"The sun’s out and it’s here to stay! At thirty degrees, it looks like we’ve been blessed with an early summer scorcher this weekend! Get outside and enjoy it while it lasts!" [break][break] The radio blared out to a near-lifeless beach. June was just outside of the peak holiday season, and the sparkling sunshine was enough of a surprise that few locals, and even fewer tourists, had planned a trip to the beach. In the case of Taiyōkō-sen beach resort, it was unknown enough and so far from Musutafu’s hotspots that it almost endured a weekend without any guests… ‘Almost’ being the key term. Thanks to two teenagers with an unreasonable amount of pocket money, the beach was being put to good use.[break][break]
One of them was using the quiet time to get some practice in. The waves were high, and with nobody to watch her wipe out, Emi could surf without fear. Did she know how to surf? Barely, but she did know how to make the shape of a surfboard out of the salt in seawater, and she also knew how to manipulate that board into carrying her across or above any surface. Treading her construct against the water was close enough to surfing, and to anybody that approached the scene, the only giveaway that it was anything but that was her white crystal board.[break][break]
There was probably an argument to be made for the illegal usage of her quirk, though she’d thought ahead on that regard. For one, there was a good reason why she’d chosen a private resort. Besides the lifeguard and the occasional custodian, the only people around to snitch on them were their fellow students, granted access upon showing their student ID. As long as none of them became a danger to the people around them, they’d turn a blind eye, and if one of their own was willing to betray them, then they would at least know to watch out for next time. Besides, who would be willing to stop the birthday girl from enjoying her day? What kind of gift was legal trouble? …Well, technically she’d turned seventeen two days ago, but ‘Thursday evening beach hour’ sounded way less appealing. With a whole day and a small beach to themselves, everybody could find something to enjoy themselves with.[break][break]
Surfboards and floaties had been left on a rack near the water’s edge for a few brave souls to join Emi (or die trying). A volleyball net and a pair of balls had been left out to toy with. A hole in the sand with charcoal, with some rocks around it and a metal grill on top made for a cute spot to cook up some meat or fish. Speaking of food, it could be ordered from the resort building – raw or cooked. Ice coolers spread across the beach provided a range of cold drinks, and both them and the deck chairs were shielded from the sun by vibrant umbrellas. Everything they needed for a beach disaster adventure was there, courtesy of the resort.

Cowabunga! Its summer time. R&R which stands for rest and relaxation. Thats exactly what Miku wanted. Today she was supposed to meet with her dad and spend beach summer fun time with him. Nice family fun. But he got busy with Vigilante work, which was a bummer. But Miku was already here and unpacked, so she couldnt just leave as she just got here. She sighed and shrugged the problem off.
She thought about going for a swim, but didnt quite wanna leave her things alone, maybe some sneaky beach pickpocket thief might swipe it. That would suck more. It was just a certain paranoia that while she was having fun in the sea and swimming that her stuff is left unguarded. Miku as much as she wanted to go for a swim, didnt as she decided to just sit on her towel in her beach swimsuit to try and get a tan and maybe see someone familiar, someone she can trust to protect her stuff. She totally blamed her dad for this beach paranoia, he always spoke of villains and petty thieves on beach.
What about Haruuhi and Hana? Well, Miku didnt hear from them. Can one of them come to the beach? Decisions decisions

897 WC I brought you a nerd | Chimera and summer went together as famously as one might expect a person covered in thick, dense fur would get along with growing, sweltering heat. Which was to say "not at all". He usually spent the majority of summer hiding in his room surrounded by fans--those that his roommate, Yojin, did not turn into various mechanical monstrosities a week into their purchase--while chewing on ice-pops or shaved ice or, hell, even just plain ice cubes until the brain freeze threatened to kill him. The heat was almost as bad as the brain freeze, so it was a tough call sometimes which he'd rather grimace and bear with. Yet the heat usually, unfortunately, won. Brain freeze just hurt too much.
So why was Chimera not in an air-conditioned room on the hottest day of the year thus far? Well, because he'd been invited out by one of his friends. Even for one of his friends he might have tried to beg out or suggest a different venue for them to hang out--the school meat freezer came to mind--but this time he didn't have a choice. It was Emi's birthday. That meant he not only couldn't--probably--convince her to pick a less sunny location, but it meant he wouldn't, no matter how much it bothered him. At least it was a private beach so he would only be a panting mess in front of his fellow students and not a bunch of confused, staring beach-goers. Still, that was a small victory overall.
Approaching the beach Chimera had only a few things packed in his black backpack. One was his school ID, which he showed the front desk to be shown to where Emi's party was starting; the second was a cooling jacket Yojin had made for him over the spring; and the third was a towel because, duh, it was a beach and he'd need it to either sit in the sand--sand in his fur was only a degree lower than the heat in the reasons why Chimera hated summer--or to try and dry off should he go into the water; and the last couple items were just bottles of water. He was sure Emi would have the party catered but, hey, he'd rather have them on his person and always in reach, because he would need them. Badly. Was it too late to tell her he'd fainted from heat stroke and needed to reschedule? Probably, and he would never do such a thing anyway.
Chimera stepped lightly over the sand, dressed in a simple white tank-top and swim trunks. How he'd managed to get those on over his rabbit feet was anyone's guess. Magic. Finding a spot as far from the charcoal pit as he could he set down his bag, red eyes scanning the water for the birthday girl.
Ah, yes, there was one other thing hidden in his backpack. But that was going to wait until said birthday girl was ready for her presents. Knowing Emi that might be as soon as her approaching and saying "Hi what did you get me".
