The sun hung low in the sky, taunting Jun with its last rays of light and warmth. He'd never admit it, but he clearly underestimated the time this job would take. He hadn't packed a warmer set of clothes. In fact he hadn't even packed anything. But it was too late to worry about that now. Worst case scenario they'd just have to head to town and come back tomorrow better prepared.
Jun had accepted a job to hunt down some guy hiding out in the forest, in this mountainous region. He and some of his boys were now scouring the area, split up to cover more ground, with only a photo and some general directions to where the man was last spotted. Jun had intended on wrapping this up within the day. But as he'd never stepped foot outside the city in his life before, he'd greatly underestimated the wilds.
Jun leaned on a tree and peered down a steep incline. "I think I might hate the outdoors. It's certainly not making a good first impression." He mused aloud. As if in response, the ground beneath him gave way and the silver haired young man went tumbling down with a shriek. The world spun into a blur of shapes and colors, continuing even after Jun's momentum stopped.
Shaking his head, Jun's view returned to some semblance of normalcy. He looked around, making sure no one was around to have heard that undignified noise he just made. He stood up, brushing twigs and leaves from his hair. He couldn't see anyone at least. To both his fortune and misfortune, his target was still nowhere in sight. He looked down, his white shirt was mottled in greens and browns and his sweatpants had a tear on the thigh, revealing a thin cut from which crimson seeped into the fabric. At least he hadn't gone out in some of his fancier outfits. He wouldn't miss these basic clothing articles.
"This thing better not get infected." He examined the cut. It wasn't too deep, though it bled a fair amount. Awareness of it brought sensation and soon the tear stung something fierce.

School had been killing him, it was so much harder than he had thought it would be. His social life had dropped basically to 0, his brain had melted (and not in the way it should have as a slime) and he had become so isolated that he barely knew what was going on anymore. It wasn't sustainable, it wasn't something he could do anymore if he wanted to remain healthy. And so he had taken the weekend for himself and stepped away from U.A. to clear his mind. Sure, he'd gone alone despite wanting to end his self-imposed hermit lifestyle, but he needed the time to reasses his priorities and figure out where it was that he was going to go from now on.
The fresh mountain air had been doing him some good, the vistas soothing his soul and the natural environment bringing him a deep sense of satisfaction. He'd set up camp in a clearing near the bottom of a sheer cliff face, and had been quite comfortable slowly building a small base of operations for the weekend. He'd brought minimal supplies, having preferred to make what he needed on site, and had spent several hours making a shelter, setting up a fire that he'd yet to light, and prepping food and water.
Deciding to try and catch food in a more novel way, Luka had gone out hunting in his full slime form, the translucent blue gel that was his truest form spreading out along the ground and slowly slithering through the undergrowth at a snail's pace as he sought out viable food sources. In this form he could technically eat almost anything that was organic, but that wasn't the point of the exercise. Instead he was just trying to make use of his quirk in a practical way that'd help him get used to more subtle uses of his abilities alongside dinner.
It had taken him some time, but he'd eventually found a hare's burrow and extruded a tendril of slime into it, startling the inhabitants enough that they leapt out and into the waiting mass of slime that he had prepared for them. A quick check confirmed they were both young males, and an even quicker motion ended their chance of escape. With his dinner and tomorrow's lunch secure, Luka reformed into his human shape and began heading back to his camp, only to hear a sudden shriek from near the cliff face. Two years of heroics training meant that he was already moving towards the sound before he fully registered it, limbs moving in a way that was vaguely unnatural for a regular person in order to give him greater speed.
He soon found the source of the sound, a slender.... boy, he was fairly sure they were a boy, mostly because their build was so similar to his own that he had experience identifying a feminine male (it wasn't like he spent hours looking for any sign of masculinity in his appearance or anything...). The person was standing and seemed to be fully functional, so it obviously hadn't been a serious incident. "Are you ok?" he called out, the two hares still in his hands, "any injuries?". As he asked, Luka looked up at the cliff, noticing the obvious change in its' lines that indicated the small boy had dislodged some of the edge and tumbled down. Not a great fall, but it seemed he'd been lucky enough to be mostly unharmed.

