STORYTELLER It's been so long, for many it'd maybe feel like any ordinary life, but this swordsman, a young lady with a dream that most would laugh at first glance. Ten whole years of vigilantisme, ten years she has been wishing for this era, and finally when the heroism became official, positions for Pro Hero, it was her time to fully shine. It's been two years since she got her Pro Hero license, one of the first to be first in the queue, waiting eagerly to display her work and techniques, it has all paid off, because now she finally has someone that loosk up to -her- rather she looking up to someone. She was the mentor this time around, and with a promising Hero School she got the honor to guide students of heroism, not only one but two. In reality though she desired to have a dozen, she was that excited for this, but she needed to be professional, and to be determined with who she chooses. Luckily for her two of her invites was accepted, and of course it was a paif with a great dedication for weapon handling.
Soul Fire was standing straight with her arms crossed, on the outside her posture was shining with confidence with an exotic hero outfit that fits to her origin and fightingstyle. She wore a heavy outfit that had baggy clothes with straps and minor armor pieces on her limbs, with a wide conehat covered in talisman seals, a tradition from her long line of family to wear whenever they need fortune the most.
It was super early, where she stood was on the empty wide space infront of the school, the sun slowly rising up behind the horizon, creating a long wide shadow infront of her. She was expecting her interns to be early birds, but she didn't wanna arrive after they arrived to the meeting spot, so she took the option by coming in early, 3 hours early infact, and she's been standing there all the time, displaying her steel forged patience. In the letters for the start of the duo's internship she had planned a preview taste of what is required to fully hone her skills, a trip up to the mountains! But this was no ordinary hiking trip, it's a travel to explore the potential in their might and will, and bring that out through their soul.
''This is it, I can officially tutor fellow pursuers of justice, gosh I am so excited I can't even make my legs stand still, but I need to look good! Give them a positive first impression! This might be my only chance ever to teach the path of the sword, that is my duty as a Grandmaster!'' As she was hyping herself up with her eyes glimmering in excitement she kept standing in place as she awaited for the two fellow sword users, how early will get get up she wonder.

The Weight of my pride do i really need that? For ten years I have been polishing this sword;
Its frosty edge has never been put to the test. Now I am holding it and showing it to you, sir: Is there anyone suffering from injustice?
- "The Swordsman" by Jia Dao
The poem had been recited to her a few times before, by her Mother, back when Tetsuko was still a young a budding swordsman. Those few lines, that captured the very essence of the nobility of the vigilant and just blade wielders that she thought her family to be, resonated with the Shindou lass. For her family, in her eyes, had always held justice and law in highest regard, had always been watchful for any evil that might threaten their ways. Whether such noble ideas about her family were well substantiated was irrelevant; the fact of the matter was, Tetsuko Shindou had thusly had no trouble concluding that the path of a Hero was the right one for her.
For what better way to show the righteousness and pride of the Shindou blades?
Of course, to do such a thing, she could not rely on her family alone. Her teachers, plentiful and wise, would be key to Tetsuko's rising as a swordsman, to the accumulation of her techniques and the perfection of her abilities. During her time at U.A., being able to train her Quirk freely, she'd met many such teachers, who'd all had some way of imparting their knowledge upon her. However, she had a feeling none would be quite as capable of teaching her as the Pro Hero whose internship she would be attending.
Soul Fire, a woman who captured quite well Jia Dao's own image of a just swordsman.
She was quite excited to have the opportunity to meet her, one of the few people whose image rivaled that of Tetsuko's own view of her family. After all, just like Ryouichi Shindou, Tetsuko's Grandfather, Soul Fire had shown that the path of the sword can be carved with justice! However, unlike her Grandfather, Soul Fire's own vigilantism had lead to her taking on a role as a professional Hero, making her yet more suited as a teacher to Tetsuko. To elucidate the importance of professionalism, swordplay, and wielding one's quirk alongside their weapon... It was quite the blessing to have this chance.
Even her family and Masters in Kashima impressed upon her how vital it was that she learned all that she could.
So Tetsuko took all her excitement to heart, and would hold it close as she prepared to meet the woman!