He picked a spot in the shade of an umbrella and began sorting through his bag for the cooling jacket. Although nothing could really, truly save him from the summer heat--and it was still very much a beta invention from Yojin--even the slightest cooling feeling at this moment would be a godsend. After a while, though, he realized that the only bundle of fabric in his bag was both too colorful and not nearly wired-up enough to be the jacket. Chimera gulped. Shit. Had he forgotten the cooling jacket at the dorm? Was he doomed to suffer in this heat all day? He could hide in the shade, or dare to get his fur wet and swim, or maybe stick his whole body into the ice shaving machine...
Or he could risk asking a certain roommate to bring it to him.
But that would mean Yojin being here. Even for just a minute, if that, he and Emi would be within line of sight of each other. Even if the two of them were on opposite ends of the beach, he just knew something would go wrong. The vitriol between his friends wasn't going to vanish just because they didn't talk.
...it's not worth the heat to worry about this. They're big kids. A minute won't cause an explosion. Maybe I can just...get him to leave before she sees him.
But won't he wonder why we're at a party without him? Will he ask?
It's Yojin, I doubt he'd want to socialize with so many people without warning.
Taking out his phone he punched in a quick text message, trying not to let his dread seep through with each letter: [Hey Yojin, I left the cooling jacket at home and am in the heat xAx Can you bring it to Dagobah? Near the resort]
He spotted Emi on her shiny white surfboard, snorted softly as he realized what it probably was made of, and waved one large furry paw in her direction. Just get the jacket, hope Yojin was feeling as antisocial as he had been the last few weeks, and get back to this without starting any drama between them.
Here's hoping this doesn't go up in flames.

Man, it's really hot out today!
After looking at UA Chat to see what everyone was talking about, Kumoko found out that there was a beach party hosted by Emi. And all students were invited! Despite not really being very eager to head to the beach, the spider-headed girl figured that today could be an exception. It wasn't that she hated the beach. Far from it! She enjoyed walking around in the sand, building sandcastles, playing volleyball, splashing around in the water (tho never going too deep, as the poor girl knew not how to swim), and just soaking up the sun's rays. No, the reason the girl usually never visited the beach was because of all the looks she would get from people. Those having fun and then freaking out because a girl with a giant spider for a head was wandering around. That killed the fun mood. Thankfully, that would not be a problem here, since Kumoko went to a school where having a spider for a head was actually not a big deal. No having to worry about scaring anyone!
Despite being at the beach, Kumoko was not wearing a swimsuit. First, she had no plans to swim. Second, she was not very confident with her body to show it off. That would just be embarrassing! So instead, the girl wore a pink tank-top, brown shorts, pink sandals, a thin white jacket, and a tan sun hat. The reason for the sun hat was not to hide the fact that she was bald, as Kumoko had no problem with not having hair on top of her head. Rather, there was no way for her to be able to wear sunglasses and protect all six of her eyes at once. Perhaps one day she could get some custom shades made specifically for her. But until then, she would have to make do with a sun hat.
Walking around the beach, Kumoko saw that there were already quite a few people here. Not wishing to disturb anyone, Kumoko walked close to the shore, looking out at the waves. So pretty... It was a shame she could not swim. Otherwise, she would definitely give it a try. Perhaps she would have even tried to learn how to surf! How cool would that be? Though with her spider legs, how would balancing herself on her board work?
Smiling, Kumoko decided to try and build a sandcastle. The prettiest one she could make! And with there being some seashells nearby, the castle would be beautifully decorated. Kumoko began to get to work. If anyone saw what she was doing and wanted to join in, Kumoko would not mind at all. The more the merrier!

Post by Yumi Tasukai on Jun 22, 2019 18:24:54 GMT -4
Yumi had been using the whole summer so far as an excuse to show off all the cosplays she'd been working on on her days off, and with this saturday coming, you'd think that may not be a day to do so. She didn't wanna spoil the atmosphere and show up dressed as some anime character when all of her classmates would be dressed in swimsuits, leaving her out of all the fun as she had to sit to the sidelines just to keep herself dry. Well, that's where you might be wrong, for as with all great anime, there would come a beach episode. In this case, that may not have actually applied given the 'anime-esque' source she'd used wasn't actually sourced from an anime itself, or a manga as far as she was aware, but with the intricate styling of the outfit, and the uniqueness of working on a swimsuit rather than a full costume...Yumi was very happy to show off her work, even if most people wouldn't recognize it!~ With a swimsuit similar to that of a certain Gacha game's redhead, Yumi arrived on the beach, discarding the shorts and hoodie she'd worn on the bus ride over and tossing them in her back to show off her work, hooking the little bag in a sling over the back of her shoulder. Again, she knew barely anyone would get the referance, but she kinda hoped someone might at least like it and ask where she got it just so she could say she ended up making it. Afterall it really was a BITCH to make. She had to scrap like, 6 prototypes in the process of making the final product just cause of all the more 'loose' stringy parts that didn't set right, and even then the 7th prototype was scrapped because, while it looked good, she wanted something that could be worn all the times she went to the beach and it was just not comfortable. Ultimately, this one had worked out, and even if it got a bit scuffed up with some beach fun she didn't mind, she was just glad for a chance to show off her work! And...celebrate Emi's birthday too, of course. Ehehe... Not readily spotting UA's camera girl in question, Yumi moved over to where the food preperation all seemed to be ready for. She didn't see anyone who'd taken up cooking yet and she wasn't too eager to eat herself, but she did notice the coolers and licked her lips at the thought of a cooling can of soda or the like, fishing into one of the coolers and pulling out a simple coca-cooler to quench herself with, snapping the cap open and starting to wander the beach with a warm smile and a satisfied sigh as the soda slipped down her throat, lightly pressing the cold, slightly damp can against the side of her neck, cooling off from wearing her hoodie on the way here. She was definitely more of a cold weather girl even if the sun had it's advantages.