The sound of a sudden arrival gave Jun a fair start. He tensed up for just a moment before looking over towards the blue haired girl. Jun was not as adept at spotting trace masculine features, never caring one hoot about his lack of them and he hardly expected to meet someone as deceptive in appearance as himself. Certainly not in the middle of the woods. With a warm smile Jun responded: "Oh I'm fine. Just a little tumble. Nothing to concern yourself with."
He made the mistake of putting weight onto his leg without realizing, drawing an audible wince from him. Then there was the matter of the blood visibly seeping into his pants. It seemed the universe conspired to frustrate Jun. This stranger hadn't been anywhere in sight before Jun's fall. Meaning had to have rushed over to arrive as quickly as he did. So he was likely to offer help for the cut, which would obviously get in the way of Jun's search. Furthermore, since Jun couldn't see him it was unlikely he'd seen Jun. Therefore the only way he could have known to come here was if he had heard Jun's shriek. For these reasons he seriously considered killing the stranger then and there.
But two other reasons stayed his hand. One made itself known by a loud rumbling coming from his belly and the other hung from the country bumpkin's hand, a tantalizing promise of delectable nourishment. The pair of hares and the wild child's apparent stamina (he wasn't out of breath after what must have been a decent sprint) made it obvious he was used to the wilderness and so most like a better outdoor cook than Jun.
With all the factors considered, Jun made his choice. "Or well, I guess it kinda hurts. Like a surprising amount even and it's bleeding more than I thought it would. You wouldn't have any bandages would you?" 'Perhaps at the camp you most likely have.' Jun's thoughts wandered over a mental image of what the camp might look like, lingering on the idea of an open fire. A shiver came over him and he realized just how cold it actually was.

Luka just looked on unimpressed as the boy tried to play it off as if it were nothing, the slime boy's expression clearly disbelieving the lie as he raised an eyebrow at Jun. The sound of a rumbling stomach echoed through the quiet clearing, and he was forced to look down at his hares almost mournfully. It seemed he'd have to find something else for lunch tomorrow, because he wasn't capable of just walking away from this situation anymore, not with an injured and hungry civilian. "I don't have a lot of equipment, but I should have some things that can deal with your injuries," he said after a few moments of thinking, trying to remember how much he had brought with him for this weekend trip. He didn't really need bandages personally, so there probably wasn't a lot of them in his kit, but he was sure that there had to be some. It wouldn't have been very well prepared of him to have forgotten such a thing. "Can you walk?" he asked, "or do you need help? My camp is about..." he stopped to look at the cliff face again, scanning for identifying marks that would help him figure out exactly where he was. He hadn't paid a lot of attention to where he had been going when he followed after the scream. "About ten minutes from here at an average walking speed." If the other boy needed help, Luka would give him a steady shoulder to lean against, though that would slow them down somewhat. As they made their way back to the camp it began to snow, causing Luka to frown slightly and try and speed the expedition up as much as the injured boy could handle. Soon enough the camp came into view, a fairly simple lean-to shelter lashed to two trees using a tarp for a roof and nearby greenery for bed padding, most of Luka's gear hanging from the tarp's support struts or sitting beneath its' shelter. Directing the boy to sit on the bedding, Luka quickly went about starting the fire. Everything was prepped for it, but he hadn't wanted to light it until he got back. He had been intending on starting the fire with a more primitive method, but since it was an emergency he pulled out a pack of matches and quickly got the flames going, the small reflector wall of cut logs ensuring that the heat bounced back directly into the lean-to, warming them far quicker than might have been expected. With that done, he went through his pack as the last of the light began to die, the snowfall picking up further as the storm rolled in. "So, what's your name?" he asked as he pulled out his medical pouch, fishing out some disinfectant and a small folded roll of bandages, handing them to the boy so he could deal with his injury. Based on the way he had acted, Luka guessed he probably wouldn't respond well to being treated. Not that Luka was a doctor or medic or anything, so it didn't matter to him if the boy fixed himself up. That done, he sat himself down in the dirty snow by the fire, pulled out a large flat stone and began to prepare the hares for eating. It didn't really occur to him to hide the process from his guest, and so Jun would be treated to the sight of the small blue haired boy casually removing the hares' heads, followed by their lower limbs, and then removing the pelts as easy as one might pull off a glove. As he worked to process the meat into food, he turned his attention to the other boy again, golden eyes almost gleaming in the firelight even as he threw useless parts of the hares in a pile in the snow. "What are you doing out here anyway? You don't look like a hiker or backpacker, it's also pretty late for wandering around up the mountains, especially with no equipment." He wasn't sure what to think, but there was something a little odd about the whole situation.

