It was nice, having people she trusted.
Sometimes, amidst the flood of uncertainties that plagued her mind, Tetsuko came across a reassuring thought. This was one of them, for even amidst all her struggles, Tetsuko was happy to admit that she wouldn't have even managed this long if she hadn't strengthened her bonds with those around her. With all the family drama she had to come to terms with and all the difficult internal decisions she had to make, Tetsuko found herself quite glad to have people by her side who simple... Cared.
There were many things they couldn't help her with, but that didn't matter. Right now, more than anything like 'guidance', Tetsuko merely needed the confidence to push forward with her own choices, a confidence which might be granted to her with the aid and reassurance of those she considered her closest allies. The self-assurance that come with knowing that even if she erred in her decision, there were those she trusted ready to support and help her no matter the circumstances.
The Tetsuko of old would not have been able to cope with what she now faced, really, as that Tetsuko did not understand how important it was to have people she trusted and cared for...
But now, she had many more people she'd call her friend. Among them, there were two who stood out as those that Tetsuko placed the most faith in, as those she trusted above all else. Elise von Eisenberg, her lover. And Kirk Bluster, her best friend and 'right hand man'. Having spent plenty of time with the former, and their relationship being in a great place right now, she saw fit to touch base with the latter.
With the events fast approaching, Tetsuko had called upon her compatriot, Kirk Bluster, to meet up and just hang out. To chat and talk, to see how they were doing and to make sure they had the support they needed... Tetsuko hadn't yet told him about things with her Grandfather, and she did intend to share at least some of that... Though, of course, some details were out of her hands. It was very much a family matter.
That aside, she was looking forward to speaking with her longtime ally. Tetsuko would be the first to arrive at the meeting place, punctual as she was.
With a soccer ball tucked under her arm, the swordswoman had decided there was no better way to catch up than by making full use of the campus they'd been given access to. So, Tetsuko strolled up onto the Valiant Institute's own soccer field, a very well maintained area within the school grounds. It was to be expected, really, that the British school would have such pristine soccer grounds, and yet, Tetsuko still couldn't help but marvel.
Dropping the ball to the ground, the Shindou girl would keep an eye peeled for Kirk and idly dribble the ball around. How they passed the time while they chatted was up to them to decide, but the sporty duo would surely find some kind of fun use for the field.
