The last couple of days had been weird, to say the least. A Person? or something had been gettin on students accounts and asking for chicken. First it had been Airi, who had forgetton to log out of her account in the library, probably cause she had been up for 38 hours doing SOMETHING for some reason. She'd eventually went to bed, but Red was still worried about her. After that, the perp had snuck into Jacks room after he had chugged 5 mugs of coffee and made sweet love to the desk with his forehead. This sent half of chat into a panic, worrying about an intruder or whatever, the other half thinking it was a prank. As for Reds stance? He just wanted to give this being chicken. To him, the thing seemed harmless, since it hadnt tried slitting Jacks throat in his sleep, or stolen any of his stuff. It clearly just wanted to be fed, and Red was happy to oblige. The first time, he'd ended up giving it to a distressed cat who got stuck in a tree. The second time? It just mysteriously vanished from his windowsill. He'd been watching it, just so he could find out what exactly he was feeding. Unfortunatly, that plan had gone up in smoke, due to the fact that when he took his eyes off it for a second, it vanished. All he saw was a weird effect at his window. It was effectively a black streak, due to the night sky, that shot past his window taking the chicken with it. He internally cursed this, as he had forgetton to set up a camera to get footage of it, so no one believed him.
Well, that was about to change. You see, the being had contacted chat once again, this time on a generic account it had acquired, under the name of Kuro. He interally remarked on how fitting that name was, considering the black streak he'd witnessed the night before. Luckily for him, it had once again asked for chicken, and Red was prepared this time. Kuro didnt want to disclose its location, but that didnt matter, all he needed was an open area and some bushes. So he informed Kuro that his chicken was close to the dorms, and that he would be able to find it very easily. For its location, he just stuck it on some grass in a clearing, very visible and easy to smell for whoever wanted it. He made sure of that, he needed the chicken to act as bait. As for Red himself, he had found himself a nice little bush to hide under, belly to the ground with a video camera primed and ready to go. Due to the little time he had to prepare, he hadnt brought anything big, like a thermal imaging camera, Tripods for multiple angles or stuff like that, all he had was a standard video camera and a dream. He figured he wouldnt need it either, unless Kuro could go invisible or something, it'd be easy to spot him from this position, get proof that it wasnt just some prankster, and let Charlotte know that it wasnt a bloody ghost, that idea was stupid. It was clearly sentient Roombas made by Yojin that were the cause of this predicament.
So he just lay there, waiting in anticipating for his prey to reveal itself. He was well hidden, so the odds are Kuro being alerted to him were pretty damn low. The Camera would be able to get everything he needed, he was sure of it.

436 words ft. reddarcc hunter It was almost too easy-- two days, and he already had this school trained. The process was straightforward enough: first, find an open computer. The library was the best place, by far. Second step, sign-on to the school website. Third step, open the UA Chat. Fourth step, find Red. Demand chicken. He'd already done it twice before with spectacular results. This boy was so eager to please! All Kuro had to do was type, "Red? Chicken!" and this guy made him chicken.
It was even better than the Legendary Villain Recoil, who periodically forgot to buy a rotisserie chicken for the cat. It was even better than Papa and Kasumi, who'd begun to offer him kibble. this guy literally made him baked chicken on-command. What a chump!
Tonight was no different. He logged-in to chat as a guest, waited for Red, then said the right words. In the flurry of messages, Red told him to go to the dorms where'd he gotten fed before, for chicken. Well... Kuro didn't know what a dorm was, but he did know where he'd been fed before. So, without much ado, he got off of the computer and scampered back to the buildings where all the students lived.
He stuck to the bushes, donning invisibility as he sprinted across the open field. He was visible again once he was flush with the building, and he padded along, following his nose. There-- he caught a whiff of it on the breeze. Chicken! He ducked his head, trying to get a visual. On the ground, a ceramic plate, with a still-steaming breast of chicken placed upon it like an offering. But there was something else, across the way-- a glimmer in the bush. Kuro squinted at it, his ears flat against his skull. Upon closer inspection, it appeared to be Red. Kuro only knew his name by virtue of the fact that Red had chicken. And in Red's hand... a camera. Perhaps he needed a more surreptitious way of acquiring chicken.
The cat stood and shook itself off, shaking the visibility out of his coat. Soon, all that was visible was the ribbon around his neck. And this was removed with a brush of the paw over his head. Now wholly invisible, the cat crept out from under the bushes, glimmering ever so slightly in the evening light. To the observer, it would be like light glinting off of rippling water, except there was no water for the light to ripple off of. There was nothing even remotely cat like about it. It was merely a small apparition, drifting towards the chicken.
ooc notes: he'll grab the chicken and run in the next post

