on his face, feeling a bit proud of himself; just a month ago he was struggling to get back into walking and now he was already back at the ring. Far from his prime, there was no denying, but he knew it was a matter of time before he could go back to being the young prodigy he used to be. "Now you are talking business! Now go rest for a bit, your mother told me not to let you overdo it!" and as he said that, the smile on the boy's face faded away as he stared at Aioria. "Come on, prof! I can do one more spar before I need to rest! I'm still full of gas!" he tried to argue, but the man just shook his head. "No can do." he shrugged and threw the towel to the boy. "Go take a rest, drink some water and maybe, MAYBE I will let you do one more. No promises here!" and Seiya just sighed and took off his gloves, wiping his face with the towel.
"Alright, alright! But I will do one more before I call it a day!" he insisted, but Aioria didn't even bother answering. Then he headed to the fountain to re-hydrate. "This is so annoying! My mom won't get out of my ass, goddammit! I'm better now!" he thought to himself, feeling completely annoyed.

Inhale, inhale, exhale, exhale, rinse and repeat. That was Darren’s breathing rythmn as he ran along the riverbank, like a boxing manga cliché. He stopped at regulars intervals to jab at the air and dodge invisible punches, his legs dancing gracefully. He got back to his roadwork.
At first, the delinquent hated roadwork. He didn’t came to a boxing gym to run, he came to box. So when the tiny owner of the Fujikawa gym, which was named after himself, told him to run around the block until he was drenched in sweat before he even thought of stepping inside his gym, he almost went home.
Almost. Something about that old man’s tone irked him, so he did it, just to prove he could do it. When he stepped inside, the old man yelled at him that it wasn’t enough and made him run five more laps. Again, he almost went home. But now, he was committed, and he would see that old fool’s training to the end or his name wasn't Daimon Darren.
That was a month ago, when Darren starting coming to the small Musutafu gym on an irregular basis. Since then, he’d done more than just running. He was being forced to do sit-ups while the coach dropped a medicine ball on his stomach with every rep. There was lifting. There were endless sessions on the sandbag where he was forced to jab only.
He had joined boxing clubs in school before, but it never stuck with him. The instructors looked at him like he was some filthy delinquent. Which was partly true, but he still wasn’t too warm to the disdain in their eyes.
Coach Fujikawa was different. A sharp-browed, constantly frowning tiny old man with vestigial hair, it was hard to believe this was the same guy as the smiling 20-something on the fight adverts adorning the walls of his dingy old gym, but he apparently used to be the Japanese Lightweight Champion and even had a shot at the OPBF title match. Darren had been warned by his senpais not to bring it up, but being Darren, he did it anyway.
The coach only answer was yelling at him to chat less and punch more, and a sharp left hook caught Darren in the jaw. Despite being a good head smaller than him, and more than fifty years older, he could stick one on him, and that was enough to impress the delinquent. For once, he had a smidge of respect for someone else and decided to leave it at that. He’d hear that OPBF story later, when the old man would feel like telling it.
Today, he had a fun assignment. He was supposed to do his roadwork on the way to Aioria gym, that private academy who opened its doors once a month for a public spar. Darren grinned big when he heard the news. Coach Fujikawa sighed. “Yes, it’s exactly what you expect. I’ll meet you there once you finish your training menu. And don’t you skip on me, kid!” “Yes sir!” answered the blonde adolescent, practically giddy.
He pulled up to the gym just in time to witness some white-haired dude about his age knock out another with a sharp one-two. Seeing this, the delinquent's instincts flared up. He knew a strong opponent when he saw one. His adrenal glands began filling his brain with sweet, juicy adrenaline. There was some sort of argument between the boy and his coach on how he would only do one more. He used the time to look around. The place was a much more modern affair than the coach’s dingy old gym, with its glass window walls and state-of-the-art air conditioning.
“Here!” shouted Darren, holding up his right hand. “I just finished my roadwork so we’re even too,” he added with a smirk. He caught his coach glaring at him in the audience and waved at him with his idiotic grin. The coach sighed, rubbed the bridge of his nose and made his way to Darren, who was already on the edge of the ring, handing him the gym bag with the boxing shoes, gloves and tape he was lending to his new student. As Darren was gearing up, the coach briefed him on his opponent.
“Listen, I’ve been observing this guy, and he’s good. Maybe a little too good for you.” “No one’s too good for me, coach,” answered the adolescent with a smile that could only be cocky. He earned a slap over the temple for it. “Ow!” “You shut up and listen now. Don’t think I’m a fool, I’ve known your type since the day you set foot in my gym. This is a boxing match, not a brawl. He’s an in-fighter, he’s gonna close in and push you into a corner. Remember your lateral movement, keep jabbing and keep your guard up.” “Sure coach, whatever you say,” answered the delinquent, still grinning.
The coach sighed again as his student jumped over the ropes and into the ring, landing softly on the canvas. He was certainly agile, but was he really gonna be okay in here? He usually didn’t trust month old students with inter-gym sparring, but he had a hunch, and Coach Fujikawa was a man who had relied on hunches for all of his boxing career.
Maybe I ought to trust the young blood more, he remarked to himself as Darren was making his way to the center of the ring, banging his gloved fists together in anticipation. At least, there was no doubt the kid loved it. It was written all over his face.

