Upgrading to: Type: Misc Rank: F Effect: The electro boots are the second gadget attatchment to Yumi's hero suit. They constantly emit a low level discharge of her quirk letting her hover a half inch off the ground. Using 1 'charge' of her quirk, she can jump roughly 2 meters into the air with about a second or two of charge time. The boots are lightweight and do not inhibit movement.

Upgrading From: Type: Emitter Rank: E Effect: Naturally, Yumi's power is to emit electrical energy from every inch of her body, coating herself in a blue, sparking sheen while pulsing out electrical currents in a 5 meter radius, with the chance for smaller, weaker (non-damaging) sparks to reach up to 10 meters. Yumi's body can hold 20 'charges' per day, and a full post of her power expends 5 charges.
Inside her suit, Yumi creates a closed circuit effect, and can maintain her power without expending a charge while removing her ability to spark everyone around her. Instead, she utilizes her gadgets listed above, which will all have their own seperate details and charge expenditures.
The damage of the charge released by any gadgets is equal to the charge emitted by her non-suit power, unless otherwise specified by a gadget. This damage is a harmful shock that can easily be pushed through by hardy individuals. Repeated shocks could cause chest pains, but never enough to stop a heart.
As a small side effect of her power relying on burning 'fuel', Yumi constantly maintains a healthy weight regardless of her diet, and even remains fairly fit and toned.
Drawback: Yumi needs at least a second of focus to activate her power in or out of her suit, allowing a brief window for a foe to knock her out or distract her. Outside of her suit, she also cannot use her power for 2 consecutive posts, needing at least one post between bursts to re-focus her charges. As a further drawback, using her last charge outside of her suit leaves her exceptionally weakened and physically drained.
Her in Suit and out of suit power uses are completely seperate. Using her power in her suit allows for focus and control, and while outside of her suit it has a higher defensive capability, she loses control and focus, putting her allies at greater risk of harm.

Yumi's gauntlet gadget will also be refunded for exp) Upgrading to: Type: Emitter Rank: C Effect: Yumi's power is to emit electrical discharges from her body. Outside of her suit she can in no way control the output of her eletrical currents, and attempting to use her quirk will create streams of electrical energy running 5-10 meters away from her body, with harmless sparks reaching 10-20 meters, which will do no more than make hairs stand on end. While her quirk does cover a large radius around her, the streams are eratic and slowly shifting, thus, skilled or speedy individuals could potentially dip through the streams and reach the center.
Due to refined control, Yumi's suit has been redesigned to allow for showing of her skin while still creating a closed circuit on her body. She can now choose to unleash her full discharge style attack when in her suit, or more refined, single blasts much like her gauntlets allowed her to, reaching a distance a little over the length of the average school bus, before harmlessly dissipating, but still relies on her suit to use any of her skills and abilities that do not specifically state otherwise. The fact she no longer needs a full body suit also leads to a lot more flexibility in potentially using her quirk.
When 'charged' inside her suit, Yumi's skin is coated in a blue energy, as well as her hair. This is entirely aesthetic mechanically, and creates no more than a small static shock when touched skin to skin at worst.
The damage caused by her electrical streams is a harmful shock that can only be forced through by extremely hardy individuals. Repeated shocks could cause semi-long term chest pains, and potentially heart stopping if charges are recieved repeatedly at full power. With training and practice, her quirk can now cause harsh but healable burns, moderate muscle spasms, and if output is consistant, melt iron quality metals.
As a small side effect of her power relying on burning 'fuel', Yumi constantly maintains a healthy weight regardless of her diet, and even remains fairly fit and toned. Though she needs actual exercise for this muscle to be anything more than 'aesthetic'.
Drawback: Yumi needs at least a second of focus to activate her power in or out of her suit, allowing a brief window for a foe to knock her out or distract her. Outside of her suit, she also cannot use her power for full discharge for 2 consecutive posts. Furthermore, even in her suit, a full discharge will fully cancel out her quirk the next post, removing access to any skills or abilities that rely on her quirk. This leads a discharge attack, even now, to be a kamikaze option with high risk of vulnerability in the following post.
Her in Suit and out of suit power uses are semi-seperate. While her main discharge aspect of her quirk can be used in or out of her suit, she requires her suit to access any gadgets or skills related to her quirk.