There was at least some fortune to be had in this situation. The mountain girl had supplies to treat him with and from the way she looked at her catch, some food as well. It was beginning to appear like killing her would be unsporting. Or almost at least. "That's a relief. Thank you very much. Yes I should be able to walk." He demonstrated by placing his weight on the injured leg. Knowing the pain was coming made it almost trifling.
Hobbled though he was, Jun found himself able to maintain a solid pace easily enough. Every step he took signaled to his brain that the pain wasn't going anywhere anytime soon and so it eventually elected to ignore it. "Oooooh, snow." He exclaimed with apparent child like wonder. In truth it was concerning but the oblivious act was a necessary one. "Do you think there'll be enough for a snowman? Or at least a snow angel? Kinda weird you need to more snow to make a man than you do to make an angel. Angels are like noble, just and all round greater right? But not the snow variety. What do you think?" Some pointless drivel to further establish his 'character'.
They arrived at camp and Jun's suspicions were confirmed. This girl was a veteran hiker. Of course, who else would be around to stumble upon him like she did? Which would naturally lead to the question of what he was doing here. The mountain girl was weird enough for willfully removing herself from the comforts of civilization. But he was even weirder for his obvious lack of preparation.
Jun wasted no time getting to work dressing his injuries. He dropped his pants before cleaning out the wound and wrapping the bandage over his bare thigh. As he worked he observed the blue haired girl expertly skinning the two hares. Yet further proof she's done this more than once.
"My name's Kurosawa Jun. What's yours? Actually, shouldn't you have introduced yourself before asking? That's the polite thing to do. But then again you are helping me out so I guess it balances itself out. Right?"
And then it came, the question that'd been hanging in the air since they met. Jun put on his best pout and fiddled with his bandage. It would only make sense for someone to hesitate given the imminent admission of ineptitude. "I was with my boyfriend here yesterday. We were hiking and it was fun, although that's more his hobby than mine. But still anything we do together is fun. But when we got home I noticed my ring was missing. I didn't wanna tell him because it was a gift from him so I came here on my own trying to find it. Like what if some animal took it and decorated it's underground home with it. I'd never find it again so I had hurry and I guess I uhm, kinda sorta forgot to pack supplies. But really that would have just slowed me down and therefore increased the odds of some critter taking off with my ring. So in a way this is as prepared as I could possibly be for this particular mission. Hey, you haven't seen it have you? Gold, well not real gold but golden and with these elven runes. You've read Lord of the Rings right? Or at least seen the films."
Jun was satisfied this story would adequately deflect suspicion. It didn't paint him in the most flattering light but that was no trouble. It was a character he was accustomed to playing. Bubbly, friendly and most of all innocent.

It seemed that he was dealing with someone who had absolutely no clue what they were doing in the mountains... figures. He also had no idea how to respond to the statement about snowmen versus snow angels, it was just a bit too odd. "Erm... maybe it's because Angels are intangible?" he offered with a vaguely confused expression, deciding that that was the best he was going to be able to do by way of response. Who knows, perhaps the kid would accept the idea and be satisfied with it.
His impromptu guest appeared to be unbothered by any true modesty as he pulled off his pants and began to dress his injuries. Luka didn't much care himself, far too busy separating the various bits of meat from the carcasses of the hares he'd killed. He blinked slightly at the introduction, not realing that he hadn't actually told the other boy his name as of yet. Grateful that the cold wind of the rising blizzard had already turned his cheeks pink, Luka coughed slightly before replying. "Kurosawa-san huh? You can call me Genesis" the German boy said as he worked, grinning slightly to himself as he used his hero name in an introduction for the first time to someone outside of U.A. Sure, it wasn't really that special, but it was nice to get a chance to try it out for size.
Listening to the boy's explanation of his reason for being on the mountain had Luka looking incredulously at the very, very unprepared 'hiker'. He wasn't entirely sure how much he believed the story, but... well, the kid had been pretty ditzy the whole time some it was possible... just really weird. "You nearly died alone on a mountain over a ring?" he asked with a level of dry incredulity, "I'm pretty sure your boyfriend would be more upset over your death than a lost trinket." It was weird, but he could see people being that stupid he supposed, and at least the sentiment was nice? Pulling out his small frying pan, Luka sat a tripod over the fire and placed the pan on top, a small bottle of oil liberally dousing the cooking surface before the Hare was seasoned and dropped in. It wasn't high cuisine by any means, but he supposed his 'guest' could at least appreciate that it was cooked. Luka probably could have just eaten the hares whole on his own.
