It wasn't exactly often that Maeko found herself with something else to do than either dream of burning stuff down or actually burning things down, so it was admittedly a bit of a strange shift. Nevertheless, she found herself in pleasant company. Luzia was a friendly face for sure, but not someone she had actively gone out of her way to spend time with before. It was always with the rest of Eternity or some other individuals, never just the two of them. Which was in her mind a damn shame, because they really could wreck some shit up if they ever worked together. Her quirk and infamy alone would definitely help terrorizing the local populace, but that wasn't why they were out tonight. Maeko had this hastily planned for a very short time, working out the barest of specifics and decided to scrap all of that and simply fly by the seat of her pants. It was time for a girls night.
Walking down the street towards the terminal had Maeko excited. If the massive smile on her face didn't show that fact off properly, then her hair almost certainly would. The flames were crackling atop her head and it was honestly a bit of a wonder they hadn't been stopped by anyone simply for her existing. Or at the very least, the dots weren't being connected to her villain persona. On one hand, Maeko definitely didn't hide in public, which probably helped in some roundabout way. Or at least, in her mind it did. After all, you couldn't just walk up to someone in public and accuse them of being a wanted and dangerous criminal. It would be easy to claim prejudice, amongst any other number of horrible things and assumptions about her person because she had a quirk. So far it's worked without a charm, even if they were technically right. Once you start calling someone a quirk-hater, most people would tend to back down pretty quickly.
Regardless, this wasn't a night for worrying about things like identities, it was a night of fun. There was a huge auction coming up, and as far as Maeko knew, that meant total chaos. To broadcast it so publicly that every villain in that damn chat knew meant that everyone in the whole city would know within the week. No doubt she would kick back, relax, and watch the chaos on the news like any "normal" civilian. Tonight was nothing more than a simple small auction she had discovered. It wasn't much, probably just boring pieces of black-market art, with one or two interesting things, but the actual contents being sold didn't interest her in the slightest. It was nothing more than an excuse to go out with one of her many partners in crime.
Turning around as she spoke, Maeko carelessly twirled the thick leather purse around on her arm as she spoke. Anything thinner or made of a more volatile material might simply catch up in smoke anytime she got excited, and bam. There goes all her cash. "You know? This is great. Like, damn, the last time I went out on the town just to simply enjoy myself was like... Back in America. Back then, everything was snoresville. But here, hell, we got all sorts of backwater and dirty deals to walk in and enjoy ourselves to, huh? I mean, hell, we got all the credentials we can possibly have. It's called the most wanted list." She laughed softly to herself, shaking her head a tiny bit. "Come on, two pretty ladies strutting their stuff, what could possibly go wrong?"

Luzia still didn't like this whole thing, but maybe it was just her. She was just a homeless killer; she might have had dreams of it, but she never actually thought that she might come to a place like this. This was an auction, a place where the literal goal, as Kyoko explained to her, was to throw the most money around to buy stuff. How was she, of all people, supposed to do that? Besides that, something didn't feel right; she couldn't really explain it, but it felt like something was gonna happen, something bad lurking around the corner. It felt like she had a target on her back, but she was used to that feeling, this was something more. But, she had to be here. Kyoko wanted her here, Niso wanted her here... and honestly, it did sound fun enough, she wanted to try it out; why not? She had the money for it now... Kyoko paid her really well....
But the main auction wasn't starting for awhile, apparently, which left them with not much to do. To her surprise, though, Maeko asked to hang out. At first, Luzia was confused; didn't Maeko hate her? She knew that she hated Maeko once... she was hanging out with Niso a little too much, it made her suspicious, she didn't like it when Niso was her's...! ...But Niso explained it to her, and she forgave Maeko a long time ago. But beyond that, she was Niso's friend, they never really hung out... but she was pretty happy to say yeah, too! Niso's friends were her friends, and Maeko was weird, but fun from the times they had been together! And besides, a girl's night out, as she called it, sounded like fun!
She smiled, already getting excited as she walked with Maeko, her own bag, a more of a backpack with a single strap rather than a purse, slung over her shoulder as she watched the firehead twirl her bag. The way she smiled was contagious, and she couldn't help but get excited herself; they were going to an art auction, and not only was there a chance that seh could find something pretty, but Maeko wanted to hang out with her, like friends! Not just Niso or Kyoko, but her too! She didn't even care that she was the only one out of all of them to wear a mask, she liked this outfit anyway, and she'd wear it for a night out anyway, or something like it.
She smiled at Maeko, trying to not frown at the reminder that she felt like there was trouble waiting right around the corner, trying to ignore the constant need to look over her shoulder. She already made her concerns clear to everyone before they came here, but she was still convinced to come. Besides, she had a point, they were on the most wanted list of all of Japan, number 6 and number 4, not bad numbers at all, and something Luzia was trying to keep in mind to push down this uneasy feeling in her stomach. If trouble really was around the corner, she could take it, right? They could take it, because it wasn't like she was alone, not anymore. She blushed, though, blinking in surprise and smiling at the compliment to her looks, grinning a little wider, actually starting to believe that sort of talk.
