"Ah, isn't this fun?!"
Blank perched in his seat like an owl, both hands firmly latched around the steering wheel of the school bus. The day that the white-haired man had anticipated for weeks had finally arrived, and it was sure to make both himself and the students happy! He had exclaimed towards anyone that would listen about it being fun, but hardly explained how driving a forty-foot car was anything of the sort as he went on to talk aloud more,"Field trips are so exciting! You get to really bond with the youth of today as a chaperone! And who would have thought driving a bus would be so easy?!" His childlike voice was muffled under his gas mask, hiding the innocent curve of his smile and shining lavender eyes.
There were very few people he hadn't spoken to in his time teaching at U.A. He made sure to introduce himself to every student he passed or, at least, the ones that would talk to him. The teacher's lounge, though incredibly exciting in it's own nature, didn't bring him the same warm fuzziness as speaking with his students. Tobias was welcoming, becoming his first friend with the absurd amount of time he'd spent in the library, but there were few teachers beside that that hadn't found him obnoxious. Hisao always gave him a dirty look, Geist turned into a puff of smoke and fled whenever he was near. Even the principal, though kind in his own right, would make brief eye contact and speed away in the other direction.
It was high school all over again, but that hadn't stopped Yukio from trying!
The bus-driver recalled the pair in the seat behind him and perked up,"Hey! Tsuki-San! Nim-San! Are you excited for today? Being together on a bus... it's really fun, is it not?" Blank called to the teachers behind him, hoping to pull them into some sort of conversation. The students were already conversing with one another, so why couldn't the chaperones?

Itsuki had been really excited for this trip, even though it hadn't been organized the way he might have wanted it too. He had planed on each team of students taking a different bus up to the mountain, starting at totally different points and even spending the night on the frozen land... but the other teachers were right, that was probably a little tpp harsh for first year students... it was the kind of thing he had done with the military, and these kids were still a far cry from soldiers.
Still, this wasn't going to be a walk in the park for these kids. It was still treacherous, and while they had the teachers there to accompany them, the teachers weren't there to help, only to observe. He let a light sigh escape his lips as he took his spot in the bus, tending up only once they had taken off. Blank, the one driving the bus... was basically standing on the seat. That meant there was no feet on the gas or the break, so the bus was just... in motion.
"What the..."
He would mutter to himself, waving his hand and taking out two blocks of earth from his sleeve. The two blocks would jiggle as if they were made of jello, and float over to the pedals of the bus. While Blank was driving, Itsuki was making sure he actually used the gas and break pedals. Though, his concentration became split whenever he was addressed as tsuki-san. It honestly didn't register at first, and he tried hard to think of who he might be talking to. Though when he also mentioned nimue, he knew that he was talking about him seeing as they were sitting together.
"Oh, me? Apologies Blank-san. I am definitely excited to get these kids up there and really see their potentials shine! However... are you sure you've... driven before?"
He would ask with an apologetic look on his face. He didn't mean to be rude, but Blanks driving was freaking him out.

Nimue Nakahara Yuuei's Nurse She did not like being in a bus, she loved fast vehicles and so on but she wasn't all too fan of those things and to be fair, even if it was part of their plan and so on, she did not like that she could not look outside. It made her mind go a bit mumbo jumbo, her balance organ did not seem to know what was up or down, left or right and so on which made it so that her big amber coloured eyes stared outside, focused on the nothing but what she could see over the head of the busdriver. Blank-sensei. She had not spoken much to him before and she sat still, looked rather pale, even for the pale person that she was and held on to the rail that was before her and separated her from the lower sitting driver. She sat on the edge of her seat and her knuckles turned white, that's how hard she clenched her hand around the rail. She was just afraid to turn nauseous and to screw it up. Yes, so much for good impressions, she simply was glad that she was sitting next to Itsuki, after saving them from the locked room, she was sure he would be able to do whatever it was that was necessary if they got into trouble. Surely, yes, it was fine, yes.
It took her a bit before she noticed that she was Nim-san, it wasn't weird that someone called her Nim. Izanami had done so as well it was just that she focused on the small outside that she could see and she looked shortly at Itsuki before paying attention to Blank. What did he mean to ask if Blank had driven before, they were doing fine right, she tried to let go of the rail but she only hunched down a little with her shoulders and stared at the both of them. "I am sure that it will be very exciting and wonderful to do so." Were the small words that she could muster up to say out loud. "And like Itsuki-san said, it's definitely a good moment to have the students show what they can do." They had, some of them at least, showed her what they were able to do but it was now a bit of a different thing, the obstacles that they had planned, the teachers that were out there, they would have to put their minds together and powers to win over such things. |

