Mia yawned, carefully hiding the full display of vicious dentistry behind both of her hands. So tired.. She stretched feeling the vague fatigue that seemed to permeate her entire body, unwilling to let go. One would think that classes involved books and learning, not running as hard as she possibly could or punching as hard as she physically could. Such was the curriculum of this strange school she stayed in, yet before she knew it the place had already become routine. Yawn, stretch, wash up, get dressed, ready school bags, lock dorm room behind her. The routine was too well ingrained by now that she could do it without attributing any particular thought to it.
As she locked the door and prepared to set out, her eyes caught on the door across from hers, one belonging to her neighbor. If the school had been routine, the inhabitant on the other side of that door was anything but. Perpetually interjecting herself into any moment to completely derail the simplicity of it. Mia smiled, a small smile given her specific difficulties involving her teeth, she loved every minute of it you see. Going on all kinds of adventures or getting pulled sometimes figuratively but often quite literally into all manner of situations. Things were never normal or boring when Shouko was around.
The young shark turned and made her way to class reflecting on the most recent 'adventure' they had shared. A plane crash on the mountain side just a month ago had turned both of them into amateur emergency response workers. For her part she had been in charge of ferrying the survivors away from the crash to somewhere safe, a simple task in theory but a difficult one in practice given the sheer number of people. Her dear friend on the other hand had the heroic duty of going to fight some wolves to save one of the passengers. One of Mia's hands made their way to her collar to grip it tightly as she recalled the shape her friend had returned in. Bite marks and blood in various places had the girl limping and even though there was a smile there on her face, her eyes had a sort've haunted look to them. That look had done its fair share of haunting Mia's dreams, but not from horror so much as guilt. Even to this day she was still frustrated with herself for making the choice to stay and continue her duty rather than help her friend.
Conceptually she understood that it was the 'right' thing to do, but her emotions screamed otherwise and her enthusiasm seemed a bit more feigned by the day. Perhaps I'm just not cut out for this.. The thought emerged from the depths of her subconscious yet again, a familiar companion these days. She had plenty of reasons to doubt her capability since entering the school. One could not expect to go from having a maid teaching her everything she knew to a proper school system without a seriously rough transition. Her attitude as well seemed to be nowhere near what the other students seemed to feel and act on. They seriously wanted to go out and do good in the world, while all she wanted was to no longer feel caged in the family manner. This resulted in a lack of proper ambition which stymied all of her efforts to succeed.
She stopped, fished around in her bag for a moment and produced the strange green drink she always made the night before. An unholy mixture of green and healthy that she was forced to consume regularly. Mia took a long pull on the drink, using its nearly 'sobering' powers of unpleasantness to try and shock her system out of the mood she seemed to be developing. It tasted just as awful as she remembered, though she also remembered the time her friend had tried the drink. The swiftly passing plethora of emotions on Shouko's face as she sprinted to the washroom was a memory Mia would cherish for a long time. Equipped with this one happy memory to hold back the storm, she made her way into the class room her composure iron clad as she said her 'good mornings' and took her seat.
Time seemed to move swiftly as Mia fiddled around with her phone checking her messages and sending a few off. All around her people were beginning to disperse from their conversational cliques and take there seat. All the usual seats were swiftly filled, all except one she noted. This seat usually took her attention by force one way or another as the whirlwind of energy Shouko sat there. Yet today this seat was barren. Mia checked her phone's clock, noting the time was getting later and later, soon class would start. Wow, she's really cutting it close today. Mia thought to herself, reflecting on Shouko's nearly perfect attendance record. Sure she had been late from time to time, but she always showed up sooner or later, pretending to sneak into class with all the stealth of a rhino. Just to be sure, Mia sent off a quick text to her friend urging her to pick up the pace a little.
The clock continued to tick down and still there was no Shouko to be found. Mia had taken to keeping a vigil on the door watching earnestly for her friend with mounting worry, she hadn't even answered her text and it had been 10 minutes. Had she slept in or something? A commotion at the door caused her to perk up, but another student merely walked in followed by the teacher. He closed the door behind him and nonchalantly began the lesson oblivious to the situation. Mia couldn't help but sigh. She had done what she could for her dear friend, now she was going to be late. The young shark pried her attention from the door and tried to focus on her school work, but it just seemed to difficult. Minutes passed, nearly half an hour had passed and yet there was still no Shouko. She's never been this late before.. maybe something happened?
This single thought was like the fuse that lit the dynamite. All at once her guilt awakened again, forcing her to agonize over that single question. Maybe something did happen? She already didn't forgive herself for failing to help her friend once, knowing that there might be a second time that was right around the corner was unbearable. I have to go, I just have to be sure. Before she even realized, her mind was made up. There was only one way to silence this guilt. She had to know.
With as much stealth as she could muster, she packed all her things back into her bag, receiving some odd looks from her class mates at the movement. Class was not yet over, but her heart wouldn't take it, she couldn't wait a moment longer. She slid her chair back ever so slightly, slipping out of it silently. Slowly, stealth fully she crawled away from her desk and made it to the door without making any noise. With a swift check to make sure the teacher was looking away, she slipped the door open and slipped out into the hallway. She turned on her heel and bolted back for the dormitory, her heart pounding away in her chest. Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god, I can't believe I just did that!
Behind her, in the class room the teacher pondered to himself. I wonder if she knew she hit every chair on the way out with that tail....
Gasping for air after having run the entire distance between the class and the dorm, Mia stared at Shouko's door with no small amount of trepidation. She waited until she could catch most of her breath before knocking on the door and hailing her dear friend. "Shouko.... are you.... in there?" She should have probably gathered more air before trying to speak. Hearing nothing but silence emanating from the room she reached for the door nob and gave it an experimental turn. Strangely the door opened, it didn't appear to be locked. How many times have I told you to lock your door... She thought, inwardly reflecting on the somewhat routine nagging to try and steady herself.
The room was almost conspicuously quiet, so quiet it drew attention to that fact. Clothing strewn about the place, all manner of things in disarray that one would expect from such a turbulent person, these things seemed to calm Mia a bit. Everything looks normal... except for that. There on the bed was a large rock, or boulder really, shaped much like a coffin or tomb. Mia found herself staring for a moment before remembering what her dear friend had confided in her all those days ago. Every morning, much like a mythical god, her friend would have to break out of a rocky gaol her body had created throughout the night. It would appear, that she had found Shouko after all.
"Oh, um, it's okay Shouko, I'll have you out of there in just a moment." It was fairly obvious from the tremulous nature of her voice that Mia was saying these words more for herself than for Shouko. Her eyes surveyed the room to look for some assistance. Naturally, Shouko had placed some tools nearby that Mia could probably use to help spring her from this unusual jail. The young shark wielded them with all the finesse of a novice that didn't understand the difference between a chisel and a hammer, but she didn't allow that inexperience to stop her. Little by little, small bits of pink flesh were becoming visible as she used the tools to create a more refined outline of Shouko.
Mia wiped her brow, cleaning the sweat which had built up from this surprisingly strenuous task. No doubt Shouko would normally break out considerably faster from within this tomb, but she also enjoyed the advantage of knowing where her limbs were. Mia, with her novice's understanding of sculpting was terrified of accidentally breaking through rock and stabbing flesh or smashing bone. As such she hadn't really made the kind of progress she needed to get the job done. She took a moment to fish out the drink from her bag and took another long pull on the 'excessively healthy' liquid, swishing it about her teeth. It wasn't water, but she was definitely thirsty as she drank more and felt the fluid moving through her mouth.
