Thanks to everyone who signed up! Below is an outline of the planned order for this event. In order to keep it moving quick, there will be a 72 hour post window after you're tagged in which to post. Luckily, we have duplicates of almost every role, so if you can't make it in time, it's no heartache.
There is no word-for-word script. Farrah has only provided the structure and it will be up to the performers to move from point a to point b in the plot. If we can stick to this outline, we will be done in about a month or a little less!
If anyone knows they don't want to post within their 72 hour window, PM me. Once everyone has posted within their 72 hour window (or I'm notified they aren't going to), we can move to the next window.
And now... to the IC!
---
Small children, younger than typically visit UA grounds, gathered outside the gate for Farrah di Prima's directorial debut, "The Heroic UA Sentai in: City Attack," along with their parents. Farrah looked over the crowd from her director's chair offstage with a confident smile. Her nose tilted up, her sunglasses gleamed, her legs and arms were crossed, and she seemed very at ease. One might not suspect this was her first ever stage performance... until she said so, anyway.
"Welcome children! Welcome parents! To a story of heroic greatness apparent! This is my first directorial scenario and I'm glad you're aboard to see how it goes!" she sang into a handheld microphone.
"Is it a music thing where they all sing?" one of the children asked from the front row.
"Ho ho, no, that's just my own quirk! But I hope you'll appreciate all the fine work that I and others have put into this play, so we can deliver and show you today: a message of heroes who rise to the call! Who face down evil and still stand tall! When I was growing up, heroes seemed the stuff of tales! But you will see what this new hero school avails! In the modern world, stories like these aren't so far-fetched, and that's why we heroes all do our best."
With that wisdom imparted, Farrah gestured towards the curtain with a grand sweep of one arm. "Lo! It is almost time for the curtain to rise! You will see the command center with your own eyes! It is here that our story sees its start, with the sentai commander and the words he imparts," she explained. "But first, I hope you're all ready for an opening grand, for we have our school's very own rock and roll band!"
((I will tag relevant posters for each 72 hour session. Nobody else needs to tag anyone!))

The curtain opened to a bunch of children. Right, how did I find myself doing that again?
A couple of days ago, Darren walked in front of a room where he saw a few of his classmates doing mock combat, under the directorial orders of Farrah, that girl with the rhyme quirk. Eager to help -- and to demonstrate his skill -- when it came to martial arts, he barged in to give pedantic fight choreography advice. And before he knew it, he was recruited in the UA Sentai show. Someone brought up that he had a band which could be perfect to play the opening, one thing led to another, and there they were.
As usual, Darren was a bit late in telling his bandmates when and where they would play, but thankfully the song was simple enough, a sentai romp with power chords and few arpeggios. In other words, easy enough to learn in a quick sesh for what was becoming a somewhat experienced little band. There was only one absent, Chimera. The goat boy was unfortunately busy with something that day, but thankfully he had suggested a replacement.
Before the curtains opened, Darren turned to the purple-haired, hard-scaled girl next to him and, completely forgetting that he used the same nickname to say something hurtful by accident, addressed Noriko thusly: “Alright dinogirl, ready to rock?” There was no malice in his voice; it was just another one of his dumb nicknames. “Well, ready or not, sounds like its our turn to play.”
The curtain finally opened, and a bunch of kids looked at them with round eyes. Normally, Darren would have introduced the band and said something stupid, but in front of children he found little reason to advertise his band much more than with a “One two three four!” and start playing his bassline, as the drums and guitar picked up. He shot a look at a girl, one bar before the singing part came, as a sort of warning and encouragement.

Farrah listened to Darren's band, OD Hazard, with several thoughts bouncing around in her noggin- the noggin itself was also bouncing, along with her blond hair. The first thought: that she really wanted to be part of a band at some point, a thought which occurred to her frequently due to the strangely high density if performers she had already witnessed or listened to in Tokyo. The second: wondering if any of the kids were aware or concerned about what an OD hazard typically referred to. The third: that she was super lucky to have bagged a band to play in her Sentai show! Not every school would be so well-equipped to throw together a short-notice performance like this one.
Once Noriko had come on stage and sang her intro, Farrah and the children in the audience clapped with almost equal enthusiasm. Some of the children probably would have preferred to just keep listening to music, but Farrah knew it was time to usher in the opening scene. "Now rise, witness the rising of the curtain! Behold, our heroes have assembled, for certain!" she informed the crowd, spreading her arms wide and standing out of her seat... before spinning and settling right back into the seat.
The scene opens with Tsuji stage left, addressing five Sentai, to the right...

