| ◀ | The heart is a heavy burden ❤ She had been a week in the infirmary. It was April now, She did not know what to think about that. The exams were coming up but she wanted to do something. She wanted out of the infirmary. The books on the bedside table, her head still exploding and yet, there was so much she did not understand.
She moved to the music room, she would try and find a spot to try and practice. The case of her violin was dusty, it was a miracle she was allowed to pick it up. She said hello back to Nakahara-sensei before finding the right room. She opened the window, enjoying the spring weather and wondering how fast the winter really did pass because she could remember so little. Meeting Haru, she brushed her loose hair behind her ear and smiled, Miku. Her smile faltered again, why did Miku not talk to her? She did not dare to text her friend because maybe she had done something she could not remember. She could not remember so many things that she was wondering if it made sense.
It was quiet in her head as if the Empress took a day off. She picked up her Violin and placed it on her left shoulder, holding the bow in her right hand, she was wearing a halter top, her bare arms as she was not going outside now anyway. But her right shoulder clearly was still black and blue, Nakahara-sensei could mend the bones, not fix the bruises, which was a funny gesture, it was sore but it did not hurt that much, she tried to get her shoulder back in shape to use the bow correctly to try and play the Clair de Lune song but she couldn't reach properly without it hurting. Maybe starting too early but it hurt so much. She leaned against the piano. She just wanted to do something, dammit.
She lowered the violin in her left hand and stared outside. Relena. Saiko. Why did nothing add up? Captain of the Cheerleaders? She just wanted to focus, meditate if you call it. She wanted to understand. |

You don't need a dream or even a tomorrow Just live
He was wearing the traditional Yuuei School Uniform, but Ryuusei Igarashi wouldn't be himself if he did not put his own style into it - even if it meant slightly breaking the Academy's rules. He was wearing two earings in his left ear - two silver hoops, one a little bit bigger than the other and with a silver chain attached and dangling from it. Such accesories weren't allowed, but what was the harm if you weren't caught? At least Ryuusei had never been since the start of the school year. His tie was also a little loose and his pants slightly baggier than the usual tight fit everyone had. With his black backpack over his left shoulder, the VIce-President of Class 1-A walked the halls of the Hero School. Today, instead of playing the piano at home, he decided to play it at the school grounds, something that was extremely rare. There was, however, a reason for this decision. Ryuusei had a meeting scheduled with one of the professors later that day - something about paperwork he had to take care fo due to his postion in the class - which meant that he had to wait for some time in school before heading home. Because of this, he decided to spent this time waiting for the time of the meeting by practicing his piano skills. He opened the door of the music room. Inside, leaning against the piano and looking towards the windows, was a girl with a violin on her hand. Ryuusei recognized this girl. She was around his age, but shorter than him and had black hair: her name was Sakamoto Rowan. She was one of the people from Class 1-A that had remained there since, basically, the start of the school year. However, Ryuusei did not know much about her. Had they even ever had a conversation? He let his left hand flow through his dyed blonde hair while still standing at the door, deciding on what to do. Socializing was hard, but he was getting better at it... Right? He thought so, at least. Afterall, he really was trying his damn best at the "being a normal teenager" thing. And he was already there, so... Hey - he said, not escaping his own cold voice - Do you mind if I use the room too?Notes: Ryuu arrives!Words: 391.Tags: Rowan Sakamoto