With a resounding 'thunk' she slammed the drink down, the luminous glow of an idea in her eyes. I'll just use my teeth, then I can feel the moment I'm breaking through the rock and stop. It would be embarrassing to be sure, the notion that she would be using her mouth of all things, but her friend needed help right now and always she was more important. Bracing herself appropriately Mia picked a loose part she had been worried about attacking with a chisel and began to clamp her jaws down. Predictably, when placed before the might of her jaws, the rock gave way. Bite after bite after bite. She attacked relentlessly slowly revealing more and more of her friend with each gnashing of her jaws.
At last, having tested her jaws and polishing her technique for amateur rock breaking on less vital parts, Mia aimed for the head and started to free her friend. She had remembered her friend expounding on the porous nature of the rock and that it would leave her enough air holes to continue breathing. Thus she wanted to be absolutely sure she had the technique down before attempting to free her friend's face. With her mouth aching, her face blushing and her voice wavering she finally greeted her friend to her face. "Good morning sleepy head." Somewhere along the way her worry had turned to relief, and her guilt silenced.

Post by Iwasaka Shouko on Jan 9, 2020 13:22:53 GMT -4
At first, she hadn't even noticed. Or rather, at first, she didn't even wake up. It was that staccato rhythm of fists on stone that usually did the trick, after all. Without that, Iwasaka Shouko was likely to sleep through an earthquake. And today, it never came. Little did she know, the previous day, her roommate had engaged in a training exercise with a professional hero- And had come out much the worse for wear. In fact, she was still trapped in the infirmary as her injuries were seen to. There was no chance of her cracking through that stone shell which encased Shouko overnight. It would be the first time since the year began, that Shouko had missed class. When she learned of that, she'd probably be quite sad, but her perfect attendance award had long since fallen due to repeated tardiness. There was a reason it took so long for her roommate to notice something was up.
However, it was long enough for the girl to wake up naturally. Fortunately, she was no claustrophobe- Despite the darkness which surrounded her, she had no reason to worry. Hadn't she woken up this way each day before joining the school of UA? Her parents often told the story of the day her quirk had awakened, their panic at finding a rock where their daughter should be. But back then, her quirk was hardly as powerful as it was now- Just picking up the infant had caused the rock to crack, revealing the soft skin beneath. Even so, they had dragged her to the hospital for altogether too long, before finally feeling safe in that she could breathe through the stone which covered her mouth.
While at first her parents had to break her out- Over time, the girl's strength grew faster than that of her prison. Soon she was able to break out in a most satisfactory manner- There was just something exciting about bursting free, like a bird from the egg! With that in mind, she had looked up any mythological deities which were said to have been born from a stone... While none truly had, she settled on one in particular as her screenname. But that was neither here nor there. What was relevant, was what came when her body had stopped growing- But her quirk had not. With each passing day, the shell surrounding her grew thicker, and even a touch denser- Bursting free became increasingly difficult. While still possible, it suggested a day when she could no longer do so... Not her favorite thing to contemplate. In fact, her parents' condition for her application to UA- That in addition to accomodation for her dress, she be given a roommate who was capable of and willing to fight through her shell, in the event that she was unable to do so herself.
Why does that matter? Because no matter how hard Shouko strained her muscles, her body did not move. At first, she didn't understand. This shouldn't be a problem, she would just be a little late for class. Had Katayacchi slept in too? Hah, she'd definitely be making fun of her for that one. Another failed attempt at a wriggle. How could this be? She could do this! She could! But her body refused to move. Eh, could it be? Was this... The fabled, sleep paralysis? That was it! It wasn't that she couldn't break out! She just had to go back to sleep, and everything would be fine!
Of course, it wouldn't be that easy. If it were sleep paralysis, she could not feel herself straining against the stone. Feeling that it did not give way. Her nightmares came to life. Had the stone become that much denser overnight? Had she become weaker? Her desparate struggles were rewarded with... A racing pulse, and no more. The darkness enveloped her. Suffocated her. She could breathe but she couldn't breathe. She could struggle but she couldn't move. She. Couldn't. Move.
In the darkness of the cocoon, time lost meaning. How long had it been? Minutes? Hours? Katayacchi. Where was Katayacchi!? She knew her roommate, she wouldn't just disappear! Had something happened to Katayacchi!? Her struggles grew stronger... Or at least, tried to. But the firmness of stone and her own lingering injuries put a stop to that. In the embrace of her own quirk, even wriggling was impossible. Breathing was the only thing she could do- And her breaths quickened. Would anyone notice she was gone? Find her? How long would it take? It felt like... She would go crazy.
The thick stone would insulate her ears, preventing her from even noticing the opening of the door. How had she never noticed how terrifying her own quirk was, before today? But her panic was interrupted, a scraping sound. Something far removed from the powerful smashing which Katayacchi used each morning. But it was hope. Proof that someone was here. After who knew how long. The slight glimmer of hope reinvigorated Shouko's attempts to burst free... A struggle that had obvious repercussions, when one considered the proximity of Mianon's sharp, sharp teeth. But even the way that those dug into her flesh as her leg finally escaped the confines of stone, could not stop her desperate attempts to break free.
But a free leg was just that- And it was fortunate that the mixed flavors of stone and blood in Mianon's mouth did not stop the other girl from attending. Though each freed limb was accompanied by a taste of flesh- It was perhaps fortunate that the shark quirker had not inherited the species' famed lust for blood? However, the desperate struggle held other complications which neither could have foreseen- Dislodging even the stone covering those areas which had been very intentionally avoided. As such, the choice to uncover the face last would lead to a very unusual and rather perverted appearance- Head encased in stone, with the rest of the body as bare as the day it was born.
However, her head was yet covered. And while being able to move again certainly reduced the violence behind those thrashing limbs, Shouko was still trying desparately to free herself. Even as her friend started chewing away at the rocks covering her face. Arms fumbled about the bedside, reaching for a chisel which simply lay beyond reach. In the end, despite the care being taken, how could it end so simply as that? It was the last bite which uncovered Shouko's mouth- Rock which was still warm and wet from Shouko's breath, a very different feeling than that of the rest of the stone prison. And as though the fresh air triggered some reflex, that small head covered save for the mouth would snap upwards. Straight towards the head still pulling away with a mouth full of stone. Red lips would interlock- Unintentionally, to be sure, but unmistakably.
But even if Shouko were one to place much distinction on physical affection, now was not the time! Her hand had finally grasped the handle of the chisel, in time to help finish clearing out the rock- And considering what had just happened... She may have to. However, once the rest of her face was free, long hair streaming down as the rock crumbled from it... It was as though it hadn't happened. Did it really mean nothing to her? Well, it was an accident, but... It was still her first kiss. That super precious thing. Surely she was still just shocked by the mornings events and would freak out later. Or she would forget it had ever happened. It was Shouko, after all.
But in the end, it was her friend's voice that brought her back to reality. At first, the sound sent her twisting towards it's source- Eyes bloodshot and pupils shrunken. Much as she had looked the day she received these injuries. But upon hearing what her friend had to say, even that labored breathing seemed to pause. "M... Mianon?" Came the stuttered voice. An unusual pause for the girl who never seemed to stop. "Mianon, is it really... you?" It was clear she was in a bit of shock. After all, she hadn't even noticed that she was currently buck naked. The only covering on her body, the long hair which would usually be tied up in tails. The quick, rapid breaths became long, rapid ones. She was free, but... For how long? Where was Katayacchi? What would she do after they graduated? She couldn't rely on others forever!