Early in the morning, as the rising sun made its appearance, Tetsuko would set out a good half an hour before the meeting time, with the intention of arriving early to warm up for whatever their internship would entail. It had been described as a trip up the mountains, but Tetsuko's time at U.A. had taught her by now that things were never that simple. This was going to be a trial, of course it would be!
She'd dress herself in what seemed most suitable for the path ahead, without over-preparing. Having donned some worn running shoes and tracksuit, Tetsuko would decide to battle any cold with the stylish blue and white Shinsengumi haori that she'd used as a stand-in Hero costume from time to time. Her actual desired design was a work-in-progress...
Once she was prepared, Tetsuko would set out for the meeting place, where she'd spy Soul Fire already there and prepared. As expected of a Pro Hero, she'd already arrived early!
With as much respect and dignity as she could muster, Tetsuko would approach the Pro Hero, bowing deeply in greeting.
"Good Morning, Soul Fire. It's an absolute honor to be here." The Shindou girl would utter firmly, rising from her bow and standing upright as she spoke. "I'm grateful for your invitation, and will be sure to make the most of this opportunity. I would shame all of Jikishinkage-ryu not to." That reminded her of something, actually.
"I'd do well to make my Grandfather proud with what I learn here, so I look forward to your teachings." Tetsuko would say with a strong smile. Her admiration was, perhaps, a bit too clear.

STORYTELLER She didn't move an inch during the young swordswoman's approach, Hisomi stood with a steel solid pose and eventually gestured her attention to Tetsuko, observing the familiar attire she first saw her during the Sports Festival. Her eyes was barely visible under the shadow of her conehat, her jade coloured eyes met with Tetsu's sight of admiration, but truth be told, Soul Fire was secretly an extreme fan of younger heroes, and she was on the verge to express such equal admiration, perhaps even more, in a not-so-professional manner. She exhaled out slowly, executing a traditional gesture of respect by holding her palm and fist against eachother and bowing ever so slightly.
''It is an admirable trait to recognize one's skill, while you may be a young pup you have most certainly grown great heights, it is an honour to teach down my experience down to a promising student.''
And just like that the internship has officially started, a rough path was about to unfold for Tetsuko, but before that Soul Fire presented Tetsuko a scroll, it was bound by a crimson thread.
''To exceed yourself and your own expectations you have to let go of your worries and fear, accept this scroll and when the time comes you may open it for guidance, so be wise and trust your judgement.'' With the advice given Soul Fire did not hesitate to turn around, facing exit and got into a readying dash pose. ''We have a long path ahead so we must make haste, let us not take our early arrival for granted, follow my steps.'' She tipped her hat downwards to fully block the rising sun from her view and began to sprint with an impressive acceleration, but nothing the young swordswoman couldn't follow. And so they both went up to the mountain side of the land, no buses, no other means of transportation, just honest disciplined footwork, but once in a while Soul Fire waited on a few spots on the way for Tetsu to catch up if necessary, displaying her amazing movement by dash between trees or run on mere wires.
''Keep your senses strong, the thirst you're feeling is only a worry that you can't let in, your body is an amazing work of art and can withstand ten times worse conditions than most anticipates!'' She shouted at Tetsuko from a telephone pole as they were just about outside of Musutafu, Soul Fire skimmed the country side and the bright blue sky. ''We are merely halfway to the mountain side, that's where the real challenge begins my young future hero!''

The Weight of my pride do i really need that? Tetsuko would bow her head at Soul Fire's compliments, partially to hide her own elated look at the respect she was being granted by this great Hero. "You honor me with your words. I'll do my best to live up to your expectations." If Soul Fire had gone as far as calling her a promising student, Tetsuko would have to make sure that assessment wasn't incorrect!
Her evidently 1-on-1 internship had now begun, and Soul Fire started by presenting Tetsuko with a scroll. With a curious look in her eyes, Tetsuko took it into her hands, expecting some kind of explanation. "I see. I shall keep it close." The Shindou girl uttered, holding it firmly at her side. The time when she let go of her worries and her fears... That time... Was not near, not by any means. Loathe though she was to admit it, Tetsuko was far, far from letting go of so many things, so many vile things, that were still stuck close to her. Hopefully, this internship would seek to improve her nonetheless, and whatever was within this scroll would be a part of that.
