APPEARANCE AND PERSONALITY
Appearance:
Isamu cuts an imposing figure amongst his age group, with his slightly taller than average height and prominent facial scar. His build is that of a professional swimmer, lean yet muscular, a result of his almost religious exercise regime. He is someone that takes pride in keeping his appearance neat and tidy, his hair never unruly, his clothes never creased and his shoes never dirty.
His wardrobe is ever changing, as Isamu is known to wear whatever it is that appeals to him whether it conforms to current trends or not. In contrast to this Isamu carries himself in a very respectful manner, a side effect of his more traditional upbringing.
One of Isamu's most prominent features, his sleeve tattoo, was an act of good natured rebellion against his Grandfather after an offhanded comment. His scar on the other hand came from an accident at an early age through Kenjutsu training with his Grandfather, Isamu had childishly insisted on using real blades before attempting to show off his, at the time, limited skill which backfired rather memorably.

Personality:
Isamu is a person who rather easy to get along with, always preferring a friendly or humorous approach to people as opposed to one of indifference or even hostility. He will always strive to maintain the image of being calm and in control at all times, a lesson imparted to him by his Father and Grandfather both. It would be extremely rare outside of very particular circumstances to see Isamu react in anger or frustration, instead choosing to solve a problem with wit or charm if he is able.
From a young age he has been rather sociable, developing people-skills early on and gaining no small measure of confidence because of it. He is not concerned about simple things such as public speaking or wearing clothes outside of 'accepted' trends and someone would be hard pressed to embarrass him as he would be much more likely to simply laugh off such an occurrence. He is the sort of person that would do most anything for a friend if asked, always ready to help out if needed. He is fond though of playing good-natured pranks on people from time to time, and of attempting to engineer social situations so as to make those around him laugh if he is able.
There are times though that Isamu can go a little too far in some respects. He can be wholly reckless in some circumstances, forgoing his own safety at times should he feel the need calls for it. He isn't afraid of injury so long as someone else was spared it. This trait is something that usually gets Isamu into trouble and though he will take his due punishment, it doesn't shake his strong belief that he has, at the end of the day, done the right thing. He is heavily principled, influenced in no small part by his upbringing, and has a strong sense of right and wrong which isn't always shared by those around him, something that he accepts and most always refrains from commenting on.
If there was one word Isamu's Parents heard most when he was young, it would undoubtedly be "Why?", they might even go so far as to claim it was his first word. He has always been highly curious, never wanting to let his questions go unless it would be rude to keep insisting on an answer. He believes that the ability to ask Why to be rather important in daily life, that if people stopped questioning things, that society would stop learning, something he hopes will never come to pass.

HISTORY
Born to Ginrei and Asami Iwamoto, Isamu was set to live a life of relative wealth if not mediocrity. The Iwamoto family had long been part of the corporate world, running a rather successful Law Firm and it was always assumed that Isamu would follow in his Father's footsteps. That may have been the case, if not for the emergence of Quirks. Isamu was barely 3 years old when his Quirk first manifested, something of a shock to him Parents who had until then believed that all Quirks were nothing but trouble. So when their young son managed to fill his entire room with vibrant Cherry Blossom petals they were surprised to say the least.
It quickly became apparent to the family that Isamu had absolutely no inclination to become something as boring as a Lawyer. From an early age the boy was smitten with the idea of Vigilantes, of a regular person taking it upon themselves to go out and put there own lives on the line to combat the evils of society and to make their corner of the world a better place for everyone around them. Seeing this strong interest Isamu's Grandfather, Hiruzen Iwamoto, decided to prepare his Grandson. Academics was something to be learned at schools, a triviality if an rather important one, but the Iwamoto's were not always Lawyers. Hiruzen pushed Isamu into a stringent regime of exercise and training, molding the young boys body into that of a fighter. Hand to hand combat and swordsmanship easily being Isamu's favored subjects of interest.
Whilst some parts of society still subjected those with Quirks to suspicion, if not downright vilification, Isamu was determined to be one of those who aimed to prove that there was nothing wrong with Quirks, just some of those lucky enough to possess them. He saw Quirks as a means to improve the Human Condition, to show the brighter sides of humanity. Living in Tokyo it took Isamu no time at all to discover rumors of a school dedicated to Heroics opening, and whilst it took no small amount of negotiation, his Parents soon relented, knowing that if they didn't allow their Son to follow his dreams in a much more controlled environment, that he would strike out on his own, putting himself in much more danger than he otherwise would have.