And in the depths of her heart. A voice. That she shouldn't let Mianon see her like this. Not naked, of course, she could care less about that. They were both girls, and all. It was nothing Mianon hadn't seen in the mirror every day, even if Shouko didn't really understand why it was important other than that mom said she must not show her body to others so easily. No, what that littel voice hated was being seen helpless. Weak. Unable to even overcome her own body. But at the same time, a second voice rose. Gratitude. Thankfulness that someone had noticed her being gone... That her friend had, she realized now, gone so far as to bite through solid stone, as she lacked the strength to break through it with her hands.
It was perhaps for the best that she as well, conveniently forgot about how Mianon's quirk could liquefy hers, and would have allowed for a much less accident-ridden extraction. Although no more clothed, unfortunately for the shark. And would it be fortune or misfortune for her, when the nude Shouko found gratitude winning out? Disregarding her current state, the girl would practically leap forward, pulling her friend into a tight embrace. "Mianon... hic... Mianon....! I don't... I can't! Why! What am I going to do!?" Came the tearful voice of a girl who had lost her way.

Mia's methodical approach to the situation was probably the least productive for assuaging her friend's tattered mental state, but it was the only way she could reduce the potential damage her teeth might deal. That she was still causing the occasional minor puncture wound was actually something she hadn't noticed up until this point. Crushing rocks repeatedly with only the strength of her jaw was resulting in more than a few broken teeth and a mouth full of the coppery taste of her own blood. Still, she wouldn't stop until she was done, in a sort've trance as it were, smashing as much stone as she could find. In this mindless devotion to her task, she hadn't realized the last piece of stone she had left had been placed in such a way to block Shouko's mouth. At least she didn't realize until the girl moved that is.
The softest feeling met her lips and Mia was pulled back to reality just in time to have her first kiss taken by the very object of her affections. Compared to the slight heart beat she had before when chewing away on the rock, her heart seemed to nearly stop at the shock of what was occurring, only to begin thundering in her chest. Her face had already been quite colored from the exertion of freeing her friend, yet it still found more room to blush even further. Yet when her friend pulled back, all of the hopeful realities Mia might have longed for came crashing down with the sobering feeling of simple logic. Right. That was probably just a mistake she didn't mean to happen. She still doesn't think of you like that. While Mia's longings may have been persistent she had never once acted on those feelings and as such she was still being treated as a good friend. An utterly depressing state of affairs she had no way of resolving without risking what she already enjoyed with Shouko; A really close friendship.
Thus Mia took a deep breath and tried to calm her heart. She swallowed the blood in her mouth and dropped her teasing line with a slightly too happy smile. Even if it was a mistake she would certainly treasure the memory. Though now that she really took the moment to look, Shouko really seemed to be in a bad way. It was a look she had seen before like that day back on the mountain side, with less injuries and almost the same amount of clothes. Even her voice which was usually boundless and more than a little louder than necessary seemed almost tremulous. So Mia smiled, to calm them both down before she used that same line Shouko delivered to her. "It's alright. Everything is just fine."
Rather than calm her down though, it seemed like those words broke the dam as her friend started to cry and wrapped her arms around her clinging tightly. For her part Mia played the role of good friend excellently, holding her tightly and stroking her hair, while expending every effort to not think about her friend's current clothing situation. "It's alright. I'll come check on you every morning. Oh, and we'll have to train even harder too so we can break you out." If it was truly up to Mia, she would say they train hard enough as is, but experience had shown her that Shouko enjoyed it greatly. Mia wasn't exactly adroit with caring for other people's needs but she was a veteran at understanding Shouko and that was what the situation called for.
"F-for starters though, why don't you get some clothes on?" Mia pulled back from the embrace to look her friend in the eye, which also showed off just how badly she was blushing. The poor girl had reached the upper limits of what she could take in the moment, as she kept her eyes on Shouko's eyes and tried very hard not to wander. This also had the unfortunate effect of making her stare into Shouko's eyes from a distance best measured in centimeters. If it were possible to blush even more, then she would certainly be doing so.

The calming words struck Shouko like a lightning bolts. The same words she had used to reassure her friend on the day she received these injuries. That's right. Everything was okay. Everything would be just fine. It was amazing how such a simple phrase could set that racing heart to rest. The imminent pressure of the situation gone... It was only natural for everything that was left inside to burst forth at once. The fear and sadness, the loneliness and uncertainty. Even if she wanted to look strong in front of her student, in front of her friend... There was no way she could do that anymore! Warm tears soaked into her friend's school uniform as the other held her reassuringly.
However, in typical Shouko fashion, this weakness would only last so long. As the other spoke, something nagged at her head... "Eh? Mianon, your voice..." The other was speaking with a mouth full of broken teeth. How could her speech be unaffected? Pulling ever so slightly away, Shouko finally witnessed the sacrifice of Mianon's ministrations. Blood which dripped from each corner of her mouth. The brunette's heart went from slow to stopped in that moment. "E- Eh!? Mianon, you're hurt!" And looking at the bloody rocks which surrounded her, it was quite clear why. As powerful as her friend's jaw was, it was facing the thickest and most enhanced version of Shouko's own quirk!
Hardly caring for their current state, Shouko would act swiftly. In an action reminiscent of one she had taken before, her hand swiftly shot out to grab Mianon by the chin- If she asked, her friend was definitely going to say it was fine! Without giving the other a chance to respond, that tiny mouth was forced open, giving Shouko a clear view of the devastation- And upon seeing it, that quivering in her eyes was bound to return! "Mianon! Your teeth! Your teeth! They're... For me, you... Eh, shark teeth grow back, do yours?" Apparently, even being concerned was only able to last so long as Shouko's train of thought could remain still. But still, the sight was truly terrible, and Shouko's heart ached to see it... As rare as that was.
She couldn't help but notice one tooth still hanging in, tied to the mouth by a small string of flesh. When she reached her hand in to pluck it free, was it out of concern, or did she just want to look at it more closely? But unlike the last time, her hand would not linger within her friend's maw... Now was neither the time nor place, and so, prize in hand, she would release her friend. And look at her with a heart that sank like a stone. Of all the things Iwasaka Shouko hated, it was causing her friends pain! A hatred that seemed antithetical to her love of combat, but even then... She rarely aimed to injure her opponents more than she could get away with!
Inside a clenched fist, a cracked tooth bit into flesh.
"... You're right. It's not too late to give up! It's just these injuries! Once they're healed... It won't be a problem! Though... I'm afraid to wonder how long this will last, you know?" It was time to face it. "My quirk is getting stronger by the day. And my body is that of a normal human, you know? I... Won't be able to run away from it forever..." It was an unusually solemn tone of voice. The voice of someone confronting a fear they had been ignoring as long as they could. And that besides...
"I'm worried about Katayacchi, too. She's never missed waking me up before, you know!" Shouko knew something had happened! Her roommate had not been here when she slept last night, nor when she woke up this morning! Katayacchi wouldn't just forget! Little did either know, that very roommate was currently recovering in the infirmary, and would be for the next several days. It seemed Mianon's work was cut out for her until then- But that said, hopefully... With a bit more experience, and Shouko to guide her, the next attempt would be much less hectic.
While lost in the frantic health checkup, Mianon's promise was tacitly accepted. Until Katayacchi was found... But wait, if Mianon did it again, wouldn't her teeth break again? Was there a better way? But... Well, they would cross that bridge when they got there.
However, her friend's final words did cause the oblivious girl to realize her current state. "Eh? Heeeh?" She squealed in surprise, then paused. "Eh, but, is it really that big a deal? I mean, it's nothing you haven't seen before." Clearly, Shouko didn't understand the problem. It didn't help that her roommate had a similarly cavalier attitude towards nudity. Rather than putting clothes on, making sure Mianon's mouth was healed was the priority!
