AM I VILLAINOUS ENOUGH FOR YOUR VILLAIN CLUB? THE TERMINAL WAS ABSOLUTELY BUSTLING with people and, amongst the throngs a musclebound man tottered along with the flow. Besides his height and impressive physique, there were a few other noteworthy features.
His hair fell in dark brown curtains around his face, shadowing his deep-set eyes. His arms were tattooed from shoulder-to-wrist, rippling out from beneath a sleeveless, black hoodie with a zipper. His jeans hung low on his waist, and he wore a pair of sneakers.
Tobias looked like your common urban man, in rather comfortable attire. And though he maintained a stoic facade, inside he was panicking. He and Soheiwa were posing as villains and heading directly for the bow of the IOL Endeavour, to see what they could and speak with whoever. They were the eyes on the ground.
A bone mic was hidden beneath his shaggy, dyed hair, kept silent unless absolutely necessary.
He noticed someone getting too close to Soheiwa, stepped past her, and firmly redirected the stumbling, laughing stranger.
"Watch it," he grunted.
He was her "bodyguard", so was supposed to keep people back from her. Tobias extended an arm to usher Soheiwa onward, using his body as a makeshift barricade. He then resumed his position behind his "employer", walking stiffly behind her, scowling at anyone who stared for too long.

Some odd figure approached her. He was barely passing off wearing formal wear; all he was wearing was a sport jacket over a casual t shirt. Not even placing effort into going into this event. Such a shame. The mysterious woman just glares at him as her bodyguard handles the work. She has no need to interact with people such as these. She's looking for more...impressive customers.
That's the angle she's going at it. When disguising yourself as someone, you need to let yourself be absorbed into the character to pass off as someone else. Otherwise youll be seen as some kid wearing a halloween costume on Christmas. Toby meanwhile has no idea on how to go at it. See, the best way to do it is to play at your strengths. If you're big and imposing, make sure your character is among those lines. Her? She's slim, she has a somewhat evil looking face despite her best attempts, and shes not too shortish. So then...how to take it. Wearing a jet black suit with red gloves, she walks on red heels with short red hair, with black irises. She's carrying a briefcase as well. Always good to have a briefcase on hand to look more imposing. He usual flamboyant nature was replaced with disinterest and distain for anyone below them.
"*Sigh* Honestly...why let him in..." She shakes her head as she glances the place around them. "At least you have an excuse. Him? Please...if anything, the streets outside serves as a better place for him...come now." She sets the arm down as she leads the way, looking for people to converse with and potentially discuss certain...plans. Anything that might grab their interest. Hopefully. Otherwise this outing would have been a waste of time...and also a huge risk for them with no reward.
Inside her mind, Soheiwa is giddy as hell. If she were allowed, she would be grinning right about now. Her usual evil looking sinister grin, but a happy grin nevertheless.

Sonya stood near the bow, staring off toward the main line of stalls. How far things had come since she first arrived at the auction. Acquisitions were made, many of them. It was no surprise that she'd gathered a bit of attention. It was at the point that she was starting to wear the mask she had purchased the other day all the time. Eschewing her usual dress and elegant outfit, she took to wearing a more 'villainous' getup. It nearly looked like a military uniform or field combat gear. She adjusted the mask, taking a breath and feeling the treated air soothe her mind.
She crossed her arms behind her back and glanced at her watch. A new design, instead of an actual clock, the digital screen displayed not only the time but messages she was getting in real time. A few messages from one of her contacts later and she dropped her arm. They were close.
"L-Lady Ishtar?" The latest pathetic excuse for a secretary stammered. This one had been a woman, aesthetically pleasing and delicious, but tragically inept at doing her job beyond that of a basic pencil pusher. Now she was standing just at Sonya's back, clutching at her clipboard. "I think your appointment has a-arrived..."
Sonya turned, her white hair pulled back in a severe bun and her glowing pink eyes swirling thoughtfully.
"Good of you to come," She said in her thick russian accent; "I take it you've not come to waste my time?" She asked.