The questions that he had been asked caused him to scoff slightly, gesturing at the snow cover that had fallen throughout the mountain, "finding a single piece of jewellery in all that is not exactly a likely scenario. Even the One Ring of Sauron. Unless it can turn you invisible, I'd give up on it as a lost cause," he said with a shrug, scooping some of the aforementioned snow into a mess mug and placing it next to the pan by the fire to melt the snow into drinkable water. "It really wasn't smart coming here as unprepared as you are. You're gonna have to stay with me at least until morning, and then I'll needta take you back to civilisation..." he sighed here, so much for the extended camping trip, "how's your injuries?"

"Genesis?" That got Jun's attention. Was he truly so fortunate as to stumble across a hero in the wilderness? "You're a hero?!" He asked incredulously, pretending to not notice that he hadn't given his actual name. "No way, I'm meeting an actual hero? Ah, wait you're not actually a villain instead? That would be considerably less cool." As he said so Jun slowly backed away on the bed, making a show of putting a little distance between himself and the 'potential villain. Of course he doubted a villain would offer help to such an extent. Unless she was playing a game of her own. Either way things had gotten a lot more interesting all of a sudden.
Jun wasn't about to squander the opportunity to befriend a hero. There were all sorts of benefits to having a friend on the other side. Risks as well but the game isn't fun without those and the fun was a benefit all its own. One that made the entire venture worth it. Worst case scenario he'd at least get the satisfaction of a sudden betrayal.
"Well it's not like I planned on dying." Jun said in a huff, drawing his knees to his chest. "I just kinda got ahead of myself is all." He sulked, much like one who realized they were wrong but refused to admit it openly. Of course he hadn't been in any real danger. He could insulate himself well enough with his quirk to allow himself a safe return. The others would have to get moving though. They were better dressed but that would only get them as far as their van by the road.
It was an appropriate time for Jun to get quiet on account of his 'sulking' and Genesis was focused on cooking the two hares. A small clump of biomass slipped out from the fissure on his forearm. His legs provided cover in case Genesis decided to look back. The shifting mess of flesh, eyes and bone crept into Jun's pocket. The eyes provided him vision, allowing him to manipulate the flesh to send a message to his boys. But as to be expected it was difficult to focus on two different sets of sensory inputs, necessitating the break in conversation. The message said to get back to the city and that he'd return by himself and to not reply or call him. He considered taking out the battery and pretending it was dead if needed. But considering Genesis' experience she likely had a portable charger. So he settled on just putting it on silent mode.
The bioclump slithered back into Jun's arm and just in time as Genesis resumed his admonishment over his lack of preparation. She seemed, disappointed. Small wonder, didn't people usually go on trips like this partly for the solitude. That at least Jun supposed he understood, though there were simpler methods of getting some quiet. "I'm sorry for causing you trouble." He put on a look of dejection and spiced it with a half grin. Serving up a look of 'depressed amusement at his own failings. "I always do this." Now he buried his face behind his knees. "I don't stop to think and just act on my impulses. Hayate-kun is probably sick and tired of it by now. The ring is just the tail end of a long list of blunders." A bit of vulnerability as a means of disarming along with dropping the boyfriend's name for a little extra credibility. Just vulnerability wasn't enough though, he would need to show some strength in order to endear himself.
"Oh, sorry about that. I shouldn't trouble you any further." He flashed a warm smile as before and stretched out his injured leg before speaking with the same cheerful tone he had earlier. "It's absolutely fine as you can plainly see." For emphasis and to yet again reinforce the character's impulsiveness, gave the bandaged wound a hard slap.
The resulting yelp and hiss were however, entirely genuine.

Luka flushed slightly at the response to his name, shaking his head in denial. "Not really a hero, not yet anyway..." he said as he continued to cook the hare meat, poking at it with a stick as he waited for it to be finished. He was so hungry, and he couldn't wait till it was done. He let the other boy sulk in silence as he sprinkled the meat with some salt and a few other spices in order to make the meat more palatable for someone who was unfamiliar with wild game. At least he assumed that Kurosawa wasn't exactly well versed in that kind of food, something told him that the other boy didn't generally eat wild caught cuisine. Just a hunch of course...