"Yeah... yeah! We can take anything that comes, right? Number 7 and number 4... we're bad bitches looking for a good time!" She emphasized her point just a little with a little release of glowing gas, not making any sort of art, just releasing a pink mist from her forearm to be dispersed almost immediately by the breeze.

“Hell yeah, that’s what I’m talking about.” Her smile only grew a little bit wider seeing Luzia get excited, releasing the glowing gas so freely. Sure, they were on the most wanted list, which meant that people no doubt were looking for them. But right now, she wasn’t worried. No doubt the police and the pro heroes had alot more on their plate with the big overwhelming auction looming in the metaphorical distance than to bother with a couple of terrifying gals like them just trying to have a good time. Swinging her purse once more, Maeko kept walking.
“Over there.” Maeko pointed over towards a building across the terminal. Visibly rundown and beat up, as if anyone stopped trying to repair the cracks in the brick walls years and years ago. “That should be the place. Or at least, so I think. I ain’t the best at finding stuff like this, but I ain’t going to doubt the information coming from the internet just yet.” She would laugh almost immediately, chuckling to herself as she would reach a free hand up and brush through her hair in an attempt to keep it under control. The flames were still hot, but not enough to burn her own super-heated skin just yet. Hopefully, it didn’t cause too many problems today. If the ceilings were low, then there was no doubt to be a bit of an issue, but that was to be expected. People just didn’t take into account girls like her anymore.
As they approached, the two of them would be able to see a few interesting things that were pretty obvious once they knew what to look for. The extremely nice looking cars sitting right beside the junk cars that weren’t fooling anybody, a couple of rough-looking thugs standing outside the building, and the lights on in the basement from a single-window shining in the dark. “Bingo. This is the place. I mean, hell, it’s basically screaming “Hey everyone, look. We’re selling shit illegally.” I mean, damn, you see those guys? Looking like they are coming straight off the streets, carrying chains and lead pipes. Can't be any more obvious.” Confidently, Maeko would walk straight up to the building.
Of course, the thugs who weren’t expecting anybody else other than the assigned guests were definitely a bit annoyed by the two girls just walking down acting like they owned the place. There was absolutely zero doubt these hooligans were being paid to act as security guards for the place. One of the bunch, a bigger more bulky guy stood up from his stool and spoke. “Looking lost? This isn’t the shopping mall, get out of here.” Very clearly this was a threat, with cracking his knuckles and staring them down.
Maeko simply laughed, rolling her eyes “Oh come on now, don’t be idiots. We know what’s going on, and we want in.” Before the man could speak up again, she simply raised her hand entirely unphased. “Listen, there is two ways this is going down. One, you let us in without an invitation and we browse and maybe purchase something. Or two…” She would simply roll her shoulders and motion towards Luzia. When she spoke again, Maeko didn’t even try and hold back the tiny breaths of flame that spilled out between her lips as she spoke to her friend. The girl’s grin a mile wide, taking sadistic enjoyment at the thought of terrifying these men. “Why don’t you tell them exactly how The Painter operates, hmm?”

Blushing brightly, Luzia's grin became less forced as Maeko got excited. She felt happier, knowing that she said something right, that Maeko liked her a little more now. She did a good, and she could stand up a little taller with that feeling.
She had an extra kick her step, a subtle but noticeable one, as she approached the building with Maeko. She noticed the cars, but bouncers caught her attention more; they didn't feel right. They looked like they were two guys taken off the street... not to mention this place was run down, and the only visible light was in the basement... wasn't this a port? What was a building like this even doing here?
Something didn't add up... she wasn't sure what, but she had a funny feeling in her tummy that wanted her to go somewhere else. She frowned, turning her eyes to Maeko as she threatened the men, looking back at them, then doing a double-take, shooting her eyes back at Maeko in surprise. "Eh? You want me to kill them?" She blinked, registering the two bouncers stiffening in the corner of her eye, though she paid more attention Maeko. "I don't know if we should, these two don't really feel like they'd be guarding an auction..."

"Eh, kill them, maim them, torture em, whatever you wanted to do. They're just in our way, really. Trust me, there's something going on here." Maeko simply shrugs as she continues to just look back at Luzia. Of course, the thugs seemed to be a tiny bit disturbed. This was supposed to be a rather easy job for them. Intimidate a few aimless people, maybe bash a few heads here and there, but these girls didn't seem to be intimidated by them at all. The one solely seemed confused, while the other was confident despite their threats.
