Description: Shouko does not sweat. Instead, her sweat glands produce a unique chemical which instantly hardens into stone on contact with air. Although this chemical builds up slowly, over time, it forms a hardened cocoon of stone. This process most often takes place overnight, as the girl’s activity tends to prevent buildup over the course of the day. Fortunately for her, this stone is porous enough to breathe through, preventing suffocation from her own quirk. It is also fortunate that due to its slow growth, all the materials needed to form the shell are taken in over the normal course of life, not needing any special diet or action. Unfortunately, the shell which builds up overnight is too thick for her to break from the inside, requiring external help in order to rise in the morning. Furthermore, there is little she can do to expedite the growth process, as her control over her own quirk is limited to the ability to rapidly generate the stone from her forearms.

The rocks formed by Shouko’s quirk are quite typical, though as she has grown, the density has increased. At the moment, they are as resistant to breaking as a soft metal. However, the true benefit of her quirk comes from their weight- Having borne this for the majority of her life, Shouko’s body has long since adapted to the weight, causing her physical statistics to be impressive when compared to others of her age. However, as her quirk lacks the ability to be controlled directly, Shouko’s true power comes from the way she has chosen to make use of it- Her signature battle dress.

Shouko’s battle dress has been designed and tested by her over time. Weighing over 500 kilograms, the majority of the material can be found in the stone skirt which descends below her knees. By having so much of the material below her waist, Shouko lowers her center of gravity by an immense margin, giving her an immense benefit in keeping her balance- In addition to being able to use the stone as armor. Furthermore, this acts as a counterweight- Allowing her to make full use of the heavy stone clubs which she can form around her arms, in the only active use her quirk allows. Without the weight of the dress, these clubs quickly become too heavy to utilize properly- But with it on, she is capable of leveraging their weight to damage defenses on the level of soft metal. However, this power comes at a price, as the heavy armor significantly restricts the girl’s speed and mobility.

However, this also means that should her armor be removed, her abilities drastically change. Although she loses the ability to leverage her weight to significantly improve her damage, and loses stability and the protection of her armor, in return, she regains the speed and mobility which were sealed by the weight. When unarmored, Shouko is capable of running as fast as an antelope, and her mobility puts many professional gymnasts to shame.

Between both forms, Shouko’s core strength gives her a significant increase in stamina, allowing her to outlast many opponents she comes across.

Benefits

Armored Form

• Shouko wears a heavy stone armor which can absorb attacks capable of damaging soft metals, as well as significantly improving her stability (Durability - D)
• By leveraging the weight of her armor, Shouko is capable of damaging soft metals, or defenses on that level (Strength/Damage - D)
• Shouko’s does not tire easily, despite the motions she puts her body through (Stamina - D)

Unarmored Form

• Freed from her weights, Shouko is capable of moving up to 90 km/hr (Speed - D)
• Without the stiff constrictions of her armor, Shouko’s flexibility and mobility are significantly improved (Mobility - D)
• Shouko does not tire easily, despite the motions she puts her body through (Stamina - D)

Exhaustion and Weakness:

• Due to the nature of her quirk, Shouko’s armor requires significant preparation. Although she rarely forgoes carving her battle dress each morning, if she chooses not to, or if it is destroyed, she is unable to restore it before the next day.
• As Shouko’s abilities are dependent on her armor’s weight, destroying it significantly lowers her ability to deal and receive damage, although she gains speed and mobility due to the change.
• Heavy weights are exhausting to carry around. Although Shouko’s stamina remains extremely high, it depletes faster than others who have the same amount of stamina.
• Each morning, an external force is required to break Shouko’s shell enough that she may carve the rest out herself. She is incapable of breaking out from within of her own power.
• As a meta note, in exchange for being able to change forms, one of Shouko’s combat ability slots will be taken up by the unranked ability ‘Shell Smash.’

COMBAT ABILITIES

Self Taught Martial Arts: Yaogun

Effect: Having come a long way since the day she casually translated ‘Rock and Roll’ into Chinese, Shouko’s self-created martial art is now capable of fighting on par with other national level talents. At this time, the art is significantly polished compared to it’s prior state. It retains the earlier division of four stances, and extreme emphasis on the way she controls her own weight- Whether by utilizing momentum to wield her heavy clubs as though weightless, or the way her extremely low center of gravity makes her difficult to move by force. With variations for most situations, Yaogun is quickly gaining a name for itself among the unique martial arts that have arisen due to the blending of quirks with traditional techniques.

Rock and Roll

Effect: Shouko has never been one to let anything slow her down- Especially not the weight of her own quirk! Despite the hundreds of kilos she carries on a daily basis, she is quite certainly unhindered! While without her battle dress on, she can run as fast as an Olympic sprinter, she is not too far behind even with it on! (speed)

Effect:Shouko's battle dress is carefully designed to be fashionable and functional! While the missing midriff makes it mildly immodest, it also allows her to retain almost a full range of motion despite the stiff and heavy stone it is made of. Having grown more accustomed to moving with it on through her time at UA, she is more than capable of athletic feats on par with an Olympic gymnast. (mobility)
