| ◀ | The heart is a heavy burden ❤ "But you did not see him do that, did you?" Oh great, they were dealing with a girl that lived in the world of assumptions, because the boy was near and her stuff was burned, he had to have done it, surely it was a solid argument and thing but seriously that was not how justice worked or the law system for that matter, the girl rolled her eyes when no one was looking at her, which was great because Lani seemed to know more so she had to ask her. It was ridiculous this whole setting but Lady tried to hold on because Lani was here and Lani, albeit seemed to be cynical herself, she seemed to be more neutral to finish this whole issue. She looked at her fellow cheerleader and wondered how she did that and what she had in mind to do. So she explained she had seen such a thing with Sean and called the police. That only left one question for them right here and now, where was the item?
Her eyes turned from Lani, who asked the question about where the item was last seen to the boy and Natsume, as he looked at the girl as well, Rowan turned her eyes there as well. She tried to loosen up her stance to make her look less like an enemy but more of just a person that wanted to fix this issue, the girl her eyes went from her to Lani and back and she tried to resist the urge to roll her eyes again. "Don't you understand that the thing might burn again, if you have it near your stuff or hidden it somewhere, a huge fire can start before anyone notice, that thing is dangerous and it should go to the police. I don't care if it's pretty or if it burned your stuff, you have to make sure it doesn't burn more of the things you care about." Whether that be a store she liked or something else, it did not matter, "The faster the better." Maybe they should call the police also but at the moment it would be more important to find the item first, they could find it first and then call. |

these rapid eyes will keep on moving As both Lani and Rowan brought up how the object could still be dangerous, the boy chimed in as well. He wasn't on board with any of this. He didn't even want to deal with the item in the first place and now he was dragged into something weird, dangerous and possibly even criminal. "Come on Nat-ch...san. Wherever it is, we just gotta get rid of it." He suggested in an effort to finally put this thing behind him. He didn't seem like he was actually angry with the girl even though she accused him of theft, arson and tried to sic two hero student son him. It was almost like they had done this before and this was another in a long list of foibles for the pair. Not exactly the loose association of being schoolmates like it seemed at the start. The girl took a step back and brought her arms to her chest as if she was recoiling from the trio.
She felt like she was being ganged up on even though she was the one that brought them all together in the first place. How did it turn out like this!? "Y-you're supposed to be on my side..." She muttered in response. She was still holding on to the ideas in her head and that was a problem that wasn't going to be solved now. That was something she was going to have to fix on her own or with a professional. But the fact that the object was dangerous and probably going to burn something again was undeniable. "We found it at school. It was in the pass between the gym and the main building." The boy added, answering Lani's question about where the item was planted. "And I still have it at school, in my gym locker now." She explained. Since her normal locker was unsafe, she had stuck the thing in her gym locker. Because she thought the boy was behind it, she put it in a place where he couldn't go thinking she could keep it from him.
But now they needed to alert the police to it and have them retrieve it. In fact, the boy did that very thing one she spoke. He pulled out his phone to call the non-emergency line to let the police know what they had found and where it was. If they had an object like this before, then they would understand its relation to another fire and take care of it from there. So at least that would be settled and in the hands of the police. But the problem of the girl wasting their time and dragging an innocent boy into the mix was still there. Lani crossed her arms and looked over to Rowan with a smirk. "Well, that's done and she promised us food. But It seems like that was just for some unwarranted grunt work. What should we do about the wasted time?" Lani was leaving it up to Rowan to decide how the girl was punished if punished at all. Whether it was forgiveness or retribution would be up to Rowan, but they were heroes, so it was possible Natsume felt as though they would just let her go without an issue. ulla

| ◀ | The heart is a heavy burden ❤ The girl seemed to be upset so much about the outcome of this whole fiasco, which was something that annoyed Rowan greatly, the fact that she thought she was doing some great hero story or so, what was she? Crazy? Seeing things that were not there? Or more like making up this heroic story for herself to be the damsel in distress, saved by two heroic students from the hero school, punishing the bad guy and retrieving her crown jewels for her. She really had to resist the urge to not keep on rolling with her eyes.
Lani was a good influence on that, a bit of sass, a bit of neutral speech made it better for her to not overstep the boundaries that human society had made. Lady as that was the one hiding and pretending to be Rowan surely could not stand it like this but she did not want to hold on to this conversation much more. She had it in her gym locker and Lady had no idea if this girl understood her point or if she simply felt cornered with her behaviour and her stupid childish act of crossing her arms in front of her chest and the like, what the hell did she want. She simply took a deep breath and bit on the inside of her cheek to not speak.
She was glad that the boy immediately got into action to call the police and noticed the stands Lani took with that smirk on her face and her own expression softened too. Actually she wanted this girl to pay up for what they had made a deal for but on the other hand she wanted the girl simply to be gone she was a waste of time. She had enough money to pay lunch for herself as well as for Lani. The girl did not seem to be entirely happy with the mention of what the promise was and that it was a waste of time. "Let's just hope Natsume learned about this, it's a waste of time for heroes and making up stories in your head doesn't make them real. But glad she understood the issue now." She gave a wry smile to the girl before turning to Lani, "Shall we just go and find lunch for ourselves?" Her smile to Lani was a lot nicer. She was done with this situation. |

these rapid eyes will keep on moving At the end of it all, it seemed like Rowan was the forgiving type in a way. Not that she just let go all the things that Natsume did, but that she figured dealing with the girl wasn't worth any more of their time. it was true they were students of a hero school and time was a precious resource so her squad leader let the girl go. Lani nodded in agreement that it was time to watch their hands of it all. She was even going to let the previous promise go as well. This whole little venture let Lani see a side to Rowan she didn't know much about. Sure, she barely knew the girl before, but seeing more of what she as like made Lani feel better. She wasn't self-righteous or everyone idealistic from the interactions that Lani saw. She seemed to want to just hang out with the person that asked for her some time and was pretty intent on that. It was a good attitude to have and a good look at how Rowan focused on what she wanted instead of being pulled all over the place by the things that happened around her. It was the type of person that was good in a crisis situation as far as Lani could tell. And while this little event was a bother Lani gained two important facts from it.
The first was that Rowan was a cool person. She was the type she could hang out with in the future without it being terrible or pretentious. Truthfully, she hadn't run into too many of those types of people at the school but it was nice to know the leader of her cheer squad wasn't one of them like in the movies. The second thing was the fact that this weird black egg object wasn't unique. This was her second time running into it and the second time it was related to a fire. There was definitely something up and it was hard to think that it wasn't just a coincidence, but Lani didn't really have enough information to think otherwise. She was just going to have to do a little research in her own time, maybe after she parted with Rowan and got back to her dorm room. Whatever it was, Lani wanted interested in finding out more.
"Alright then! Time to get the fuck outta here." Lani said with a chuckle, looking her arm around Rowan's so they could head for someplace to eat. She was done with the boy and Natsume and it was up to them to repair whatever they had going between them. Who knew how it was going to turn out in the future, but it was definitely something they were going to remember for a long time. One could only hope the boy didn't end up hating her because of it. Or maybe she deserved it. Who knew? "You think we're going to get more of shit like that when we're heroes? People think we can just go around and solve everything for them." It was an innocent enough question, but it shed a light on one of the more worrisome things about the future of the hero profession. Soon people wouldn't be able to solve things for themselves and expect it to be taken care of for them by heroes. Hopefully, ti would never come to that. ulla