The first thing that hit her was the scent of sweat, making Luzia crinkle her nose. She grimaced slightly, but that disappeared when she looked down at a stained white bunny in her hand, then rose her eyebrows, agreeing to something that wasn't said. The sweat was far better than the grease, oil, grime, and other disgusting things on the street... and plus... she couldn't help but smirk as she mentally added that the view was far better, too.
Despite the brief smirk, Luzia was still feeling out of place. She was dressed in a pencil skirt, red with a splattered green design, and a white button-up shirt, stained with a splattering of pink, and a red cloak, which was quickly becoming one of her favorite clothes. She also carried with her a stained white stuffed rabbit that had seen more than a few years of rough living, one with a noose made of pink string around its neck. Her hair was pink with a dyed lime green streak, and her fingers were each rainbow patterned, or rather, was a not-experienced attempt at at rainbow coloring.
Her red eyes were looking around with a nervousness as she wandered around this... place. This was an academy for fighting, but so far, it didn't look much different than a gym. She knew what a gym was, and this didn't seem much different... except for maybe a lot of the guys were younger... and cuter. Wetzel, her stuffed noosed bunny, spoke to her again, making her nod.
She had to focus. She was here to look into learning how to fight... without Oneechan's permission, but she wanted to surprise her, to make her smile by being more useful. When she heard about this place, she had to give it a shot, but now that she was here... she was definitely afraid. These people knew what they were doing... she knew a little bit herself, but they were in a whole class entirely. But then, that was why she was here... and besides, in a straight up fight, they might win, but she would prefer to think that if she got the drop on them, she'd win.
She looked down at Wetzel when he agreed with her and smirked, nodding before narrowing her eyes. She had taken a train and a bus to get here. She wouldn't be intimidated away, not this time, for Oneechan's sake. She wandered around, looking curiously, wondering what to actually do here.
Finally, though, someone hopping into a ring - why it was called that when it was a square, she didn't know - caught her attention. He had his gloves on and seemed to be bouncing... she knew that look on his face, too. He was looking for a fight.

Through Fire and Flames with a heart set ablaze by justice Here!
Somebody shouted it and Seiya, still with a bit of a laboured breathe looked around, trying to find the one who volunteered to be his sparring partner. His eyes found this blond-haired boy that looked somewhat familiar, though he didn’t quite relate it to a schoolmate yet. The blond haired boy claimed he had done some exercise and that would make them even in the stamina department and Seiya cracked a smirk, feeling pumped with the challenge. ”Alright! Get ready and I will meet you in the ring!” his tone did little effort to hide the excitement.
As he got back to drink some water, Aioria approached him. ”You sure about that? You are still recovering and something on that boy tells me he won’t go down easily.” his coach said, but Seiya just chuckled a little bit and stared back at his coach. ”If he kicks my ass, it will be learning. If I kick his ass, it will mean I’m getting back to my shape. I can only see this as a win-win scenario, sensei.” and his words filled with determination were enough to make Aioria smile and pat him on the back. ”My boy! Go ahead!” he said, giving him his blessing.
Seiya didn’t waste any time; as he saw the blond hopping into the ring, so did him, bumping both his fists against each other and cracking his neck to both sides. ”You sure you don’t need a headgear? Heh!” he teased, as his sharp eyes began to analyze his body movement as he quickly approached the middle of the ring, waiting for Aioria to make the signal so they could start the match.
While they got ready, a girl approached, and the owner of the gym didn’t fail to notice that. ”Interested in some boxing, girl? If so, this will be an interesting match to watch. What’s your name?” he asked of her.