Before she could think too much about it, Soul Fire announced they had to make haste, and Tetsuko nodded firmly, following the Hero from behind. There wasn't much room to build up, with the Hero dashing off into a sprint right from the get-go. Not about to let her self fall behind, Tetsuko followed closely, her own iron moving in her legs to make their quick motions easier. Though she wasn't the most mobile, if it was footwork and momentum, Tetsuko could keep up without too much concern.
Soul Fire's grace was incredible, and Tetsuko was a bit ashamed all she could do was rush forward rapidly while using iron spurs from the bottom of her feet to keep grip on steep slopes. This was their transport; it was important she didn't push herself too hard at the start, for Tetsuko didn't think they'd be getting on a tram up the mountain anytime soon.
Fortunately, Tetsuko had stamina far beyond that of your average Joe. Unfortunately, Soul Fire's training regiment was still something else. All the ironblooded lass could do was nod along to her words, taking them to heart as she kept her breathing steady. Indeed, the body could be pushed to amazing feats, of that Tetsuko was well aware!
"I won't give in, Sensei!" The swordswoman proclaimed proudly, her own eyes glancing up at the bright sky ahead. Forward was the only direction they could go, through any obstacle, unyielding to any hindrance; that was the way taught to her by the Iron Will of Kashima, by its Silver Hand too. The way of Jikishinkag-ryu, and by extension all who wielded their bodies as weapons.
What trials awaited her, Tetsuko knew not, but she would face them no matter how daunting they might seem. That was what this internship was for, after all. To push her yet beyond her own limits!

STORYTELLER Did Soul Fire expect Tetsuko to ace every obstacle that was on the horizon? Of course not, she is never about results, but effort, Soul Fire has failed numerous times, even when expectations were high. But that was the only way Soul Fire knew, and it was the way every warrior should experience. She needed to test out her student, and that meant to push the student to her absolute limit. Before they knew it they finally reached a landscape with alot of hills, the path to the mountain range was now in sight, a perfect opportunity for Soul Fire to ounce the challange for her student. She stopped at one of the poles and watched Tetsu quickly follow up, jumps down to only stand face to face against her. ''Here's your first trial, pursuer of justice! Right behind me is the last path until we hit the start of the tall land heights! You know you've reached it when you walk past a sign in red colour, the trial is very simple, reach that sign! No matter what! Do you understand?'' Soul Fire spoke with an outmost strict tone, she was finally getting serious with her teaching methods, and she kept quiet for any additional detail.
Once getting the clear she walked to the side of Tetsuko and nodded to her with her arms crossed. ''You might be wondering what's the catch, and that is a fair thought, but in the heat of a battle you can't ask the enemy what their plan is, face the trial of the unknown with bravery!'' It was as simple as that, Tetsu only needed to reach that sign, which was well above a kilometer or two away. But just as Tetsuko were allowed to begin sprinting Soul Fire did an outmost sneaky trick, or rather childish act. She casually tripped Tetsu the second she tried to dash forward. ''Wah! Hahahah!'' Soul Fire put up with a mockish voice to act like a villain, or something, she enhanced the effect by putting on a derpy devil mask and giving Tetsu a few teasing hand gestures. ''You really thought you can do this? Huh?! I will trick you and decieve you during your path, the path is unforgiving! Waaahahaha!'' One thing was certain, Soul Fire weren't gonna let Tetsu get to the mountain range without trouble. ''You can do whatever you want to get to the mountain, but you are definitely not getting past me! The Oni cursing this road!'' She then did an impish dance, to one foot to another she hopped from side to side.