The apology was a bit unexpected, and he coughed in response to it, not quite sure how to respond to such an open and honest statement about the state of the boy's relationship. What did you say in such circumstances? Gods, it wasn't like U.A. taught courses on such things, at least not as far as he knew. Maybe it was for older year levels? Feeling more than a little awkward, he didn't respond to Kurosawa, having no idea what he could say that wouldn't make things worse or harder for him to deal with. Rather than say anything, it was better to continue to tend to the cooking food, the slime boy wishing that he'd brought some sort of vegetables to accompany the hare in order to make the meal go a little further. Alas. he had nothing as he'd wanted to find his own meals while out here. There wasn't really much he could do in that kind of situation really.
He winced slightly as Kurosawa slapped his injury, the blue haired teen not sure just how dumb the other boy was if he was going to be doing such things. "Sure, totally fine. You're not going to be going anywhere for a bit....I'll probably need to carry you out when the snow stops" he declared, shaking his head even as he started to prep some tea to help keep them warm. His tone wasn't accusatory, rather it was far more 'matter-of-fact'. He didn't seem too upset by the situation, simply stating things as he saw them, as though there was no question as to what was going to be happening. Considering the leg injury, Kurosawa wasn't likely to be able to walk very far, even if they weren't in a slowly growing blizzard.
Eventually the food was ready, and he piled a small plate with meat and passed it over to the other boy, alongside a mug of warm and sweet tea. Luka picked at chunks of hare from the pan, having only brought one set of eating gear. "Eat up, then we should rest until morning," he declared, chewing the thankfully moist meat of the hare with some satisfaction. It had turned out better than he anticipated.

The blue haired hero hopeful looked uncomfortable. So she wasn't the emotionally open type. No matter, her discomfort still implied she took it seriously. If she'd tried to cheer Jun up then that would have been ideal, the interaction would have offered a clearer lane to potential friendship. Worst case would have been complete indifference as that would have been a dangerous sign of potential suspicion and that would most likely end with a confrontation which inevitably would get bloody.
"Eeeehh?! No, I'll be fine. I walked all the way to here so there's nothing to worry about." Jun wondered on how best to plant the buds of friendship. So far he had the girl pegged as a dutiful pragmatist. Perhaps she'd find the persona Jun had crafted more annoying than endearing. Or perhaps just bewildering. Regardless, it was a persona that came naturally to him and the situation had called for it after all. He simply had to work with what he had.
At any rate the conversation had to be kept going and Jun would eventually have to get her actual name out of the blue haired bumpkin. "Thanks for the grub." Jun reached out, grabbed a hare and wolfed down on it. "Oh that's really good." He remarked, taking care to swallow before speaking. He'd considered not to but decided it would be overplaying the role. Already half his hare was gone. Jun was hungry on the best of days and with a day spent roaming the mountainside he was famished.
"Do you do this a lot? Camping I mean. Well you obviously do, you're like really good at it. But I mean how often and...AH!" Jun feigned a look of revelation. "You never told me your actual name. Like, Genesis is really cool but I wanna know what you're actually called."

Luka gave the other boy a look of disbelief, "there is no way you're walking out of here on an injury like that, especially if this snow continues to fall so heavily, you'll just make it worse," he declared as he stuck a chunk of fried hare into his mouth, barely tasting it as his body went to work breaking it down with its usual hyper-efficient digestion. The slowly boiling water started to make a sound, and he dug out his only mug and prepared it for tea. Deciding that with the current situation, black tea with milk would be best, Luka added some sugar to the cup and placed in a tea bag before waiting for the water to boil, his attention returning to the other boy who had once again started to talk.
"I camp out here when I get the chance, it's a nice way to give yourself time to think," he answered, swallowing another hunk of the hare. He was keeping his consumption slow and within the standard speed of a person, even though he could have simply eaten it all whole if he had really wanted to. No point freaking out his 'guest' with the oddities of his quirk. Frowning slightly at the attempt to press him for his name further, Luka just shook his head as he began to pour the boiling water into the mug, adding some milk and stirring it all together before offering the hot beverage to Kurosawa, "I'd prefer to stay Genesis for now if you don't mind, that's who I am when I'm out here." He didn't explain how it helped him distance himself from things he'd rather not think about, or how it allowed him to just be himself more than when he was Lukas von Eisenberg.