Upgrading to: Electro Magnesis // Repulsion Type: Skill / enhancement Rank: D Effect: When charged, Yumi has learned to consistantly put out a repelling force that weakens the force of incoming blows and slows / redirects incoming projectiles. In lamens terms, incoming damage is reduced, and mechanically this skill is just 'flair' for increased durability via the reduction of damage coming in. This skill is only active while Yumi's primary quirk is active. Yumi's repulsive forces are strong enough to faintly weaken attacks of the same rank and exponentially weaken attacks of lower ranks.

Upgrading to: Dart Motion Type: Skill Rank: D Effect: By Outputting specific electrical fields behind and ahead of her, Yumi can dart extremely quickly between two points. Combined with her electro magnesis these points can even be in midair. Dart motion is not tied down to one singular long stream however as Yumi has found this to be both oddly draining and predictable. Instead dart motion focuses on short, zig-zag bursts of the effect to create sharp, fast motions to disorientate and close in on opponents.

Upgrading to: Stamina Type: Enhancement Rank: E Effect: Through a lot of hard work and effort Yumi has managed to get herself physically fit, far beyond the constant fitness maintained by her quirk. She is able to sustain herself in a fight and sustain her own quirk a lot longer than she used to thanks to her fit body, and general experience in maintaining her stamina.

(this is essentially 'E rank durability' fluffed to soften blows rather than enhance her ability to take them)

Looking to just update Yumi to the current app templates. SOme info is changing, primarily just experiences changed by the course of the site, like age, physical appearance on lesser issues, and personality YUMI TASUKAI BASIC INFORMATION Hero/Vigilante/Villain alias: Curved Lightning Player Name: Yumi Faceclaim/Series: Yoko littner / Gurren Lagann Age: 17 Gender: Female Affiliation: Hero / Student (1-C) Height: 177 cm Weight: 60 kg Hair/Style: Red, long and smooth. Usually worn in a ponytail when in class or on the job, but she likes to let it down on her personal time. Skin/Scars: Peach coloured skin, faintly tanned towards the summer but not overly so, not really noticeable unless you compare pictures of her from winter and summer. Very smooth as she likes to take good care of it. Eyes: Amber color and typically nice and wide, but she can turn them to a smouldering gaze if the mood calls. Notables: Anything specific to your character goes here.
APPEARANCE AND PERSONALITY Appearance: Yumi is a fairly curvy girl for her age and takes a nice bit of pride in that, but not overly so. She isn't the kind to rub it in someone's face intentionally at least, she just likes who she is. Her general attire consists of tank tops, baggy shorts, boots, and midrift hoodies. Her hero costume is skin tight and very minimalist, made of an insulating fabric. It also has bulkier gauntlets from her mid forearm down. It has gone through multiple forms and in it's current model as of writing this, is a skin tight top with fingerless tips and a mdrift. She has long legs to it that have light padding in the base of the 'socks' to act as shoes, and optional orange visor headpiece.
Lately Yumi does take more pride in her appearance on a professional level solely due to the fact she has recognized she acts as the face of her class, and while not perfect, will wear her uniform more professionally nowadays compared to the beginning of her year.
Since Joining she has also turned a 'fake' aspect of her toned body gained by her quirk to something harder and far more defined. While no body builder she has a far more athletic build than she used to, while still maintaining a healthy level of fat.