| No I ain't running running running yeah I'm coming coming coming yeah Knocking all these demons that been tryna run up on me yeah Oh I keep on fighting, they keep coming coming coming yeah I'ma keep keep on fighting till I'm gone I NEED THE GLORY |
Soon enough, Tetsuko would reach her first obstacle. Only a short while after the beginning towards the mountain path, Soul Fire would suddenly jump down from her position on high, landing in front of the Shindou girl and beginning to explain what exactly this first trial was. It sounded simple enough, at first, strive ahead and reach that sign. Things were getting more serious, however, and Tetsuko knew better than to take this teacher at her word. No task prescribed by such an esteemed master could really be so simple. The woman seemed to understand Tetsuko might be thinking this as she moved to Tetsuko's side, countering with the point that all she could do was strive forward with courage. "You're right, Soul Fire. Hesitation is defeat!"With that proud declaration, the young swordswoman would rush forward, not that she got very far. Thanks to the Hero, Tetsuko would trip almost immediately, eating dirt right in front of Soul Fire. It was a pretty embarrassing position, all things considered, but the ironblooded girl was quick to understand what exactly the master was doing. As Tetsuko got to her feet, she sighed to herself, disappointed she hadn't anticipated this sooner. As Soul Fire did that impish little dance, enjoying herself perhaps a little too much, Tetsuko would stow away the scroll she'd been provided, tucking it into her shoe and pulling her gym pants over it. "I should have realized it would not be so easy. That being said, I have no intentions of backing down." Tetsuko would declare readily, throwing her arm to the side and letting iron burst out, rapidly forming a blade in her hand. "I will give my all, Oni! After all, slaying ogres is something I'm not at all bad at..."Perhaps she was having a little too much fun with it too. With a grin on her face, Tetsuko rushed forward again, this time her blade raised in a central guard. That wasn't all though, as Tetsuko let iron flow from her shins, armoring her legs and feet to make herself harder to trip, as iron spurs poked through the soles of her shoes to ground her better. Never one to shy from the challenge, Tetsuko was ready to face the Oni's trickery in the best way she knew: By moving forward no matter what, as that unyielding spirit was at the heart of the Jikishinkage-ryu! words: 000 • tags: you • notes: stuff

STORYTELLER She kept up the childish attitude even when the young swordswoman declared her ambitions, Soul Fire didn't attempt to make a second trick when Tetsu went charging straight ahead. ''AH BUT A FOOLISH DREAM IT IS!'' She jumped swiftly to the side to avoid from the bumrush, but as soon Soul Fire landed on her left tiptoe she immeditaly sprung upwards into the air. Watching down at Tetsuko charging with full force made the imp impression to cackle, lounge into a nearby tree, then another, and yet another, she rustled within the thick masses of leaves until she had gone through six trees. Then like a true predator she bursted out from the last tree, holding a nice stack of firm branches all sharpened to look be efficient spears. But as it turns out, the path to the red sign was not so far as one could believe, already coming into sight in the distance however..
''However your big might be, you cannot defeat the weapon of nature! HYAH!''
Being this real into the evil imp act had Soul Fire go full on out with her skill, launching the many thick spears into the path infront of Tetsuko, creating several obstacles to ruin the running speed of her charge. But Soul Fire kept two spears by her side when landing, standing on the other side of the spear ifnested path and doing an intense pose with the two spears spinning in her hands. ''You shall not take another step more, because I have the battle floor!'' She shouted out proudly as she jumped onto one of the ground planted spears with the tip of her foot, holding both of her spears infront of her in the form of an X mark.
''And soon your own SOOOOUL!~''

Up the mountain was the only way Tetsuko had to go, so she saw little reason not to move straight on ahead. However, as she charged forward, Soul Fire would move away, leaping away into the air as she prepared her own attack. Tetsuko used this chance to keep moving onward, keeping her eyes amidst the treeline, following the rustling until the Hero finally burst out, wielding branches like spears! The battlefield was soon littered with the obstacles, Soul Fire herself landing a short distance away and presenting a pair of them while declaring her control over the battlefield. The Shindou girl slowed her pace as she approached, but didn't lose confidence.