| ◀ | The heart is a heavy burden ❤ As Rowan looked outside, she had too many things in her head. The headache wasn't over but Nimue couldn't find a real solution to it, it was as if someone was hammering on her head with a hammer but the thing is that obviously, no one was doing that. The other point was that she figured out it must be lady, the other voice in her head and the fact that she was still there worried Rowan very much.
The black-haired-student normal had been able to push things aside and now worry too much about anything but at this point, she could not do what she normally tried to do. She tried to roll her shoulder, the right one, the one that hurt still, it was not as bad or as less as when Yojin found her, considering it was broken at one point she simply did not feel anything anymore but now it was sore from the bones that were maybe a little bit fragile still and the muscles trying to connect well enough. She could at least move her fingers.
She was so lost in thoughts, listening to the hammering on her head that she had not noticed that someone opened the door to get in as well. This was the reason why she jumped up when she heard a hey. Still kind of scared of the not obvious things around her, she should pay better attention, especially if she tried to figure out what Bucket was talking about for as far as she remembered, what were they talking about was beyond her but it did have to have something to do with... she shook her head lightly to focus on the hear and now. Avoiding to even think his name.
Ryuusei-senpai, she shook her head, she should speak to people."No, not at all." She tried to smile but it did not work completely as her mind was asking her a few more questions while she was trying to speak, she had stood face to face once before with Ryuusei when the school decided to fall down but she had more talked to Kanna and Sean at that moment. She pushed herself softly away from the piano and turned to the vice-president. She wanted to ask if she should leave, considering she could not do much as she rolled again her right shoulder, black and blue, her new colours. Her mouth, on the other hand, remained shut. So much for being polite. |

You don't need a dream or even a tomorrow Just live
She took some time to react to Ryuusei's arrival and a little more to reply to his words. Looking at her, she didn't seem to be fully in that room. Her body was surely there, but her eyes gazed at the windows just like her mind was trying to escape from there. Standing at the door, Ryuu simply waited for any kind of response by Rowan. The words he received were few - a short answer from someone who wasn't expecting to have to speak at that moment. For Ryuusei Igarashi, however, it was enough. He himself wasn't one to talk that much and if Rowan didn't want him there she would've just said so... or at least she should've. With permission to enter the room, the 1-A Vice-President crossed the door of the music room. He left his school bag near the entry before slowly walking in the direction of the piano. There he sat down in front of the musical instrument, his back as straight as possible - a good pianist needed to have a good posture. Rowan was just a few steps away, being actually near Ryuusei and facing his direction even if without satying a thing. He began pressing a few keys: no actual music or melody, just caressing the white and black keys with his fingers as if getting to know the instrument for the first time. While he did so, he was looking at the girl with the corner of his eyes. She was just there, her head feeling like it was in the clous. However, Ryuusei noticed something strange: her arm. Rowan had the sleeves of her shirt rolled up, leaving both of her arms naked for anyone to see. One of them was freshly bruised in the shoulder area, blue and black paiting the canvas of her skin. Perhaps a result of a training session? It was Yuuei, so that wouldn't be that out of the ordinary. With some reluctancy - and still touching a few keys here and there - Ryuusei asked about what he has caught on, thinking that if Rowan was going to stay there he might aswell get some type of conversation going on. What happened to your arm? he directly asked, not really thinking that deeply into it. Notes: ---Words: 381.Tags: Rowan Sakamoto

| ◀ | The heart is a heavy burden ❤ Her eyes followed him, as he walked towards her, she did not know what to say, there were many words in her mind but not enough to say something at all. Not to comprehend any sentences at all. She shook her head as she finally realized what she was doing, being rude that was one for starters. "Sorry."
She decided to say and tried to think about what she should do, he was a pianist. That was interesting if you were a violist because it was the perfect way to make music. She turned her body sideways, so she would still look at Ryuusei but now at his hands, touching the keys of the piano. No melody but she was very curious to hear him play. She should ask him, maybe they knew a song they could play together, it would be nice to practice. To get in that zone of not hearing anything, of not having to worry about where she was. Getting lost in the tones of the music and the world itself, so she had no need to worry about her body, her mind, the pain in her shoulder or her head, it was better if she could.
She did not say it yet, as if there was a slow block on her mind so she could not immediately speak. She wanted to say anything but Ryuusei spoke first. She had forgotten that she wanted to hide in her room and not show the bruise on her right shoulder, it was the reason for this shirt so Nimue could keep an eye on her.
"I ehm bumped into a villain." I think. Was what she added in her mind, it felt still too embarrassing to say so. She lied, her eyes not accepting the smile she plastered on her lips. "I came here to play some violin but it's not easy to move my shoulder just yet."
Stupid, why are you hiding? What would Kanna say if she heard it if she saw it? It was no use anyway, Kanna wasn't here. |