Before the performance began, Tsuji was a little scared, seeing as he hadn't really been involved in much acting before, even though he had practiced his lines quite a bit. At the very least, his suit was cool, so he was able to to dwell on that to take his mind off of it. As Farrah's voice echoed out, and the curtains raised, the audience could see him on the left side of the stage, and everyone playing the team on the right, minus Kaz, the gold one. He had to mention that he had gone ahead, him being the sixth ranger after all. Seemed sort of fitting for Kaz, but that wasn't the time to dwell on such things. As his thoughts settled along with the crowd, Tsuji began to speak in character. He needed to introduce the team, and say what was going on, perhaps talk about the villains. It couldn't be that hard, right? “Everyone! Our beautiful city is being attacked, by no less than three wickedly evil villains! Not much is known about them, but we have reasonable belief that there is a sword monster, a giant monster, and a martial arts monster!” he said, allowing ample time for the audience to react accordingly to such dreadful villains (although Tsuji really did like Miyu and Daisuke's costumes).
As he began to talk again, Tsuji pointed out to each of the rangers, letting the audience know who he was referring to. “Red, be as swift as the dragons you so adore, and fight with all you have! Pink, steel your sword, and strike with ultimate valour! Blue, present your power to the enemy and don't let up for a moment! Yellow, fire away at your foes with the most valiant marksmanship! And Green, attack with great strength, but also with your incredible speed! As for Gold, his whereabouts are currently unknown, but my guess as his commander is that he has gone ahead to fight the evil. Make sure to find him, as he is just as valuable to the team as any of you! Now go, and remember: the world is watching, be the best heroes you can be! I will remain here and send additional help if need be. Fight, squadron, fight!” Tsuji said. He was surprised he was able to get all that out when things were all said and done, and he might have gone slightly off script with some of the descriptions, but his job was done. It was up to the team now, both in the play and out of it.

Tsuji's job in this scene was a bit like narration itself. As such, there was no need for the narrator to get involved; Farrah simply enjoyed the performance as a spectator. "Japan is truly wonderful! The bubble I'd been under, dull! A talking bear commander is inspired casting! This scene will leave an imprint, lasting!" she thought to herself. While she was set on becoming a hero, being an actress on the side had crossed her mind. She found herself wondering if Tsuji might be interested in something similar... he was a fledgling performer, of course, but it was certainly exciting to think of all the opportunities that might be available to an up-and-coming hero with such an interesting quirk.
The bear boy had done a good job setting up the individual powers of each of the heroes. A less optimistic director than Farrah, having put in as little rehearsal time as she had, might have significant doubts that each of the heroes were prepared to pepper such descriptions into their dialogue, so it was good that the commander had gotten all that out of the way up front. Next, it was time to hope that all of her squadron of sentai were as ready hands on the stage as Tsuji appeared to be.

It was time, the fateful day has arrived. Ever since she was a young, she always wanted to do this sort of thing but her childhood wasn’t exactly fun. But her fondest memories were her siblings and her watching these sorts of shows on a weekend morning. She signed up for this show in a heartbeat, always for red as it was the role she would usually fight over with siblings. She was ecstatic to get the color she wanted and as time passed as she got more into it, she felt her childlike glee take control at some points. Reciting lines in her room and doing the poses was a daily occurrence but now she has a purpose in doing so now. The suit was made, aside from the issues on how it felt, it was a lovely suit that can stand the test of time. She did her best to practice so she wouldn’t flub it mid sentence and even practiced her entrance when no one was looking on the field. A lot of prep work for something like this, but it’s the spirit that burns for this kind of fun is always needed. Anyways, as Tsuji was calling out each of the colors, it was go time as was the moment of truth.
The stage was set, and curtain was raised, the time has come for DragonRed to make her debut! In a moment she burst forth with the little use of her quirk, flying into the fray and making a grand entrance.
“Swift as the dragon, fierce as fire and brilliant as the sun. I am the warrior that defends this world with speed and strength, the warrior of the dragon, DRAGON RED!!”
She declared out loud with all her spirit and struck the pose that was rehearsed a dozen times with an added explosion of red to emphasis her entrance. She heard the crowd cheer as she did which helped amazingly, all her hard work paid off and now the rest is up to others. Her anxiety was kicked aside as the situation was a dream as she stood on stage in full regalia, ready to take on the villain of this stage. She awaited the others to make their entrance and once they did, she would pose with them.