AM I VILLAINOUS ENOUGH FOR YOUR VILLAIN CLUB? TOBIAS ALLOWED HIS ARM TO BE LOWERED by his "employer", offering little more than a skeptical "hmph". He resumed his position as Soheiwa's bodyguard, shooting withering glances at anyone who unwittingly stepped too close. He walked purposefully, heavily, as he was the type of bold man to never step too lightly around anyone.
Truth be told, Tobias simply... tapped into his attitude from his high school years. In high school years, the lava manipulator had been featured in constant fights, posturing to keep any potential bullies at bay, and rather efficient at doing so. He had his physique to thank for that. So he simply acted as though everyone were sizing him up-- and that he, too, was ready to size them up in return.
The two rather metropolitan-looking presumed-villains navigated the crowd with ease. Tobias's gaze swept the crowd as if to assess threats, while Soheiwa scrutinized the crowd with a more... calculating... expression. They found their way to the edge of the room, where their vantage point was good, when a rather proud looking woman intercepted them.
The woman was undeniably well-dressed-- she wore a gown with a face mask and a high, elegant bun. Her accent was noteworthy-- Russian-- and her eyes were incredibly shocking-- a luminous pink. She ignored Tobias altogether. But, as Tobias's outfit would suggest, he wasn't worth paying attention to-- unless, of course, he was enacting his job as a bodyguard and kicking someone's butt.
He kept his gaze on the surrounding area, with one ear turned to the conversation unfolding in front of him.

"Ishtar, I presume." The woman known as Rei coldy states back at the russian singer while crossing her arms, right hand slightly tapping the arm as the other holds the briefcase. The name Rei is simple and to the point: works both ways. Gives them an identity to hide behind, and as her character would put: "Names are useless when talking to customers." Suppose one of the benefits of a proper disguise is that people would often give your the right material to work with. it's all catch and release with these sort of situations: You work with whatever they give you and you respond in turn whatever they want to hear or dont, depending on the character you're playing as. It's all about the performance, staying in disguise as you walk among this crowd. They hold no morals, so you too must hold no morals during this.
They got lucky to be contacted and be able to talk to someone, she supposes. Something about the way they look grabbed her attention, as if they were showing off some sort of odd aura she just needed to have by their side. "It depends whether or not our services can be of use to you. If it's not up to your standards then I suppose we would be wasting our time here as well." She looks around to see her area in case of a potential escape route: Seems to be good so far. Just flip around and get out of the area, simple as that. Not sure about Toby, though. "Would be a shame too, to be walking around here and doing nothing. Same as all the others here." She says with a hint of disdain. "Now then...Hold this for a minute." She places the briefcase in Toby's hands to open as she pulls out some papers. "You know we partake in the field of protection of certain figures, so why do you need protection persay?"

Ishtar raised an eyebrow, drawing up the collar of her villain outfit to fit a bit more comfortably around her throat. The two newcomers appeared to be professionals but there was something...off? She could not put her finger on it and did not care to pry too hard without risking losing a potential hire. She needed employees and the first step was catching their interest. She crossed her arms behind her back and relaxed her posture, she nodded at her companion who nodded several times as if desperate. He reached down for a suitcase at his feet and lifted it, turning to the two of them and opening it. Inside was a padded surface with a single indentation. Inside was a sleek, white device that looked like one could slide their hand into it. Ishtar gestured to it; "A prototype,"Ishtar flicked her hair and glanced toward the teeming streets of corruption beyond where she stood. The truth didn't hurt now and then and in this case it might just help. She needed people to... 'drink the koolaid' as the plebians said. "I am a businesswoman, I do not have anything against this new... hero society. It is a natural evolution of things, unsurprising. I simply aim to make a profit and improve the lives of quirk users everywhere in the meantime. While most of the technology I have found here is... reprehensible in one way or another there are some gems in the rough. This one in particular," Ishtar said. "As I said, I'm not like most of the individuals here, if you catch my meaning. I need protection to continue to do the work that I do, even if it means stepping a bit into the grey area. Can you handle this?" She asked, gesturing for the suitcase to be shut before their eyes. | 309 Words