Man, this plan was perfect. Red got to do his civic duty of feeding this poor thing, who before this, if he remembered correctly, was just scavanging in dumpsters for food for apparently 4 years. He felt kinda sorry for him. He contemplated the thought that Kuro was just bullshitting about that, but even if it was all a ruse just to get chicken Red didnt mind, he was a stupid idiot like that. He was frugal as fuck when it came to spending on himself, having to justify to himself that what he was buying would be worth it. When it came to other people though? He threw money around like it was nothin, cause his instincts told him too. I mean thats most of the reason he'd ended up being a delivery boy for some people in the dorms whenever he went out to the store for food. Good thing his parents gave him a hefty allowance on account of them never being around, so he could buy food and stuff like that.
As he waited, his mind started to wander a bit, contemplating on what Kuro could actually be. He could type and speak like a human, so he was obviously intelligent, but what was his quirk? Was it super speed? That'd make sense, considering how fast that chicken on his windowsill had vanished before his eyes. Maybe some kind of cloaking? The light around his window did get weird for a second when it disappeared. Maybe flight, it did have to get up to his window, which despite being on the first floor, would take a couple seconds to climb too. Whatever it was, hopefully it wouldnt be a factor this time, on account of his hidin-----
It was at this point that he noticed the light of the video cameras viewing screen on the ground, and how it caused a glare on the lens. He internally cursed. He quickly recified the situation, pointing the light down towards the ground and holding the camera as low as possible, to let off as little light as possible, and hoped to god that it he'd done it quick enough so Kuro wouldnt notice. God, why hadnt he remembered that? He nearly gave himself away, and all his work would be for naught. Kuro would have clocked him very fuckin quick if he hadnt already done so....luckily that didnt seem to be the case, as Red scanned the area around the chicken. Phew, everything looked perfectly normal, all he saw was a chicken, some weird shimmering and an empty field, he was in the clea---wait what.
His eyes narrowed, as he watched the small anomoly approach the bait. He angled the camera in such a way that it could catch some footage of the weird shimmer whilst hopefully not alerting it to his presence. Atleast that answered on question, Kuro probably had an invisibility thing going on....unless Reds eyes were going funny, he had been staring at this chicken for a good while. He rubbed his eyes just to make sure he was actually not going insane, or that it was just an eye floater caused by not blinking. Luckily for him, he managed to catch it again, slightly closer to the chicken. He kept his eyes trained on it, he needed to get this on camera. He had no idea what it actually was but odds are it was Kuro, and this was what he'd been waiting all night to catch. Just to make sure, he started to whisper almost inaudiable, just to point out what he was bloody seeing and where.

169 words ft. reddarcc hunter The look on the kid's face was priceless. Disbelief written in the whites of his eyes and the slackness of his expression. His hiding place wasn't the best. Kuro's tail twitched in amusement, a smug expression stretching across his face. Kuro had reached the edge of the plate, surveying the other boy. He smirked. He'd give Red something else to chew-on.
“Thanks for the food!” the invisible cat chirped at the camera. The voice was clearly younger, clearly that of a prepubescent individual. Perhaps it was even a little bit feminine. Kuro then sank his teeth into the corner of the chicken, and took-off at a dead run. The chicken seemed to flap freely in the air, spare the corner that was clenched in the cat's teeth.
The boy's vantage point would be his demise-- for in order to chase Kuro, he'd have to wriggle out from beneath the bush. And by then Kuro would be around the corner and peeling towards a more densely forested part of campus.