Coming to a brief stop, Tetsuko grinned up at the impish "villain". "You can slow me down with this, but that's just about all you'll do." Moving her katana to a one-handed grip, iron flowed out of her other hand, forming a shorter wakizashi that she gripped tightly. Now with two blades, she was ready to carve out her own path amidst the thicket. "If the battlefield is in your grasp, I'll cut it out!" Dashing forward once more, Tetsuko would sharpen her blades in her hands, slicing through the branches as she came to them, moving slower but more purposefully as she tried to remove the obstacles quickly and efficiently with her pair of blades.
This was admittedly feeling a bit more fun than she had expected, but Tetsuko still felt a bit of unease. There was something more that Soul Fire was planning, of that there was very little doubt!

STORYTELLER She stood then silent, staring at the young challenger with hope filled eyes and a smile of confidence, she saw and took full akcnowledgement of Tetsu's determination, and as such the student was on the right path to victory. However, Soul Fire was not planning giving the young future hero a breeze, she wanted to show a storm, a powerful might that will frighten the bravest of warriors, for she has been frightened too many times in her youth. ''Oh you will cut through it, but nature can be unforgiving!'' Psyching herself up, Soul Fire prepared for the charging slashes by Tetsu as the many obstacles got chopped down by the sharp iron blade.
And as soon Tetsu approaches the final obstacle, Soul Fire opposes said charge by planting one of the two spears straight infront of the student. There was nothing special in appearance with this spear, but it was placed directly infront of the spear Soul Fire stood on. Both of the planted spears gets cut and forces the 'Imp Demon' to jump off from the tip, jumping backwards with a blackflip and standing with just one spear left, and a wide road covered in cut up branches. ''You can feel your power making these obstacles seem like nothing, but what will you do once you are met with the impossible?'' She finishes her sentence right before landing gracefully on the ground, mid motion from Tetsu's offensive charge. Soul Fire launches back an equally offensive move with her lest spear, but slashing it as if it was a sword against Tetsu's blade. The moment of clash made a loud sharp noise of metal crashing against something abnormally sturdy. The tree spear was not budging, nor falling in pieces, it stood it's ground with Soul Fire gripping the base of it with both of her hands, chuckling the same impish voice she uses for her character.
''Mhmhmh, did you expect to cut through my pole? Sharpness is only half of what you need to be able to cut anything!'' The tree branch was showing off a reeking black mist, like a lively black flame covering from the bottom to the top, revealing her quirk in use. ''My willpower is my strength, what is yours young one?'' She asks before pushing with her enhanced pole, the tremendous strength behind the push forced Tetsu to be shoved back two meters, and a result from said push showed a small dent on her blade from the tree pole. ''What will you do? You don't have the strength to cut my weapon, so how will you reach the mountain? Do you feel hopelessness growing inside of you?'' She continued asking, pointing her weapon towards Tetsu with one hand on the base, the black flames flickering from the small wind flowing from the east side.

Post by Tetsuko Shindou on Oct 26, 2019 5:24:02 GMT -4
It was a simple truth to Tetsuko, that she should never yield in the face of any adversity. From the moment the task started, she swore not to give in to Soul Fire's attempts to impede her. Like all things she faced in this realm of trial and combat, failure just wasn't an option for her. Or, rather, for Tetsuko... The thought of failure was too unpleasant to consider.
Too many people's pride was riding on her success.
Bringin her blade to bear against the obstacles, its wicked age slicing cleanly, the Shindou girl would quickly find herself stopped by a spear planted directly in front of her, only to cut it down and find the Imp left with but one leg to stand on. "I'll figure out what to do about the impossible, once you show me something that I can't face!" Her pride, her unwavering intent, rang in her words. The road was covered in split branches, a sign of her successes. Surrounded by them, the Shindou girl did not find the prospect of failure with thinking about.
As Tetsuko's offensive rush continued, the Shindou swordswoman would not find the last spear so easily cut, evidently being made of something far different than the others. Gritting her teeth the Shindou girl stopped, a brief look of annoyance flashing across her face. It was not a sense of despair, however. Instead, it seemed more a look of obsession. This was a great trial. She must overcome it.
She must always overcome.