Post by Isamu Iwamoto on May 25, 2019 9:00:07 GMT -4
Isamu let out a calming breath behind the mask he now wore as he rolled his shoulders in preparation for the performance ahead. He wasn't alone either, he stood behind the curtain amongst darkened props with more fellow performers all dressed in normally outlandish get-ups, but not for a Sentai show. Many an afternoon had gone into preparing the show they were about to begin and Isamu hoped whatever crowd they would be entertaining was enjoy as much as the cast had during rehearsals. Either way he knew he would enjoy himself regardless, Isamu only hoped those he shared the stage with would feel the same. Of course he hoped they all put on a stellar performance, that was a given, but Isamu was more than fine with just having a good time.
He had spoken at length with Farrah about what kind of character he wanted to play for the show, and they had eventually settled on Lightspeed Pink. The Flashy Swordsman of the team, something that suited both Isamu's skillset and Quirk very well. The added spice of being an incredibly over the top Samurai type character only helped, of that Isamu was adamant and would argue to the death. He pushed all thoughts other than the performance from his mind as he heard Tsuji getting ready to introduce the Heroes of the story. Isamu knew he was no practiced actor or stage performer, but as in all things he would do his best.
Moments later the curtain began to rise and Isamu puffed his chest out slightly as he took a relaxed pose beside his squadron. Tsuji was the first to speak, being the Squadron Commander, and set the scene for the crowd. While he did go off script for a short time Isamu found it to be fitting, giving the audience a brief idea as to the makeup of the Squadron. Feng, Dragon Red, was the first to formally introduce themselves, striking a mighty pose with added effects. Isamu moved forwards after her, his arms hidden for a moment under his costume before he brought them out with a wide flourish, sending his half-cape billowing behind him. As his arms moved a torrent of pink petals surged forth, quickly forming into five hovering blades that moved according to his will. He sent them spiraling around him in tight and intricate patterns before they all combined into a singular katana that he sheathed at his side, the bright pink hilt still glowing.
"Waga tamashī wa Fukushu o motomeru." He said, not shouting but making sure his voice could easily be heard. He wasn't to introduce himself by name, it added to the mystique of hie character, or so Farrah had assured him. His Squadron knew his designation and would announce him as such before the performance was over.

If people knew Emi for one thing, it was her show, so her taking the stage shouldn’t have been too surprising. What might have turned their heads was hearing that this show was a play. A play in which a dozen teenagers played pretend superheroes, out of pocket and whatever technicians they could pull off campus. Not her usual style, to say the least, but only because the situation had never presented itself before. Saving people had, and never would be, Emi’s passion, and having to live and work amongst several dozen common students wasn’t the most appealing lifestyle. And yet, it was from them that she hoped to find what she was looking for. Tomfoolery. Kinship. Fond memories. Antics. Bonds. The high school experience, as depicted by countless anime.[break][break]
It was why, before being asked, she’d provided Farrah with a costume sketch, weapon design and a double-sided sheet of character notes. Why she’d offered the news club’s cameras to record the event, set to capture the show from three different angles. Why she’d arrived to the auditions with a seemingly unbefitting level of enthusiasm (that was quickly covered up whenever somebody commented on it). And, most importantly, it was why the pretty princess of UA had deigned to spend time away from her one-woman show to join the ensemble. For a little while, anyway.[break][break]
Everything was ready. She’d taken on the role of advertising, spreading the word to the school and (as a backup) to the three elementary schools closest to UA. A wise choice, since the kids took up the majority of the audience. All that was left was for her to take the stage. …Her and the others, but in her mind, it was her moment. [break][break]
Her character notes held, among other things, her plans for special effects, Emi style. For one, her quirk allowed her to levitate her chosen element, and anything holding onto it by extension. By wearing a layer of the stuff beneath her costume, a little focus sent her into the air, propelling her onto the stage beside the hero quartet. Her feet touched the ground, a hand met her hip, and the other revealed her weapon from beneath her cape: a colour-coordinated bow, though she seemed to be missing a quiver, or any ammunition. “You don’t need to tell me twice, Boss Bear. Hirashin’ll handle it.” Apparently, a mask did nothing to hide a smug grin. She’d had enough practice with it to make her confidence audible, even with all eyes on her.