"What the fuck, do you see that? That little ripple in the air, right in the middle of that shot, thats gotta be our guy" Red started to whisper, about the same volume as those guys who whispered in found footage films. He pulled the view finder back up to his face, just to make sure it was showing up on the recording. To his relief, the creeping, almost invisible ripple in the air showed up fine on the camera, although barely visible if you didnt know it was there, so he'd probably have to mess with the brightness or saturation to get a better image. But that would come later, right now, he just had to get the damn footage. He couldnt fuckin believe it, the plan had actually worked, and now he had his proof that it wasnt just some kid accidentally knocking his chicken off his windowsill.
It still didnt exclude the prankster or robot theories, but atleast he could say there was some credance to the intruder angle. His eyes followed the ripple as best he could, occasionally losing it and panicking a bit trying to relocate it, but he luckily managed to find it again every time. God that thing is small, is that just the quirks effect or is Kuro a midget? Red started to theorise in his mind. Him being small would explain a lot, like how he could dash so fast that he could steal chicken in a blink of an eye, and why he was so hard to detect. But it could also be left over radiation from a normal sized person going invisible....hmmmm.
That was when the ripple reached the edge of the plate, and Reds excitement sky rocketed. Odds are, whatever Kuro was had to turn off his quirk in order to grab anything, so Red would be able to get a clear image of his appearence, and see the true form of whatever had been tormenting UA chat for the last few days. That was when he heard it. Kuro thanked him for the food, in a voice that sounded almost like a kids. Red's face dropped, shock being the very clear expression on his face. This was for two reasons: One, he'd been rumbled, probably due to the view finder error from earlier, which meant that Kuro knew he was being recorded and either hoped he wouldnt show up on the camera or didnt give a shit.
Two, maybe the theory that Kuro was a literal child was true. Jack had sent a barrage of questions at him, trying to ascertain whatever info he could, and apparently he'd been scavanging for 4 winters, so 4 years, and didnt know his real age. Which if that was the case, made him A) An Orphan or runaway and B) probably a kid. Red kinda felt guilty about trying to lure a child out of hiding, but that stopped mattering when Kuro promptly grabbed the chicken and made a run for it. Unfortunatly, Reds theory was wrong, he did not in fact turn visible when he grabbed it.
"Hey, wait a sec, lemme talk to you!" Red yelled, as he tried to go after him, but he had to crawl out from under the bush first. He did it as fast as he could, but his jacket had gotten caught in the branches, delaying him even further. When he'd finally freed himself, he turned his skates on and immediatly ran in the direction Kuro was heading, chicken in mouth, but it was no use. Once he got around the corner, all he'd see was an empty field, no chicken or ripple in sight. He interally cursed while rubbing the back of his head. Atleast he had gotten it all on camera, so all he had to do now was find someone to/edit the video to make it easier to see. He did play it back on the camera first though, just to make sure he'd gotten Kuro speaking and stealing the chicken on it. Watching a piece of chicken get up and start hovering on its own awas kinda funny. If this didnt prove something to UA-Chat, nothing bloody would.

150 words ft. reddarcc hunter A shout followed the cat across the field, a plea to stop, to just talk. People who just wanted to talk didn't have cameras! Kuro knew better than that. He sprinted across the open field, little more than a glimmer behind the wiggling chicken breast in his mouth. The cat broke the treeline, a flick of underbrush the only signifier that he'd darted beneath the bush. The boy had rounded the corner, but it was clear that he had lost the cat altogether. His eyes raked the landscape wildly.
Kuro smirked to himself, and tore into the baked chicken. He might as well enjoy this meal while it lasted-- because if being fed entailed being filmed, the cat wanted no part of it. He watched the boy fuss with camera in his hands, squinting at the camera. How disappointing, that his one source of food turned-out to be a traitor...