Perhaps Mianon would be happy if she knew the exact thing that her crush was putting before clothes. But at the same time, the shark was reaching her last legs as was. So it was fortunate that despite her lack of importance on it, she somehow was convinced into acquiescing. But, as she withdrew her body, she couldn't help but notice- "Ah, I've gotten your uniform all dirty!" Flecks of blood from the bite marks dotted Mianon's uniform- Serving as a reminder of the earlier tussle. Shouko could not help but turn aside in embarassment- In her frantic desire to escape, she was lucky she had not kicked Mianon! Even so, she totally blamed herself for that!
As for Mianon's thoughts upon realizing that not all of the blood she tasted was her own... That was for her to consider.
Frantically, the nude body would rush to her closet. But what she pulled forth was not one, but two of her typical garb! Throwing one of the square fabrics at her friend, "En! You get changed too!" How could she let her friend stay in bloody clothes? After being freed by her? It couldn't be! "Eto, if you don't like the color, I also have it in blue..." Fortunately, the tunic's lack of pants meant it was naturally accomodative towards Mianon's quirk. That thrashing tail which Shouko hardly tried to disguise her gaze towards as she spoke.
"Here, you put it on like this!" Shouko would continue as though Mianon's changing was set in stone- And forcing the other girl to watch her as she draped the thick cloth about her body, despite the others attempts to look every other way.

"My voice?" Mia parroted, only now noticing the changes to her accent that missing a few teeth had caused. There were a few holes in places that shouldn't have any, and while not quite producing a lisp, several of her consonants were blending together. Despite what would normally be quite a crippling dental injury to most people, the young shark was ever so relaxed about the affair. "Oh, don't worry about it, I'm fi-" Much to her surprise and chagrin, her chin had been seized and tilted to open her mouth. It seemed Shouko wanted to take a look inside her mouth.. again. Once more resigning herself to her friend's unusual interests, Mia played the willing victim while ignoring the resemblance to a dentist appointment. There was even the question she would love to answer in greater detail but couldn't because her mouth was being kept open. "uhh huh." She hoped the open mouthed and poorly articulated noise would suffice as an answer about her teeth regrowing until her mouth was once again free. Her tongue swept across the inside of her mouth feeling the shrapnel that had been the ultimate fate of some of her teeth. Even Mia had to admit that she had hurt herself rather badly to get her friend out, but worrying Shouko when she was like this.... it just felt wrong. Besides, even if she did know this would be the consequence she would have taken this path every time. Shouko's arm seemed to be moving up from her chin and suddenly she could feel something tugging or pulling in her mouth. Is Shouko pulling a tooth fragment out of my gums? Mia thought to herself as she endured the tiny bit of pain. When that hand then swiftly retreated with something in her grasp, Mia didn't question it any further deciding rather to use that time to reassure her friend. "It's alright. My teeth will grow back before you know it." The young shark spoke honestly about the matter, not worried in the slightest. She would never consider that her friend had retrieved a souvenir of sorts from her mouth. After all, if Shouko wanted one of her teeth for a necklace or something, Mia would have all too willingly pulled out a fresh one. Mia looked upon her friend with sadness. There was something so very terrible about a Shouko nearly buried by her concerns. It feels like someone doused the sun and removed all the sunny places in the world. The worst part was that no matter how Mia wracked her brain she couldn't come up with something good enough to say. She had never had to seriously comfort someone before, least of all from a very real concern. Shouko's appraisal of the situation was quite accurate, sooner or later her quirk would grow beyond her ability to break out by her own power. "Umm, then I'll help you get out. A-and if not me then Katayacchi, or we'll find someone else. I- um.. we won't just leave you alone Shouko." Mia seemed to pause for a moment, nearly too honest with herself before trying a further comment. "B-besides Shouko, give yourself more credit, I've seen you do all kinds of things that 'normal' humans really shouldn't be able to do." Mia could only hope that might buoy her friend's spirits a bit. "Katayacchi? We'll have to find out what happened to her, I haven't heard anything nor seen her." While Mia didn't exactly keep stringent tabs on where all her class mates and friends of friends were, the absence of Katayacchi had been quite clearly felt today. They would need to get to the bottom of this for sure. If only Mia could blush more than she already was. As it was she simply averted her eyes entirely, in a desperate attempt to keep her eyes from wandering. "It, umm... Well..." Trying to explain why Shouko should be wearing clothes was proving extremely difficult. It's not like she could simply tell her straight out that she didn't want to take advantage of her friend's ignorance to her feelings to gaze at things best left for a consensual relationship. "Oh! well the floor is covered in rock shards and teeth shards and I wouldn't want you to get hurt." Inwardly the young shark congratulated herself on her ingenious idea. Temporarily dropping her guard in her elation she gazed at Shouko, noting that there was a numerous number of tiny little wounds, no bigger than a pin prick decorated with dried blood. Her mind worked overtime to think that these must have been caused by her teeth, and Shouko confirmed it. Her clothes had been covered in several tiny little droplet marks, and many had no doubt ended up in her mouth. It's not like it had tasted any different from her own blood or anything, and if she was being honest with herself the notion of having hurt her friend even while trying to rescue her weighed on her. "Wait what?!" Sadly the present situation didn't give her the opportunity to reflect on how that made her feel. Mia knew all too well what was now expected of her. The last threads of her ability to cope seemed to be fraying rapidly as a lightheaded feeling was fast coming over her. Moments before the outfit even hit her, she had already lost consciousness. Though the balance of a creature with a tail was certainly something impressive as she stayed standing, still as a statue. Then again, all that training with Shouko over maintaining stances was probably a factor as well.

If she noticed the damp muscle which occasionally brushed by her probing hands, Shouko was too concerned for her friend's dental health to mind! Even if she was the type to care about the fact that her fingers were covered in a sticky mixture of saliva and blood. And as her friend's words would support shortly after she finally let go- Even as Shouko watched, the tiny tips of new growth were visible, rising from the gums. As expected, Mianon was the best! Shouko, as usual, could only wonder why her friend was so worried about hiding her mouth from others. It was so amazing, after all! But then, being the only one allowed to see it... Ehehe, having a secret was fun!
Withdrawing, Shouko would move to wipe her slobbery fingers on her clothes- Forgetting that she currently had no cloth on to absorb the wetness. A warm and wet stripe was drawn on her side before she realized what she was doing, and swiftly used her bedsheets as a towel! Ah, she would have to wash those anyways because of her cuts, so it was no big deal! "Ehehe, just like a shark, then! That's my Mianon!" the girl would chirp back, mildly cheered up by the knowledge that the damage would not be permanent. Or perhaps she was running high after being given permission to investigate her friend's mouth as much as she pleased- She hadn't gotten to do that in quite a while, and it was just as refreshing as she remembered! Well, at least, it was when she didn't have to worry about it so much...
But not worrying so much was not the same as not worrying at all. Even if it grew back, there was a lot of blood! It must have hurt! Just because it would heal... Wasn't an excuse to get hurt! Shouko was a girl who never wanted to send others to the infirmary, if she could help it! And Mianon could sense that sadness, hurrying to reassure her. But, since Shouko was still feeling down about Mianon hurting herself to save her... "No! You can't, Mianon!" she would protest. "You can't hurt yourself for my sake!" She would say, quite directly. As for Katayacchi, or other people... Who cared about them! Mianon couldn't hurt herself to help her!