He continued to look at Rowan with the side of his eyes as he gave her explanation about her bruise. According to her, the small injury was the result of coming face to face with a villain. Right... Ryuusei thought to himself. He allowed the girl to continue speaking, ending up hearing about how she couldn't really properly use her shoulder because of the state of her arm, which in turn affected how she played the violin she was holding. Once she finished her words, Ryuusei pressed one or two keys in conclusion to the non-melodic tune he was toying with. He then turned his body to the girl for the first time, facing her while speaking. He was a nice villain if all he did was bruise your arm - he looked at the injury before looking Rowan in the eyes again - That or you just beat him before he could do more, in which case well done - he added. It didn't seem to add up very well: an Yuuei student having a direct confrontation with a villain but no one knowing about it? However, Ryuusei wasn't one to pressure poeple into talking about subject matters they didn't wish to elaborate on, so he would just keep quiet about it if Rowan chose to do the same. Instead, he would talk about the reason they both were in that room for: music. If it hurts you should rest it instead of forcing it... But if you really want to play we can do it together, since we'd be playing over each other anyways - he said, finsihing with a question regarding the same topic - For how long have you played the violin?
He said, pointing with his head at her instrument. Ryuusei had to be there and she was already in the room, so he might awell just make that time as good as possible... Even if that means trying to socialize properly. Notes: ---.Words: 327.Tags: Rowan Sakamoto

| ◀ | The heart is a heavy burden ❤ This was the first time the vice-president turned to her and she looked rather unhappy with what he said. Yes, yes she thought so too. It only made her worried about what she had done or said if that Bucket man only hurt her shoulder. "Well, the nurse fixed a lot already, it's only sore now and well, her quirk is really great." She wanted to shrug but that went like a half attempt movement, it did not go well. "I don't remember what I did." She only remembered that there were no scorch marks, so she basically did not do anything, unless she must have hit the man perfectly square on only his body, too many questions.
Thank god the conversation did not seem to be going too bad now, she looked up when Ryuusei mentioned that they could play together. That would be nice, violin with piano even sounded better but she normally played alone, which was good enough if you asked her. "Yes, I know I should but, I don't know, playing the violin always calms me down." She gave a weak smile as she was agreeing with him but could not simply stop not playing it.
She had to think about that question, "Since I was seven." She had first started with the piano, but she had already long forgotten how that worked exactly, but she could read notes so that was a thing that happened before stepping over to the violin, which she liked more, as well as to experiment with it. She smiled, "I only keep training, doing something else like school work and I really needed this moment to... well you know, play." She finally smiled a bit better than before, "How about you?" She looked at the piano for a second before looking back at Ryuusei. |

"I don't remember what I did", she said. It was with confusion that Ryuusei Igarashi listen to such words as he kept looking at Rowan, perhaps not being fully able to hide that feeling of his. How didn't she remember fighting against a villain but, at the same time, knew she had a confrontation with one? How did she knew how she got that bruise but, apparently, had no idea as to how or, maybe, even who? Ryuusei tilted is head while trying to figure out what was going on but, in the end, just decided it was best not to ask any further questions: if he was confused about it, than Rowan should be even more. It was after this that he got the conversation going in another direction, asking the girl if it wasn't best for her to rest, if she wanted to play with him and for how long she had been playing the violin. The answers tat the classmate gave him were short and simple: a quality that Ryuusei always appreciated. Despite this, no information was lost or omitted. She was playing exactly because it distracted her from the damage on her shoulder (and, most likely, from un-wanted thoughts) and she picked up the instrument for the first time when she was just seven years old. When Rowan threw the question back at Ryuu, he looked at the instrument that was facing him. My first time was probably when I was around four? Maybe five... - he caressed the piano with his prefered left hand - My sister taught me. But I stopped playing almost two years ago, I just picked it back up at the beginning of the school year. The reason for this stoppage he wouldn't tell, of course - no need to tell a classmate (or new friend?) about a sad past. I'm enjoying it more and more though, especially composing my own stuff. Do you also write your own music or do you like sticking to the classics? Notes: Music talk!Words: 336.Tags: Rowan Sakamoto