Post by Krahno Kalo on Jun 22, 2019 19:19:34 GMT -4
Krahno was not the most fond of the beach but at the point in time he was only really not fond of the heat and not the warm sands and cool waves that made the experience of the beach fun to most. As he scanned his clothes for something suitable to call a swimsuit he would just look to see that all he had was an older pair of swim trunks that were likely not to fit as they were back when his dad was still alive and well. "This will not do. I need something my size." A small shopping trip was in order as he was going to go out and about in his regular clothes for the time being.
Packing only a few things he would take this chance to bring some sunscreen and a water bottle with him to the taxi bound toward the beach where he would travel to but as luck would have it his travel bag which had his things in it had a bit of a surprise for Krahno when he would open it. First was the fact he had a swimsuit in his size but that was not all it seemed. His mother must of somehow found out about the trip because next to his bag was a large cooler holding what Krahno assumed to be Ice cream or Shaved Milk. "Thank you mother...." he would say to himself as he got in the taxi.
Once he arrived he had made sure he had his student pass with him as well. That was not something he would forget as the birthday girl named Emi was holding this for everyone who was a student. While technically it being his first week at UA he still counted as one. Krahno's violet eyes scanned the beach as he entered the beach area. First thing his noticed was all the girls in their swimsuits.
While most were rather skimpy he noticed a girl he had met before even starting at UA highschool. A certain student that bumped into him on his first day. Violet eyes looked over to her as his lips curved into a smile. "I see you are here too Kumoko. Well this is a pleasant surprise indeed." he would say before exiting the taxi after paying the person driving it their fee. Krahno took his bag and the cooler with the frozen goodies in it with him to the beach.
Smiling was a rarity for Krahno as he would only really do that when he was happy and today was a pretty good one to do that. The girl he healed at the start of his school year was here plus many potential friends from when he was in the UA Chatroom. Krahno was in his standard clothes of course. A white labcoat with long brown pants and black shoes being his usual outfit but he had his travel bag and in it was his change of clothes that would be what he needed to have 'fun in the sun' as others called it. Krahno went over to the food tables and set down his cooler of what he thought was ice cream or shaved milk for the trip.
Instead what he got was something he did not expect. Inside the cooler was a cake but on closer inspection it was a cake with ice cream in it. "I swear my mother likes to do this on purpose." he chuckled as he placed the ice cream cake back in the cooler. His lips curved to a smile again as he then wrote a note on his cooler stating this. 'All guests to this party are welcome to a slice but the birthday girl gets the first bite.' he would write on the note before going over to a nearby changing stall to change into his swimsuit.
After he did so he would be wearing a simple white T-shirt and with dark blue swim trunks that fit his frame as they had snowflake designs on the design of the trunks. "I suppose this will do for the party. Now then I should check up on the others are doing." he would say as he took his change of clothes into his travel bag and went to find a nice place under the shade to relax.

Today was the day! Beach Partaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay! Wooo! Isaac's initial excitement of the event had put him in a particularly good mood the few days leading up to it. he was glad that he and the few others in the chat managed to convince her to actually throw a party and it was a major bonus having it on a beach. She either hired bodyguards, bought the beach or a bit of both he thought wondering if she did just get over her trauma of beaches and rock monsters. it was the one of the only reasons why she didn't want to go to the beach after all. Well regardless what a day top have the event! It was hot as hell at a whopping 30 degrees and Isaac was already sweating. Good thing it was at the start of the weekend before anyone would start coming in their troves to the beach. And being early June also helped. Seemed like everything was lining up for Emi and her party! As for Isaac who suggested to go the beach in the first place, well he wasn't ready at all. Despite all his pestering he never thought of the outcome of Emi actually agreeing with the plan and having a party at the beach and so Isaac had no swimsuit bought for himself to use! Not that he'd go in just a swim suit. Well it was time for some make shift gear that he wouldn't mind getting wet. Just like the good ol' days. After rummaging though his wardrobe for all of 5 seconds, Isaac found a few old clothes that he had not taken out and worn in a while and it just so happened that they were nice and bright! Well the shirt was anyway,. It was a orange and yellow hawaiin looking shirt that one could assume tasted of pine apple! Underneath the shirt he wore a white light tank top and then black shorts for his lower area. Getting on some flip flops too he also found, oddly, a straw hat on his bed so decided to stick it on too and now was looking a little something like this. Having a quick look in the mirror he gave himself he nodded before shooting finger guns at himself with a wink. Isaac also took a small bag with him just of a few things like his Id and a towel or two with a few other odd bits for later. Once he was all set he left the dorms and got on the bus and started texting the group chat a little more. Shaved milk is a thing? Well I'll be damned. He thought to himself as he replied quickly to the chat. DING! Went the button after it was pressed and the bus came to a halt. Thanking the driver, Isaac went to a Korean shop and got some of hat Shaved milk as well as some shaved ice to boot since some people mentioned that too. Hearing about the party the manager even gave Isaac a big ass refrigerator cooler thing which had the logo of the shop plastered over all 6 of it's faces but the blue haired boy wasn't one to complain about free stuff so he graciously took it! After saying he was gonna be there soon he arrived about 20 minutes later. The cooler was super heavy and he had to carry it himself but he eventually got there and set down the big box near the other food stuff. Once h got there he looked around to see Emi surfing of all thing. Cupping his hands around his mouth as a make shift megaphone he shouted at the birthday girl "HEY EMI! I GOT THE STUFF!" He waved over to her as he approached her from the beach. "Pretty nice set up ya got here." He said only now realizing he was seeing Emi in person for the first time. "Happy Birthday again!" He then would go in for a hug and after breaking he'd visibly look around. "Can't believe you bought a beach though." He was honestly astounded that she managed to do this. note to self, if you need anything, as for Emi's helpEmi Ryoko Tachibana

Oh yeah. Now this was heavenly. The sand beneath his feet, the sun in the sky, the sea before him and the world behind; this is what Saito would call a great place to be. Beaches were a rare treat to the students of UA, that’s obvious, in between studies and drills and exercises and the near constant slew of dramas and crises, a genuine time to relax was welcomed with open arms. Literally. Saito stepped onto the beach with arms wide and open as if embracing the cosy warmth of sunlight flowing along his amber skin. He was grinning, taking in a lungful of the salty ocean air and probably some bits of sand with it. Awwww yeah.