It's true that Blank was crouched onto his seat like a mother hen nesting on top of eggs, but it was comfier this way! Sitting still was always a problem for the overactive young teacher, so this meant that he technically wasn't sitting at all! The seat belt was still stretched tightly against his chest which felt quite uncomfortable, but he would have to make it work,"Why, yes! I've driven now and again, usually my Bolkswagen Van! But this car is a biiiiit longer than that~!" The white-haired man smiled to no one but himself, the implications from Shockwave's question going right over his masked head. His legs would, when needed, stretch down to press on the gas or the breaks. Since the road ahead of them was towards the mountain range, bringing the bus to a stop at the nonexistent stop signs wasn't necessary. Blank planned on getting everyone under his care to their destination, and that wasn't out of the question! Besides, even if his driving was a bit haphazard, there were very few cars to worry about in the area.
"Ah yes, the students-" Blank would practically hum the start of one of his monologues, the heavy breathing through his gas mask making him sound more like one of those fanatical villains rather than an excitable homeroom teacher,"I, for one, think that this is a great opportunity for the youth! We didn't have the kind of lessons that the students today have, so we have to make sure we guide them towards the same heroic destiny they're already on their way to!" He'd nod, humming short 'mhm's as he agreed with himself,"Yes, yes! I couldn't have said it better myself, you two! I think it's perfect! Absolutely marvelous!" It's true that Blank preferred to speak in a flowery fashion as he was quite the extravagant individual, but talking the ears off the two teachers behind him was just torture,"I'm very excited to see how my class does! 1-A is full of bright stars! Hoshizora-san and Orion-kun are the two I'm expecting to learn the very most from today! They're the head of homeroom, and they're such hardworking individuals!" The hands that were clutching the steering wheel came off of it as Blank hugged his arms tightly just from the thought of his star pupils prospering. There was nothing but pride for the students he had the opportunity to teach, and he could fill his chest swelling with love. He giggled like a schoolgirl before the bus started to curve to the right,"Oh! Right!" Blank's hands found their way on the wheel again, nodding to himself as he remembered that he was, in fact, driving,"But tell me, you two, who do you expect to learn the most from today? I hate playing favorites, since I'm sure that plenty of the students here would be able to bring some sort of lesson out of today, but there are some of the youth here that just grasp teachings easier!" If one heard Blank, they might begin to think that he got high on hearing himself talk. It was just the way he was, however, and the young teacher was as passionate as he was easily-distracted!

Itsuki protested as the man let go of the steering wheel, his sing song words falling on deaf ears as Itsuki focused on maintaining speed and braking when needed. He had taken to standing in the walkway so he could better see the road, instead of sitting down next to Nimue. This was insane... he had drivers all through growing up and never once felt the need to be checking outside the window to constantly. Anxiety was getting to him, U.A would be the death of him. Itsuki would let out a heavy sigh as Blank took the steering wheel once more, straightening them out again as they continued their journey.
"Honestly all my students should benefit greatly from this. They need more hands on, un-skippable hero training classes if they want to succeed. Although, there's one in particular who's definitely got the flare needed for this..."
He muttered, but then shook his head. No, he wasn't going to play favorites, that would jsut set the students apart and cause issues among his already small class. No need for that. What might be needed however... was a change in bus driver.
"You sure you're okay driving the bus, Blank? You haven't touched the pedals since we left off..."
He noted, glancing at the man uncertainly and not daring to look back at Nimue.

Nimue Nakahara Yuuei's Nurse Nimue stared with big open eyes at the teacher in front of her and at Itsuki because this surely did not seem like a good plan anymore, she surely had ask Blank if he could drive a car or well a bus and look at them go now, eeeeh what should she say? She was listening, trying to be as polite as possible to what Blank was talking about and she understood the rising stars of class 1-A, she had the pleasure so to say to meet them to and she was rather happy about that but oh boy he let go of the steering wheel! She stretch her hand to lean over the balustrade between the driver and herself but at least Itsuki was there, faster than her, beter prepared apparently to this, mild issue that might be at hand, nah they were fine. Blank would now hold back to the steering wheel they were doing fine in a few minutes. She looked up at Itsuki who no longer even sat next to her and gave him a wry smile, maybe she should have asked Tobias to drive? Could he? She seriously had no idea but this wasn't good either, maybe Itsuki should take over, she nodded to herself for the idea. She thought about the questions that Blank asked them and wondered, to be honest, she did not know much about the first years as she wasn't a homeroom teacher, the two of them clearly were and she had only seen them in biology class, that wasn't really a work of wonders class it was just mandatory.
As she thought and listened she surprisingly looked up at Itsuki, "And who is that?" She whispered, because obviously the children shouldn't overhear them but looking behind them it was hard to listen in to them speaking. She thought a bit more, "I do agree mostly would be able to learn from it, it's finally another situation than simply the city as they are used to. I don't really know the first years too well to see much benefit, I do hope they pick something up for the next biology class but we will see." Besides this early in the morning they might be simply tired. And hopefully no one would get lost or run away because that would be an issue. She would see, she should think the best, this was a way to get a little less stress, a little bit more away from Tokyo and the issues and so on, it will be fine.
She looked from one at the other again as Itsuki asked if Blank was okay with driving. "Can you drive a bus?" |