A few butterflies were fluttering in Isaac's stomach as he changed into his sentai costume. Even though he was no stranger to street performances, following a script was a different story and something he had to get used to while he was practicing. But. Speaking through the helmet was also odd. After some practice he managed to project his voice well enough through the blue helmet. Even still he wondered if he would sound alright to others. Even with these few things causing some nerves it did not deter the charismatic young man. If anything it made him want to do better. As for the acting part he was fairly confident in that regard. Having seen some of the early works of the sentai shows and their fighting coriogriphy Isaac was confident he could produce an action packed and exciting to watch fight scene. One thing that he remembered when watching the show was seeing the somewhat poor fighting done by the actors but it only as an experienced fighter watching these fights that he saw these flaws. For a young audience it would simply be a kick ass fight! Even if the enemy waited around to be hit. All in all Isaac wasn't too worried about the performance. Besides he had his other sentai actors to help him if he did mess up and the other dozen students who would probably make a mistake or two themselves, that is if one student in particular didn't shine out above the rest!]
Not wanting to dwell on the speculation on how the show would go, Isaac began to do some brief stretches before he would join the others on stage. Once the curtain raised, he listened carefully to each of their entrances before he did though. All of which were very unique in their own way. Even if some parts were slightly off script it would be impossible to tell unless you had read it yourself. Even still the entrance so far was incredible! Hoping to match the talent of the others Isaac Stood forward half a step and raised his hand to the sky while putting his other to his chest, triggering the blue explosion behind him that billowed upwards. "I-I'll do my best too! With power so unrelenting like a tidal wave! Wolf Blue!" He called out! Although he stuttered at the beginning he projected his voice well. He also stuttered to show himself to be the shy yet capable type if sentai. His finishing pose almost looked like a boxing stance, but his hands were turned out as if to resemble claws. The butterflies all but gone at this stage, Isaac waited for the next signal to move on with the next scene.