Saito was fashionably late of course. The last of all the students to show up. Such was the consequence when he not only had to wait for Hye to get ready, but they ALSO missed the first bus over so had to wait a while. He didn’t regret it though. It meant he got to be with Hye and chat about her day before they had to be social and mingle and shit. He came dressed in beachwear, which was sparse to say the least. His shades; a thin, red, short-sleeved jacket worn open and revealing his bare chest and chiselled abdomen beneath; a black/red pair of baggy swim shorts and an odd little box wrapped up all neat and nice at his side. He didn’t even attempt to hide the large, off-pale burn scar on his right calf. It was eye-catching, but Saito didn’t care much at all.
Needless to say, Saito was in his element! He just about danced onto the beach proper, like a child that hadn’t seen one before. Hye, in her gorgeous outfit, would point out their friends and Saito would look, instantly spotting the pinkette birthday girl. She wasn’t around anytime in the last couple days for him to give her his gift on her actual birthday, but Emi was weird like that. As they approached, Saito would catch the attention of whoever was around with a wave, mischievous smirk and call of “Yo! What’s up, partypeople? Who’s got the fuckin alcohol?”
Passing by numerous schoolmates, Saito was sure to greet them all on his walk towards Emi, calling to each and every one, giving the ones in arms-reach a fist bump or brohug or, in Chimera’s case, a sympathy pat and a ‘keep at it’ expression. It was safe to say most, if not all of them, knew Saito by his name at least – the socialite he was. It was like he’d known everyone on the beach for decades with how friendly he was, how warmly he greeted them all – and how informally he teased them too... ”Sup, Yumi-chan! That a new costume? Ya lookin’ to murder some of these poor boys?” “Great to see you, Miku-chan! Gonna get some photosynthesis going?” “Issac, where’s the fuckin drinks man, I thought you knew a guy?” “Kalo-kun, since when do you go outside?” “Nice hat, Kumoko! Don’t forget to get some food, yeah?” “Jack! Don’t get us arrested!”
“And last but certainly not least, the bitchqueen herself.” Saito beamed at Emi as he arrived before her, having methodically gone through every single person on the beach to arrive, finally, at the lady of the hour. To anyone else, Saito’s attitude would probably be reprehensible – just imagine him insulting Hye in that manner, she’d probably beat him up… Or cry. One of those. “How’ve ya been? Party’s already kickin’ up a storm huh? So many people came down!” After her response and rather unceremoniously, the tall, affectionate boy wrapped Emi in a semi-crushing hug, lifting her from the floor and laughing. “This is for not letting me give you your gift on your actual birthday.” He chuckled, letting Emi go again swiftly after. “Speaking of.” Saito then presented Emi the box he was holding the whole while. It was a glittery, flat, rectangular thing, a cream box wrapped in elegant silver ribbon, the size of her palm perhaps, though longer. She’d likely recognise it as a necklace box, but both she and Saito knew how far jewellery was from his budget… But could he truly have gotten her something so precious? How far back would he have set himself? What would Hye think? Oh god what the hell has he d- But no.
Inside the box, laid simply against blue velvet, was the ribbon of a bow, similar to the ones Emi wears in her hair, though this one was considerably less “designer” and was perhaps the pinkest thing she’d ever encountered. It radiated the pastel colour and shone iridescently in the sunlight. Saito scratched the back of his neck, already moving around her as if to escape explaining the gift. “All those outfits and these bows are the only things that are always – always – in your hair. So, I figured I’d get you one. It’s not as prim as you’re used to, I’m sure, but hey! Gimme credit for trying!”
Whatever her response, Saito would give his close friend a strong smile and pat on the shoulder before heading off to make trouble. If Hye wanted to come along or do her own thing, that was up to her, but if she stuck with him, she’d have to deal with Saito being more excitable than a puppy on this glorious summer day!