| ◀ | The heart is a heavy burden ❤ It wasn't strange to see the confusion on the Vice President his face. The expression was what she felt, maybe ven more than just his expression. It was infuriating and it made her feel stupid. "Did you ever have the feeling you did something but you did not?" She decided to say leaning with her hip against the side of the piano, "That's how it felt, apparently I texted the school chat channel, hence why Yo-Nakahara-sensei came to find me." Hold on! Don't say his name! She had to keep it a secret that Yojin was there, or was it known, she did not know, it only became more confusing but she managed to say quickly enough Nakahara-sensei. She was actually glad that Ryuusei did not ask any more questions because she had no idea how to answer that or what to say in general, there was a lot she did not understand. She understand where it came from, she did not understand how Lady took the reigns and how she had fought Bucket and so many more questions.
She did not want to sit down and wait for her shoulder to heal completely, albeit the broken bones and hurt muscles and such were doing better, if she did not use her arm enough it might just stick together, the muscle mass and all, making her slow and well other words she rather did not want to think about and to be fair that's another reason why she wanted to play, to forget the sad thoughts that she did not want to allow in her brain and memory.
She smiled a little more now that Ryuusei spoke to her, funny how throughout the whole year they barely managed to talk. "Music comes and goes but it's great you like it better now." She said feeling a little more at ease. "I do write bits and pieces but to be honest I like playing the classics more." It was as if she could just find herself in that and had nothing really new to tell considering her own music. |

You don't need a dream or even a tomorrow Just live
"Did you ever have the feeling you did something but you did not?"That was a fun question. For Ryuusei Igarashi, it was the complete opposite: having the feeling you haven't done a thing, but you totally did it... No, it wasn't even that. That would mean he wasn't taking responsibility for his sins had committed; that he did not feel constant deatachement from his own soul because of them. In Ryuusei's case, the question that would've made him say yes would be: "Did you ever wished you did not do something, but you did?" There were so many things.. It was that thought that lingered on Ryuusei's mind, which made him not even pay attention to Rowan's little slip up of starting the name Nakahara with "Yo" - but, to be fair, it wasn't like Ryuu would know what the girl was talking about if he was, indeed, paying attention. To his question, the classmate told him that she wrote her own pieces from time to time, but that she actually prefered to play the classics. A purist! That was good. Ryuusei had found a good balance between composing and covering, but it was always good to find someone who respected the ones who came before so much that they sticked to honoring the classics written by those masters. However, that did meant that freestyling right now would probably be difficult. Not that I adhere to the jazz philosophy, he thought to himself, remembering that not even he was used to jam freely with another person. He thought for a bit, his left hand pressed against his chin. Then, it came to him. A favorite of his, one that he played when younger and just barely remember, but the feeling... The feeling still plagued his hands while touching the keys. It was an orchestra song, but Ryuu's mind for music told him it would still sound nice with only the piano and violin. Do you know Danse Macabre? 1875, based on a French poem? he asked. The Dance of the Death, it could be called. A melody to accompany the appearance of Death itself at the midnight of Halloween night; to accompany Death's calling of the skelotons underneath her, skeletons that will dance for her until dawn. If Rowan said yes, then Ryuusei follow-up sentence would be quite simple. Well, you start then. I'll follow your lead.Playing with someone... Should be interesting. | ◀ | The heart is a heavy burden ❤ She felt like she was rambling, not sure what to say. Not sure where she stopped and turned into nothing. Wanted to be seen and understood, she wanted to be someone. She was apparently the Cheerleader Captain, but she did not set that up. She did not know many of the group, she had met Chise most of them but it was so weird and she wasn't sure what to do. She should not talk about it, she should not think about it as a thing in the past, what she would do was make it a thing of the future. But with the exams coming up and her arm still feeling like a fragile piece of glass, she had to wait. Maybe after the short break, maybe find something that they could do before throwing themselves into training again. She would see. There were other things to worry about, her memory was one and how to overcome these obstacles.
She liked more to talk about music, it was good that Ryuusei brought it up and that she could muse about that she rather would play the old classic songs than write her own. Why throw away the master pieces that she could not make any better. It would be an album of cover songs if she would ever decide to make one. She smiled though as Ryuusei seemed to agree with her. She thought about Ryuusei's question, Danse Macabre?
Her eyes went from left to right, she frowned a bit as she thought until a small smile appeared on her lips that grew a bit wider, "Yes I do!" At least not all her memories were taken or barricaded or destroyed.
She had to fix it, she could do this. By willing to show Ryuusei that she could play it, she managed to bite through the pain, put the violin again on her left shoulder and her chin on the instrument as well as moving her right arm, albeit a bit stoic, but eventually easier to hold the bow and strike softly over the instrument's strings. Starting the Danse Macabre. |