"Last warning." He larger man said, shifting down to grab a lead pipe from where he had been sitting and brandish it in his hands, tapping it against his palm. "Get out of here, before we make you."
It was at this point where Maeko outright laughed. She practically began to keel over in laughter, her sickeningly sweet giggles echoing around the general area. The thugs were definitely growing furious with them now, the largest of the men definitely seemed even more upset that his authority was being outright laughed at by this girl much smaller than him. Brandishing his pipe, he quickly stepped forwards and attempted to swing the pipe with a heavy horizontal strike right at Maeko's head.
Despite her laughter, she was well prepared for a strike. After all, she practically urged it on with her laughter. Quickly ducking, Maeko did exactly what she did best. Her feet suddenly twisted into the ground, the concrete of the ground where she stood cracking from the force as she pushed herself forwards. Slamming her head right into the chest of the thug with her intense strength, her hair burning the man and catching his clothes on fire as the strength of the blow knocked him straight down onto his back. A sickening crack of ribs breaking were easily audible, the man suddenly screaming out in pain as he tried to pat the fire out of his clothes, crawling backwards along the ground with intense pain. Maeko's eyes suddenly seemed to gleam brightly at the sight, the fear in his eyes bringing a sick, twisted pleasure to her..
"See?" Maeko said as she looked back to Luzia, the flames spilling out of her mouth once again as her hair slowly and surely began to grow out of control with the flames above. "You know, if you want to leave all the intimidation to me, you're more than welcome to. But hey, feel free to hop in." She giggled once again, putting her hands beneath her face in what could only be described as something akin to a 'cute' pose, despite the fact that her sadistic smile definitely ruined the cute look.
"So!" The pyromaniac turned back around to face the thugs, the one who didn't attack them immediately trying to help the one that she had knocked straight down back up onto his feet. "I ask you again. There won't be any hospital bills, just funeral costs. So tell me, is this where the auction is?" The thinner of the two immediately nodded his head, only to be elbowed by the one in pain to try and get him to shut up. Maeko simply tsked softly, shaking her head as she made a 'follow me' motion with her hand to Luzia as she walked up towards the door.
"We are going inside. Maybe purchasing a few things, the standard affair." With a deep breathe, Maeko attempted to calm herself down and let the flames recede. It didn't work, not even slightly. The excitement was simply too much to resist. "And you two, are going to be lucky you had the chance to run. Sounds good?" The thugs visibly didn't agree, grumbling to themselves. And yet, they seemed to know better than to risk breaking a few more ribs or worse. "Good! Come on Luzia, let's go!"
Yanking the door open immediately revealed a rather empty building so far. Or at least, the upstairs. It seemed empty, asides from some scrapped cars and even a boat inside. Perhaps it used to be a repair shop for machines that operated on the dock, but now it certainly had a different purpose. There was a light coming from the basement, with nothing but a closed door in an attempt to keep them hidden. Maeko rolled her eyes, this had to just be way too obvious. Stepping back with her purse tucked against her hair, and taking a couple seconds to try and calm her quirk down at least somewhat, she motioned with her hands. "Well, after you. After all, you're the bigger name than I am, after all. Seriously, fourth most wanted? How did you manage that? Consider me out of touch with the news and stuff. And it's not like I've ever been with you when you murdered people so hey, mind filling me on the details a bit?"

Luzia looked at Maeko again, blinking in surprise when she so casually talked about murder and torture. Was it so easy for her and Niso? Could they just do it whenever they wanted? Did the urge just... constantly exist in them? Curious, confused thoughts slowly turned into thoughts that made her frown, made her heart go a little cold with a slight tinge of fear: was it wrong that she didn't do it as often as them?
She flinched at that thought, accidentally timed that someone watching them may have thought she was flinching at Maeko attacking the two. That she watched almost absentmindedly; Maeko was handling it just fine, and it wasn't anything she hadn't seen before. She was far more concerned with her worry; did they not like her because she didn't kill or hurt as much as they did?
She frowned more when Maeko said she could leave the intimidation to her, her lips pursing even more. She was right; they didn't. Guilt and shame washed over her, gripping her heart like a vase. Maeko didn't like her... but... but it wasn't her fault! She just needed to be in the mood to kill! That's all! She had to be in the mood to paint, too, it wasn't a big deal! Why did she hold it against her?!
Finally, Maeko convinced the thugs to let them in, and she lead Luzia inside. Aside from the cursory scan of her surroundings that was second nature to her, Luzia didn't pay attention. Her mood was souring quirk; Maeko hated her because she wasn't joining her in the killing and the attacking. She was pretty sure Niso was disappointed in her for the same reasons. It... it wasn't her fault, damnit! The mood just... just wasn't in her always, why were they blaming her for that?! Damnit! She didn't ask to be like this!
"I don't know!"