There were some things peoples bodies were always ready for in certain times. You were always ready to dive out of some things way, you were always ready to drool when the good smell of food came into your nose... And you were always ready to go to the beach with your friends on a hot summer day when invited! If there was one thing he remembered from last summer, it was hanging out at Dagobah beach with Yumi and Akio. In that regard he knew, that the beaches in Japan were of top quality wherever he would go, which made it a very minor excitement! However, there was something else that Kirk had been yearning for for quite a while over the year, that they hadn't been able to do during their quick visit to the beach! BARBEQUE! There was something about barbequed meat that an American like Kirk couldn't refuse! Especially when it had been ages since he had been able to have some of it. Well, knowing Emi, Kirk assumed as a proper bro, that she would have prepared a grill for them to cook at! And naturally, his Grandpa, being the smarter chef out of the duo, had prepared lots of burger patties to cook, and had even made proper american burger buns, with sesame seeds on top! And of course, he couldn't forget the sportiest part of the beach, swimming and volleyball! So naturally instead of underwear, he wore his classic swimwear, and even prepared his own ball! Honestly, he was propably one of the more prepared folks around! And surprisingly, this was one of those trips that was really hard to jog through, so he for a change, emerged from a bus, with his cooler in his hands. (after all, even he knew carrying food in the pouch was very unsanitary) Walking over to the gate and flashing his student card, he stepped into the beautiful sandy beach, He placed his hands onto his waist, looking around and scanning the area for the place he clearly needed first: The grill! Naturally he saw many of his friends, and even some new faces around the place, Waving his free arm about going "HEYO, dudes!" But, there was naturally one thing he had miscalculated. There were a lot of grills... that is, girls in swimwear. And Kirk had never exactly been good at those sorts of things, with his gaze always feeling like it went to the worst places. As he looked over in some of the girls direction, just to greet them... He couldn't help but turn red.
But, luckily this time he had the most perfect distraction from such things. As his face blushed, his mindwracked the thought of all of the glorious bodies, and molded the thought... into two fresh and plump "PATTIES!" on the grill, sizzling in the sun and fire! Steam almost visibly came out of his ears, as this distraction was cooked up, as his eyes locked onto the actual grill looking spot! "Now, if any of you wants a proper AMERICAN experience in food, get over here!" He shouted, as he proceeded to sprint in a straight line over to it, the sand flying into the air with his sandals, as he ran in the sand barefoot!
As he got over to the grill, he placed his cooler down and opened it, looking over the contents: "Ketchup, mustard, mayo, BBQ-sauce, patties, buns... Wieners!" His grandpa had shoved a packet in there just as an extra! Kirk couldn't help but feel hungry just looking at this. Kirk wasn't exactly the greatest cook by any means... but his Grandpa knew it, so these patties were pretty much made so as to not need much else but frying up! He took off his shirt and threw away his shorts nearby, with his pouch still bulging from the towel and other items in it, leaving only behind a quite tight swimsuit, as the sun hit his skin proper! "LET'S GET COOKING!" He shouted in english as he flexed towards the skies!
And with that, he proceeded to grab a pair of tongs, and started placing the patties on the grill, the delicious sound making him shudder from readiness! "Now, usually, it's really bad to eat before going swimming! BUT!" He placed a couple of wieners as well! "TODAY, I will make an exception!" Couple of buns were added, and he was taking quite a lot of space already on it... But with the delicious smell coming from the sight, it was hard to argue he wasn't doing a good thing! Whilst waiting he would look at the other things around the almost food court now. Somebody had outright brought an ice cream cake! "THERE'S SOME SWEET STUFF TO COOL YOU OFF TOO!" He shouted, bringing it up. Admittedly, he was not the guy for sweet stuff. But hey, Ice cream was propably one of the coolest things out there in summer!

As someone who always wanted to be where things were happening, it was to be expected that Karen would make it a point to attend the big beach party being hosted by one of the upperclassmen. Emi was not someone she was personally acquainted with but she had seen her a fair few times in the chatroom. So perhaps today was her chance to fix that problem. Though if she had to be honest she felt a little awkward attending a supposed birthday celebration while being almost a stranger to the celebrant. But there was no point overthinking it. She was already there so she might as well take advantage of the open invitation. Karen wasn't a stranger to beach parties where the whole venue itself was privately reserved. In her previous school this sort of thing was a fairly common occurrence in the summer particularly because the student population there leaned towards the upper class. So far she had not run into many students in UA with this kind of purchasing power so it was good to keep in mind for the future that the birthday girl was like that. It made her wonder what sort of business background the upperclassman had. Stepping out of the changing rooms with her swimsuit in full view, Karen would quickly glance around to see who was already out on the beach. Or at least she would try. She was a little bit too far away to make out the faces but she would meet up with them soon enough. Most of the attendees were just on the beach which she felt was a waste. The were was a lot of cool blue out there just waiting to be experienced. Dropping off her bag in a place she would easily find later, she headed for the water's edge and stood in front of the rack with surfboards for anyone's use. It was a fine selection. Karen had done a bit of surfing before which she found was great training for balance and stability. Well she wasn't here for training today, but basically she knew the basics and then some for riding the waves. Since no one else seemed to be interested in it, she felt like showing off for a bit. Grabbing a light blue board, she paddled out into the water where the waves were. The water felt great. The cool feeling as she entered in contrast with the hot sun overhead was the perfect beach atmosphere. It didn't seem like the swells were too rough so she was certain it was within her abilities. Catching a wave not long after she headed out, she found that the feeling of standing on the board was still very familiar. At the very least it was a lot easier than the training she had been doing recently. Imagine almost losing your balance from just throwing a punch. It was a hilarious experience considering she was supposed to be a martial artist. But thanks to that surfing felt really tame in comparison. She would cruise along waves eventually crossing paths with the girl of the hour, though not too close so as too avoid any accidents. "Senpai!~"Karen would casually wave as she passed by as it was far too quick for any proper introductions. She would go say hello again later, her board gliding smoothly on the water's surface. She didn't particularly notice anything off about the upperclassman and her white board as she was too focused on her own. She may have still remembered how to surf but it would be bad to get too complacent. After riding it out to the end, she would paddle once more towards the swells to catch another wave.