That wasn't any of the other boy's business after all, nor should he care about Luka's own problems.
"I mean no offence, it's just a tradition for me while I'm out in the wilds." He added a teabag to the remaining heated water, and turned the small pot he'd used to boil it into another mug, making himself a cup of tea to go along with the one that he had offered Kurosawa. Polishing off the rest of his share of the hare, Luka then sipped at his tea as he idly stared out into the dancing snow, the sunset painting the drifts pinks and purples where the shadows of the trees didn't stop the light.
"Tell me about your boyfriend?" he asked after a few moments of silence, deciding that perhaps distracting the other boy with a topic would end the questioning. It might also wear the other out and put him to sleep, so that he could rest and recover. Both of which were good things in Luka's mind. With the small fire heating up their little makeshift camp, it was easy to become drowsy, and Luka was starting to feel the siren song of sleep tugging at his body as well.

"Fiiiine." Jun the innocent rang out. Neither he nor Jun the villain had any interest in pursuing the matter of walking on their own. The innocent would have preferred not to but it would be highly impolite to further object to your savior he felt.
Jun made no attempt to slow down his eating and within a few more bites the hare had vanished. Grateful though he was for the food, it left him wanting more. His stomach just getting warmed up so to speak and ready for the real race made some noise in protest. Jun ignored the, knowing there would be no more food even if the innocent were to put on his best 'pleading-puppy' face. "Ah, that was good. Thanks again. It's my first time having wild hare like that, or just wild hare in general." He stretched, groaning in tandem with his joints.
Jun the innocent leaned back on the bedding as Genesis went about his work and gave his reasons for refusing to reveal his real name. The innocent pouted, pausing to think before speaking. "That's fair, it sounds important to you so I won't press it any further." The villain didn't let it go so easily. There was definitely something behind those words. Some sort of pain the girl wished to escape. Something to tuck away for later.
"None taken. We all have our escapes. Mine are books and I hate it when someone interrupts me when I'm reading, so I'm not entirely oblivious to the effect of my presence here. But a tradition huh? Guess you've wanted to be a hero for a long time. I think that's really admirable." A tradition implied a fair amount of time, at least a few years. So then whatever troubles the girl was faced with, they weren't fresh. Family issues most like. Jun was familiar with that territory. But the details were no doubt a good deal different. It at least was not safe to assume any sort of abuse. Even if there were, it would still be hard for Jun to empathize. He was largely indifferent to his own past suffering. It was finished and no sense dwelling on it. Besides it had helped shape him into who he was today. Gave him the strength he needed to survive. He had that to thank his old man for he supposed. On top of everything, Jun had dealt with his problem in a rather fatal manner. One he suspected would not be palatable to the blue haired hero wannabe.
And there it was. Jun the villain had expected this question to come up. Though he would want nothing more than to dismiss it. Jun the innocent would never do that. So it was time to see how he was at improv. "Oh, sure. You'd like Hayate-kun I think. He's serious most of the time and really kind. Though he can be a bit of a prankster. Once you've gotten to know him that is, takes bit of time for him to open up. He's suspicious of most people right off the bat. Oh but I'm sure he'll see right away what a great person you are. Ah, that is if you were to actually meet, which would be great but, you know, not necessary." The innocent fumbled a bit, embarrassed by the accidental implication. He grabbed a blanket and threw it over the two of them, pulling it up to hide the blush in his cheeks. "He makes me laugh and most of all, when he holds me, I feel safe."
That should do it, Jun felt. "Have you got someone like that? A boyfriend? Oh, or maybe a girlfriend?" Jun was pretty far away from falling asleep. Having to maintain a persona required he stay alert, aware of his body language, his tone of voice and facial expressions. He had to guard his tongue so as to not let slip an uncharacteristic phrase. Admittedly, it was rather tiring and if given a reprieve the effeminate boy would most likely drift off. If that happened, he would allow his head to drop onto Genesis' shoulder. Partly for comfort and partly for the bonding inherent to bodily contact.