Okay, so that also involved the fact that Katayacchi was strong enough to break through her shell without hurting herself. If Mianon could do that, there wouldn't be a problem! In short, Mianon should quickly get stronger if she wanted to help! But Shouko was in no place to say that, only thinking that Mianon would hurt herself again! But if Mianon hadn't come, who would have rescued her... Gratitude and concern crossed and mixed and made her head feel all messed up!
Mianon didn't know about Katayacchi's fate either, but that was to be expected- She was in the other class, for one. And the school didn't have anything to gain by making it public that the number one hero had nearly crippled a student during a training exercise! "Hm. That's weird!" She would mutter. Katayacchi missing? That was no good at all! But since Mianon didn't know, there were no clues at all! And so... Well, she would worry about it later!
It was perhaps fortunate that Shouko was so oblivious- The slightest inspection would point out that wearing clothes on her upper body would not protect her feet! And from that point, it could be seen that Mianon was just making excuses... But Shouko wasn't someone who would think too much on it! "Ah, good call, Mianon!" Though perhaps the distraction that came about when teeth shards were mentioned was a part of her failure to notice the signs. That was right, after her friend got hurt like that for her sake, putting clothes on was the least she could do! Even if she still didn't understand why everyone hated it so much!
Who knew how she would feel if she knew the reason was the exact opposite of hate.
Her own robe safely fashioned, she looked over to her friend who- Stood like a statue, the cloth Shouko had thrown draped over her head like a sheet ghost. A sheet ghost with no eyes. "Nyahaha, Mianon, how can you watch like that!?" She would laugh. The comedy of the scene lifted her spirits more than any assurance. "Quickly, wear it properly! Ah, you can't have seen my demonstration like that, so I'll do it again... Mianon?" However, her friend stood still, the blanket-like clothing still draped over her. "Mianon?"
The girl, now properly clothed, started to worry again. Was her friend hurt? She hadn't seen anything this bad in her mouth when she checked! No teeth stuck in the roof or anything that might hit the brain but even so her friend's stillness made her mind turn to scary places. Sharks didn't bleed out faster than humans did, did they? "This... This isn't funny, Mianon!" The girl cried, swiping the blanket from her friend's face. To no reaction. And the force of the pull knocked her friend over, prone body falling onto the bed! Shouko's eyes widened with fear and concern!
Her eyes glanced around, lost as to what to do. Her panic at this moment was even greater than it had been that day on mount Fuji- This was Mianon, after all! There was a personal connection that wasn't present when worrying about strangers! Ah! "Mianon!" A voice would resound in the room. Eto, eto... First... The first thing to do. What was it. Lift her onto the bed? Yes, that sounded right. And, support her head with a pillow. Yes, that sounded right. And so Shouko did so, carefully lifting the lower half of her friend from the floor, and gently placing it on the bed. For once, she didn't even look twice at the tail, nor lingered on it overly much as she picked it up as well! But... Eh? In manga, they also left the person on their back, right? But Mianon couldn't sleep on her back, her tail was in the way! And so she ended up rolled onto her side.
But... What next? Ah, ah, she needed to call the infirmary! The nurse! Haruto-senpai! They would know what was wrong! But... She couldn't leave Mianon alone! Eto, eto... They'd talked about this, right? At some point? She needed to... Ah, she could see Mianon's chest moving. At the very least, her friend was breathing. That alone reduced a lot of the panic. Eto, eto. She was breathing, so the next steps weren't CPR or mouth to mouth... Things she had been considering trying. She looked around frantically.
Some time later, she would have calmed down a little- Possibly involving a phone call to the infirmary which reassured her that it was fine. In any case, she was able to breathe a sigh of relief while looking at her friend, and- "En. As expected, it's not good to wear bloody clothes!" The brunette declared more confidently, grabbing the spare tunic which had fallen to the floor in the panic. And, being out cold- Mianon had no way to protest as the buttons of her vest were swiftly undone.
Fortunately for Mianon's modesty, the blood was only surface deep- And so there was no need to remove anything below the outermost layer. As she started to wrap her friend in the brown cloth, Shouko's gaze would linger over the pure white skin... As expected, it wasn't any different from her own! Aside from... The size, she thought, her gaze lingering in a place that would be quite unfortunate were she to be seen looking at. But even that did not give her reason to mind. Was the reason everyone was so uncomfortable found underneath the- Ah, but now was no time to solve that question! If her friend was left without clothes on she might catch a cold! And so, aside from that short pause, Shouko would swiftly wrap the cloth around and around, until her unconscious friend's garment was a mirror image of her own.
"En." The girl grunted, admiring her own handiwork. As expected, it suited Mianon! Now she just had to wait for her to wake up... Maybe she should call the infirmary again?

The moment the outfit was removed from it's unusual resting place Mia's body started to fall down in a similar manner as a tree being felled. Thankfully she would have no recollection of any of this as her body landed softly upon the waiting bed, a suiting place for the abyss of unconsciousness. Her body was then positioned in a more comfortable manner on the bed with her head on the pillow her hair askew from the movements.
Mia could feel herself being adjusted and moved about. It was an odd feeling, as consciousness teased at the edges of her mind, her eyes fluttering slightly. The sights they were taking in were simply unbelievable, impossible, there was simply no way. Her dear friend was leaned over her, and her hair was down while her hands were doing... something. Mia couldn't really tell, she wasn't even close to being lucid. God, I love it when her hair is down. mmhmm, what a nice dream.. Her eyes fluttered closed again as more time passed outside.
In her mind, consciousness mixed with dreams and her mind reviewed some of the things she had seen that day. The young shark had witnessed quite a few things that day, though of course one stood out by quite a margin. As her mind played out the scene again before her eyes, her mind shamelessly revealed what she really thought. Which would have been fine, if she didn't occasionally mutter things in her sleep. "mmmmhhhh, Shouko.... soo... beautiful....... love you..." This of course spoken without her knowledge, and would be normally quite difficult to hear. If the object of those feelings were not hovering over her at the moment redressing her.
Mia's eyes would flutter once again as she came to, without any knowledge of what had transpired. Her hand swiftly shot up to her mouth to cover her dentistry, a clear display of her growing consciousness. "Mhm, such a lovely dream." She yawned into the hand only now noticing some important changes to her scenery. "Wha... huh.. Shouko?! What am I doing here? Did I hit my head or something?" Her memory was slowly trying to brief her brain on how she had ended up in this room. She remembered breaking out her friend, and her friend's... exposure.. but there was nothing after that, just a lovely dream. In typical Mia fashion she immediately assumed the blame and started to apologize. "I'm sorry, I must have fallen asleep or something." Her gaze wandered downward a bit, noting an unusual color scheme on her body. "W-why am I wearing your clothes?" Her voice adopted a tremulous tone that displayed her shock at the current situation, though her true feelings were broadcasted by her tail. The appendage happily swished as quickly as it could on the bed, as the blush started up once again on her cheeks.

It was the mention of her name that caught Shouko's attention. "Eh? Mianon, you woke up?" Came the natural question... But the prone girl simply continued her delirious mumbling. The brunette kneeling over her friend's body paused as she listened... Mianon was someone who talked in her sleep? What fun! Eto, she'd said Shouko's name... What was the dream about? But unfortunately- Or perhaps fortunately- for Mianon... Even if she heard all of the words said, Shouko would never consider their meaning. That is to say, being given two and two, Shouko was someone who would get... 22. Of course, a large part of this was her continued failure to understand what love was.
That said, she had already stored the words Mianon spoke in her memory, and resolved to tease her with them as soon as the other awoke!