Personality: While confident in herself and enjoying the odd ego-boost, Yumi isn't the kind to rub anything in someone elses face. In fact, she loves seeing other reach their potential, and while outwardly confident, she can be her own worst critic a lot of the time. In tense situations she can be locked into indecision by overthinking her options, but ultimately she'll always try and make the right call for others, even if its a tough call for her personally.
She's very open when it comes to relationships, seeing intimacy, closeness, from cuddling to things of a more sexual nature, as something people should be able to engage in without worry. She will often learn very quickly where a new friends boundaries are as she tends to find herself growing too comfortable too quickly.
Over the course of her time at UA Yumi has adopted some of the traits of her more competitive classmates, and while a contest is never the be all and end all of her existance, she can train much harder and show much more dedication than she ever had in her past. In the face of a challenge she will always push herself to do her best, and will never disrespect the hard work of her classmates with a half effort of her own. She still dosn't have ultimate confidence in the way she holds herself, but the events over her time at the school have left her a stronger person for it. Fully prepared to face what comes ahead of her, and accepting that sometimes she may faulter. No one is perfect. No one should strive to be perfect. They should strive to do their best, and to be comfortable witht he results, so long as they can look themselves in the mirror and smile, that's good enough for Yumi, from herself, or anyone around her.
HISTORY Yumi comes from a family of elemental quirks, with her father having water-bending powers and her mother having the ability to specifically bend gold by shifting it into a liquid form. Unlike her parents however, Yumi herself is not a manipulator of her element, but a generator. As a young child, Yumi struggled with her parents as her quirk developed. Generating mild amounts of elecricity at that age was still difficult, as on more than one occasion, her parents almost dropped her when suddenly zapped by a manifestation of her power.
Of course she gained more control over her quirk as time went on, and by the time she was progressing through school she could turn her quirk on and off at will. Later on even developing a way to focus it to specific parts of her body. All the same, it was a difficult quirk to handle. The only thing she could seem to do with it was push people away, as, even at it's current level, all it could do was force people to jolt away from her.
Yumi was fairly sure that she wouldn't be one of those vigilantes when she grew up, and unless she learned how to charge anything with her power, she knew she wouldn't be of much use with it. Still, she was pretty pleased with who she was. She looked after herself, took care of her body, and, thanks to her power burning her food, she tended to stay in shape so long as she used it every now and then. Really, even if it wasn't exactly what she wanted, her quirk wasn't half bad in the end.
It was only when her quirk truly came in use that she realized, perhaps, it was a bit more useful, and more dagerous than she thought. Having been walking home from class one night at the age of 14, a shady individual had followed her home, catching her in a shortcut she took between two buildings. She didn't know what they wanted, whether just to mugg her or, somehow, more vile intentions, but as they came near her with threatening eyes, she activated her quirk, hoping to jolt them away, but instead activated it at a new level. Her skin shimmering a bright blue she didn't just force them to jolt away, but practically flung them off her feet. She powered down almost immediately, but suffice to say as the shady fellow lay there, she was less than certain what had just happened...or even if they were still breathing.
Luckily for her, he made it, and with some questioning from the police when they arrived at the scene she was let off, though it was advised to her parents that she get some more serious tests of her powers. In time Yumi learned she couldn't return to the lesser version of her power, and while she used to stop people touching her, now it was difficult for people to get near her as the currents jumped the distance between them. Of course, she could still turn it off, but it both excited and worried her that her quirk jumped to such a new level.
In time she'd join the new hero school, which provided her with the gauntlets that helped focus her power somewhat. While she isn't too sure her own power could be all that useful, she hopes to help other students discover their own talents, and either in normal studies or power pursuits, she hopes she can help her fellow classmates with a bit of tutoring if they need it.

Electro Magnesis // Flight Type: Skill Rank: D Effect: Yumi has trained herself to output a harmless electrical current that repels her from the ground, imitating flight. Her body can hoever up to roughly 2.5 storeys off the ground and faintly higher if she pushes herself, travelling as fast as average cyclists. She can scale buildings using her flight so long as she stays close to the surface. Flying off of a high spot will have her rapidly drop in height till she's within her normal range from the surfaces beneath her.
Stamina Type: Enhancement Rank: E Effect: Through a lot of hard work and effort Yumi has managed to get herself physically fit, far beyond the constant fitness maintained by her quirk. She is able to sustain herself in a fight and sustain her own quirk a lot longer than she used to thanks to her fit body, and general experience in maintaining her stamina.
Repulsion Type: Skill / Enhancement Rank: F Effect: By outputting a constant electro-magnetic field as she uses her quirk, Yumi has learned she can soften and even mildly re-direct blows and projectiles. The effect isn't a full on sheidl but merely soften's blows or makes lethal shots just a little bit off target, and a little less deadly. (this is essentially 'F rank durability' fluffed to soften blows rather than enhance her ability to take them)