Red was, for lack of a better way to describe it, absolutly shitting himself. You see, when he signed up for this thing he wasnt expecting to be on stage that much. At most, maybe he'd be a Sterling Defender or something, helping the Rangers out whilst also keeping behind some of the scenery so he could pop off all the special effects easier, without the audience knowing. If anything that would great for him, he'd be able to try something new to see if he could handle normal social interaction better, whilst still having a minor role so if he felt like he was fucking up or being an awkward asshole he could run aw---i mean tactically retreat to his special effect hidey hole and take a quick break. So to say he was slightly terrified of the prospect of being on stage as one of the main 5 sentai was an understatement. Like sure, he'd put his name down for it, but he figured everyone wanted to be a Ranger so he'd get to just make em look cool with holograms and light tricks, maybe the odd fake explosion, not have to be cool himself. He didnt even have time to properly rehearse his lines, he was too busy setting up all the effects and everything they needed to do. Infact it took him so long to set anything up that he may have also skipped sleeping just a little bit, so he was a bit more twitchy than usual.
It also didnt help that Emi had set up her clubs cameras to record everything, or told every school nearby about it. You see, he may have already hit the stage...decently well during that music night a few weeks back, but he was under the influence of self sacrifice and booze at the time, which really helped him pull through well enough there....here though, he had no such things, which is why he was currently backstage fidgeting like a madman off his meds, muttering his lines in his head while he double, triple and quadrulple checked all the special effects stuff was good to go. In truth he was only doing it to try and help calm his nerves, but it was better than nothing, right? As he did, he looked around at his fellow actors....who all seemed either hyped up or extremly calm. He didnt see Kaz anywhere, thank christ, but he knew he'd be on stage eventually, and he'd have to suffer through the kids speechs...he knew the script said his "Character" was a hot blooded dude, explaing why he'd just charged off and gone to fight already, but he knew Kaz would throw the script out the window......Wait did the script say that? Fuck i forgot already, uhhh......He'd start panicking in his mind, as the curtain started to rise. Oh god thats a lot of kids.
As Tsuji, acting as the team commander, would give the team the rundown on what was happening, Red was thanking god that he was currently wearing a helmet....a very, very claustraphobic helmet that was getting hard to breathe in right now, but it was covering his panicking face atleast. As he pointed at each ranger and they introduced themselves, Red was getting increasingly close to a freak out. He managed to get any special effects that his fellow rangers had asked for off atleast, but he was barely holding together. Wait did Tsuji go off script? It feels like i--oh god i dont remember anything, what were my lines again? I was supposed to be a mechanic or something right, the tech guy? Kinda awkward? No wait that was someone else, was i supposed to be the speech guy? No wait that was supposed to be Kaz...or was he supposed to be the hot blooded guy? FUCK I DONT BLOODY KNOW. He continued spiralling into a loop of not knowing what to do, until the time came...he had to introduce himself to the audience.
Almost on instinct, his right hand started to rise, heading towards the back of his head as he was gonna apologise for forgetting his lines or something...but then he realised that doing that would probably upset everyone, including the kids....and he couldnt have that happen now, could he? So his hand changed its direction, heading instead to become a chunni as fuck hand over his visor. And then she started to laugh. He'd decided that hot blooded guy was probably the role he'd gotten assigned (It was not) so he could just improvise and hopefully it would be fine. "Really boss? Thats all we got? I, The Green Typhoon, could take these guys down single handedly....my bloods starting to boil, been waiting for a good fight" He'd reply to the commander flippently, while punching his palm, with an added windblast for added power, blowing his wind aura off for a second as a show of force, harmlessly of course. He didnt wanna ruin anyone elses effects or anything...after all he made most of it. At worst it just made their costumes flutter a bit.
"What are you blowhards waiting for? Lets get out there before that gold loser takes all the fun....he might think he's the hottest ranger around but he's just a lucky dumbass." He'd tell his fellow rangers before heading off stage, in the direction he figured they all had to go. As they all left, he'd popped off the special effects he'd set up, some dry ice bombs to create mist at the doorway, some lights to signify where they were going, and his own wind aura spreading it around, and making him look cool in the process, And thanks to some modificiations he made, he had his "Morpher" linked to all of em, so he could pop em all off in sequence. Any other special effects that were needed, he'd probably already set up before hand at their request, and he'd set them off accordingly.

"Ah there it is! That's the red dragon! Casting Feng here is cause for braggin'! This is the part she was born to play and it was evident from that fateful day! A martial artist brings authenticity to the show! Which sets the tone for how the rest ought to go! After all, actors can only do so much! A hero show benefits from a hero's touch!" The director applauded both herself and her actors, though, if she'd thought about it a little further, she'd remember she had one of the most acclaimed martial artists in the school assigned to play on the villain team.
Isamu's introduction was next; she'd never met him before this point, but it was easy to see that he would fit the role. Also, the half-cape was nice. She had to admit, she'd always wished there was some way to fit a cape into her own costume.
As for Emi, Farrah had met her briefly before, and back then, Farrah had gotten the impression that Emi was a person who understood the significance of standing out in the sports fair. Here, too, she looked like she was determined to shine like a leader, even when she hadn't ended up in the leader role. Besides that, she was as calm acting as though she'd been on camera for years!
Isaac was another unknown; either he was a good character actor or he was a little nervous his first time up. If this was his first time in front of a crowd, Farrah hoped he cherished it. She wished she'd been able to soak in the moment a bit better during her own performance at the sports festival, but at the time, she'd only wished she could rescue more of the stand-in civilians.
Finally, the green sentai, who had been given the unenviable task of pulling double duty as as both special effects and sentai, given Farrah's brief casting call that had left her a little short-handed. In fact, he might be pulling triple duty, as she thought she'd overheard him mentioning being on something like "Kaz duty." If Isaac had seemed a little green, the green ranger seemed even more so, like the cameras were giving him a monster case of stage fright. In fact, it seemed like he'd forgotten his character all together.
Farrah just smiled and laughed, clapping her hands; who cared about a script? The best performance was always improv, because it carried with it an element of surprise! "When we design our own character and act resolute, for that performance, there is no substitute! Conventional notions I'll gladly throw away to play the character I was born to play!" she thought to herself, perhaps misreading Redarcc's reason for going off script. "Aren't we lucky? What more could we ask? Than for heroes so fiery, so up to the task?! Clap your hands children, be sure to cheer too! As we lower the curtain and ready part two!"
The sentai had all vanished in a cloud of mist, which got the children going. It would probably make Redarcc happy to hear the kids loving his special effects, even as it made the other sentai annoyed to hear the nuance of their acting was going relatively unappreciated. Of course, actors rarely get to pick their audiences. Farrah kicked her leg and made notes in her notebook, every now and then smiling and facing downward to answer some stray question yelled up by a kid, while stage changes were made, turning the command room into the ruined city. Once she heard the sounds of movement die down, she smirked and raised her megaphone. "I mentioned earlier a certain task. We arrive at the scene of the trouble, at last! Vandal-like villains, an irksome lot, have chaos and havoc plenty begot! We arrive at a city, crying out in distress! And the nasty, bad villains, the cause of this mess!" she set the stage, as the curtain opened for part two.