Ah, the beach. A traditional summer hotspot for teenagers, who show up in droves to fuck about in the ocean, play games such as volley ball or that blind watermelon thing, and everyone tries their hand at obtaining a summer romance. Lads moving in packs across the sand, moving from group of babes to group of babes trying to chat them up, both groups having spent probably around 2-3 months getting their "Summer bodies" Ready for the occasion, dieting, going to the gym, all in attempts to look as good as possible with their shirts off and swimsuits on. Truly, the beach was the dream of most high school students summer vacation. Its probably why most anime dealing with their demographic has a token beach episode, with its own set of tropes and all. So this begs the question: Why the fuck was Red of all people here? He didnt care about most of that kind of stuff, after all. The answer to that question was very simple: In his living memory, ever since he'd come to japan he'd never been to anyones birthday party....or the beach, really. You see, when everyone either hates you, ignores you or a combination of both, you dont get invited many places. His sister had tried to get him to go with her whenever she got invited, but he always declined so she could have fun without him fucking it up for her in some way, especially since he was the protective type. A couple days before, whilst he was running around trying to find something to give Emi as a birthday present, since he thought it was on the weekend, he'd also grabbed a pair of swimming trunks and a jacket, both having a wind motif in their design, on the cheap to wear on the day, along with a couple of bigass water cannons to shoot at people cause that sounded like fun and they were on sale. It was summer, what did you expect? Besides, he needed to cover up some of the scars, atleast until he got to the place. Anyway, he had a couple other choice items with him as he skated from rooftop to rooftop on his way to this resort. Yes, he was still wearing his skates, googles and quirk shit, he never parted with them if he could help it after all. Call it paranoia or whatever you want, but Red still felt he had to be prepared for a fight whenever he left campus, he was still a deliquent after all. Plus the goggles had been modified so he could use em underwater, even with the headphones blaring music. As for the other items, on his back was a pretty big bag containing a cooler full of a bunch of ice cream, cold juice and other things you'd need at a beach, like extra sun screen, a towel, spare set of clothes for going home, Emi's present, the works. Plus water ballons and the cannons. You know, for funsies. What would also be there, slotted inbetween the bag and his back, was a curious looking board. Given his attire, you'd think it was a surfboard of some sort, and you'd technically be half right, since that what he was intending to use it for today. But in truth, it was a new prototype he was working on: A Hoverboard. He'd been working on it since that shopping trip with Tsuji, and he finally felt like it was decent enough to test the thing out in the wild. It probably wouldnt let him fly yet, but it would hopefully be able to keep him off the ground by a few inches. Besides, if it didnt work he could still use it as a normal surfboard...maybe. He had some tools in the backpack to fix any minor issues, atleast. On his way there, While talking on UA chat, Emi'd pointed out that apparantly there wasnt a cake at this party, for some reason, and luckily she'd said this while Red was still close to the shopping district. It only took him a couple of minutes to find a place that sold cakes, and after another few minutes of having absolutely no idea how to buy a cake, he'd leave carrying a pretty big red velvet cake in his arms. There was a bunch of other stuff in there that looked nice but he actually knew what red velvet was, since his sister liked it. He took great care not to destroy the bloody thing by jumping from buildings, so he kept to the ground, dodging people as best he could. Once he arrived, he'd flash his ID at the front desk, who just raised their eyebrows at everything he'd brought, and pointed him over to where the rest of the party was. The first thing he'd do was try and find Emi to hand over her present and the cake, but she was out riding the waves, so probably not a good idea. Instead, he just shouted over to her. "HEY EMI, ITS RED, I BROUGHT THE CAKE YA ORDERED, I'LL PUT IT WITH THE REST OF THE FOOD! HAPPY BIRTHDAY BY THE WAY!" While awkwardly waving. Once he'd done that, he'd placed said cake on a table under all the umbrellas, alongside his cooler of chilled treats. He noted another cooler with a cake in it, and wrote a similar message next to his cake. He looked around at everyone who'd showed up, and noted how many people there were. He said hi to everyone he could, giving both Yumi and Karen a thumbs up cause of their swimsuits, especially since he actually recognised what Yumi was wearing.....good god did he recognise it.
After that, he'd drop the rest of his stuff somewhere, and get to work on some quick final adjustments for the board. Once it was ready, he'd head out to try surfing for a bit, test to see if the board works and can handle it. He'd never done it before, but he was good at skating so he figured the skillset would transfer over atleast a little. I mean, it cant be that hard, right? He'd tell himself as he headed out. This was then followed by a few massive wipeouts as he got a handle on the thing, but once he had he'd join the other surfers, not actively trying to show off but that sometimes just happens when you have a bit of fun. He wasnt that far out either, so if anyone wanted him they could just shout over to him.Boy, it would be a shame if Kaz were to show up and ruin it. He thought to himself.