AM I VILLAINOUS ENOUGH FOR YOUR VILLAIN CLUB? THE CRIMSON (NOW BRUNETTE) GENTLEMAN continued to stand passively by, an intimidating shadow behind Soheiwa. Thankfully, his role in this transaction was not incredibly verbal. Someone tread too close to the two women, and Tobias roused himself from the wall, standing with arms crossed and eyes thinned. They bumped into him, clearly preoccupied by all ofthe wonders around them.
"Excuse you," the redhead growled. The person bowed and redirected themselves, steps quick. Being massive had its perks.
Soheiwa called to him, and the brunette returned obediently to get side.
“Understood,” he grunted obediently. He lifted his arms, palms upward, and took the case up into them. He held it low enough for Soheiwa to manipulate, and for the interested party to see.
The other party mirrored the gesture, the masked woman gestured to her companion, who opened their own case, which contained a minimalist device within. There really wasn’t any outward indication of what it was, besides something worn, but its function was… not discernible at a glance. Tobias didn't look for too long, casing the crowd instead. It wasn't his job to inspect the device.
He did, however, listen to the conversation. His gaze watchedthe crowd, sizing-up anyone who looked for too long. The woman wanted protection-- from what was unclear-- but she needed it “for her work”,as she put it. It was not his place to ask questions. He hoped, however, that Soheiwa would. Any information could be useful.

A prototype huh? Huh, she recalls seeing the auctioning off of this. Not on the amount paid for it, but she did hear a run down of the function that this gizmo has. It's basically just a wearable phone/laptop. Easy to communicate with and to display info. It's a bit tad extra, like there's already a lot of smart watches out in the world that can already do this deal. But that extraness is exactly what Soheiwa loves about it. Completely unnecessary and also grand. She's internally squeeing, grinning into high heaven. Undercover work is good for moments such as this.
However, all of that did not translate onto her face. Instead, she keeps up the disinterested and stoic look on her face. "Rare to see something as simple within this auction. I can't blame you for being cautious enough to protect it." She looks at Sonya's eyes, as she sighs, slightly moving a stray red hair out of her eyes. Still not completely telling us her job, huh? She really is cautious. No point in spilling everything, huh? She looks for the proper papers to hand to Sonya. One thing she made sure of: making sure all of the documentation is authentic looking. A completely fake company backed by fake people, given to her by a fake persona. But goddamn it won't she make it look official. She spent like all night beforehand make sure it passed the proper channels look wise. She checked up prices, deals, laws, she asked this one guy to look it over, get a weird look from him, all of that. These papers are ironclad...for about a night or two.
"Just look at this so we can confirm our contract." She looks at Tobias, who looks a bit unease. Yeah, same here big guy, this gal isn't saying thing. She's gonna try something though. "Pardon me for asking but..." She coughs a bit before looking at Sonya again. "Is there anything else you would like to tell us? To keep an eye out in this auction ?" Being half-russian has its benefits: mainly speaking the language fluently. "We make sure to keep all customers protected, so feel free to tell us what to look out for when transporting you and this prototype out of here. I recall people attempting to obtain this object as well." Get some more info out of her with the simple way of protection: speaking a different language. She'll tell Toby later.

Sonya watched the two of them carefully. The brunette gentleman was stoic, he kept his mouth shut and focused on observing their surroundings. A consummate professional who let someone more comfortable with social interaction do the talking. That was fine, it showed a level of competency beyond your average thug. They would do just fine. The other, a woman, kept a controlled look on her face even as her eyes lingered on the prototype. Was that veiled interest? Sonya couldn't read her face well enough to discern but it was something she could toy with later if she needed to.
The documents exchange hands next. Sonya takes them and begins to peruse, they were legitimate from what little she knew about the criminal underworld in Japan. A relative newcomer herself, she wasn't one who had access to the information that would prove the validity one way or another. Still, it looked good and that was enough. She flicked through the papers and glanced back at the woman as she spoke, handing them over to her attendant to allow him to read them as well.
The woman switched to Russian. Sonya's mouth twitched beneath her mask. So her accent was that obvious, mm? Sonya's eyes crinkled a little bit as if she was either amused or smiling out of kindness. What amused Sonya the most about the whole thing was that this was a clear business tactic. Get into the customers good graces by showing a shared foreign language. Make her feel comfortable. Sonya was a businesswoman, she knew these strategies.
That said... it wouldn't be an entirely bad idea to let her guard down a bit.
"I'll be plain then. I intend to make improvements on this prototype and make it available on the open market with my primary market being heroes and a civilian model, instead of it being the sole property of..." She gestures to the show going on. "There are some who don't take kindly to my... neutral business model," She says and nods to the surrounding area. "In other words... your work is cut out for you, dearie," She said with playful flick of her tone, sticking to russian before turning to the route they were on.
"Now that you know, we should be off. I would very much rather not get cornered here at the beginning of my little crusade, mm?" Sonya said, and began to walk. | 415 WORDS NOTES
