Morning... When one of the walls of the living room is made entirely out of glass, it is hard to miss what time of day it is. Although winter was approaching and the sun rose and set later and earlier, sunrise was still a pretty good way to tell when morning had come. Byeol-Su wasn't in the living room of course. The hotel room was nice enough to have three bedrooms--though his, at some point, had been turned more into an office for him than a bedroom--and she could only see the sliver of sunlight from under the door. She rose up and stretched her arms over her head with a squeaky yawn. It was very cold both in her room and outside but that didn't bother her, not even a little.
She turned her body so her feet dangled off the edge of the bed and began to change her shape around. A longer "dress" instead of "pajamas", her hair becoming more solid and neat, her facial features and limbs readjusting to their "normal" positions and sizes after getting a little wild during sleep. When she was presentable she hopped off the bed, pulled the sheet up so it looked a little more made than not, and grabbed a bottle from off the table next to the bed as she went to the door and pushed it open.
"Iseuuuuuuuuul!" Byeol-Su was already quite loud for the morning, having all her energy from the moment her eyes opened as children somehow did. Her Korean echoed off the high ceilings and open concept of the hotel's living room. "Iseuuuul, are you awaaaaake yet? I need help with the cap!!"The room was empty. Shocking. Not really. She padded over to the fully stocked kitchen with the sounds of clay on tile and wooden flooring, poked a trio of buttons she had memorized on the instant coffee/tea making machine. She then reached all the way up to the cabinet without even going on her tip-toes--sometimes having arms that could extend like rubber had its mundane uses--to grab a gray mug. She set it on the spot the tea would come out, hit the fourth button, and then turned towards the still quiet and still empty room. Huh. He hadn't stumbled out yet...was it because...Not again!Crossing the unnecessarily wide room she went to the bedroom he should be in, if he were here at all. He didn't say he was going anywhere last night had he? She usually remembered when he did, but sometimes he was too quiet and she was too tired to wake up at the sound of the door opening. She tapped on the door with her fingers sharpened to claws, because if she didn't her skin was too soft to actually make a sound against the wood. No sound came from inside, which...wasn't unusual, but it was always funny when it did happen. Byeol-Su snickered and called out again from right outside his door: "Iseeeeuuuuuul, your alarm is not going off! Did you let the phone die again?? Did it break?? Help me with the cap, Iseuuuuuul!!"
This was a normal morning.

The eerie silence continued for a few more seconds. Then, upon the girl’s second shout, there was a heavy thump on the other side of the door. It was followed by indistinct grumbling, then, a mumbled response of
“Be right there!”
Light footsteps, and the sound of movement followed, then the sound of running water from the bedroom’s private bathroom, and a toilet flushing. Then, nearly five minutes later, the door cracked open.
On the other side stood a slender man with salt-and-pepper black hair that had been slicked back with water a few moments ago, demonstrated by the fact that it was still dripping, and there were more than a few flyaway strands in the back. He was wearing traditional japanese pajamas, a flowing robe that covered him from neck to ankles, and, as always, sunglasses, neat black frames like a jazz musician from a century ago, black and big enough to completely cover his eyes from every angle. And much like Byeol-Sul, he didn’t look well.
It could have been mistaken from tiredness from a distance--that was certainly part of it, at least, dark bags in the bronze skin under his eyes. But among the bags were ugly, dark veins, like underneath the sunglasses, his eyes were inflamed.
Iseul’s quirk was always worse in the morning.
“I must have hit sleep.” He murmured in apology to Byeol-Sul, a faint smile on his lips. It crinkled the thin lines around his mouth, signs of his age. It was hard to tell exactly how old Iseul was. He could have been thirty, or fifty. Maybe even sixty, but not more; he had a quirk. He was still spry, but there were little signs here and there made him seem older.
“Though I do not remember, certainly.” He elaborated, looking down at the girl, as calm and serious as though they were at a formal meeting. “Well, little time to waste then--thank you for waking me, Byeol-Su. It wouldn’t do to lie in bed all day.”
There might have been a grain of humor hidden in his words, but she’d have had to dig for it.
“Now, your pills.”
He crossed the room with an easy stride, barefoot, over to the kitchen and tea, taking the bottle of pills from her along the way, and opening it with a quick twist of the cap, then counting out two.
“Take water, and don’t wait too long to eat.” Iseul reminded her, handing the pills over. It had the sound of a warning that had been repeated many times before, habit, more than necessity now. Making the rest of the way over to the counter, he took his tea, cupping both hands around it, and breathing in the vapor. Something in his posture changed subtly, as though he was drawing energy from just holding the cup, the heat and smell bringing life into his body.
“Thank you, Byeol-Su. You are very kind.” Iseul murmured, bowing. The statement was again, serious, as respectful as if she were an adult and stranger, rather than his test subject and ward of several years. “When you’re finished eating, would you bring me my coat? We have tests to run. And has anything happened in your chatrooms I should know about?”

Morning... Whoops, was that the sound of him falling, or him knocking something over. Had he fallen asleep at his desk again? Wait, did he even have a desk in there, or was she remembering a different hotel at a different time. Things tended to be blurry first thing in the morning. All the same she snickered in her hands until the door opened, then she dropped her hands to her side and beamed up at him. Even seeing the ugly black veins on his eyes didn't lessen her smile at all. She took a step back letting him start to walk out of the room towards the kitchen, while extending her arm for him to take the bottle as soon as he remembered to. "You are welcome! You are lucky to have me here, or you would snooze through all the work! You would get sick," another little giggle, "And have to make your own tea!"
She dropped her arm to her sides when the little bottle was taken, still in step with Iseul when he handed her the two pills. For a moment, in her palm, they sunk ever so slightly into her "flesh". Neat as that trick would be, though, she still needed to "eat" them to absorb them correctly, so she put one in her mouth at a time and swallowed them dry. There was no water required when your insides were already wet as clay.
At least that was what she always argued. He, no doubt, would disagree.
"Was going to ask about eating, actually," Byeol-Su glanced at the fridge in the hotel room kitchen, "Do we have any egg left? Want to have eggs."
Byeol-Su's eyes went from the fridge to the closet, closer to the front door to the room, and extended her arm towards it. Her other limbs thinned as the one stretched out impossibly long until it was right at the closet door, where it pulled the sliding door aside, tapped some empty hangers aside, and then drew out a long white lab-coat from within. She slid the door closed again before she retracted the extended limb, the rest of her body returning to normal as it shrunk to its natural length. Byeol-Su then held the coat up to Iseul for him to take. For a moment her smile faltered. "Um...uhh...well..."
When her hands were free she brought one up to rub at her cheek, the flesh of her hand melding a little with the flesh on her face. "Because of the thing I did at the docks, Painter is mad at me. There was a murder of somebody by her in the news before I went to sleep. A lot of stabbing. A lot of a lot of stabbing. Stupid Libra must have told her...but she can not find us, right?"