Post by Kazu Fureu on Jun 23, 2019 13:54:30 GMT -4
This weather sucks.Kaz stares at the brand new empty page in his Chronicle, fresh from the mental oven of sorts. It's a brand new day, and therefore what better way to highlight it with a new entry in the Chronicle? What sort of things can he write about? Must he discuss about the recent revelations he has discovered in class? Can he just talk about the food he ate this morning? Will he discuss how hot and humid today's weather is and why is it so hot, why must it be so hot? Gah, the sweat from his forehead is covering up his vision now! Kaz rubs his eyes and laments his situation. Why must it be today of all days that this weather is on the rise? All he wanted was to chill out and just write down something, not to be bombarded by this...by this heat wave! Honestly, maybe he should have gone to that beach thingy that Chat was going on and on about. It's not that he despises the beach. It's just that...well...okay. He only hates the part with the water. Now, hold on a second. He can swim, alright? He isn't one of those people who will panic when entering the water. It's just that...well. It happened a few years ago. He was just...goofing off and just messing around with his sis, throwing around a ball of sorts. You know how kids are. You know how tempting it is to go to the deeper part of the beach, with no sand bank to lay your feet on top of and use it as a sort of safety guard. You also know how dumb they can be. Oh hey, let's just make a Construct to play with, sis! Just raise my hand above the water, make some Metal, and just make it sol- He didn't drown, okay. He just….he just sank, alright? That's why he isn't a big fan of beaches. He wouldn't dare risk it again...twice...yeah he tried to do it again later on, so that's why he's a bit more anxious to go there. Kaz shakes his head as he sits under the shade, watching some students in beach gear head off. Enjoy your relaxation, potential chosen ones, he'll just stay here and just write...write in the heat...write with no one to talk around. Not even his roommate Red who is carrying some-wait why is he going? Him as well? Now that he thinks about it...a LOT of people are going there. More than he expected! What's all this then? Is this an impromptu special event? Did someone plan this without him knowing? Well, this can't be: As the chronicler of the world, he must know these sorts of things! He can't just be ignorant of social events, otherwise how will he write them down and record them in the memories of the world? It just doesn't make sense. It's not like its a birthday party, right? For someone that he might tangentially know, right? Perhaps someone from the news cl- It's for Emi. It's...it's for miss Tachibana. Ah. Yeah...she did mention that in chat. Well, that seems like a reasonable thing to do. Host a party at the beach while the weather's hot. Risk sunburning, sure. Sounds cool, yeah. Kaz nods his head left and right, struggling whether to follow suit and join the others, a sort of last temptation. Will he forgo his usual outfit and put on some beach appropriate wear? Or will he just...stay here? In the heat? Alone? This is...this is kinda hard to decide...yup...really hard. … I think I brought along some swim shorts shorts and a casual t-shirt to wear.---- Ah yes, the blazing heat is counteracted by the beach air! Kinda! The point is, it is no longer the dull and boring school grounds but the fantastical and sandy and coarse and potential drowing-Why is he here again? Kaz shakes his head as he steps his sandals onto the sand. He was, once again, a victim of peer pressure. Even if it was an indirect method...and no one actually invited him…or told him to. Let's see...whos's here. Ah there's the person whose party revolves around, with a surfboard of such. There's someone he doesn't know, might talk to her to see. There's one of the well known upper-classmates. Heard he's a good singer. There's a...there's a spider girl there...that's kinda cool, if he were to be honest. There's one of the chosen ones, Yumi, with a weird swimsuit, that's weird. Weird patterns for some reason. Anyway, might say hi to her later. There's some guy who looks like he belongs in a snow-related area. Neat. Theres Isaac, who apparently had a role in this set up. Good for him to be able to pull it off. There's another upper classmate, casually chatting it up with the others. There's Kirk, burning it up at the grill. He's not much of a grill person, but he'll make an acception. There's Karen, surfing as well. And there's Red, who has that gift he was working on all night. Some sort of high tech...surfboard, maybe? Whatever, wasn't really paying enough attention to it. Plus, more! More people are here! That's neat! Man, the beach really is something to be amazed at, even if it is a potential death hazard. He smiles a bit as he readies himself to join the others...by just remaining outside the ocean. He waves at some of them and smiles at the ones he knows, as he stares off to the people in the waves. He envies them for conquering the fear of sinking down and unable to get up again. He'll just...hrmm. What can he do? Will he just...stay here in the wet part of the sand? Well, if it's to relieve himself of the heat, yes. But what else can he do? … Oh, silly Kaz. The answer is all around you! It's time to pull out the ultimate test in skill! He shall show everyone here the power that is the chronicler of the world! All this sand, all this water, it shall be the cornerstone to a new future! He shall create the ultimate structure and make sure it stands proud among the others! That's right...he's gonna make a sand castle! But not just any sand castle! He'll shall make a Sand Monument! And nothing shall ruin it! ...Any pail buckets and shovels around, though?

The beach, the go to place for the hot days of summer. The pearly white sands, the cool water that ripple with waves, the many beach goes that come far and wide just to have a relaxing day in the heat. Anyone who plans on coming to this place of wonder and suffering must be one of the following: Here for a gathering, Here because they were dragged here by a friend, or here because for personal reasons. Such as the reason for Feng as she came to beach to relax and try some new techniques at this beach. Coming here on her own and just enjoying the sun in a swimsuit she that was sent to her from home.
“The water is so clear ! Got to remind the friends and family about this when I get back home for the holidays.”
She takes the opportunity to take a few dozen pictures of the beach, for the family back home and to mess with in her free time. But in the distance, she notices a group of familiar faces gathering around, remembering that she did hear about Emi’s birthday party was going to be held around here. The detail slipped her mind until now, but she might as well say hi.
“Well this is a pleasant surprise, fancy seeing them here”
Feng said to herself as she went to pick up her bag and starts walking towards the gathering. Conveniently she did some shopping earlier today for her gift, a stuffed bear with perfume and phone charm, so it saves some time and thankfully the store also gift wrapped it. The heat blisters down on her as she walks, glad to remember that she did put on sunscreen though she does feel a bit antsy walking around in her swimsuit. As she gets closer, she notices a few dozen familiar faces which takes a heavy weight off her heart. The smell of Barbeque overtook her sense of smell which made her eyes glow and mouth water a bit. But immediately jumping into the food is both rude and would reflect badly on her. She goes up to meet the host of set event and formerly greets her. Though their only interactions were a rescue lesson and she may know her other friends more than her, so she kept it brief.
“Happy birthday Emi! this is quite the gathering you have here. I was in the area and surprised to see all of you here.”
