Hey everyone! Before I get this finalized I'm hoping to get some input here! It was recently brought up in conversation that other sites have donation pages set up on their forums. These donation buttons are usually to have ad block removed among what I more commonly see, a pay to win system. Now before anyone goes freaking out, no I'm not wanting to implement a pay to win! That's a dumb dumb idea and we'll just toss that out the window. What I would like to do is set up a 3 tier Patreon system. 2$ Donation gets you a fancy, mini icon in front of your name on site (will show screenshots when I get to my PC)  5$ Donation gets you your own Discord color and fun custom group (you get to call your color whatever you want). 10$ Donation gets you both the site Icon, the Discord color and bragging rights (ok when we come up with something cooler we will replace the bragging rights). Now, the next question you're probably wondering is; what do we do with all the extra cash we might get once we've purchased the ad block. EASY, we continue to give back to the community. Pending just how much money we end up getting every month, we may raffle off a few 1 month subscriptions to Discord Nitro (only amongst donators). If we get way over the adblock amount I was thinking of hiring a coder (who's codes I usually tip for the site ^.^;  to help make the website extremely unique! The theme would stay the same just help organize and make things cool. Anyways! That's my plan. Share your thoughts. |

I Think this is a WONDERFUL Idea! I think one of the things we could use the money for would be to get the proboards to the elite status. I know like..there is a certain upgrade or something for sites that count them as top tier. I forget what it's called. Another good patreon reward could be maybe access to a special discord channel where the patrons can give input or help staff on setting up events? Maybe one of the goals that comes with a reward could be like adding that special inventors island thing from the movie with the big dance and everything? lots of potential for character stuff there.

I meant that as an overall reward for site loyalty to the point we hit a specific goal we get the island added as a location for EVERYONE to use even if not just for an event. |

In general I like this idea especially cuz it will be for all and not a pay to win system.
I am only not entirely a fan of the discord group thing. Mainly cuz everything was changed to fit how the site looks and we skipped being all in categories such as villains and so on when I first joined and now we sort off go back to that only with names and colours that might make no sense. (Yes I read this first and still didn't understand Risa's colour. Yet nice one) and thus potentially confuse newbies as well and not showing anymore who might be ST or staff? I mean you can't see Risa her pink so I am assuming if staff does it they are allowed another colour too or are they blocked from it?

You currently have - EXP, and you gained - EXP for this thread! so in terms of who is staff and who is storyteller, I have everyone divided in the sidebar, so you may not be able to tell if they are offline without looking up their tags, but if they are online they are sorted into the category of what they are (Admins, mods, staff, storytellers have their own categories) As for member faction groups, it doesn't work in discord because the highest group on the list is the color that shows, and everyone's got a character in multiple factions (for the most part), so it doesn't accurately reflect who is in what faction. THATS why we made everyone the same color <3 |