Despite her resolve to not take advantage of Mianon's current lack of consciousness to resolve her curiosity, there were some things that Shouko couldn't avoid finding out! For example, that while her tail had the roughness of a shark's skin, the rest of her body was smooth! That compared to Shouko, she was at least one size up! Hmm, did size have to do with the reason people were so insistent on having her put more clothes on? But guys were even smaller than this and they went shirtless all the time! There was the fact that Mianon sleep talked- of course, and that she thought Shouko was beautiful. That she loved her was, of course, a given! Though the love Shouko was thinking of was different. And, last but not least... Aquamarine with snowflakes.
That last one naturally stuck in her mind, considering she spent even longer looking at it than at it's matching upper counterpart. The hole through which her friend's tail passed was needlessly captivating! Just a thin cloth between her and that eternal question of how the human and animal anatomy intersected... Of course, the other things which lay hidden beneath the same cloth, where far beyond her consideration. And so it was fortunate for Mianon that, with a gulp of determination, Shouko stuck by her decision to not sate her curiousity!
And once the cloth had covered the offending bits, even the urge to check was lessened. With no other complications, and even the silencing of the sleep talk, it was swiftly that the robe was donned. And not a moment too soon, for no sooner had Shouko retreated to her desk to retrieve her camera- Obviously, this moment should be recorded- than Mianon's voice sounded out behind her. Whirling around with her camera... This time, Mianon was actually awake! She was sitting up and everything, and covering her yawn with a hand! Drowsiness could still be seen in her eyes!
Naturally, with Mianon awake and so much time having passed, Shouko no longer displayed any of the panic she had shown when her friend first passed out. "Nyahaha, thanks, Mianon! I love you too!" The girl would release the words she had been saving, as she dashed back to the bedside and threw her arms around the sleepy shark. Her words would reveal that she heard Mianon talking in her sleep, and knew that... That lovely dream, was about Shouko being beautiful! Being called beautiful, how could Shouko not thank her friend? Fortunately for Mianon, that was as far as Shouko's reading into the dream went.
"En, you scared me!" would come the response to the other's confusion. "You passed out standing up, you know! Nyahaha, didn't I tell you? If your stance is right, you can stay upright forever without getting tired! Even if you aren't awake, you'll stay upright!" Shouko couldn't help but add. Well, she was the one who taught Mianon the proper posture! Looking at it that way, the fear aside, wasn't it proof that her teaching was holding! Shouko couldn't help but grin at that, and hug her friend just a little tighter.
As for the clothes- "Ah, that reminds me!" Her hug would turn one handed as she twisted Mianon's body next to her own. "Say cheese!" She would announce, clicking the camera's button before her friend had a chance to figure out what was going on. Nyahaha, selfies were fun! She couldn't wait to show this one to Ayamini, the girl who had taught her what a selfie was.
The two girls in matching clothes made for a cute picture, especially with Mianon's expression showing how unprepared she was for it!
"Ah, right." But her friend had asked a question and Shoukowagon would oblige! "I couldn't just let you sleep in bloody clothes, you know! Besides it's just not right to sleep in your school uniform!" Nodding sagely, Shouko looked over her friend. As expected, it suited Mianon! "Don't worry, I've got more than enough of them!" A whole closet full, to be precise! "You... don't like it?"

Mia's heart rate seemed to triple, and then triple again for good measure. With her eyes still bleary suddenly opening about as wide as they could get she almost felt faint again. Did she really hear that right? She looked at her friend with wonder, with hope, with in-suppressible joy and then she remembered who she was looking at. This was Shouko, and Shouko's obliviousness was at once her most endearing feature and also the feature that stymied her every effort. As such she slowly managed to calm her heart a bit and look at things a bit more rationally. This lasted right up until she got to the end of the sentence. "Wait! What do you mean 'too'?"
Mia relished in the warm hug, still not entirely sure what had happened in the last few minutes as she held on. The explanation she received was certainly odd, she had never just fainted before like that. She tried to mentally play back what she could remember before everything went dark, and before that lovely dream. Shouko had been changing, then demanded she watch.... Like clockwork her face flushed greatly and she quickly tried to focus on something else, anything else really. This would probably be easier if the very person she was thinking of wasn't currently engaged in a tight hug with her. Shouko's hug seemed to almost slip in it's grip and so Mia started to release her, taking that to mean that the hug was finished, regretably. However her friend slipped in next to her and wiped out a phone from... somewhere. The flash captured a very confused Mia, comically unprepared for the surprise selfie she had just been a part of. Her eyes had still been on Shouko, filled with confusion at where that phone had come from and her face still covered in crimson. Getting there a second too late, she responded with the requested comment. "Oh, um, Cheese." It's not like she had never been in a photo before but rather her brain was still waking up and smelling the Shouko coffee as it were. Mia pondered for a moment on the potential implications of two friends wearing very similar clothing on a tousled bed and decided she could certainly live with that. Even if it intensified the blush upon her features and made her heart pound a little. Actually for that matter, how had she even ended up in these clothes? Thankfully her dear friend filled in the gaps a little bit leaving Mia to wonder why it was acceptable to her friend to change her clothes for her. She smiled ever so slightly, a Mia sort of smile, at her friend's apparent concern and thanked her. "Thank you for your... concern, I wouldn't have wanted to get blood everywhere either. Oh, don't worry, I love it." She really did enjoy wearing the interesting outfit, even with the specific details out of the way it was rather cozy. Her tail could thrash till her heart was content without having any sort of problems and it seemed to even have pockets if she could just find them. She giggled softly to herself, "It feels like I should be out training or something, but maybe later."The young shark recovered quickly from her nearly dug hole. One does not mention training in front of Shouko unless one wants to train, otherwise it would swiftly begin. Her eyes gazed upon the various items in the room trying to swiftly come up with a new subject before she was spirited away for more training. It's not like she wasn't interested in training, but given that she had just passed out, that might not be too healthy. Her eyes alighted on a number of different objects in the room until she saw something interesting. "What's that?"

A cheeky grin spread across Shouko's face as she couldn't help but tease her friend- That's what friends are for, after all! "Nyahaha, Mianon, did you know you talk in your sleep?" A tongue was stuck out. But it was unclear how much Shouko had heard! Obviously she heard the last part... But the rest? "But it's true! I love you thiiiis much!" Currently engaged in the hug, Shouko swiftly nuzzled her cheek up against her friend's. It was a display of affection one might expect from a cat or a dog... And as such, only highlighted that the two were thinking of very different loves. But it did not seem likely that would change anytime soon!
The combination of her bright red face and the obvious confusion left the final picture mildly comical. So, of course, as soon as she checked it... Shouko pulled her friend in tighter, put the camera out again, and clicked the shutter several more times! Cackling madly all the way! "Ahahaha, Mianon! You should see your faaace!" She chuckled, ignoring the other's embarassment. Which was probably for the best, as if she stopped to think about it, she would probably mistake the hot blush for a fever!
"Nyahaha, don't worry about it, Mianon! That's what friends are for, after all! Plus, you look super cute in it!" The thumbs up was slightly awkward, considering the rest of her hand still held the camera. But it got the point across. "En, as expected, Mianon is the cutest!" It was a careless word, perhaps inspired by the words she had heard in her friends sleep... And yet, as much as they would not help that redness that refused to go away, they were words from the heart!
But they would be swept away by one of Shouko's favorite words. If the girl had a tail, it would be sweeping as much as Mia's own... "Nyahaha, that sounds like fun! The festival is just around the corner, you know!" Her excitement about this was enough to completely forget about her terror of just minutes before. "Hehe, I can't wait! You'll be signing up too, right? Right?" Shouko's eyes, wide and pleading, looked at her friend. "Nyahaha, you've always been so low key, but I know! You're super strong, Mianon! Everyone is going to be so surprised!" It was taken as a given that Mia was going to be signed up... And considering the other's personality, perhaps she wasn't wrong to do so.