As she said her greeting and hands the birthday girl her gift, she went to the grills to check on the food because she is quite hungry and the heat is adding to the hunger.

Post by Iwasaka Shouko on Jun 23, 2019 23:18:51 GMT -4
With a rowdy knock, Iwasaka Shouko would beat on the door of her neighbor in both housing and seating. "Mianon! Mianoooon! Come on, Mianon! You've gotta come! Emi-senpai's having a beach party for her birthday! If we take too long, the Rock Monster will be defeated before we've gotten to take a stab at it!" Shouko would proclaim, although it seemed her reason for attending was... Slightly strange? See, this all began several days ago, when Emi Ryoko Tachibana, a second year at UA, had begun thinking about holding a party for her birthday. Now, this would all be fine and dandy... Except that in the brainstorming process, the topic of beaches had come up. And with them, an anecdotal story of fighting a giant rock beast on the beach.
That was when Shouko knew she had to go! Although it seemed Emi-senpai herself failed to understand the romance, for Shouko, what could be more attractive!? Battling a giant creature, the shifting sands hampering your footwork... A clash of stone against stone! Which was why, upon learning that today was the big day, Shouko had naturally asked if the beast was there as well! And for some ineffable reason, Emi had told her yes. Why she felt like ensuring Shouko would arrive was a good idea, the world may never know.
As for her insistence on Mia coming along... Why, why not? As a fellow Battle Maniac (presumed) and good friend, how could Shouko let Mianon miss such an event as this! And so the twintailed brunette would refuse to leave until her friend had emerged from her room, and yank her along for the ride! But Mia was not the only unfortunate victim of the human whirlwind today, for on the second floor rested her handy dandy camerawoman, Hanamin! And unfortunately for this poor girl, she had left her room unlocked. Even if Shouko had to carry her out over her shoulder, the gamer girl would be coming along.
"Hanamin! Let's go! Here, take this, it's dangerous to go alone!" Shouko would shout as she thrust her camera upon the unprepared girl. Had Hanamin met Mianon yet? Did it matter? Surely they would at least recognize each other from class! It was good enough! "Now come! Let us be off! To the beach!" Shouko would not take no for an answer as she (perhaps literally) dragged her two quiet friends off into the sunset!
Now, to say Shouko was prepared for the beach- She was at least prepared for what she was planning to do at the beach! One stone battle dress lay hidden beneath a simple tunic... Wait, you say, isn't that the same thing she always wears? However, one must always remember, they were going to the beach! How could it be as simple as her usual outfit. That was right, in addition to her normal clothing, Shouko was also wearing...! A thin layer of sunscreen! Naturally! It was important to protect one's skin when you would be out in the sun like this!
It would only occur to her later that she had forgotten something relatively important for the beach.
After one zany misadventure which occured along the way to the beach which Emi had rented out for the day, the story of which may or may not ever be told, the trio would finally arrive! But gazing out over the hot sands, it would be immediately obvious that something was horribly wrong. A look of dawning horror would grow over the girl's face as she failed to find what she was looking for. "Emi-senpaiiiii! The Rock Monster! Where! Where is the promised rock monsteeeeer!" For after all that, how could a creature which had never existed in the first place be there? Shouko fell to her knees in despair at realizing she had been tricked- But how would the two who had been caught up in this by no choice of their own feel?

Mia signed in that defeated nature of one who is going to give in to the demands of another no matter how much it might be an inconvenience. There was simply no way to say no to the Shouko, and if there was she had never heard of it. With this traditional surrender to forces far beyond her control out of the way, she found a suitable two piece that didn't give away too much regarding her derrière, colored an aquamarine that matched her eyes. With a quick glance to the mirror she swiftly threw on an oversized shirt to further apply some more modesty even if it ruined the image the rest of the swimsuit was laboring to produce. "I think this will do nicely. I'm ready to go Shouko." Shouko may have been interested in the monster, but she was interested in the beach and the water it promised, it had been simply too long since her last swim. She emerged from her room and fell into lock step with her kidnapper friend, all prepared for a fun time.
Of course it didn't escape her notice that she had no idea who Emi-senpai or Hanamin was but she imagined she would soon find out the details. Perhaps had she been given more time to prepare she could have procured something to offer up in sacrifice to the birthday celebration or even some refreshments to provide but if one was to believe Shouko, there would be combat instead. As they walked she took in the details of the area offering a look of empathetic concern and a wave to the aforementioned Hanamin. It would be nice if they could bond in some respect as well, perhaps as survivors of the human whirlwind that occasionally struck with social consequences.
There are some things that must never be mentioned even in passing. The story of how they managed to find their way to the beach was one no torturer or spy cracker would ever manage to pry from Mia's mind. Fortunately the smell of the beach seemed to wash away any notions of awful hap stances and put one in mind of enjoyable things to come. Mia scanned the beach taking in the view and noting the vast number of people out and enjoying the weather. I think that's Krahno, but I haven't met anyone else here yet. Of course this simple view of the area proved what she had suspected all along. There was no monster to be seen. The disappointment radiating from Shouko all but proved what she had witnessed. In a way she was glad for it, but seeing Shouko so broken up was a bit distressing.
Mia patted the other girl on the back and spoke in a soothing tone hoping to assuage the disappointment. "There there, I know it's not a rock monster but perhaps a water fight would be fun too?" She felt a deep seated regret the moment the words left her mouth, realizing the horror that just might be unleashed. "Or perhaps you could make some introductions? I haven't met most of the people here." While outwardly calm and collected, it could be surmised that Mia would like nothing better than to bury her head in the surf and avoid the storm's further intensification.
