As with many of the things Iwasaka Shouko came up with, it came out of the blue. "Mianoooooon!" The familiar voice would cry, a relatively common occurrence in UA's dorms. Shouko's friendship with her neighbor was well documented, if only because the former lacked any form of restraint and would call out to her at any opportunity. But today would be more than a platonic hug and internal struggle against feeling up that thrashing tail- Today, Iwasaka Shouko, had an idea! Now, normally this was a phrase which would send the infirmary scrambling to prepare, and fellow students cowering in fear of her over-exuberant advertisement of a overly high-scale training exercise. But today, was different!
"Let's go do karaoke, Mianon!" Came the exuberant cry. Where had this come from? Eh, she had probably gotten excited by the insert songs in one of her favorite shounen shows. Or perhaps she had just gone so long ostracized due to her frenetic attitude, that now that she had a friend, she wanted to experience those typical episodes of a slice of life show. Or, more likely than that, it was both at the same time! But with those wide innocent eyes staring deep into her own, was there really any chance that Mianon refused? That is to say, was it really a question to begin with. No was not a word understood by Iwasaka Shouko when she was most determined!
However, if Mianon were to mistake this as an invitation to a date in a soundproof room- She was destined to be disappointed. After all, even as she recovered from the sudden question, Shouko would already be out and about- Hunting for others to drag into this sudden endeavor. Would anyone be interested? After all, it was rather short notice. "Hey, hey, up for some karaoke? HMM?" She would call out to everyone she saw- Whether she was familiar with them or not. Naturally, most would reject her on the spot... Not that such a thing would stifle the energetic girl!
Eventually, having either succeeded or failed in gathering victims, the merry crew would set forth! For the holy land of Akihabara, land of electronics, games, anime, hobbyists... Maid cafes... General nerd culture! And of course, karaoke booths! With Shouko along, the train ride would never be uneventful- Especially not for Mianon. If only because there was no guarantee anyone other than her would be there with them. "Ufufufu... This is going to be fun, Mianon! Do you know what you're going to sing yet?" Shouko would pester the girl beside her... And probably anyone else as well.
However, aside from the usual chatter of high schoolers, nothing on the train would interfere with their plans for the day- Except perhaps, luring in an innocent bystander to come along. As bad of an idea as that sounded, Shouko was never one to be concerned by that! Naturally, this would be the perfect time for any participants in this venture to introduce themselves- And with Shouko along, by the time 30 minutes had passed, they would all be being treated like old friends.
In time, the victims and their kidnapper would arrive at their destination- A completely normal karaoke place, the likes of which could be found all over Tokyo. As the leader of this expedition, Shouko would naturally pay for the booth! With... The last... of her meager spending money... If she looked a little teary eyed after handing over the bills... Could anyone blame her? In any case, the money was enough to cover the room for the time they needed, and the attendant would direct them to a room appropriately sized for their group.
That is to say, it wasn't very large. Which also meant that it wasn't very expensive- There was enough room for as many as five people, but a sixth would be pushing it. A large screen took up one side of the room, with a couch opposite. And of course, a table for drinks and snacks- Which could be ordered off the menu at prices that almost seemed reasonable. Almost. But Shouko was far too excited to think about refreshments. "Alright! It's Karaokeeee!" She cried out loud, as if to test the soundproofing of the room- Of course, if she actually wanted to do that, she should have waited for the door to be closed. Whirling to her friends. "So! How do we decide who goes first? Janken?" She would ask immediately. It was clear that she had both never done this before, and was very excited. Was anyone more experienced along to guide this poor soul with more enthusiasm than practice?