Alas, Mianon quickly corrected herself. Was it her imagination, or would Shouko's twintails themselves seem to be sulking at the putting off? But not for long, as another interesting topic came up! "Eh? What is it, Mianon?" The girl would tilt her head as she followed her friend's gaze to her computer desk. It was about as organized as one would expect from Shouko- And the screensaver played clips of various matches Shouko had filmed! But... As much as Shouko wanted to talk about those, they weren't what her friend was interested in...
"Heh? Oh, those? Nyahaha, that brings back memories!" Finally releasing Mianon, Shouko would practically roll off the bed- While still landing on her feet, of course. Several items of interest were retrieved from the desk! "Ehehe, did you know? Back in middle school, they called me the BaeBlade Queen!" A proud declaration, but no more sensible than anything else she had said.
What is BaeBlade, you might ask? Well, the objects the girl would offer to her friend were- A set of metallic disks. No, tops, ending in a point. But if that were all, they would hardly hold anyone's interest... Probably. However, each composed a complete unit! "Hehe, see! By putting together the pieces," She took one apart to show how they locked together. "The transparent layers let you customize your Bae as well as your Blade!"
As for what each was, it was fairly obvious... The Bae was the anime-style girl emblazoned on the first ring, while the ring itself was the Blade! "Nyahaha, with these trusty partners, I can't possibly lose!" Naturally she smiled as she showed off her collection. "En, this here's my rarest one! They only sold 200 of them, you know!" She would bring one out. "Nyarlato, the demon goddess of chaos! Her special ability shakes the entire board! Well, if you have the Special Challenge Theater, which is compatible with special effects..."
But her rarest was hardly her favorite, and she quickly showed off more! "And this one's from the Infinite Armatage collab!" As one of Shouko's long time favorite shows, she naturally collected the full set! "Nanika and the Alphest Blaster! Of course, the Alphgest Blaster is an attachment type, but it's true power can only be shown when paired with Nanika! Oh, speaking of which, the Armatage Collab 2 should be coming out soon... I hear they'll have Haruki and the Beaton Rougette!" The girl's enthusiasm was plain in her voice. But did she have the money to spend on a hobby with such Gacha-esque qualities?
"But here's my favorite of all! By pairing Enya, Hells' Soveriegn, with the Flame Attachment!" She showed a raven-haired girl, with an attachment piece overlayed on top such that the base form appeared to be wearing a dress made of flames. "Hehe, speaking of the flame attachment, isn't it cool? The way the artwork blends into the blade!" As it did, the ring of the blade bearing the appearance of lapping flames. "Have you ever played, Mianon?"

Mia was having a rough couple of moments. The knowledge that she apparently talked in her sleep was mortifying, compounded by the knowledge that she had been honest about her feelings to her friend. Though, it seemed that as usual Shouko didn't quite understand the severity of the words 'I Love You'. That was a little disheartening, Mia had to admit, but her friend's unabashed friendly affection was still enjoyable. She had barely gotten over that little heart attack when her likeness was captured by the phone camera in her friend's hand. Thankfully Mia had the good sense to have her mouth closed but the blush on her features was apparent. Verdammt! She cursed, internally chastising herself for her swiftly shattered composure whenever Shouko was involved. Her heart simply refused to calm down. She struggled to reclaim some degree of control over herself, only to fall completely apart upon hearing her friend call her the cutest.
"Eeeehhh?" This little declaration cranked her heart rate to the max as her tail put on a rather impressive and frenzied thrashing. While her outward appearance seemed entirely flustered, internally she was on cloud 9 with a dash of purest bliss. Ohmygodshecalledmethecutestahhhhhhhh!! She screamed her joy in the confines of her mind, happily cherishing the moment.
Perhaps still in the haze of happiness such a thing had brought her, Mia happily swayed back and forth while listening to her friend gush over the idea of the festival. So much so that Shouko's question caught her off guard. "Oh, um, Yes." If she was being honest with herself she really didn't care much for the idea but there was simply no denying the Shouko. If she didn't sign her name on application, Shouko might just do it for her thinking she had simply forgotten. "Oh, I don't know about that, but I'll try my best." This was admittedly one of the more problematic issues between the two. Shouko's entirely unshakable faith in her that wasn't based in anyway on reality. It was incredibly endearing but also rather troublesome by nature since the young shark firmly believed in her own inadequacies.
Living up to her name, the young Fischer had managed to interest Shouko in the bait she had provided for a topic change. "The baeblade queen?" Mia parroted back to the girl, not understanding in the slightest. Admittedly she still didn't understand until Shouko had begun to pull the tops apart into their specific components. The shark looked on with interest at the anime pictures and the rings they seemed to interact with. She had of course played with a spinning top once or twice in her life, but nothing as intricate or with as many parts as this. Her aquamrine eyes took in not only the tops but also the delightful expression on Shouko's face of excitement and nostalgia. It was really quite a charming picture.
"Wow, it really sounds quite involved..." Mia's voice carried her amazement quite well at the many different types and combinations. Naturally all the terms meant nothing to her lack of understanding but she made an effort to remember the names, mesmerized by the elegant beauty of Enya and her blazing dress. "It really is rather beautiful... Oh, no I haven't played before. Is the point to see how long they spin for?" Mia's ignorance was on full display but she doubted her friend would see it as anything except a chance to educate about her hobby. Behind those blue eyes, the gears of Mia's mind were beginning to think of things.

Noding sagely at her friend's shocked exclamation, Shouko doubled down on her conclusion. "En! Like that! See!" She teased... or tried to, but she was nowhere near as talented at the teasing tone of voice as Karirin, so perhaps it wouldn't come across as quite so much of a joke... Especially when she could not help but pull her absolutely adorable neighbor into another inescapable embrace, rubbing up against her bright red and rosy warm cheeks. Ironically, because such blushing was simply her friend's usual state when they were together, Shouko simply thought Mia's face was naturally red, and never once would imagine that this was an abnormal state.
Not that she would stop if she knew. She hadn't said anything wrong, after all! Mianon was even cuter than Kiraboshi-chan, that white whale she had never attained after buying an embarrassing amount of boosters!
However, that was not to say that Shouko's mind was entirely pure! For instance, even as she held her friend, she couldn't help but notice the thrashing tail which mussed up the bedsheets. That beautiful, shimmering mass of muscle coated in rough scales... Her fingers would wiggle as they often did when looking at quirks she simply wanted to feel up... A mannerism which may be a bit ticklish given the current situation. But it was an unconscious reflex that Shouko may not even notice even until it was too late!
But that was besides the point. The point was, that even knowing her friend didn't like having her tail touched, she still wanted to try! If that didn't make her a bad person, she didn't know what would! Were the true thoughts of a purehearted girl who had an abnormal fascination with quirks.
Well it was only natural, but Shouko was still happy to hear her friend and student say it out loud~ "Mhm mhm!" She would agree emphatically, assuring her friend that, "You're going to do great! We'll show them the power of my Yaogun and your Ambush Predator style! Ah, no, that's right, you named it uh... <<Die Razor Eye>>!" The girl mispoke, her heart in the right place, but the German pronunciations tangling her tongue. "Blech, let me try that again! <<Dee Lasering>>" For what it was worth, her attempts showed that she wasn't simply misremembering her friend's style's name... She just couldn't pronounce it. Which was slightly better, probably?