Miyu had been positively bouncing off the walls backstage. As a kaiju fanatic, she'd always dreamt of getting to play one in something, and it was today that her dream was finally becoming a reality. While her Kamirex costume had been slightly bent and damaged from an unfortunate incident around Halloween time, she'd fixed it up as best she could; she'd stitched a black mesh over the gap for her face, and done her very best to straighten out the tail. Sure, it was still a store-bought costume at the end of the day, but the real magic was gonna be combining it with her Quirk.
Which came to the other reason why she was so hyper. To ensure she'd stay on her feet in-between Quirk use, she'd been binging on candy all day, and had one hell of a sugar rush. It was difficult just staying still, let alone not just rushing on stage early from impatience. Like many of her co-stars, the script's details had all but fled her candy-addled mind, but it's not like she had any complicated lines. Mostly, her role consisted of stomping and angry grunts, which suited her just fine.
As Farrah was done speaking, Miyu leaped onto stage between the layers of cardboard buildings, activating her Quirk a few seconds later in an effort to get a pop from the audience. She punched the first in front of her, luckily remembering to hit one that had been made to break, and roared. Unfortunately, her "roar" came out as more of an adorable angry yell in pitch, but the effect was mostly the same. Besides, a real Kamirex roar probably would've scared the audience more than exciting them.
She couldn't see the audience through her mask, but she hoped they were having a good time. It sure sounded that way.

| A ngel was absolutely thrilled to bits and pieces about what she had planned for the day! Farrah her beloved songbird had decided to put on her very Super Sentai stage production for the civilian children and Angel herself had been cast as one of the lead bad guys! The role even came with a rather sexy witch costume and a quite lovely name for the character named "The Witch of the wilds" It was Angel's and the other bad guys job to "Make trouble" for the heroes as well as ham it up for the crowd. Angel instead of distracting herself and Farrah by being all over her in her new costume or bothering the hero cast decided to stay backstage getting ready, going over her lines and then watch part 1 of the show. As part two began with her lovers Monologue to the little kids and Miyu jumping out onto the stage to begin destroying the breakable props using her enlargement quirk Angel steeled her nerves, hopped on her prop broom stick and used her wings to make it look like to the untrained child mind that the broom itself was flying and that the wings were just a part of the costume instead of a part of her. As she flew out onto and above the stage and over the crowd Angel let out a witch like cackle as she made a pass over the crowd, back over the stage and around Miyu's head making sure to give her plenty of space. "That's it my big beautiful beastie! Destroy it all! All that will remain when those rainbow colored fools arrive will be rubble to be used for their graves! They will learn not to mess with the witch of the wilds and her Chaotic Cohorts!"Angel as she gave her little speech and shifted to sit sideways on her broom cackled happily as she began to get into her performance. She was beginning to see why Farrah lived for this kind of stuff! It was so much fun! Knowing she had to do more then talk Angel carefully aimed one of her wings at one of the breakable props, aimed one of her hands at the prop to make it look like a special effect and then carefully fired a few bronze hard feathers at it destroying it. "Today will finally spell the end for those Pathetic putzes! Today the Sentai will all Sentdie!" |