Luka noticed the look on the other boy's face and quietly began to melt some more snow, looking out at the raging snow just beyond their small shelter. A small bag of oats were pulled out of his pack, along with a pinch of salt and a wooden spoon. "Hero? Not really, I just like being out in nature," he replied as he began to stir the slowly heating oats, the beginnings of porridge forming within the small pot. He had anticipated being out here for at least another 3 days, so he could afford to burn through the few supplies he had brought with him if he was going to escort Jun back to civilisation in the morning. He could eat just about anything, but it was highly unlikely that the other small male could do the same.
Best just to keep him fed, since the last thing he really wanted at this point was to deal with a whiny person.
Luka listened without comment to Jun ramble on, allowing most of it to pass through one ear and out of the other, spooning out a large portion of the finished porridge into the cup that had held the tea (cleaned out first of course). A sprinkle of sugar and a bit of cinnamon, as well as a dash of what little milk he had left, and it was done. He'd silently pass the cup of porridge over to Jun to indicate that the injured boy should eat even as Luka leaned back into the shelter and began to rest his eyes. He was already falling into a light sleep-like state, awake and aware enough to respond to things, but not fully there. "It's good.... feeling safe... laughing too" he murmured, barely open eyes watching the dance of snow in the dark of the night.
His mind roused just enough to realise when he'd been asked a question, the answer coming out rather easily. Had he been more awake, Luka might have been disconcerted with how easy. "No partner... everyone leaves...." There were times he thought he was starting to feel something for someone, only for them to vanish out of his life one way or another. It was fairly sad if he really stopped to think about it, but of course he never would. Easier not to bother, easier not to think about the loneliness.
No matter how deep it was.
Sleep didn't come easily to him, but he did rest, drifting in and out of cosciousness as the storm continued to rage, stirring a little to realise not only was Jun sleeping now against his shoulder, but that there was a bear staring at them from over the reflecting wall. The bear sniffed a few times before recoiling as it stumbled across the scent markings Luka had left near his camp, leaving the clearing rather quickly once it knew the alpha predator of the region had nested here. One advantage of having returned to the area for many years was that he had been able to establish himself properly amongst the local population of animals. A slightly smug grin spread across his face as he settled into another light slumber.

Jun made no objection to Genesis making him some porridge. He thought he'd avoided letting his expression show his hunger but evidently some of it had bled through regardless. Jun could easily work up a raging hunger after all so the lack of control wasn't surprising if still disappointing. But the end result was more food and Jun was in no way inclined to turn that down any time soon.
"Oh, thank you." The innocent responded meekly, projecting embarrassment at being such a drain o n the mountaineer's resources. Jun consumed the porridge slower than he had the rabbit, to further reinforce the apologetic feel he was going for. When it was done he placed it down near the fire and returned underneath the blanket and snuggled up to the blue haired young girl. She seemed ready to go to sleep so that meant a reprieve from this charade. He allowed himself to relax but he did catch Genesis' admission of loneliness. That was promising. It did suggest a certain guard against letting people too close, compounded no doubt by whatever troubles compelled the hero hopeful to escape all the way into the mountains. But it also, rather obviously, suggested a deeply embedded longing for companionship. Jun could only hope the girl didn't fill that desire before the next time they had a chance to meet.
"That's sad." Jun replied with a yawn. "No one should be alone." To punctuate the statement, Jun wearily pressed tighter against Genesis and entangled his own arm with hers. It was a surprisingly pleasant experience, but that could just be the warmth provided by the blanket and shared body heat. Regardless of the cause, it soon lulled Jun into a much appreciated sleep. With eyes closed and mouth slightly agape he really did look entirely innocent.
When living on the streets, one learned to sleep lightly and so, in spite of his slumber, Jun found himself roused by the arrival of the bear, snooping around the circumference of the camp. He only barely parted his eyelids, enough to see the intruder whilst still looking fast asleep from Genesis' angle should she awaken. This could become troublesome. Jun had faith in his ability to kill the beast before it could pose a real threat but doing so would require showing not only his quirk but displaying a level of competence unfitting of his current role. Hopefully it simply left them be. Though he supposed to best case scenario would be for Genesis to valiantly defend him from it. Now that had some potential for bonding.
But alas, the bear found little of interest here and quickly ventured off. The subtle details indicating its reason for leaving were lost on the city boy. To him it merely seemed to have lost its interest and Jun just supposed it hadn't been that hungry to begin with. But with the immediate threat to his deceit passed, Jun quickly found himself returning to peaceful sleep, both his arms now unintentionally wrapped arounds Genesis' arm.