In any case, Shouko was nonsensically optimistic about everything... And above all else, as the one closest to Mianon of all... Knew that her friend's strength was not to be underestimated! But in reality, from a point of view beyond both girls... Using Shouko as the standard, it was no wonder Mia felt such inadequacy. All of her experience came from training with one of the year's strongest students, hardly a representative of her typical opponent in the sports festival! While there were those stronger yet, Mianon was relatively closer in strength to Shouko's expectation than her own.
"That's right! Undefeated!" Shouko flashed a v for victory, apparently having released her friend at some point before the other passed out again. "Oh, you haven't heard of Baeblade?" The girl would suddenly pause, realizing just what part of it had confused her friend. "Oh, Baeblade is a collectible top game! Like Duel Disks!" She named another popular brand. But it was no use. She would have to start from the top. "En, but I prefer Baeblades, see? DD is all about mythical creatures, dragons and manticores... Baeblade is way cuter!" It was an unusual confession for the girl who seemed like she would typically prefer the other. But cuteness was justice, after all!
Her friend was as quick on the uptake as usual, though, and upon seeing the parts soon got the idea. "En, almost! You and your opponent each launch your Baeblade in a concave arena which forces them to meet at the center, and the last Blade standing wins!" The rules were quite similar to the other game of its genre. It was amazing there had been no copyright issue. "Eto, I should have one around her somewhere... Nyaha, this has given me a hankering for a match!" Shouko offered, but the way she already stared towards the closet suggested it was perhaps a bit more set in stone than her words implied.
Should the other be so inclined, Shouko would retrieve a box containing both the stadium, and a number of other Baeblades from which to pick out her personal favorite lineup. Whereas were she to refuse... Shouko probably wouldn't cry?

The sound of Mia's giggles filled the air at her friend's attempts to pronounce the name she had given her style of fighting. Given that it was in german this could be a bit expected but the results of her trying were really too funny to hear. She tilted her head, enjoying the rare moment of before giving her an easier word to work with. "Well, it's basically 'the frenzy', referring to a shark's feeding frenzy." She chose not to mention how many times she had repeated Yaogun in the comfort of her own room before she could confidently say the word without fumbling. Suffice to say.. it had taken a very very long time.
Mia repeated Shouko's V right back to her, but she didn't feel nearly as confident. Her friend's unflinching faith in her felt like a terrible mounting pressure. Not the pressure over the actual fighting, but rather the stress of not living up to that expectation. Shouko had spent countless hours with her teaching her how to properly use her strength but she still couldn't hold the faintest candle to her friend and mentor. Not that I particularly mind losing to Shouko but, I've never held back.
The young shark shook her head, answering Shouko's question about baeblades and at the same time clearing her mind. She focused quite hard on the complicated tops thinking up an interesting scenario in her mind. "Yes, girls are much cuter indeed." Mia agreed quite readily having a particular interest in that subject line. Ah, so they smash against each other till one wins. Of course it comes down to fighting when Shouko's involved. She really should have expected that, yet for some reason seeing the cute girl pictures, fighting hadn't immediately occurred to the young shark's mind. Regardless she made the mental preparations to jump into the fray.
"If you don't mind my inexperience, I would like to try playing. Do you have any that have.... long reddish-brown hair, tied up in twin tails, maybe with a martial arts kind of look? That would be my favorite." Mia smiled slightly, relishing in her momentary ability to do so as she asked Shouko if she had one that looked.. basically like Shouko. Her tail swished behind her rapidly as she wondered if the extremely obvious would sail over the entirely oblivious Shouko yet again. Her dear friend was so very very oblivious to the way she felt about her, despite her best efforts. To be honest, I don't even know if Shouko is into girls in the first place?
So Mia decided she was going to find out this vital detail, even if her entire skill at clever plots and plans could be summed up with the word 'nonexistent'. She slid off the bed and adjusted her borrowed outfit, rallying all of the courage she could muster towards this endevour. Her face automatically picked up her blushing without missing a beat as she started to figure out just how to go about asking this vital question.

Shouko pouted at her friend's dismissal of her efforts. "I knew that! You explained it to me when you came up with it, after all!" She insisted, though her daily behavior... Certainly made it reasonable to expect she had. However! Even if she would forget her homework without a second glance, and occasionally slipped up on the nicknames she had given people! When it came to martial arts, she wouldn't forget that easily! That settled it. When she had a chance, she'd be taking this sadness out by teasing Mianon some more! Hmm hmm!
As for how she planned on doing that, she had no clue. But one thing was for certain: Iwasaka Shouko was not very good at teasing.
But before she could settle on a plan- Simply calling back to the sleep talking was cold and unoriginal- The topic changed. Shouko's head tilted at the assertation that girls were cuter, which wasn't quite the same as what she had said... But, after clearly spending a moment thinking on it, she would nod. "En, girls are cuter!" However, as she was looking right at Mianon with a serious expression as she said so... Her earlier assertation that Mianon was the cutest would surely come to mind. "Nyaah, but as expected, the real thing is even cuter!" See, teasing was easy! Shouko grinned cheekily, awaiting the fluster she anticipated... Unaware of how serious she had sounded in saying so.
Of course, she was telling the truth. Mianon was super cute! It was just, her friend had a certain appreciation for cuteness that Shouko simply wasn't privy to, and her words would thus hold more weight than intended. Unfortunately for the panicked hopes of the silver-haired shark... Shouko simply didn't think of other people in that way! Cuteness was cuteness, but in the first place... If the word yuri came up, the first thing Shouko would think of is the flower! And then any characters from her anime with names like that! But if that wasn't enough... Even before her opinion of same sex relationships, the brunette hardly had had the idea of dating explained to her before! Worse, the few attempts at doing so had left her with distinct misunderstandings...
In summation: Poor Mianon.
However, any thoughts of teasing would make way to sheer, unadulterated joy as her friend said she was willing to play! "Yahoo!" Exclaimed Shouko excitedly! The saying went, it was lonely at the top. As the school's Baeblade queen, let alone since coming to UA... She hadn't played in years! No one was willing to challenge her. Mostly because the fad was niche at best, and her classmates preferred stupid duel disks. Harrumph. In any case...
":Of course I do! She's right here! Nyehehehehe!" Shouko would say, but... Instead of pulling out a Baeblade, or even just an unassigned Bae, she would begin twirling in place. Apparently she was astute enough to recognize that she was being called out! Even if she still failed to understand the meaning behind it... The brunette would spin faster and faster, her twintails flying out into air. She probably could have stopped but... Nyahaha, this was fun! Up until she had spun one too many times, and world spinning, would stumble forward. Which would normally be fine, if she hadn't ended up facing towards the bed where Mia still sat.
The result was inevitable.
"MMm... soft~" The yet disroiented girl would murmur from a position which could best be called compromising.
However, all good things must come to an end, and this was no exception! By the time Mia would have grasped what exactly had happened, Shouko would already be bounding back to her closet, digging through for yet another case of parts. "Ehehe, sorry! I only had my main ones intact, so we'll have to assemble a team of three! Don't worry, I'll help!" The parts would be unceremoniously dumped on the floor, Shouko attempting to sort them... Before promptly giving up and looking up to her friend expectantly. "En! The two core parts of any Baeblade, are the Bae and the Blade! Subdivided, the bae is composed of the girl and an attachment piece! Like how my Enya has the Flame Attachment!" Shouko would quickly grab some examples from her collection. "Eh? Oh, I forgot I had this one!"
As opposed to her very guided lectures on martial arts, Shouko's attempt to explain how to assemble a Baeblade was wrought with distractions. In the end, when it came to martial arts... She was already distracted by the thing most likely to catch her gaze!