Luzia almost hissed through her teeth as she walked down the stairs, leading Maeko, snapping at her like an angry animal. "I just get angry sometimes, and everything just goes... red for awhile! When I come to, there's usually a body under me... but I feel better and I end up painting on the walls, and then later I'm on the news...." She closed her eyes, gritting her teeth, pulling a bottle of of her bag, dry swallowing a few pills, twisting her neck to soothe it a little. She wasn't wrong, but what she didn't say was that she always felt really good killing... it was better than any drug she ever had, it was better than sex, better than booze... it was like the thing that built up in her, all the stress and the anger and the hate and the jealousy... it all came out in one big explosion... leaving her feeling empty in the best way possible, like crying for a whole day straight and waking up the next. But the news after was almost as good; the way they talked about her over and over again... it made her feel... wanted. They paid attention when she killed; they didn't even notice her when she just did stuff... she wasn't invisible when she was on the news.
She stopped at the bottom of the steps, and immediately several men stood up, glaring at them. Luzia looked away with a grimace; she was starting to get angry, but she still didn't want a fight. But... that's what Maeko wanted, right? For her to fight, for her to throw the weight of her new title around. Honestly... she wanted to do it too, she jsut didn't know how, okay? She was a homeless little bitch; she hated it as much as anyone, but she didn't know how to be... well, cool anymore. How would Niso do it? He'd probably get hit and laugh as he got back up or something... she didn't really want to do that. Maybe Kyoko? What would Kyoko do...? Pay them off, maybe...?
Damnit! What the hell was she supposed to do?!
Luzia narrowed her eyes as the leader started to speak, steeling her nerves for the only idea she had. The leader, the only one that didn't stand up, started to ask what they were doing here, but Luzia stomped forward, slamming her hands on the table in front of him. "Shut up!" Instantly, his bodyguards were pulling their weapons out, but the leader stopped them with a hand, allowing Luzia to continue, and despite her pounding heart, she did. "We have money, and this please is supposed to be an auction, so let us in."
She glared at him, sounding tougher than she felt, but before she started tremblingh, he caved first, smirking at them as he got up to lead them into another room, letting Luzia sigh in relief.

Maeko certainly wasn't prepared for Luzia's outburst, but listened intently as she followed the girl down the stairs. This was... something she hadn't quite seen yet. Her words did make sense, even if it wasn't quite what she expected. Luzia reacted under anger, such extremes that she'd practically blank out and just murder, only to wake up with a body nearby. Just how violent and bloody were these murders, or even how often were they, to end up with such a wanted position? Maeko made a mental note as she continued to walk down the stairs with Luzia. Never get her angry at her. After all, why would she even want to? Luzia was a nice enough gal, that was more than enough for her.
As soon as they walked inside and Maeko noticed the men in the room standing up, she instantly steeled her nerves once again. What did it take to get an invitation into these places anyways? These idiots really should just learn to stop questioning them. She was just about to say something when Luzia shouted out at them, and a small smirk began to spread across her face. A small part of her wanted to pat Luzia on the back and say well done as she successfully threatened their way into the auction itself. Perhaps the man with the body guards himself wasn't intimidated, but they were certainly a bit of a higher class than the petty thugs outside. Keeping her confident, smug smirk on her face, she'd teasingly wave towards the bodyguards. A part of her wanted to pat Luzia on the back and say well done, but one, that would definitely be condescending, and two, that would hurt her with how hot Maeko's skin was. Instead, she'd simply give Luzia a small smile.
As soon as they were lead into the next room, Maeko's smug attitude suddenly shifted into a slightly bored one. Art. She knew it was going to be art, probably stolen pieces, but it still didn't help that it was as boring as the rest. Of course, with her fiery hair and heat simply radiating off her body, quite a few patrons stared at her in the relatively cold and dry room otherwise. Moisture was bad for old art, and so was heat, but Maeko certainly didn't give a damn about all that. She was here to spend some time with Luzia and that was what she was going to do, even if she wasn't overall impressed with the situation. In fact... the art here didn't even seem that good. It almost reminded her of the bootlegs of blackmarket art. Hell, for all she knew, they were all scams, that was just how the illegal business worked.
Stepping further into the room, Luzia would let out a deep breathe to try and keep her quirk under control as she gently nudged Luzia with her arm as she took the lead to walk further into the room. The paintings, tapestries, and even a few "ancient" statues that she had no way of proving were even real were carefully placed across the otherwise simple room. The actual bidding was happening up front, where a large painting of a woman was being auctioned off. If she had to admit... it was kind of underwhelming. She had expected something large and grand, big spotlights and beautiful pieces that even she'd recognize. Or maybe something more unique like a weapons auction, buying and selling deadly weapons from foreign countries, but this was just... boring to her. Determined to focus on Luzia instead of letting her disappointment show, she spoke softly. "Tell me, see anything you like? Or anything interesting just yet, hmm?"