Well, at least the costume hid his face entirely. It was a good idea; the children would have probably be confused if the bassist of the opening band was also a villain, but that didn’t help him not feel a little ridiculous in that rather… Unique get-up. Right after the performance of OD Hazard ended, Darren had been rushed backstage by a cohort of assistant who began arranging carefully shaped and painted pieces of cardboard on his person. The production values for this small performance were unusually high; through clever application of everyone’s quirk, they had managed to drastically reduce the costs of just about everything. Thanks to Issac’s glue for example, they had been able to invest more in metallic paint and assorted baubles for his costume so that he looked less like walking cardboard and more like an actual robot. The end result was rather impressive, a gold and black suit with red accents and, for some reason, a giant face on the torso, which was apparently there to emulate a classic sentai villain. It was rather unwieldy and difficult to move in, what with the giant shoulder plates and the big horns protruding from his chest-face and his helmet, which made his casting suddenly make sense: he was probably about the only one able to act out a convincing fight scene while wearing this thing. Also, it was really, hot in there. The brats better like this shit, thought the delinquent, wondering once again how he got himself talked into this. He was the one to talk people into things, usually. Either way, it was time for their scene. The first to enter the stage was obviously Miyu: she was an actual kaiju, talk about making an impact. And make an impact she did, breaking a prop that he assumed was made to be broken and roaring at the audience, though it came off less like primeval rage and more like angry screeching. In a way, it was scarier, and kinda progressive when you thought about it. Who said all kaiju were males? Second to make her entrance was Angel, flying onstage in an outfit which reminded him more of a succubus. She broke something as well. She seemed to be really enjoying herself and the spotlight, which was something he could respect as fellow spotlight whore (tough he’d never admit to it). The second part of her speech was his cue. “Well then, let’s go,” he muttered to himself, and turned on the voice changer that Red made. In keeping with the theme of breaking the props they broke their arses to make, he entered the stage in the center, breaking a fake building prop which stood in the way. Because of the bulk of his legs, he had to raise his feet high to walk, which was rather slow; he therefore used small activations of his quirk to speed up the walk cycle, and the jerky, unnatural movement really helped sell the whole robot thing. After mentally reciting his line one last time, Darren took an inspiration and boomed: “Minions!” The voice changer distorted his voice for a nice evil AI flavor, which was sentai as fuck, as was the rest of the line: “Bring me the sentai's heads. Today is the day we finally conquer S-City,” he proclaimed, waving his fist menacingly. It was cheesier than American food. Thanks fuck nobody can see my face, he thought again.

| TAKE ME ON YOUR MIGHTY WINGS ACROSS THE SKY | |
Because of his unusual sight, Daisuke did not watch television. Televisions, to him, were green boxes that made a lot of noise. As a result he had only a faint grasp of what tokusatsu was. It was something to do with ridiculous rubber monsters and fancy wire-work, he understood that much. And martial arts. Which meant fighting. Hence why he was there. Daisuke did not know the strange rhyming girl who had organised all of this, or most of the other people there, except the class president (whom he had thus far avoided), and Darren. It did not matter to him: he just wanted to be where the action was. This action apparently involved them sticking a load of weird foam armour pieces onto his body that he hoped would not hinder his movement too much. He was to be one of the villains, something he could have taken offense to but thankfully had not. He was more offended to have been given such an obviously fake foam sword. And only one, too! Whatever his gripes, he entered the stage with the other villains but unlike them lingered by the side, just visible. He heard Darren’s voice, however he did not see him. That alarmed him, more than he would admit, until it finally dawned on him that Darren must have been inside the big spiky thing that was stomping all over. Never in his life would he have expected to hear the Darren he had met at the gym say the things he was hearing now. Along with the things the flying girl was saying, it made him cringe a bit as he wondered what the hell he had gotten into. “You guys are lame,” he grumbled quietly, too quietly for anyone to hear. Daisuke did not have time for words, and that was only partially because he could not think of any. So while the other villains were flailing around, he leaned back against the edge of the stage in a casual, almost bored manner, hand raised up by his face, and tapped the hilt of his sword against it. A slow rhythm it was, tap, tap, tap, like a heartbeat – or a countdown. He let this play out for a bit, then turned to the rest of the stage as out of nowhere words finally came surging forth; “Listen and learn, squadron! Might controls everything, and you’re about to discover how true that is. You won’t forget this monster’s power!” Where the bloody hell had those words come from? He did not even know and yet, strangely, he did not really care. It had been surprisingly fun to say. Suddenly the others there seemed slightly less lame to him. But only slightly. ▲