Now Brun came to the gym to exercise. After all he hated using his ability. The cursed thing plagued him with the ability to not eat any of the food without transforming, he was cursed with those tasteless pills that gave him the necessary nutrients each day. He hated it. There was no where else better to relieve stress than the gym. It was a healthy alternative from punching a wall or, the glass out of a pane. He'd prefer to punch the crap out of a sandbag than someone's face. After hitting the sandbag for a good couple hours, punching and kicking the bag with excessive force, the man was sweaty and tired. Grabbing a towel, he would wipe the sweat off of his glistening body. Draping the towel over his shoulders he'd prepare to leave when he spotted two fighters about to box in the ring.
"That looks excitin'!" He'd say to himself as he'd approach Luzia from behind. "Don't mind me ma'am. I'm just interested in what these two fighters 'ere are made of!" He could deduce just by looking at them that they had skill, he was interested in the final outcome of this match. "

“Listen, Darren, he’s in an infighter, he’s gonna stick close… Now it’s true that I told you to be aggressive, but you’re gonna get dragged in a short range match here, and he excels at that from what I’ve seen. Remember what I told you, you’re an outboxer. Use your legs and your sense of balance to punch without getting punched yourself. That’s the basics of boxing. Keep laying the pressure on him with jabs, closing in and out like you do and tire him, make him make a mistake, and then go for the big one. Got it, Darren?” While the coach was drilling a strategy in his brain, or trying to, Darren was staring at his opponent. Now that he thought of it, he saw that guy at school. He wasn’t that surprised; most UA students went to Musutafu for their activities. He couldn’t quite place the white-haired boy or remember his name, though the latter was a common occurrence with Darren. He got up without answering the coach, who shouted a few more instructions at him, in vain. His instincts were in alert right now. He could feel from the way he carried himself in the ring, assured and calm, that his opponent knew what he was doing and knew it well. “No need for headgear,” he declared in a confident voice. “Only slows my head.” He smirked, and extended his left fist forward for a bump; the boxer’s salute. Darren was surprisingly polite when it came to fighting, and the rudest asshole otherwise. With a whistle, the start of the match was announced. Darren pulled back his fist, bounced on the ball of his knees for a second and threw a couple of quick jabs at the other boxer. His cold blue gaze was entirely focused on his opponent and his feet were shuffling on the mat, bringing him around to circle the white-haired kid on Darren’s left. He held a semi-orthodox guard with a loose left hand, his right fist to his chin, his torso at a forty-five-degree angle, his legs constantly dancing on the floor to keep hi moving, to avoid giving the inboxer a straight path to him. Truth was, Darren had been listening with one ear, but he didn’t really need the instructions. He’d done enough brawling to know not to let a close ranged fighter get too close to him, peppering him with attacks until he was weak enough to be pounced on, like a wolf wearing down a prey. Meanwhile, the coach kept both his eyes on his fighter, entirely indifferent to his surroundings. He wasn’t sure why. This boy was a heroics student. He was almost certainly never gonna be a pro boxer. He wouldn’t win his gym a world title. Yet, coach Fujikawa couldn’t help but want to watch this foul-mouthed blonde kid box and his instincts were flaring too. He knew he was about to see a good match. He glanced at the other coach, expecting to find the same look he must have had in his eyes. It’s my boxing against your boxing, his gaze was telling him. My student versus your student. Let the best boxer win.

Luzia watched as the two boys climbed into the ring and got ready, quirking an eyebrow as they bumped fists. She could recognize it as sign of respect, which was fine, but in a fight? She was no stranger to boxing matches, but it felt more... real seeing it in front of her than on a TV. She didn't even know that people other than those big guys did boxing for awhile. Things were different, seeing it like this. It was still entertaining, but....
"Hmm?"
Someone suddenly addressed her, and the primarily pink-haired girl looked over her shoulder as someone walked up to her. She looked back to the fight as it began and shrugged softly. "I'm not sure now. I figured I need to learn how to fight, but this looks really..." She paused, scratching her head softly as she tried to find the right word. This style just didn't seem like it'd be useful outside of a ring... it was so... "...stiff?" She took a random jab at trying to say the right word, and that felt good; she didn't really know anything about this sort of thing, but she knew that she would probably need something more... flowing. This sort of fighting style seemed to be just fine for the ring, but she wouldn't really spend a whole lot of time in one herself. "Yeah, that sounds about right. Stiff."
Luzia looked over her shoulder again when someone else approached, but all he did was comment on the match, so she didn't mind him, just like he said, looking back at the fight and, indirectly, the person that had approached her. A part of her wasn't sure if she had... like, permission to be picky - beggars weren't choosers, after all - but... she wasn't exactly a beggar anymore, right?