You don't need a dream or even a tomorrow Just live
It helped that Rowan knew the first song Ryuusei proposed for them to play together - it meant that there wasn't a necessity to ping-pong song suggestions for several minutes before making a decision. Ryuu liked this: quick and straight into action. Rowan started first. Even with her injury she played well - for Ryuusei, whose musical ears were well-tuned, it was easy to notice that the girl's level was about the same as his on the piano. This meant that he could play without worrying that much, just having to make sure he came in on tempo and to keep the progress and flow of both instruments aligned. He did just that. When they finished, Ryuusei felt good. He didn't show it by smiling or anything, but he knew that, for it being a first time, they had played very well together. You play well, he simply said. Glancing at the girl, he could clearly see how better she felt now that she had played. Music really heals everything, huh? It allows not only to forget what plagues the mind, but to numb what plagues the body. Perhaps Rowan needed more of that. Perhaps it was why Ryuusei asked the following question. I work at this bar in Toyko, it's called The Fourth Corner - he looked at the girl while removing his hands from the piano keys to rest them upon his own lap - They're going to do a Music Showcase of some sorts in a few days and my boss as been asking us to invite some people to join. Do you want to play together with me?By his natural cold tone, it was obvious that there was no second intentions in his question: just an innocent invite of someone who wanted others to feel less pain. And hey, if someone played with Ryuusei that meant that there would be less eyes focused on him, so that was always great aswell. Notes: ---Words: 326.Tags: Rowan Sakamoto

| ◀ | The heart is a heavy burden ❤ It was nice to play a song and it was nice to find a song so easily, she was a bit afraid that it would take a while and that she would have to suggest that he would have to play and she would simply listen because of her arm but the music he picked, a classic as she had said before that she picked as her favourites to play. She put the instrument on her shoulder to play and it felt like something that she had done all the time. It wasn't a mystery or trying to find out how to play, they both knew the song and as the song was made for their representative instruments, it went exactly as it should. Of course, there were small things that could be made more perfect but that wasn't strange after the first time playing together.
"Thank you, I like how you play too, it went very well for a first time." She was grinning though, happy to take her mind of the bad things, happy to play violin again and how she forgot the pain in her shoulder as she held and used the bow, she had not noticed, surely it tingled a little now but she told herself that if she could play violin and forget, she could continue with it now too. As she looked at the strings of her violin and went to check up if it was still all alright, she dropped her violin again, holding it with her left hand as well as her bow and looked at Ryuusei as he spoke to her again, she frowned a little, not understanding what his work in Tokyo had gotten to do with the song they played but as he continued to talk, she was rather surprise he asked her to play together on a music night in said bar.
"Sounds like fun." She said enthusiastic, no need to ask, no need to point out they barely knew each other, just accept everything positive right now on your path, that's what she had in mind. "Should we try again in that case? We could make it even more perfect." |
