Karen is a slender young lady of average height though most would agree that she has a voluptuous figure with a prominent bust and curvy hips. While she is fairly athletic it's not immediately obvious that she possesses a slightly toned physique unless she wears clothes that expose more skin. All things considered she is a girl who is more physically capable than her appearance initially suggests.
Although she has no particular preference for tops, it is more evident that she is partial to short skirts or shorts, sometimes paired with leggings. For footwear, she usually wears leather shoes or boots. She only seems to wear heels on special occasions. As her hair is short, she rarely does anything special with it. She mostly leaves it as is though she is still known to wear a hat or hair clip when she feels like it. She almost never wears makeup as she feels her face and complexion is already naturally beautiful and presentable.

Karen is the type of person whose personal ideal image of herself doesn't quite match the reality. Even though she is somewhat of a perfectionist, she still occasionally runs into awkward moments due to the unpredictability of social interactions. It is when she is not trying that her real traits shine through.
Cheerful and optimistic, she is one of the last people to panic or lose her bearings in a crisis. Her courageousness then becomes apparent as she resolves to alleviate the situation even if she has to do it herself. Although she sometimes has trouble getting her sincerity across, her perceptiveness and compassion work in tandem to ensure that she doesn't miss it when people are in trouble, and circumstances permitting, she can approach them to help in any way.
It is also true however that Karen is heavily motivated by things that spark joy. When boredom gets the best of her, she is quick to look for something to amuse herself with, even if it is at the slight expense of her friends. People that she is close to have probably experienced her teasing and mischief at least a couple of times. She is careful at least to not do anything truly insensitive. She however does not like to lose and always aims to get the last laugh when people respond positively to and engage in her banter.
One of her greatest pleasures is hanging out with people and so it goes to say that being left out or forgotten by others typically hits her hard. She can't help but feel a little jealous when someone else is being showered attention by people she knows while neglecting her at the same time and so she developed a habit of being a bit of a show off. Most of the time her accomplishments are actually the real deal and she's not one to embellish things out of proportion. HISTORY
Karen Hoshizora comes from a fairly well to do family though that is probably an understatement. Her father was a Quirkless entrepreneur who took advantage of the Quirk boom by starting a business that offered customized products to people whose Quirks made daily life a hassle. He started with clothing and apparel but then moved on to expand to bigger and bigger things. He met Karen's mother one day when she saved her future husband with her Quirk from a freak accident. It was love at first sight. The two got married and worked together to grow their business. By the time Karen entered junior high, her family's business was one of the top names in Tokyo for custom ordered items for Quirkers. This allowed her to live a life never really wanting much as most things were within her reach.
Growing up Karen had always admired her parents for being supportive figures in a society that wasn't always very accepting of Quirks. They were the kind of people who looked out for those troubled by their Quirks and worked together with them to find ways to make living life easier and more comfortable. This meant that they also had their fair share of opposition but the young girl watched as the couple bravely fought through them all. Inspired by their ideals, she resolved to be the perfect daughter or at least be the best that she could be in this world that her parents helped shape and create.
Though she had a lot of things to be thankful to her family for she found that the more famous her family name became, the more different the treatment she received outside her family was. While she was a girl who always had top grades and excelled in most things growing up, soon her own efforts started to be overshadowed by her family's reputation. This fame also made her harder to approach and so despite being fairly well-known in her school she had very few real friends even in her teens. Most were people she knew from before her family name became more "famous" so it really speaks how all that changed the dynamics of her social life.
Despite the challenges Karen was not the type to just fold and let herself get carried away by the flow. She doubled or even tripled her efforts to be recognized by her own merit. It was probably a nearly impossible task to overcome being associated with her family name, but she would at least aim to build an identity and reputation of her own that could stand alongside it.
It was during an important time of her life that the government announced the establishment of the first hero school. Normally she would have been one of the first to jump on the opportunity and her family's reputation meant that a government funded institution for Quirkers would be happy to welcome her in. Unfortunately it was during her final year in junior high. While a transfer in the final year was not impossible or unheard of, it meant giving up what she had worked on so far to start anew. This did not sit well with her and after a long and hard decision she decided to finish her studies in her current school. She did not want to leave with any regrets and unfinished business, nor did she want to give up her top spot without a fight. She was going to graduate while showing everyone that there as more to her than her name.
Thus she spent her last year in junior high balancing realizing her goal while also preparing to enter UA on the next school year. The school year would come to a close with her attaining top marks. A Karen Hoshizora brimming with confidence was ready to take on the next chapter of her life in the prestigious hero school.