The strange black mist was revealed to be the cause of the spear's sturdiness, as Soul Fire proclaimed her own willpower to be the source of the strength. Far from discouraged yet, Tetsuko brandished her sword, a look of determination not yet faltering. "My strength is my pride, which I won't let you stop." Tetsuko declared. She was the heiress to the Shindou family. The Daughter of the Silver Hand of Itako. Granddaughter of the Iron Will of Kashima. Great Granddaughter of the esteemed 21st Headmaster. To succeed was a necessity, built upon the blood and sweat of her ancestors!
Soul Fire pushed forth with her spear, Tetsuko blocking it with her own blade, which was dented by the weapon. This was but one impediment, not nearly enough to break the weight of the burdens she was carrying. The Shindou girl grinned lightly towards Soul Fire, thinking of how to proceed.
"I won't give up. If I did, that just be an insult to the trials you're giving me." Tetsuko declared intently. Getting past the hard spear wasn't going to be easy, so she'd have to reconsider her approach... Slicing through it was out of the question. The Shindou girl had the utmost respect for the Hero before, that reverence making the fact that her Quirk was going to be impossible to surpass and cut through a foregone conclusion.
So, she'd simply have to bypass it.
Rushing forth again, Tetsuko would seem to be as reckless as before initially, swinging her blade against Soul Fire's spear with force, likely to simply dent the edge again. However, this time, as soon as she clashed against the spear, Tetsuko thrust her sword forward...
There was no way a normal sword could cover the distance of a spear. Tetsuko's blade was not a normal sword.
Steel flowed forth, extending her katana forward at Soul Fire to attempt to force the woman back! It was a risky technique that left her open to some damage, but the Shindou girl needed to scale this mountain first and foremast. As the iron shot forth, her blade extending like a cannon towards Soul Fire, Tetsuko exclaimed the name of one of her signature techniques:
"HIRAZUKI : KAGERETSU!"

STORYTELLER Soul Fire swished her spear idly around her black flame coated hand with both of them monolouging eachother. Truly Soul Fire could admire the supporting pillars to the young Shindou Student's pride, it was true genuine raw form of pride that one could not easily look away from. Soul Fire kept her voice for herself for now, words was no longer an affecting factor to the circumstances, Tetsuko kept her head clear from the misguiding threats of the swordswoman. ''Even being unable to cut the opponent's will you still put in your all, but now the question begs whether you are naive or very brave, or have you figured a way to overcome my trial?'' This was getting intriguing for Soul Fire, she always wanted to tutor someone and be a rolemodel, but to even teach someone as high as Tetsuko must've meant the mentor was the one needing to step up. ''If you desire prove yourself then surely you won't mind me going all out, pride is not about winning or losing, but to stand up and not back down!'' SHouting back at Tetsuko with equally mighty words meant it was time to give a true showdown.
Soul Fire brought her spear up to her front, tracing it with her palm before taking a firm grip near the middle, where she snaps it clean in two with a simple thrust of her lower palm. She tossed the lower half away, leaving her with a branch at the of an average sword, but she held it tighter, the flames flickering with bigger movements, and her stance was getting into an offensive state. ''You've been up against an Imp, but time for you to face a demon.'' Soul Fire got ready for the young Shindou's retaliation, responding back with a clash of weapons, the sharp loud banging noise of steel hitting something unbelievably hard sorared into the sky and put a complete stop to both warriors. ''Same type of strike, same result... hm?'' The odd sensation of the blade slowly grinding against the enhanced stick made Soul Fire raise an eyebrow behind her mask, Tetsuko got into a motion of thrusting the sword directly towards Soul Fire's front.
''Bold move!'' Soul Fire's strength was no mere trait, she let go one hand from her weapon and swished her hand up to the tip of Tetsuko's sword, grabbing it dead on the sharp side as the flame coated hand holds it in place, halting her movement a few inches away from Soul Fire's shoulder. ''Are you perhaps getting desperate? I can hold your body back with one arm if I have to.'' Soul Fire then slowly readjustes her pressure in her hands, slowly bending the sword to the side, physically bending the cold iron with the help of both of her hands. ''You won't give up, but what will you do once you lose your sword?'' Soul Fire felt there was more to come, but truly even her couldn't think of a way the young Shindou can escape this scene with a broken sword.
